I don't like DS2 but stuff like the King Vendeick reveal makes me glad I played it, despite all its flaws it sometimes has some really good moments that make you wish it was less divisive.
My wife also cried when she reached Vendrick. She has a weakness for old people suffering, and since she has bad memory I reminded her of "the story so far" each session, and kept hammering to her that "its all a quest to reach Vendrick, the run-away monarch, to learn the revelations he has learned"
Ah, the legendary reveal of Vendrick. The whole game build up to this moment of what a King he is and of you finding him for answers, and you find him as a wandering Hollow is quite the unforgettable sight.
DkS2 really did hit a chord with a lot of people who have families that suffered from some form of memory loss. this moment always made me feel pretty sad. Doubly so, as the story goes on.
I never thought about it that way until Chalice started crying about seeing vendrick, the entire game you hear about this great and mighty king, go meet the king, you’ll never meet the king with a soul as frail as yours and so on. Then you finally get to see the king and he’s just a lost shadow of his former self. Makes me really sad now especially because he wasn’t a bad king like so many others in the souls games
really been enjoying these vods! I'm not usually one to watch long-form gaming content, but something about the vibes here keeps me coming back. looking forward to Chalice's continued adventures
You have the heart of a lion miss chalice. I teared up with you as I heard your sobbs and the acoustics changed. I played og ds2 on release, and I'd forgotten how emotional vendricks reveal is. I can tell you're really invested in the story and that is like music to my ears. This may sound creepy but i feed of emotions. And yours are simply exquisite. Thanks for letting me accompany you on this journey, chalice. Xxxx
Chalice, try finding the old man in wheelchair at the last location, it's back in shaded woods. You'll get a really cool quest with a secret boss at the end.
It honestly bewilders me when I see people skip over DS2 and just go straight to DS3 after DS1, because I see so many people do it and I just don't understand it at all. DS2 has so much to offer and enjoy.
Literally it's because of other people complaining about their experience. They let those complaints influence them and unfortunately skip a great game as a result. What's also crazy too is some people haven't even played Ds2 and yet they still bash the game without even giving it a fair chance.
Herd mentality has unfortunately become the norm among souls fans. You can tell who skipped demons and ds2, because all they can discuss is DS1 and 3 meme talking points. All they know about 2 is 'ADP makes the game unplayable and it's clunky and slow and has artifical difficulty'... and that's sad cuz 2 is honestly the best one.
@@stinkfinga4918 2 did a lot of things differently, and that's what puts it up there for me as the best above 3. It wasn't afraid to experiment with different mechanics. Plus, I don't mind playing a little slower, with more tactics and skill involved.
@SirRampage24 same. What hooked me from Demon's is that it was slow, everything had weight, it was hard, and I had to take my time to beat it. It was niche and had only a small following. Nowadays all that matters is roll-spam boss fights and over the top anime super moves. Not surprising to see what they're making next...
@@stinkfinga4918 Exactly. Like don't get me wrong, I don't mind the faster paced fights that the later games brought to the table (especially with Sekiro, that's another of my absolute favorites), but it's starting to feel a little too common among the bosses we've been getting.
Oh yes! A level in vit! Vit for the fit! Ah great reaction to Vendrick. I wonder if she'll try to put him down. Aldia's Keep next. Great for farming Petrified Dragon Bones.
Wish we could have seen Chalice's actual face when meeting Vendrick for the first time. And honestly that Albinauric face thing disturbs the hell out of me. Especially because the left corner of it's mouth is like held together by a bit of skin while it talks...just looks gross. Glad she met Vendrick though! It's such a sad but big moment in every blind playthrough.
About the 'alas, nothing happened' that it's the interaction you can have with Vendrick after getting the necessary item to access the memories in the game. Getting such item will allow you to not only explore some new ares but also talk with the king and get an item after finishing all DLC's.
It's a nice twist from DS1 where Gwyn was present and Velka was absent; here Nashandra is present and Vendrick is absent (or at least absent-minded). There's even statues of Velka/Caitha in the Undead Crypt (doing a "Mary" pose). Also, the fact that Vendrick stripped off may suggest dragon worship like Logan (or Mildred and Quelaag 😉).
Your reaction to King Vendricks reveal was beautiful. I dont really remember my own reaction but i know i hadnt a good grasp on the themes in Fromsoftgames so probably meh. thinking now about it its really sad and melancholy, a theme i associate strongly with Ds2, seeing him only dragging his sword wandering in circles makes me think what could have been
Now that you've defeated the two rat bosses, please buy the pants from the cat. It's the best pants in the game Also, when you get a chance, I'd love it if you could read the item description for Elizabeth's Mushrooms. They're my favorite in this game
Fun Fact The helmet you're wearing is supposedly directly inspired from the "tigris of gaul" helm from the film gladiator. Also RIP poor Vendrick a perfect example of a man led to ruin in the pursuit of the love of a goth girl. Edit: I found it quite funny when you said you weren't going to hit any bells, and then proceeded to accidentally hit every single bell. In the room.
King Vendrick reveal is one of those magical moments that make DSII what it is

My favorite albinauric vtuber
Genuinely hope someone rigs her an albinauric Live2D model at some point lol
Finally we found the albinauric woman Gideon was telling us about
She's like 4th place for me, but the competition is tough.

3:14:01 that hits like a tonne of bricks when you have a parent with dementia.

Thank you :) that means a lot. I hope the vibes continue to be good!!
I agree
There's nothing more devastating than an Albinauric in tears - can you even fathom the pain in those abyssal eyeballs? HAVEN'T THEY SUFFERED ENOUGH!
I like when the weird lady steps aside for a stream to let the albinauric play.
Best thumbnail yet 😂
Thanks for uploading these!!

That Vendrick reveal right there? That's what games are for.
omg our fav albinauric vtuber is here
I like the way she says “chat.”

Your thumbnail work is peak 🙌😸
Meeting Vendrick is such an oddly sad moment perfectly sold by that eerie theme.
Lolz at mushroom enemy "Cheeto dust"

Velstadt!!
{One of my all time favs)
I have a feeling Chalice is really going to like the lore of the dlc's, especially the 3rd one.
That classic grey alien has let itself go. Still cartwheeling with the best of 'em though, punching dragonriders etc.

A chalice already, on the ball lately🎉
2:21:42 Chalice expecting a Godfrey/Horah Loux moment with Vendrick
Peak stream as usual
Ahh, finally... Mr. Chalice🧎♂️🥵🙌
Nashandra's voice is so chilling to me.

2:35:03 yes it does come up again.
There is one in Huntsman’s copes

Also I am safe back in the walls. I am out of the sink and back in the walls, but I would still like to be let out of the walls.
Minor spoiler:
Lucatiel survives, you can summon her in DLC3
Interesting interpretation of the dlc's. Benhart is a summon for the sunken crown dlc
10:40 Gavlan!
Play Fires of Rubicon! It's sooooo good.
Is she playing sotfs. It's one thing to get to vendrik but his conversation in his memories is my favorite moments in the series
🐸
I HATED this place. Screw all this, just run into the building.
1 view in 28s? Bruh fell off
