Great review as usual. Funny how the Titanium model number starts with an S and the Steel starts with a T 🤯 causing me to take notes during the video 😆
All of the casio ranges seem to be punching way above their weight I picked up an edifice and it has surprised me enough that I am actively looking for an Oceanus and after watching your review today I am definitely going to get one now I watched your reviews of both watches but seeing them side by side has given me a better idea on which one to look out for thanks for another great review Jody and long may they continue 😀 👍
I think I would go with the S100 if I had the choice. The T200 just looks like a watch from their edifice range at first glance, generic markers and a bit plain looking. Always love these head to head videos 👍.
I agree - S100 if I had to choose. Why get a premium Casio with a stainless steel case? My Casio lineage has a titanium case and I paid under $200 for it.
You read my mind Jody. I'd recently watched the videos you did on both of these watches and have had trouble deciding which is the better choice for me. I hoped you would do a direct comparison video and as usual you came through with excellent execution. There's a probably a case to be made to have both in the collection for different reasons but in the end you can't go wrong with either. Glad you found an Oceanus that wasn't all blue though! When I lived in Japan I was privy to hands on with the Oceanus line and they are all awesome, and mostly all blue.😆
Just want to say thank you for recommending T200 green dial. Mine arrived this week and I like the weight, the crystal, dial, and case finish. I think it is a keeper. It is a comfortable watch to ware.
S100 is great in design and color. The only thing I appreciate from T200 is the coating on the crystal... I hate Bluetooth connection because is bi-directional and that means a little radio bombardier on your wrist (also, because of that, is not stealth). I prefer the one with RC, radio reception only... But again, S100 is great.
Another great comparison video Jody and although I'm more a GShock fan myself its encouraging to see some great alternatives on offer from the Oceanus range!
Been happy with my T200 for years. It's my go to watch for setting everything else to and there's no chance it'll ever leave my collection. If they ever did a say, T210 in titanium and a mm smaller...lets say my card is already out Casio.
I can’t comment on the Oceanus but having purchased a G shock metal I am amazed at the “crystal” dial and build quality. It always displays the “time” and even though I am lucky enough to have swiss and GS, my G shock gets a lot of wrist time. Casio really are great value as well as “ luxury “ feel. Casio could do even better if they simplified some of their looks to avoid the transformer look.
I have the S100, and it's the only metal bracelet watch that can be worn during a hot summer comfortably, because it's so light. That titanium really does make a lot of difference. I don't own a T200, but I spotted it on a plane recently and it looks much more expensive than it is. Bummer it's steel though.
Thanks for the video. I am going to get an this year Oceanus but not either of these two. I really like the OCW-T4000CL-2AJF (I am a chronoholic). I currently have the Casio Lineage LCWM-100TSE-1AJF, an "Oceanus-lite" because it has a titanium case+bracelet, atomic clock sync, solar powered movement. I love it - small, light, and very comfy! The T4000 has all those features plus bluetooth (for access to the app) and is a chrono all for under $600 shipped from Japan.
And 2nd time zone and 24 hr dial. I have a few of these chronos and I don't even care about the Chrono function. I just like the sub-dial for traveling and business... Need to keep an eye on when the market opens
This makes me want to repurchase an T200 more and more! I like blue hands & markers and polished bezel of the S100. They're so well done they look thermally blued.
Great shootout! The Oceanus line makes me wish more brands would opt for solar quartz movements in their affordable offerings. I'd much rather have solar quartz with a sapphire crystal and upgraded finishing than the typical NH35 or Miyota automatic movements.
That would be cool but Quartz is loosing ground in popularity. There's a clear decline in affordable quartz watches sales because you have smartwatches for the same price... And people are starting to buy mechanical watches as jewelry than a tool that tells the time.
@@El1988Che I agree. Plus I only need one or two quartz watches in my collection for when I don't want to set a watch, where as I never get tired of a nice automatic.
@@El1988Che I'm not so sure, a lot of people buy an automatic for the finish and craftsmanship while quartz are usually associated with cheaper, more affordable watches for the masses and I think it will always be that way. Over the last few decades more people have a more disposable income and quality of life than was previously the case so I think a lot of those people are treating themselves to a "posh watch", but when you can buy a quartz watch with this level of quality then people take notice. The Tissot PRX is one of the most popular affordable automatic watches of recent times but it's far outsold by the quartz version. I bought the T200 for £270 after almost buying the Longines Conquest at £1900 - the Casio was a no brainer.
Well done, Jody. I must say that I prefer the S100 stylistically over the T200, but it's so d@mn close. The deciding factor for me at the end of the day, would be the unsightly lip of the clasp edge, where it meets the bracelet. That would drive me banana's, brother Jody. As a certified "bracelet guy," the fit, finish and operation of the clasp are supremely important to me. Plus, the S100 is arguably, one of the nicest titanium watches that I've ever seen. What a beauty!!! Very enjoyable episode. Thank you so much for the quality entertainment. Cheers, and best wishes to you
Excellent review Jody. Well scored, however personal choice, I'd give more to the Stainless Steel, I'm not a Titanium fan, any I've had scratch too easily and look awful, even those hardened coatings wear off. It was a pleasure seeing both of these watches seconds hand hit most if not all of the markers though it looked like the S100 was hitting ALL the markers whereas the T200 missed quite a few at the top. I'd have equaled up the score due to that. Watching both however made me think of the Swiss made Tissot PRX I had, which only managed to hit two markers around the whole dial. Swiss does not necessarily mean good quality control or attention to detail. I like both but Stainless Steel is still my choice.
I thought the same thing about the seconds hand ticking precisely on the markers. I have a Casio Edifice "CasiOak", the number escapes me but it looks like a very slim, quartz AP Royal Oak, and the second hand hits most indices bang on. So... Casio can do it for $200-$500, but Tissot can't for 2x-4x the price? Yeah, no.
both desirable but I prefer the t200 dial colour. My casio Ediface is probably the most worn of my watches just seems to have that little bit extra solid feeling handy for a daily wearer
I've got to Respectfully disagree on a lot of the scores here. I understand a lot of this is subjective, but I think thestrongest disagreement for myself is the dial and hands, I think the 100 has to take it there. The text at the 6 position helps to make the dial more symmetrical and balanced due to the logo and writing at the top. The asymmetry and lack of any real writing on the 200 makes the dial visually unbalanced and very odd to me, as someone who on every watch I own has text at the 12 and 6
As you say it's subjective but have the exact opposite view. I hate the text at the bottom of the 100 and it seems pointless and unnecessary to me. If it said something more relevant it might help but "Tough MVT" just sounds a bit crass to me. Just a shame they didn't put the date at 6.
No idea why the same level of care and finish is not present in all watches. These Oceanus watches have super refined quality, as high as Swiss watches which cost more.
Small remark on the S100 bracelet, that one is also provided with two 2/3rd links (slightly bigger than half) for more fine adjustments than just the 2 holes in the clasp. Also, you need to get the clasp on the T200 checked, it's leaving way to much of a gap in the closed position.
Awesome work.. I'm brand new to collecting and anither Aussie to boot. Love your channel and you helped me with my decision to get the T200. Love it... Also got a LCW M100 which looks great on a Cordura and leather strap. Wife has been very understanding..
Always loved the look of the 200 a bit more plus I'm not much of a bracelet guy so the 200 is definitely my pick, the favourite of all the Oceanus line. 👏👏
I purchased a Casio edifice efs-s500db+1bvcr for 99.99 from Walmart last year. can't find a better watch for the dollar. Chronograph, solar-powered, stainless steel case and band, sapphire crystal 100-meter water-resistant. Also looks awesome on a black leather band with white trim stitching ✌️😁👍
I was thinking about getting the T200 but since it's made out of stainless steal I was backing down but with this review I can confirm that I'll get one of these in the future.
The T200 really is amazing for its price, and puts to shame a lot of watches that are priced way higher than it. Thinking of picking up a second colour (the grey/black) version if I can. My only tiny gripe is that I wish the 'Oceanus' text was a little smaller
If the S100 came with the Bluetooth syncing functionality, it would be the clear winner. I own the T150 with the light blue dial. It is hands down my favorite watch and the most comfortable to wear. If it came with the Bluetooth function and a better clasp (less rattle), it would be the perfect watch.
I have the S100 and the T150. I find myself tending towards wearing the T150 more than the S100. Yes, the clasp is better, I prefer flat sapphire and it just looks better to me than the S100. But, the T150 is MUCH rarer than the S100 and the T200 - Any idea why that is?
Jody, I usually prefer dive watches but I have a few non divers. The T200 is my pick, the styling, the stainless ( I like a bit of heft ) the hands and the cleaner dial. Very nice watches both of them.
The winner among these two watches is the Casio Edifice EFV-100D-1A, which I bought after watching Jody's video. Doubled points in the Price category are killing these two Oceanuses. This Edifice is extremely accurate without any radio or Bluetooth support.
I absolutely disagree with the scores and it is clear that the S100 is the true out and out winner. Titanium is so much better for a watch and if you are buying a bracelet watch, you are never going to change the bracelet - that is why you buy a bracelet watch in the first place. You can use an app on your phone to correct a multiband 6 watch whenever you feel the need if outside a coverage area. Bluetooth is okay for now, but will it still work ten years down the road? The S100 is 98% in my opinion with the T200 92% at best due to the stainless steel.
I have both and prefer the S100. The titanium is sooo comfortable, the S100 also in my opinion has the better movement. All the hands have their own independent motors. The T200 doesn’t. Either way, they are both great watches. They seriously question value of other watches out there 👍
@@daveLin104 the S100 has a titanium carbide coating. It’s pretty good, but like all surface coatings it’s not impervious to scratches. Makes it a bit harder than standard steel, more scratch resistant than standard titanium 👍
@@daveLin104 I don’t think you would be disappointed. Case finishing is remarkable for the money. Only warning I would give (and this applies to the T200 also) is it only has one micro adjust position on the clasp, but, it does come with half links 👍
@Theflyguy522 thanks for the tip I didn't get why only 1 micro adjust I have a Khaki field auto with 2 and can't use bracelet due to it won't fit :( I like the 200 but too large for me, thanks again.
My S100 came with 2 "half" links who are actually about 2/3 of a full link so no problem getting a perfect fit. Since I played a little with the halflinks and the microadjust i can manage my wristswelling with just the micoadjusts during heatwaves, after salty food and now when it's colder, love this watch!
So considering that the price is much higher on the green t200 you reviewed, and that the radio vs bluetooth issue is irrelevant in real countries, the s100 easily wins, right?
The sheer blueness of the S100 was too much bling for me. I was surprised how much It pops far more than even a good video can show. The weight of the S100 needs some adjusting too if you have steel watches, to me it felt a bit toy town. As a glasses wearer I also found it very hard to discern the text around the chapter ring of the S100. I had to keep a picture of it on my phone so I could set the times zones. I liked the intent of the S100, but in practical terms it didn't pan out. Maybe that is why the T200 was produced, but I've not seen or worn a T200 in the flesh so I can't offer an opinion on that.
Regarding weight, I have a circa 2015 model Certina DS-1 ETA 2842 watch made in titanium. 39mm size, 11mm thick. Model number C0064074404100. I wasn't keen on the titanium bracelet which feels quite flimsy. Swapped it onto a "kuki-flex" leather strap and when I weighed the watch it was around 40 grams, Quite impressive for a mechanical watch and despite owning watches many times more expensive it is still one that I grab quite often. You hardly know it is on your wrist.
I'd like a 3rd option: call it a U300 and take the sword hands from the S100, put them -onto- edit: into a 38.5 mm rendering of the T200 and I'd call that a perfect quartz watch. I really do t like those silly and frivolous long counter balances on all the T200 hands. Love the pointed baton/fence post style, just hate that they extend past the pinion 🤷🏼🤦🏼
Leave it to Casio to name their titanium model with an "S" and their stainless model with a "T".
Casio missed the opportunity there.

Wouldn't have been so bad if it had been in a discrete shade of blue to blend in with the dial more rather than stand out. But I like the lume on the second hand which they took away on the T200.
I picked up the S100 because of it being titanium and I prefer the blue over the green.
Both watches are great!
Agreed, the 100 just has more pop.
Exactly. The T200 look like a cheap watch.
Dang it, you are going to make me buy one soon! Still a little bit boring... but so clean! Love the movement!
Another great comparison video Jody and although I'm more a GShock fan myself its encouraging to see some great alternatives on offer from the Oceanus range!
Love my S100 keeper.
Great review once more - thank you! Cheers from Germany
I've been watching these two for years, they are definitely two very nice watches, I just can't make up my mind 😂😂
Cheers, and best wishes to you
Got the Oceanus T150, light blue, superb watch!!
I want a S200 now! That Bluetooth connectivity in a simple design, unlike the say, Casioak, is awesome!
Yeah, no.
they are beautiful watches and hard to choose. I've never owned a titanium watch, so I'm putting it on my wish list.
both desirable but I prefer the t200 dial colour.
Agreed. They are fantastic for the price.
I’ve watched a lot of reviews on these individual watches but I’ve often wondered - which to buy? Such a useful comparo- thanks Jodi.
FINALLY! ever since the T200 came out i wanted to see this head to head.
Don't give a tuppeny chuff about these and will never buy either one , still watched to the end, 🤣🤣🤣
Do some Grand Seikos! (GS GMT vs Rolex GMT (or GS GMT vs OP, because of the similar prices) dial macro comparison would be very interesting!)
This is such a good man! 👍🏻 I think this is 4th time watching it! I might be about to get that T200!
I’m a sucker for a sports watch, so I went for the T3000A. When Casio makes a T200 in titanium, I’ll buy it on reflex…
I was thinking about getting the T200 but since it's made out of stainless steal I was backing down but with this review I can confirm that I'll get one of these in the future.
I like the 39 mm. Better suited to my small wrist n is lighter. Looking to buy one eversince I saw your video.
Just got my watch. Loving it.
I'd still go for the S100! Wears like a dream.
Great head to head review. These two look good and I love a solar quartz. Great job Casio.
The 200 is just gorgeous.
@@kirkkohnen5050 I don't know why it is so rare. Perhaps it is popular in Japan and sold better there.
There are atomic clock sync/broadcast apps available for smartphones. Best of both worlds.
I was thinking the same, I'd love to have a 200 made of titanium and just a little smaller.
Still would go for the S100. Looks nicer on the wrist.
Really like this OCE naming convention.
Jody, I usually prefer dive watches but I have a few non divers. The T200 is my pick, the styling, the stainless ( I like a bit of heft ) the hands and the cleaner dial. Very nice watches both of them.
My thoughts are if they just left that awful "tough mvt" text off the s100, id buy that one no questions.
S100 does have half-links for the bracelet. I'm looking at the one on my wrist right now.
Love your channel, and would absolutely love to see a Geckota on your channel. Very affordable, very good looking vintage inspired pieces 😉👌
They look great but the Edifice seems like a better value and also looks fantastic
The winner among these two watches is the Casio Edifice EFV-100D-1A, which I bought after watching Jody's video. Doubled points in the Price category are killing these two Oceanuses. This Edifice is extremely accurate without any radio or Bluetooth support.
But...the S100 is so much nicer then the T200, going to look to add the S100 to my collection😊
They seriously question value of other watches out there 👍
Do you know if the s100 has a scratch resistant coating ? I keep thinking of getting the s100 but worried about the titanium scratching
@@daveLin104 the S100 has a titanium carbide coating. It’s pretty good, but like all surface coatings it’s not impervious to scratches. Makes it a bit harder than standard steel, more scratch resistant than standard titanium 👍
@Theflyguy522 thanks I think I need to get one 🙂
@@daveLin104 I don’t think you would be disappointed. Case finishing is remarkable for the money. Only warning I would give (and this applies to the T200 also) is it only has one micro adjust position on the clasp, but, it does come with half links 👍
@Theflyguy522 thanks for the tip I didn't get why only 1 micro adjust I have a Khaki field auto with 2 and can't use bracelet due to it won't fit :( I like the 200 but too large for me, thanks again.
All omega aquaterra 20mm straps fit the t200 also a lot of curved lug rubber straps from aliexpress look really nice for it. Strap monster this T200
The S100 is superb ,I've had mine for a year can't fault it ,and you said only the T200 has half links , but the S100 also has half links
I have the S100 black and T150 light blue. The stainless steel of the T200 is a deal breaker for me.
The T200 would be my pick due to the size. Not to mention I prefer the green dial. WOTD Breitling Super Avenger MK1 White Dial.
Junghans has an app for smartphones that replicates the atomic clock signal. You can set it an play for watches that receive such radio signals.
The reason I would opt for the 200 is the dial color. Have enough black dials. Also the BT link. Otherwise I'd prefer titanium.
You know what would be a great battle? Seikos competing for who's got the best (or least worst) aligned details 😆
I own the Casio Oceanus T200 and very satisfied
Nice watches, but I just wonder why they're off about a half a second given their synchronization capabilities.
200 is just another steel Casio watch with Oceanus logo. 100 is a true Oceanus. That's why I own 100
Morning jody, JDM only could well be my next purchase.........
Good call Bob. They keep the best stuff for themselves!
