The hermits have a lot of health (at least in my encounters with them) but I found they collapse like paper sacks if you use high velocity rounds or slugs.
FYI: if the old man hermit isn't in his cabin when you show up, the old lady hermit will have the double barrel shotgun. Found that out after he blasted me with it (and took $150 from me after he killed me). Went back and he wasn't there. Also, inspecting the old lady hermits site is an entry in your journal.
I want that hat a black guy has in valentine, its like a top hat but a more loose version, goes well with the duster coat, but noooope ya cant have shit!
I believe there is a way to see each one without backing out and selecting each one from satchel. When you a note or card out... I think the D-pad scrolls to the next note.
Had you completed the pronghorn ranch segment of the game and got Sadie's letter to meet with her you could have gotten all of your weapons and your classic outfit. So yeah you were supposed to do certain missions first before you went off on your own.
@@Eskey__ ok so after chap. 6 you have the epilogue with john Marston, if you stick it out for several missions without wanting to immediately start exploring you'll get a mission where John gets his equipment and outfit that you see him with in the first red dead game. It's part of the story so you don't have to worry about missing out. I was just commenting here that the player in the video didn't bother to make sure he had all his equipment before going out and exploring and taking on other activities. The reason it's important is because John is immediately stripped of most of his gear and weapons. It's been a year since i finished the game so i may be mistaken on a few details but if i remember correctly it's important to stick with the missions you have until after John gets his guns and equipment back. You'll know what i mean when the time comes i promise you. I don't want to spoil anything for you because it's a pretty cool moment in the game.

On my 2nd play through have been spending a lot of time crafting all the visual camp stuff to see if it changes anything in the homestead.... In chapter 2 everyone at the home camp was singing a song about ottis Miller it sounds as if he is the red dead Jessie James famous train robbing outlaw
U don't need the maps if u know the location which we do so just go to the spot and u will find it. The fully upgraded regular schofield is better the only diff is ottis has a tiny bit more damage
I was able to take care of the Lady Hermit area flawlessly. I'll post a vid on UA-cam of it if anyone wants it. Basically, if you go up there, hop off your horse, and lasso her while she's still outside, then hold L2 and go inside of her shack/house to drag her inside, then the dogs JUST BARK, they don't attack you while you're inside there even if there's one in there already (which was the case with me). Hogtie her and check the drawer/nightstand. The other half of the Torn Map is in there. There's also Premium Cigarettes (in drawer with map piece), Moonshine, and Ginseng Elixor (on shelf behind door). I left her alive, she's dead silent the whole time. Then, you just chug a Moonshine (just in case) and then sprint as fast as you can to your horse. The dogs CANNOT attack you while you are on the horse and they also don't even attack the horse either! You just trot your horse down the mountain and lose them. If you already have a Double-Barrel shotgun, then don't even take hers, it's not worth it because it's just a basic one, not even a rare one soooo, you can't restore it either. Watch out for Cougars in the area. It's a trade-off between a Black Bear and a Cougar so be on the lookout - Black Bears generally run away from your character while Cougars will chase and attack you.
I'm happy to say I rushed through finishing the game just so I could continue watching your videos without spoiling much even though I kind of guessed what was coming. Baccckkk to TagBack TV!
Same happened to me in chapter 4 i think. I was in saint denis and had to attack people in the graveyard. I had no weapons apart from a knife idk why. But i killed all of them with my knife then i realised i could have taken their guns😂
You already theorised about it briefly, but the disappearing guns is because you're too early in the 1st Epilogue, before John takes his guns out of storage. He's trying soooo hard to be a good responsible boah right now :P EDIT: Also, my game had several gold nuggets at the bottom of that chest, which I couldn't pick up. I was so infuriated xD but apparently the 'backdrop' of the chest is kinda random.
For one's who might not know the gold bars in the crashed train under the bridge and the gold bar at the burned town near horseshoe overlook respawn when ur become john
I have the whole map and I'm only in chapter 3..you don't have to be any special progress for the maps, i have not tried to go down there yet as i do know it's past blackwater, i will try later on to see if i can.
You can get both of the map pieces as Arthur but I can't get to Armadillo alive to get the revolver. *I keep getting killed halfway through the country where Blackwater is. I even stay off the roads.
People who say "Why did it take 13 mins" I feel I need to answer this. Number one He needs to make money as this is what he does. Number two he also is enjoying to watch and isnt like some other UA-camrs. You can get both parts of the map before the epilogue. I got them before chapter 6. Just couldn’t get the thing until playing in the epilogue. You can’t get to the part of the map you need to for the revolver until the epilogue portion

I used a predator bait and killed a coyote that came and it popped up with 1/2 then literally straight after I used a herbivore bait and I killed a deer and it popped up with 1/2 again. Every time I kill either it pops up with 1/2 and I’m really struggling to get predators to go to the bait.

You can get that treasure even without complete map ,I just went to location where the chest is and picked up porn and golden gun with just 1 piece of map

I'm pretty sure that if you get full familiarity with any gun including custom ones, the overall stats improve making them just as good as ones you would fully customize.

If you get in a fist fight just pull out a gun and the enemy will disarm you.
Keep doing that and all your wepons will drop

Donno why, but to me, I found normal gunshop weapons more powerful than the rare or special ones somehow.
Why do all the gunslingers custom weapons suck compared to the ones you can just make yourself they should have the same or better stats not worse.
