As others have mentioned, October Rust is a masterpiece, truly. They were such a criminally underrated band. It's getting close to the anniversary of Peter's death. Gone way too soon.

Sadly Peter passed away back in 2010. But yeah he's an extremely underrated vocalist IMO. Doesn't get the credit he deserves. Happy you enjoyed this one too

Too bad, but Peter passed away. My confirmation name is Peter. I met him around 2010 and saw him live numerous times starting with Ozzfest’97. He was 6’ 6” or so and a baritone. A shy man. He worked for the NYC Public Works, etc. A working man of a musician. He had like 9 bros and sisters growing up. He suffered from depression and anxiety and drank red wine on stage to get rid of stage fright, hence the name in praise of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine. One of my favorite bands of all time.

When I was a teenager this song came out. There was a girl I was crazy about from France, I tried to get with her but she denied all my propositions. The day she was going back to France I listened to this on loop and never wept so much.
It's so nice seeing people post things to typo in 2022, October rust is a masterpiece and a album I listen to in high school.in the late 90s, I love the part at 4:50 at 15 years old i kept rewinding that over and over on my CD player and now at 40 i keep rewinding on my phone
My all time favorite band. So underrated. Peter had the most incredible voice. I’m still broken hearted that he’s gone. Definitely one of my favorite TON songs.
Bacchus is the greek god of wine and merriment. So furry vino (wine) refers to being a slave to intoxication, and peter had said that being drunk made him feel like kittens in his stomach. The song is essentially about having a relationship, and then finding out from her mother that she has another boyfriend who bought her a car and it makes him think back to a time when she said "we'll burn together" meaning they arnt good for each other. So He gets drunk off of red wine (furry is also a description of a Tennant heavy wine typical of reds) and has to make a choice. Does he choose to break up with her now, and save himself the heartache when she does it for him, or does he wait for her to do it (doubting her when she said she'll never leave again). He then curses the divines(the Latin part) for making him choose, and then decides at the end, yes, she's right, we'll burn together, and he chooses to continue the relationship knowing its bad for both of them
Ton is indeed a unique kind of metal art. Like none else. Period👌
This song is about Peter slashing his wrists drunk on wine over some kind of heartbreak. Apparently he was on a bridge looking at the dark waters when he did that. I am not sure whether it's the same girl from Slow, Deep and Hard or not.

Hey man new to your channel and thoroughly enjoying it..Type O is a band you'll never be disappointed by..genius lyrics,haunting melodies and a touch of humour..God these guys had it all and will be forever missed bur never forgotten.
The 8min mark hit him like a freaking truck, his facial expression said everything. You can't avoid headbanging after dimebag's solo in domination and you can't avoid feeling lost in harmony when peter starts singing in latin! great reaction overall, this dude had a superb voice!

A total masterpiece. I have been a late arriver to the TON party - sad I missed their hey day. Can’t get enough. Their songs never get old. This is a great song, perhaps one of their best.

That entire album is an emotional work of art that you can connect to. Type O has been my all time favorite band since 1992. To see you like and appreciate them as much as you did, put tears in my eyes. It was Goddamn beautiful! They never got the recognition they deserved and when it comes to voices, there is no other like his. I swear he could have just stood there and recited the alphabet and it would have sounded amazing. P.S. - Bacchus was the Roman god of wine. Pretty sure it was about a man getting drunk and crying to a bottle about their bad relationship. No Type O song was about what it sounded like it was about at first listen. If you want to hear an angrier, more brutal/thrashier/hardcore/metal side to Type O Negative, them listen to some stuff of their first album, "Slow Deep & Hard". The songs "Unsuccessfully Coping With The Natural Beauty of Infidelity", "Xero Tolerance", "Prelude To Agony" (the jackhammer rape section is so ridiculously brutal and shocking, it will probably blow your mind!), and "Gravitational Constant" each show a very radically different side to Peter Steele compared to what you heard on Bacchus and Electrocute. You probably almost wouldn’t even realize it's the same band if someone didn't tell you!
But, if you're up for something legitimately hilarious, then listen to their fake live album, "Origin of the Feces", which is basically an extremely meta, satirical take on 'Slow, Deep & Hard', except played with a looser, punkier sound. Standouts would be, "I Know You're Fucking Someone Else" (which I would argue is almost required listening), "Pain", "Kill You Tonight (Reprise)", and "Gravity". I absolutely think you should listen to any one of those tracks, if only to hear an angrier, darker, and at times more hilarious side to the band.
As an aside, though, "In Praise of Bacchus" is easily one of my favorite songs of theirs, so whoever suggested it was on point! And great reaction. I'll sub!

......lolol....yes ..alot of people don't realize that Jonathan Davis pretty much wrote all the music for the movie..he just couldn't sing because of his record contract..but he did put out videos of songs after👍🔥🔥😎
