roentgen The Note 3 & Note 4 were Samsung's best flagships (even the Note 7) but The Note 4 display isn't as rich and sharp as my Note 3, I can confirmed comparing 3 Note 4s and it fails all the time for viewing videos, everything else for display is AMAZING.

I used my samsung galaxy note 3 for 4 years, (bought s8 plus last month though).
The best part is not a single thing is faulty on the device till date. I didn't have to visit service centre even once.
The phone did not slow down even after 4 years of continuous usage.
Battery is still the one that came with device, the original charger got broken in my luggage during travel in jan otherwise, the original 2.0A charger was working perfectly fine for complete 4 years.
Or you can buy the xiaomi redmi 5 plus with a 1080p screen and 4000 mah battery

I used to own a note 3 a few months ago, now Im with a note4 that I got in pristine condition for 150pounds.
The camera is decent, the display is 1440p , still has IR blaster and many, many features that Apple users could only dream of at the time it got released.

The note 3 was a champ. My first note i could get and loved for about 3 years. Left cuz of touch wiz but came back with note 8 and happy rocking the 20 ultra now.
I actually bought this phone earlier this year... *AND IT WAS WORTH IT* I also rooted it and installed a note 7 rom.... And after I rooted it, it became 10 times faster than the stock performance

Nothing Titanium backup is your friend in these situations including data backup for games etc

Seemingly I can find the note 4 for around $100 to $120 on eBay but the note 3 is around $180 to $229. That's still very very expensive and a massive price jump for an older phone. Any ideas why?

That navigation bar can be hidden yes?... Try using edge gestures app.... It really gives you a full screen experience.
I have a note 4 and note 3 neo and the difference is so significant that I would even spend 200£ more to get note 4
Plus the note 3 is 3G and note 4 is 4G which makes it million times faster

PrinceJake GamerPro my mother used it for about 4 years and is still in perfect conditions but switched cuz it seemed kinda outdated and there was a T-Mobile plan to have 2 note 8 for the price of 1. And now I have a note 8 😁 only things I do not like about the note 3 compared to the note 8 was that it's pen seemed to be harder to pull out since it can't extend. Also picture quality was not the best. Otherwise, note 3 is great.

Mrshadowady maybe you take care of your phones really well. However, tone of forms are filled with issues about the note 4 and have seen first hand a few note 4s that barley holding on. Just saying what I have seen and also heard about in forms.
my note 4 screen fell out and had MMC nand problems and lead to logic board failure ... still when it works it's an amazing phone to use
I switched from Note 4 to Note 8 - can confirm. The battery was dying regardless of newly bought batteries. After the Marshmallow update, it failed to play the SMS notification sound (oddly enough, only the SMS sound). It kept switching the ringtone's volume back to lvl 2 randomly. It had problems with GPS, sometimes (totally randomly) it wouldn't detect any satellites anywhere, not even after reboot. But then, most of the times, it did. And last but not least, it lost its speediness over time.
It was a great experience, but... It had to go.

3:30 you can actually add more screen real estate by going to settings, switching to gestures, and select the option to hide the lines where the gestures would be.

Replace your battery bruh, my LG G5 my charging up from 0 to 100 in 30 minutes as well until I noticed the battery is really fucked up.
Yup, your battery is gone and must need a replacement, similar things happened with me before and there is a good chance that you will find an expanded battery in there, so it's better to replace it as soon as possible. You battery must also be discharging very fast, somehow because of the gradual change a lot of people won't notice the battery life deterioration , until it gets too bad.

You forgot to mention the most important thing.. It's the removable battery. You could buy a dozen of batteries and charge them all with the battery charger and you'll never charge your phone directly, EVER!

Also, the Note 3 had a replaceable battery. A few years ago, you could get a Note 5, in good condition, for 99 dollars. It was a significant performance upgrade, for pretty cheap, at the time.
After watching your video. I switched on my note 3. And that really made me happy 😅. Right now I'm using Motorola one action. But that note still puts smile on your face
I cracked my note 3 after using it for 3 and a half years
I have a note 3 it is no where near as good as the my note 8 so don't get it. It lags, crashes, and glitches hence why I upgraded.

I think this video suggest to get note 3 for people who are actually planning to get a custom rom and get rid of that touchwiz you have in the note 3. Touchwiz is the main reason why a lot of lags and stutters happens in these phones. Most samsung phones had good hardware but their weakest point have always been the bad software experience (it's way better with the samsung experience though, the one we get in note 8).

You were Wondering yeah that's probably the reason but the main thing that made me switch is the GPS chip stopped working on it so I would never be able to go to New places without using my old LG phone, and I was tired of carrying 2 phones with me.

I'm still using my Galaxy Note 3 from when it 1st came into the market and it is my daily driver. This phone is in a Class of its own when it comes to built quality and performance. The only thing I replaced was the battery. Even that just 2 weeks back.
I got the note 3 also from when its was released, And the only problem i got is the battery changed 2 times and camera is really bad :/ But i still love it :)

Yea, it is. But its made on budget so it feels more like plastic with metal like finish. But it should add a bit to durability. Its weird but all plastic G3 feels more premium than this. But it just might be me...
The black version feels like metal imo but yeh it's designed for the budget minded. The custom ROM support and support for Google camera API makes this more compelling

I mostly use the ir blaster on the note 3 to control my home devices (tv,a/c,radio,microwave, u name it) which is so useful to me and also to watch videos. Plus point is the removable battery , i have 3 of them so i rarely charge my note 3 after several days
But i also didnt regret having s8 with me
I used note 3 and it's an amazing phone..... If they update it to oreo and provide 4G I think it's far far better than the current flagships from few companies

Search for Resurrection Remix for the note 3 i got one that runs on Oreo 8.1.0 or get some like a Linage OS theres tonz of stuff in the Modding Community but u have to rrot it get your custom firmware and update the bootloader/modem otherwise you will stuck with that very old OG note 3 touchwizz shit ;)

I thought about this... But last year.. I bought a note 3 and sold it this year.... I'm happy with my mi max prime now...
For me, it's the sensors package of the Note 3, its removable battery and the ease of using the camera modes that make it stand out from its successors.
I really think Samsung should launch a phone that packs the same features with a newer faster processor.
