Punk rock become so safe, actually my boss says that he needs more people as me, I'm always focused in my tasks, ignoring the bored topics of the rests, I'm not spreading the rumors about they are talking, and I got a neutral opinion about every topic that can appear, he says that of course there are positions that I can't cover, but there are a lot positions in which I can make a good performance

@@graemenicol6377 that's sucks what happened to your friend. Sometimes punks and skins became the very mainstream society that they're dissing. They don't want to conform with the mainstream and yet when someone in the scene don't conform to their own set of punk/skin "rules" they're reacting the same like the mainstream society. Same mentality different sets of uniform. We're not living in 70s/80s. Punks and Skins gears now cost a fortune. Tell your friend don't stop making music, Oi! genre is one of my fave. Probably your friend put in more effort and cash into the band than parading the skinhead gears. Life in such bands ain't easy. My utmost respect to your friend. What's his band name?

This is consumer-palooza festival bullshit. Older bands playing are bands that stopped 30 years ago and returned cuz they can finally make some money doing it and it must be nice, I can't blame them, but these kids have no idea that playing the consume game is one thing we were trying to get away from in our day. Everybody has their ideas about what punk is and that's all good, it should be about being an individual, staying true to yourself so I won't say what punk is, but I will say what punk is not. Its not consumer culture and excess and that's what I see at these festivals. Kids who can't wait to go and buy a bunch of stuff. I go to shows and I buy merch from the bands I go see to support those bands cuz they're paid shit by small venues and bars and sometimes the only reason they eat and gas up is cuz they sell merch. Bands playing these festivals aren't making anything from booths selling purses, fishnet stockings, studded belts, and chain wallets or overpriced beer and bottled water. Wanna go to these festivals cuz its the only chance to see bands not touring much anymore its all good, all I'm saying is don't get caught up in the consumer culture black hole. See the bands, support them, buy their merch, its always nice to have to remember good shows just dont feed the retail vultures.

Hard to challenge an opinion that is spot on but hey what's an opinion but another view. After arriving from Toronto, we came for the hardcore. Svetlanas, Raw Power, Stupids, Aggrotoxico and on. Saw 76 bands at 14 hours a day with some afterhour pub shows. Never thought the beer was expensive ... just average .. after finding a 2 percent stout that kept us standing and in the pit. Speaking of pits ... mostly old codgers like myself in their 50's and 60's still giving it. Humphrey you are the man. Herman the German too! What a chance to see bands like Petrol Girls, Menstrual Cramps and tons of other newer ones. Dri, MDC were on top and Toxics brought back a lot of memories where skins and punks were having a hoot. Four days, ten pubs, no vegetables and more friends than we could count. There weren't too many young folk but those we met in the pit at the Stupids or Dedo Podre were having an amazing time. Not one fight and that is pretty good now that i've got all my teeth crowned. I never bought any merch from the tables but lots of stuff from the bands in the form of old geezer gardening wear. This year The Freeze, poison idea and doa will be killing me softly. After 44 years of enjoying this music there should never be an end especially if there's a pint to go with it. Have fun!
