The algorithm is really scary!! I'm making the exact same switch as you this week, from the S22 Ultra to 16PM. Yea, mine was starting to show it's age as well, lagging in certain apps or when i was receiving a large number of notifications. Hope you enjoy the new phone, i've been enjoying mine a lot, so far.
When it comes to the back button in iphone you just simply have to swipe from either up to down(mostly present in social media apps)or swipe from left to right on the left corener of the screen(mostly in settings). For me android’s gestures are much annoying than apple’s. I think it has to do with something which are used to… you used android for a while, i used ios for a while. Takes time to get used to it
Sorry to say this man I think you know very little about Android (Samsung customisation and its ecosystem). Comparing iOS to Android is like comparing a speedboat to a ship you don't expect iOS apps and features to run the same on Android I mean they both have different interfaces and different levels of customisation. I think you have a lot to learn about Android (Samsung in particular) 😅 ios is generally rocking its face unlock feature while on Android we have the fingerprint mostly so how possible do you expect both devices to perform the same according to what you like and how you want it to run? Another thing is you holding an S22 Ultra and a 16pro max come on man you should try the S24 Ultra instead.
I don't know how you said iphone camera is good, most of the top photographer prefer flagship android ( S24 , Oppo Find X Series, Vivo X series) and as a photographer i too prefer flagship android bcz its way way better in Photography & Flexibility ( Full manual control, Expert RAW Lossless, Super Resolution ). Yes iphone has good in log video but its not a huge thing as flagship android is very neck to neck right now. I have tested both iphone 16 pro and S24 Ultra, and Vivo X series as well.
Bro you are a macbook user so isn't it's obvious to have iphone instead of android, as you are already on apple ecosystem. But yes Android to windows or mac is sometimes a hassle not evrytime and for apple to windows, you know it i know it🤐
I am even trying that now and it is not working. On android you have a dedicated back button that works in any part of any app and it will take you back to the previous screen. There are some apps where you can swipe on one side to go back (instagram), but take WhatsApp for example, or any browser page, there you have to hit the dedicated back button
I had the iPhone since the 3. I now can no longer hold my phone because it feel like electricity is zapping my hand when I hold it and when I watch it after the iOS 18 update. Samsung is much more tolerable to hole and watch to my body without headaches and that electricity feelings. If you’re sensitive to energy try both phones before you make your decision. I’m not hating on Apple. This is simply my experience
I went from the s22 ultra to the iPhone 15 pro max last year after 8 years on Android (and 8 flagships). I 100% agree with you about everything you said, including the iOS nitpicks 😂 The only Android phone that would probably persuade me back would be a pixel but they need to sort their chips first. For now, I’m getting cozy on apple’s ecosystem ❤
"my 3 year old Samsung phone is not as good as this 1 month old iPhone so this is why i'm switching. also, my friends are saying i'm not cool enough so that is the real reason i'm switching. appel makes the coolest products ever! look at those animations!"
Thanks for the comment but I don't think you have really watched the video. The main reason why i went to iPhone instead of Android is the camera (Log is a huge deal for someone like me who is using it). Second, i upgrade my phone ones every 2-3 years (it is a personal choice and i am in a fortunate position where i can afford it), and i had to chose between another Android phone and an iPhone. Since i am using a MacBook, utilising the Apple ProRes, and wanted something that felt new, this was the best option for me
@@AlexNaunceff get a pixel and a compact camera, iphone footage is meh and you need external ssd to record log so you need to carry extra things anyways
I have a sony A74 which records this video. I want to be able to match the footage from the phone to the one from the camera (which can be done easily with Log). Furthermore, you can record Log internally, you do not need an SSD, however i already have an SSD and i am planning on using it if, for example, i don't want to carry my big camera with me. I understand why you say that the Log is not "a big deal" and i do agree that for a day to day use it is not, but i will be using it in a semi-profesional way (on UA-cam as well as separate paid projects outside UA-cam) and thus, to me, it is a big deal.
I never had a fold, i was thinking about it but i know the folding phones are still early variations, and they will improve a lot over time, but until then, i do agree with you, the 16 pro max is better
It's not consistent. Different apps have it in different places, settings in iPhone let you swipe go go back but your banking app is different than UA-cam or Instagram. Android has a universal back button. iPhone is still more seamless in the apple eco system, I'm thinking of switching from s23 ultra myself

@AlexNaunceff most Android flagship cameras got raw on it what's the difference You can colorgrade that also and they also have master where you control everything what's the difference That's the thing I'm trying to figure out
@@macgyvermac2344 Sometimes you don't want to shot raw (ex. you want to post something on instagram very fast). Sharpness and overall quality are the same on flagships (you can zoom in 1000% to see a pixel difference but realistically nobody will do that). If you don't like editing (or you only do minimum editing such as a filter on insta) I prefer the colours on android (the grading on Samsung or Google pixel , the grading that they apply by default). If you shot raw it doesn;t matter because you can edit the photo to to a large extent afterwards. Same thing for video, there i prefer the Iphone (out of the camera) but i usually shot LOG so i don't really care that much. Once android will bring LOG into the mix, they will be equal when it comes to camera. Hope this helps.
Had this experience 3 years ago. It'll be hard to go back to android after using an IOS. Reason why I switched is because I got tired upgrading my phone every 2 years. My wife's Iphone 11 at 3 years that time is still smooth while my Note 10 plus is already failing me. At first, IOS scks but over time you'll appreciate how stable IOS is. I'm missing some android features but at the end of the day both OS is just a portal to your apps. And in that department IOS is still more optimized.
Yes, i can say that my s22 has started to lag a bit before changing it. I already started to get used ti IOS, but as you said, i do miss a lot of the small features that android had
from S22 to IP12 here since last friday...its being a little confusing since i´ve being using android since 2016...things are in different places, icones are different, but IOS is incredibly smooth with 4gb of ram... its some kind of witch craft.. hahaha
I agree, iPhones are very smooth! Also, for me android became a bit boring so, although that was not the main reason for switching, i do enjoy the brand new experience, and trying to figure out where everything is and what it does, it fills like an actual "new phone" like it used to be years ago, when you had a "new phone experience"
In one UI 7 (it'll come out early february), the animations are just as smooth as apple's animations. If you don't believe me, watch a comparison of one ui 7 and ios 18.2 About the ecosystems, apple is still better, let's see if samsung improves that in the next few years. And about other android brands, apple animations are mostly better, for me samsung is the one that's stepping up on this aspect.
I have yet to test, or experience any Security issues, or cases myself (android or iPhone), so i did not want to say anything just based on what i have read online, that's why i haven't touched on that, but i do know (based on what i have read) that apple does have the best security on the market when it comes to phones, and i tent to believe it
Camera and spec. Video has always been top on iphones, but these days it´s remarkably close. I do still main my 16 Pro Max just because battery and 4/120 video. But Jan when s25 Ultra is out and 99% will have the 4/120 and then some i guess it could be my new main. :) That´s why i can main a Fold, my Fold 6 is SUp. in many ways but camera just Ok and nothing more.
I think the S23 Ultra can do 4k 120p as well, if i'm not mistaken. Out of the cameras, for video, i think the Iphone just looks better but not by much, and for photo i prefer Samsung or Google pixel. The main reason why iPhone is significantly better for video is the Log capabilities, otherwise, when it comes to camera, i think they got to a point where they are almost the same, and the only difference is the color reproduction (which is personal choice). So i think whatever you chose (out of the latest flagships) you will be more than satisfied.
It in fact can, but from left to right, not right to left. There are some people out there such as you that are just such Android femboys. You completely lost the word of being a fanboy by starting phone wars. This is an example of the Samsung S24 Ultra, or whatever phone with a 200MP camera. Just what idiot would use this function to take a 200MP photo? It takes nearly 10 seconds to capture anyways. iPhone has it's own features. If you don't like it, you don't need to give so much hate on it.
Not in every app. Take whatsapp for example or a browser page, there you cannot do that (and there are a lot more) . On android you have a dedicated back button which can be set either through that swipe motion or an actual button (touch) at the bottom.
Yes, for everybody will be a different experience. Personally i quite like it so far, but coming from android myself i can definitely understand your opinion on this. At the end of the day is a very subjective preference in my opinion.
I went from Galaxy 6 edge to iPhone 6s Plus as an experiment and the rest is history never went back. Ecosystem & continuity are impeccable. Ironically, Google apps tend to run great or better in iOS . So , you won’t be missing Android. Facts!!
I am more of a purist with everything that i own. I like to use the intended manufacturer apps whenever possible, as i had issues with 3rd parties in the past and it was frustrating. But i wan thinking of looking into a 3rd party keyboard in case i don't get used to this one in 2-3 weeks.
I used Gboard for a while because my stock iOS keyboard was laggy af in one of the 18.1 betas. Horrendous stuff. I had no idea I’d miss iOS keyboard that much and I was a Gboard user for 8 years on Android. I type much faster on the iOS stock keyboard and now with the AI features available, it makes sense to stick to it.
you aren't clear enough on the camera part... so the iphone's camera is better because it records video better for you to have the options for video editing? or because it simply looks good? which is it. i asked this because of the 2 biggest tech youtubers, one says the android camera quality is better and the other says the iphones camera is better. i also ask this because its shooting video that makes for better video editing does not make it the better camera since that has nothing to do with how good the video looks for people viewing it on the phones only, which is 99% of users that don't do video editing for professional work.
To put it in a few words for video (basic), iphone is better, it has less sharpness (looks more natural) and better colours (although the colours are personal taste). But for better results Log is an obvious choice. When it comes to Photo, android does look better in terms of colours (again personal taste here), although sharpness i think the iphone does a slightly better job since it can shoot 12 OR 24 MP default while the android you can only shot 12MP and if you want the full sensor resolution you will have to toggle that option. At the end, as i mention in the video, they got to a point where they are almost the same, the only difference will be how you would like the processing of the photo (colours/sharpness/dynamic range) to look like, and you can search for examples online for that. The only reason an iPhone is significantly better for video is the Log capability. If you don't care about it, than just look at online examples and chose the one that looks better for you (without post editing) Hope this helps.

Well because there's so many Android you can't complain that Samsung is representing all Androids even though they're most popular and you can't in the same breath say everything just works but there's more choice on the other side so it depends it sounds like you're tired of not having an integrated obviously to a MacBook whereas Windows is separate but there are apps that do the things you just have to go look for them to drop things in some of them are even called drop but if you own a MacBook obviously it's going to work with an iPhone and the apps that are made for iPhone it's not that it's made for iPhone I've only has one variation and that's a good thing and a bad thing but you also have to pay for all apps you can't just mod them or download apps outside of the App Store so the iPhone is good but your nitpicks could go both ways it really comes down to you're just tired of bothering so you just want to mindlessly have everything work that's fine but you're not really switching you just wanting to be using a phone that makes your life easier but not by much just by preference you can't say oh the war is not much of a war it's mostly just being loyal to a brand however you can't say they're basically the same because you switched because the differences matter so they must matter to other people as well for different reasons it's stupid to say that they both take pictures and can go on the internet for Instagram so why buy a Tesla all cars drive they're basically the same or all EVS are the same which is horseshit so you can't argue both points and then plant the flag in one claiming that it's not really a big deal
Thanks for the comment, let me reply to some of your point. The integration plays a big role in why I chose to switch and to give you an example i can copy something on mac and paste on the iphone. That is like magic to me, since none of that is available on win/android (aside from using a samsung phone with a samsung laptop which i touched in the video, but samsung laptops are just bad) When i mention the android phones are similar i was referring to the integration with other apps being the same, sometimes really good and sometimes bad, because the apps are not maid for a phone in particular but for Android as I system. And a final point regarding the apps outside of AppStore. I don't intend to use any of those anyway as i never did on android either. I feel like there is too much risk and i have way to much sensitive info on my phone to risk it. So i'm sticking with whatever can by verified by google/apple. However (although not 100% sure) there are discussion of apple allowing you to do that in the future as well, due to the EU regulation (nothing for sure yet) Anyway you have valid points and i totally understand them. Hey there, as someone who is making money from the camera of the phone, i tend to disagree, although i can see what you said as a valid point for a regular consumer. Thank you for watching tho!

Ios 18.1.1 and 18.2 destroyed my 11 and now iam sitting here and thinking about going back to samsung maybe the s25 uktra or go Iphone16 max…
Awww dont kniw what to do
With the iphone i will be absolutely great! The apps work great the camera is awesone Notes and i really like Safari
But i could need a change but if tge samsung fails its an expensive fail… hmm
did the same thing. s22 ultra (exynos) was absolute garbage and I'm on my first iPhone now. 16 pro,not the max.
Yea, mine was starting to show it's age as well, lagging in certain apps or when i was receiving a large number of notifications. Hope you enjoy the new phone, i've been enjoying mine a lot, so far.
Go get a camera if footage quality is important for you, you can’t approach quality of a full frame cameras sensor quality with your phone
Just install Google keyboard instead system
I think apple just wins it all the time with it's ecosystem, it's seamless and incomparable
Yes, i do agree 100%
Bro you are a macbook user so isn't it's obvious to have iphone instead of android, as you are already on apple ecosystem.
But yes Android to windows or mac is sometimes a hassle not evrytime and for apple to windows, you know it i know it🤐
2:30 but this is exactly what you do on iPhone to go back. I Think even the Apple was first with this swipe to back gesture many years earlier
I am even trying that now and it is not working. On android you have a dedicated back button that works in any part of any app and it will take you back to the previous screen. There are some apps where you can swipe on one side to go back (instagram), but take WhatsApp for example, or any browser page, there you have to hit the dedicated back button
@@AlexNaunceff It Works on what’s app or even every page (I think you may swiping on wrong side bc it Works only from left edge).
@@dawidziu4351 hmm I am trying even now and nothing is happening, so for me it doesn't work.
Never had that problem personally, but good to know!
I went from the s22 ultra to the iPhone 15 pro max last year after 8 years on Android (and 8 flagships). I 100% agree with you about everything you said, including the iOS nitpicks 😂
The only Android phone that would probably persuade me back would be a pixel but they need to sort their chips first.
For now, I’m getting cozy on apple’s ecosystem ❤
Or just plug your Android into a pc directly via USB and drag and drop files to and from the Android phone...
@@AlexNaunceff also iphones are the most easily hackable phones, android is way safer especially pixel lol
I understand why you say that the Log is not "a big deal" and i do agree that for a day to day use it is not, but i will be using it in a semi-profesional way (on UA-cam as well as separate paid projects outside UA-cam) and thus, to me, it is a big deal.
been looking for this comment lmao
I switched a few weeks ago from a fold 4 because Samsung is not giving me what I want. So 16 pro max hardware is better..
I never had a fold, i was thinking about it but i know the folding phones are still early variations, and they will improve a lot over time, but until then, i do agree with you, the 16 pro max is better
Brah.. you can simply swipe left on the screen of the iPhone to go back.. I’m confused..
You dont know what youre talking about.
@ no you don’t. You can literally/simply swipe from the left of the iPhones screen to go back… it’s not rocket science .
It's not consistent. Different apps have it in different places, settings in iPhone let you swipe go go back but your banking app is different than UA-cam or Instagram. Android has a universal back button. iPhone is still more seamless in the apple eco system, I'm thinking of switching from s23 ultra myself
@@Mydailydadlife I remember even I used to be heavy on the android side. Until I got an iPhone, then I knew there was no way I’d ever go back to android😂
excellent video I want to know if Android comes out with the ProRes log would you say Apple cameras are still good and they have to use that because their camera is not good
@@macgyvermac2344 On the basic camera (without pro res) i prefer the iphone, better colors for me (this is personal taste) for photo i prefer android (unless i shot raw where i can do the editing myself, then it does not matter).
If android comes out with a Log profile in the future i might switch back, depending on what they offer as a package
@@AlexNaunceff with the last poster post I realized that raw photo is the best especially when you are editing
This is how you know youtube algo can be whack,
Id rather go back to Nokia 3210 than go back to an apple after android,
from S22 to IP12 here since last friday...its being a little confusing since i´ve being using android since 2016...things are in different places, icones are different, but IOS is incredibly smooth with 4gb of ram... its some kind of witch craft.. hahaha
I agree, iPhones are very smooth! Also, for me android became a bit boring so, although that was not the main reason for switching, i do enjoy the brand new experience, and trying to figure out where everything is and what it does, it fills like an actual "new phone" like it used to be years ago, when you had a "new phone experience"
i found reason why android have setting on cc cuz is more buggey
"Its just so smooth."
"Everything works."
- reasons why Im on IOS for 5 yrs lol
In one UI 7 (it'll come out early february), the animations are just as smooth as apple's animations.
If you don't believe me, watch a comparison of one ui 7 and ios 18.2
About the ecosystems, apple is still better, let's see if samsung improves that in the next few years.
And about other android brands, apple animations are mostly better, for me samsung is the one that's stepping up on this aspect.
I was expecting you to dive into security. That's also where Apple excels over android
I have yet to test, or experience any Security issues, or cases myself (android or iPhone), so i did not want to say anything just based on what i have read online, that's why i haven't touched on that, but i do know (based on what i have read) that apple does have the best security on the market when it comes to phones, and i tent to believe it
Was.Knox says Hi.
Sold my iphone 16 pro today, had it for exactly 7 days. 7 days to much, almost everthing on my galaxy s21 ultra is better. 😅
You can swipe right from your left screen edge to perform a "back" action, right?
@@AlexNaunceff I'm just saying, most apps have it. If you have reachability turned on, you can easily click the back button.
Hey, you should make a Desk Setup video!
There are a couple of things i want to change, in the near future, and i think i will make a video on it. Thanks for the idea! 🙏
I'm a lifetime Android guy but decided to switch Iphone 16 pro max boy I should've waited for S25 ultra Iphone is just medioca compare to Samsung
Yes, for everybody will be a different experience. Personally i quite like it so far, but coming from android myself i can definitely understand your opinion on this. At the end of the day is a very subjective preference in my opinion.
I've been using Samsung for 6 years and recently switched to iPhone 16PM. I'm never going back, and I was a lifelong android user.
What makes it feel mediocre? I'm so tempted to switch to the 16 pro max from the s24u but I don't want to regret it. I'm a long time android user
I went from Galaxy 6 edge to iPhone 6s Plus as an experiment and the rest is history never went back. Ecosystem & continuity are impeccable. Ironically, Google apps tend to run great or better in iOS . So , you won’t be missing Android. Facts!!
OMG YES! I use UA-cam music and the app runs so much better on my new 15 plus than my old s21! I would think that it’s the other way around but nah 😂
Keyboard: install a different keyboard. Easy solution. I do use SwiftKey, but also have GBoard installed.
I am more of a purist with everything that i own. I like to use the intended manufacturer apps whenever possible, as i had issues with 3rd parties in the past and it was frustrating. But i wan thinking of looking into a 3rd party keyboard in case i don't get used to this one in 2-3 weeks.
3rd party keyboards on iPhone are really just glorified skins over the apple keyboard.
@@AlexNaunceff i'm always android, i don't need expensive phones, i use mine for calls, messaging and pictures here and there. i'm a pc guy.
every video i watch on the topic about camera on mobile phones so far is 50/50.
That is like magic to me, since none of that is available on win/android (aside from using a samsung phone with a samsung laptop which i touched in the video, but samsung laptops are just bad)
When i mention the android phones are similar i was referring to the integration with other apps being the same, sometimes really good and sometimes bad, because the apps are not maid for a phone in particular but for Android as I system.
And a final point regarding the apps outside of AppStore. I don't intend to use any of those anyway as i never did on android either. I feel like there is too much risk and i have way to much sensitive info on my phone to risk it. So i'm sticking with whatever can by verified by google/apple. However (although not 100% sure) there are discussion of apple allowing you to do that in the future as well, due to the EU regulation (nothing for sure yet)
Anyway you have valid points and i totally understand them. Thank you for watching!
And to think that Android keyboards have commas and full stops readily available, yet OP chose to use none 😂
And i just moved to android from iphone 15 pro max to google pixel9 xl, glad i did the switch iphone just got boring 🤢
good.
Ill give you 5mins before you switch back
The reasons to make the switch are absolutely BS. But whatever. Enjoy your iphone.
Hey there, as someone who is making money from the camera of the phone, i tend to disagree, although i can see what you said as a valid point for a regular consumer. Thank you for watching tho!
I switched because I wanted to learn on my phone enthusiast and I understand why apple is so great and it hardware. I like my fold 4 but its bulk and Samsung didn’t make the fold 6 bigger so I switched to apple.
Found the Fandroid 🤣
Wait for s25 ultra And turn back
I will be keeping this for 2-3 years, but i will definitely check the Samsung phones when i am ready to upgrade again 🔥
