Hi Claire!! My name is Grant, I am currently in my sophomore year at college, and I just bought my first Hobonichi cousin a few weeks ago for the full 2024 year- I am super excited to fill out my first calendar spread in December!! I have always loved journaling, memory-keeping, and keeping lists or random person interests that I know i’ll look back on. I have been trying to get myself out of a very perfectionistic mindset which is extremely challenging, but watching flip-through videos like these bring me back to the focal point of these journals. The customization, using it for whatever speaks to me during that time.. I love it!! I am in the KC Metro area, so seeing the Royals stuff & your favorite city being KC felt like the coolest shoutout!! So excited that there are more Hobonichi users around, and absolutely loved your spreads! :)
HI GRANT!!! Thank you for such a kind message!! I am hoping the Cousin is everything you are hoping for and more :') Using it seriously changed my life & re-ignited my love for journaling and memory keeping. Cheers and please keep me updated!!!
Your content feels like an ode to the pleasure of paper and colour - thank you for sharing your journal joy on UA-cam! 2023 will be my first year in a hobo cousin and now I’m even more excited ❤.
Claire! this is one of the best hobonichi videos i've watched!! You've given me so much more layout formats and ideas to track! I was kind of getting bored of my A6 formatting so I'm switching from the A6 to A5 Cousin Avec. Needed more room too as I've been wanting to reflect a bit more on the daily pages. Def can use the A5 space for polaroids!
I love how your spreads look!! My daughter was making fun of me, cuz my spreads look crazy. Lol but I love the way it looks. She just sees all the prefect sticker kit spreads lol. I love the realistic spreads 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
Oh - you WILL love the paper!!!!! :-) But... I'm not trying to promote overconsumption here, either! Haha. They're kind of an investment, but one I am willing to make over and over again!
Perfect timing! I have been wondering what the heck I’m going to use my weekly pages for this year since I don’t need the timed panning anymore (I use daily pages for to do lists and notes for the day). I definitely got some inspiration and this was so much fun to watch! Thank you!
I have loved playing around with color + texture these past few years. Not always, but more so as I age! Which I find interesting :) Thank you so much for the comment!!
Sure! I collect little paper bits: some receipts, notes or letters from friends, other lists I’ve made elsewhere… I don’t do a great job at putting them in my journal ASAP so usually like once a month I’ll glue them in, wherever there’s space
What do you think of the Avec? [Warning: rambling…I kind of… like the idea of carrying less at once/ like that the colors go well with the Tokyo Metronome cover/ might put a less structured journal with it/ I don’t know. I think it’s the same ish? I don’t know. I keep hoping the think I try will actually “work” for me.] Anyway, I’m going back to enjoying this video.
I have actually never used the Avec but I assume I would love it, as I love the size and layout of the year-long Cousin. Thank you so much for the comment! I love hearing others' thoughts about trying things out. I'm in a similar position of just TRYING STUFF and it's been fun. :)
I wrote a reply but I don’t think it posted and The words are all spent now. I appreciate your reply! Things I think I said in my missing comment: I’m planning to look over my new cousin and weeks and accessories on a twitch stream sometime around Friday or so, if you’d like to come chat about ideas. I got them to try journaling and tracking habits and continue personal growth, as well as playing with fountain pens and ink. Anyway, I’ve been looking into stickers to help me track things that won’t fit in the yearly spread, for example. And I need to watch this video again now that I’m looking at stickers to get and thinking of spreads to do. 🥰

Thank you so much!! Wild and chaotic spreads are the best kind, in my opinion ;)
Now contemplating a hobo day free just to see if I like the paper because these are TOO INSPIRING

Hi Michelle! I use a Canon Ivy - it's linked in my Amazon Storefront below!
@@clairefromonline Thanks for replying!
@@michellephillips6317 You're welcome! :)
Hi! May I ask what “Paper Pasting” mean in the monthly planning routine?
Sure! I collect little paper bits: some receipts, notes or letters from friends, other lists I’ve made elsewhere… I don’t do a great job at putting them in my journal ASAP so usually like once a month I’ll glue them in, wherever there’s space
What pen are you using?
What do you think of the Avec?
