I've wanted to make a DIY using gemstones/crystals for quite some time and came up with this idea when filming the DIY lip glosses from my lip diy compilation vid. I realised that many of my viewers deal with anxiety (same here!) and I'd love to make more content that can help you on an emotional or spiritual level. I was really into crystals and esoterica, when I was a teenager and they genuinely helped me with my anxiety.
Of course, the healing properties mentioned are beliefs held by crystal practitioners and not meant to replace conventional medical advice or treatment. However anxiety has such a strong psychological component that whatever you feel works for you, WILL actually work. Having a calming object like this lip gloss can make you feel more in control of stressful situation and more confident of your own abilities to succeed. This type of spiritual approach is gentler to your mind and body than resorting to medication or trying to push away stress using food, cigarettes or alcohol.

*Glycerine/glycerol is a thick, non-toxic and odourless liquid used in medicine, cosmetics or baking. You should be able to get it from pharmacies or baking shops around the world. Please note that you can't dilute normal lip gloss using glycerine so you should use either one or the other (if you mix them, you end up with lava lamp gloss).
** "Fractionated" simply means coconut oil that stays liquid at room temperature and you can get this from large health food stores or online. If you live in the hot country, then normal coconut oil will be liquid at room temperature, which is also perfectly fine to use.

Hope you enjoyed this DIY lip balm / DIY lip gloss compilation!! I loved making this and will be posting more DIY beauty hack / life hack videos soon. This is also my first anti-stress / anti-anxiety DIY, and I will be making more DIY ideas using crystals in future!
These are very aesthetically pleasing to me and I'll most likely be making an amethyst one.
Please please please! Research the crystals you're putting in to the gloss before you start your project. A lot of crystals are safe to touch and hold but are not safe for ingesting. By putting them in gloss you're risking 2 different things: 1) the crystal may be a softer type and break down in water like Malachite or Selenite or 2) when introduced to fluids they become toxic like Malachite compounded with Azurite.
Also, watch out with sellers too. Sometimes the quartz you're buying is just glass shards. Please be careful and happy crafting with this beautiful idea!

I love the fact that you used crystals in this video! I'd like to mention that every crystal has physical, emotional, and metaphysical properties.
Also, PLEASE be careful with the crystals, some of them are not meant to be infused directly, which is why there are two ways to make elixirs (crystal-infused water). So check the information of each crystal online before creating lip glosses! Rose Quartz and Amethyst are safe, so don't worry about that :)

@Aleah Hamid nope, they're natural. Amethyst and rose quartz are very common and easy to find so they don't even have to make imitations of them. So they aren't fake

UnforgivenAngel reiki will help to. It is spiritual healing . It allows you to let go of all your thoughts, as well as let you be calm and forgot about your thoughts. Reiki basically cleanses you. ( you might think I'm crazy, but seriously. My mom does reiki so that's how I know ) you should try it. You can either do bars, which allows you to talk about your problems while pressing on your head points. It does something that relaxes you. You should try either one of them. Reiki if you're lucky, is thirty dollars. But usually the price is fifty dollars. It might be the same for bars. But it's more rare, to find reiki people who can do bars. Or if you want to do reiki for yourself, and not pay money. You could take reiki classes. I really hope this helped. :)

Remember never self diagnose yourself with things like anxiety or depression. If you think you have it, get a proper diagnosis.
And if you are diagnosed with it and struggle with it, get therapy or prescribed medication.
Yes That Is Shane Absolutely. This video isn't meant to replace medicine or have people resort to it instead of getting medical help. It's meant to be a relaxing exercise. You don't necessarily have to believe that any of these stones do the things people claim they do, but to some people, it holds symbolism and positivity. And positivity is a great way to combat the nasty emotions that mental illness can bring. So even if it's just a placebo effect, if it works, it works. And if not, this is still a pretty mellow and relaxing pass time.

Depression and Anxiety aren't emotions.... They're mental illness. Not termenal, but at times they are needed to be medicated to keep it under control.
"Sad" and "nervous" is their less extreme equivalent.
You need to diagnosed with depression and anxiety... (Not really but that's how you'll ACTUALLY know) one can't selfproclaim their mental illness
also btw! if anyone of u guys are planning to do this with gemstones please be careful! do not add gemstones like malachite or selenite! please do not mix any gemstones in lipgloss before u research them and make sure none of them are just glass shards! some gems are safe to put in because they have protective layers on them to stop making the gloss toxic.

Annoys me when people just throw the mental illness 'anxiety' around saying they have it just because they are abit shy or think its good to get attention from it😴 no one understands that anxiety isn't just being abit nervous every now and again, it's being scared to even answer the phone to people you don't speak to often, not wanting to leave the house, waking up in the middle of the night having panic attacks and not wanting to go to sleep until it gets to a certain time in the morning because you're scared if you fall asleep when it's dark something terrible is going to happen

its different for everyone. and you can have anxiety without having a mental illness. what you described isnt regular anxiety, its more of a general paranoid/anxious disorder. ive been in counseling for years and have been properly diagnosed by professionals and am on meds. trust me, everyone has anxiety. EXACTLY! I have separation anxiety and people think anxiety is being anxious.
You need to be very careful as to which stones you place in the lip gloss as some can be toxic to human consumption. The only really dangerous one that comes to mind at the moment is Malachite which can dilute itself into the liquid that holds it.

Yes, Malachite, as it is copper ore, is known for causing copper poinsoning from copper pipes in the old days. it can even turn your skin green and cause you to vomit excessively until you pass out! xD

please, PLEASE do some actual research before you do this. Some gems are very toxic and will almost certainly leech into the lip product. Malachite, for example, would be a very bad idea. some stones have lead, arsenic, etc and you don't want to be eating that. Additionally, some minerals melt in water over time which could not only make your lip balm toxic but will also ruin the stone.
It sounds really great to say "follow your intuition" but in this case your intuition could get you very sick or possibly dead, so please research thoroughly what the chemical composition of any stone you will be putting into a lip balm is and don't poison yourself.

Do you have any life hacks for sleep? Not being calm, just sleep. I have trouble sleeping for some reason, but I've never really felt stressed or anything like that.
Fennekchu Try cutting out electronics and harsh artificial lighting for about an hour before bed. Electronics expecially use blue light which disrupts your brains ability to regulate your sleep cycle (an app called twilight can be used to change the warmth of your phones lighting to make less of an impact). I also find that doing a bit of easy bed time stretches with a low white noise (they have apps for white noise) helps loosen my body and wipe my mind of random thoughts.
I have sleeping problems too so I highly suggest Melatonin chewables. They are an all natural sleeping aid and I take them 20 minutes before I go to bed. You can find it in the med section at Target or Walmart
Fennekchu try reiki. It calms you and makes you sleep better. Or if you want, drink " camomile" tea. It helps you sleep better, and makes you very relaxed and sleepy.

Im in middle school, and we have to read 1,000 pages every marking period. Im in challenge so I have to read 1,500, which doesnt help... Im at 700 pages currently and I have to read the total by Wednesday, which is my birthday. I just got a hamster and a dog, I have a bunch of art due on instagram, and Im just overall STRESSED. I had anxiety when I was 7 and I took pills against it, but I think I'm devolping a focus disorder. I cant seem to read for more than 5 minutes at a time without getting distracted. I don't have anxiety, but I do take comfort in the things associated with anxiety relief. I'll have to get some of theses crystals as I think they are beautiful and very calming to touch and see. I think they would help me in school, as I struggle with certain things and sometimes need that extra boost of encouragement.

Hi! These are "semi precious stones" or "gemstones" and they are definitely real. However they're actually quite common so they shouldn't be expensive especially if you get them from crafting or esoteric shops.

No, they aren't actually really that precious, though people like me and Joana, we can consider them precious for their abilities and beauty.

Please be weary if you, a viewer, plan on getting deeper into the stone hobby, especially with projects such as these!
Stones that are soluble, like lapis lazuli or gypsum, could potentially cause health problems. And some stones will lose their coloration if submerged in water or left in light, such as quartz and opals! Rarer stones can even potentially be lethal if inhaled or consumed!
To those planning on using real gems and not plastic based pseudo gems, please research beforehand for any potential safety hazards, and try to always buy from a reputable seller.
Colors may encourage good health, but its best to use plastic based gems for these type of projects; the stone hobby can be a very dangerous and/or unnecessarily pricey one to uneducated newcomers.

Hi. I have a bit of a craft problem. Since you are very crafty I decided to maybe ask you for help. So I got a lot of glue for making slime. But when I made it, it didn't turn to slime. It mixed together. I tried like 10 different times with different methods.Yet none of them worked. I got some powder laundry detergent since before I used liquid. Yet it still didn't work. I used elmers glue to make it and I've used the same laundry detergent before and it worked. But now it just doesn't work. I just thought about asking you because you make a lot of slime. Lunaandcindy you need a pva glue. if it's not pva it won't work.
Lunaandcindy some companies are starting to take borax out of liquid detergent so that might be the cause
Hi try with baking soda and contact lens solution that have boric acid or sodium borate.

AdzyFee anyone can wear lip gloss :) an alternative can use a small glass cork bottle (which I probably will do bc I don't wear lip stuff often)

You can make a necklace with a ring holding the stones as a pendants and hide it under your shirt or make a bracelet man jewelry is in right now

Not sure if you can get the necklaces at Michael's. I've never been there because my country doesn't have Michael's. The gold is not compulsory, it only adds beauty and calming effect (personal preference)

This worked! I love using this, I had a very big exam coming up for Algebra and I absolutely suck at algebra. I used sodalite and carnelian and gold. I put the gloss on while I studied and on the day of my exam and ended up with an A minus. I recommend using this with every time there is something stressful happening. Thank you Cute Life Hacks!
