  • On 11 March 2023 we see 'The Stratford Flyer', an RTC excursion from Manchester Victoria to Stratford upon Avon.
Filmed arriving at Stafford on time on the Up and Down Goods Loop (the old Royal Mail platform, it pulls forward to take on water, then has to set back behind the signal in order to take the Wolverhampton line, departing about ten minutes later than scheduled.
The train is hauled by West Coast Railways owned LMS Royal Scot class 4-6-0 No. 46115 'Scots Guardsman' with class 47 No. 47804 on the rear.

Glad you managed to get this one Rob and at least it took the rust of the rails in the RM platform I suppose Lol. Cheers, Brian.

I think it actually gets a fair bit of use these days Brian, quite a few freights stop there since it was rejigged into a long loop stretching quite a way back towards the Wolverhampton line, and a regular service from Longport runs round there to head north towards Crewe.
