The Beauty of Grim Dawn

With the announcement of its 3rd expansion, Fangs of Asterkarn, I thought I would take a look at what we already have in Grim Dawn. Not from a gameplay perspective, but aesthetically. People call this game "ugly", "boring" and "old" looking. I disagree.
If you're looking for the latest visuals, the latest tech, nearing the uncanny valley but not falling into it, this is not the game for you, however, you're missing the point. The colours used, the world presented, the direction taken to make each area unique - that is where the beauty lies in Grim Dawn for me.
Grim Dawn and its current expansions, Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods, are stunning in my opinion.
