MacBook sucks. Software engineers even use dell because it's faster and more reliable. Literally had better graphics. Only reason. The MacBook like any other surface laptop, yet it's slower. However, empty materialistic people who just like the apple logo buy it and go broker than the brokest. And that's why dell users are smarter than MacBook users.

You're comparing a High-End Laptop tier laptop to Mid-end looking Low-End device.
Can you run Steam? Can you install windows on it using bootcamp? Can You Get 60-120 fps pc gaming with m1/m2 pro/ultra and intel cpus? and is it more customizable than most operating systems like linux, windows and macos? more NO! MacBooks Has all of this and more. and its not even expensive its just 399-699$ you just cant afford one, i guess you can buy a chromebook but can you even buy a full-functioning windows laptop? meh

First of all, this is the 317 meaning that it's the cheapest Acer due to the 3. The premium Chromebook line starts with a 7. The 714 has an Intel core i3 or i5 15th gen Intel with 8 gigs of RAM and 256GB or 512GB.

It’s funny I actually use my $300AUD HP Chromebook way more than my MacBook. It has touch screen almost the same battery, lighter and I prefer the keyboard lol. And it can actually play mp4s

What's the deal with "single hand lid opening test"? Do you expect designers to put additional weight to the bottom just for that?
I haven't seen a laptop pass this "test" since we moved on from optical media and spinning hard drives.
I have an Asus zenbook. Extremely light weight, no hdd, dedicated gpu, optical drive or anything extremely heavy on the bottom.

Oh wow, it failed the one hand open test. 😂 As a MacBook, iPhone, iPad owner and being a previous fan boy long before you were born I can assure you l prefer my Lenovo Duet over my IPad and MacBook and it costs about a third of the price. Fortunately my company picked up the bill for the Apple stuff because there was no way in hell I would pay that much for tech products that don’t even come with a Sdcard reader. When I was like nine or so my parents brought me a Chromebook I thought I’d be able to play Minecraft but my favorite UA-camrs only to find out the only thing was good for was UA-cam and a Low end games it couldn’t even load Roblox after a couple of years they call it high end

Dont Its way worse, You cant pc-gaming and run way more apps and games, and more useful apps, hell its even less customizable. its just an android impersonated laptop. You're just a weaker android tablet like this and its very useless. You can just use android emulators like bluestack on a full-functioning laptop running windows, linux or macbook, and bam you have a virtual chromeos that is way more fast and powerful than an actual one.
Tired of windows than get a MacBook. Windows can do all of this plus more and you will regret your buy and if you want to play some games get ready to pay 10 monthly subscriptions or play boring mobile games on a virtual machine that runs a 3 year old android version 24/7 that doesn’t have apk support

Thinking about selling my M2 MacBook Pro for one of these. I use Autodesk Maya a lot, which only requires 8GB of RAM. The MacBook is honestly too powerful. ChromeOS can basically do the same thing, and has the right amount of power
DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT DOING THAT. The MacBook will last way longer in the long term and you’ll regret it. Auto desk Maya is better on macOS. And you get all your phone stuff on the thing. Also all windows macOS linux users are all Aryan Chads and all ChromeOS users are subhumans and apes.
Additionally, ChromeOS is way more prone to data loss, as one time the user container was corrupted on my school Chromebook and it had to delete all the my files stuff, and if you have Android VM (play store only no APKs) and Linux VM you will lose all your stuff there as well. It also factory resets always when even one file is one byte incorrect.
I’d just keep the MacBook if you already have it. It’s a fabulous machine. Besides, I guarantee ChromeOS will not give you a good Maya experience. It’s basically just desktop Android. Also, RAM is far from the only computer component. You also have to worry about graphics and processing power.

Only half of all Play Store apps, without any way to install APKs without being the primary user and installing Linux, also it automatically factory resets if a tiny problem is detected, or if the user data is a bit wrong it will force you to delete all the data. The Linux VM is at least good. The worst part is that you cannot shut down the Android VM and it always runs in the background which is not a problem on the higher end Chromebooks but is a big issue on low-end ones.
