@@suzyrebelo I’m gonna try doing them because I decorated a apartment building where I live. There’s four levels and I do the front two as well and backyard. I got decorations everywhere and my apartment shows it but I like the way that came out. There was another one I seen, but I didn’t care for as much as the one you have so I’m gonna work on getting that together.
That's a fantastic idea! They look great and pretty simple to make. The right branches really do add life to this project. Happy decorating! Thanks for sharing.
Hi there. I think I used 10 of them. I just looked up my Amazon order and I bought 12 squares that were 10”x10”. I see them on Amazon now yarmarine 12 pack for $48.99 “artificial boxwood hedge mat” CA$. Hope this helps. This looks great all year long , even Canadian winters! Thanks for the support.
Hi Miss Suzy . Came across your video today and I loved it . Would like very much to try it . I was wondering how many of the 10×10 boxwood sheets did you use ?
Hi there. I bought a package of 12 but I think I only used 20 squares. Each boxwood square was 10” x 10”. I just went on Amazon and the boxwood I bought is no longer available. You’ll have your shop around to get a good price. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.
Hi there. Yes, you can use anything that is thick and you can curve like the noodles. However, I think the noodles are very cost effective. Another good solution , providing you can pick for free, might be using grape vines or other vines that you can bundle and twist. Just a few ideas. Hope this helps Thanks for watching.
I live in central valley of California, We have a swimming pool and the sun desecrates our pool noodles so they must be replaced every year. They even crumble in our hands when we go to throw them away. I am wondering if the black foam pipe insulation would better endure the heat from the hot California sun better since pool noodles simply rot. Suzy how long has your pool noodle spiral tree held up thus far? Unfortunately I have no way of providing shade for them.
Wow. The sun is powerful. I just looked up the materials used for the foam insulation. It looks like they use rubber and tight cell foam. I don’t know if it would stand up to intense sun. There are spray paints that have the uv protection built in, this may help preserve the noodle. My topiary is still perfectly intact and that’s after a few summers and winters. I haven’t moved it since making it. I’m thinking that maybe using vines , wrapped around the coat hanger , to form your base might work. Essentially, create the pool noodle structure using the vines and then add the faux boxwood. The plastic ties are the best to hold everything together. I’ve never tried making it this way , I’m just trying to think of something that can work for your area. I hope this helps and you’re able to create a beautiful topiary.
Also, willow branches. You could create noodle base structure with the branches. They are pliable and easy to twist into shape without needing the wire. I just read that “California is home to over one quarter of the estimated 120 willow species growing in North America”. Just a thought.
Hi there. I’ve never used this on moss but krylon makes a clear indoor outdoor spray sealent. There are other brands too. The service staff in the paint department can be very helpful too. Hope this helps. Let me know how it works out.
Hello. You might find the greenery at a dollar store. I have seen faux plastic grass or boxwood squares there. Perhaps faux plastic moss. You could also use silk ivy garland from the dollar store. You’ll get a different look but overall has the same decorative appeal. Hope this helps.
I like the way you put the topiary together and, the way you explained it step by step
Thank you I’m glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.

If you are out of season for pool noodles you can buy pipe insulation. ❤️
