You left off a biggie.... cutting a slit and putting it over the edge of a 5-gallon bucket for a porta-potty toilet seat. Don't forget to line the bucket with a bag first.
For those who live in colder climates and experience ice and snow during the winter, pool noodles work terrific as windshield wiper blade covers! (Of course, only when vehicle is parked.)
I never would have thought of that but what a great idea keep them from icing over. I don't live in cold country anymore but if I move back I'll have to remember this one.
@@renerenault7467 There is conflicting debate on this, but it has been suggested that raising the blades up off the windshield might damage the springs in the wiper arm assembly; and/or possibly damage the windshield if the wiper arms are not lowered again with care.
Great ideas. I also poke holes through them using a screw driver. I attach to end of a hose and voila- instant drip hose for watering vegetables. Can also be used vertically as a fun sprinkler for kids.
I watched this out of curiosity and actually found some great ideas. I love to keep my front and back doors open but when the breeze catches them they slam. I love the idea of the noodle to keep the doors open. I'm going to buy a noodle TODAY. Thanks.
With the pandemic going on I cut a 12 to 18 inch piece of pool noodle cut it down the middle. Use it over the handles of a shopping cart. When finished I take it off wipe it down with a disinfectant wipe put it in the trunk for next time.
3 super fat ones across your roof make an awesome way to transport a canoe without an expensive rack. When strapping to your car make sure the nose is slightly pointed down.
Thought I would share my noodle idea...cut to length. Split down the center. Wrap in a thin batting and a fabric of choice. Then slip over crib railing so littles don't chip the coating or swallow nasty stuff.
No chips should be able to be gnawed off, if it is, return it or if its g-ma's old crib, please reconsider, slats are not to safety standard and paint do chip and peel and might have Lead
i'm going to put one on my driver's seat shoulder strap. 🚙🚗🚓 no matter what car i drive or ride in, the seat belt cuts into my collar bone &/or neck, leaving sore red lines in my skin every time i drive❕
I buy sliders at the auto parts store. They are the color I want that matches my car interior. They are flat, velvety soft and the seat belt slides inside them instead of sawing on my neck. One for each of the belts in the whole car
I put it behind my back then have to pull it back in front cuz I hate it so much. I am too cheap to buy the 'sliders' but I have pool noodles around. I bought them for a trip to Cali. I saw a diff hack where you ROLL your clothes around them before you put them in the suitcase. It eliminates wrinkles!! It worked great for blouses and dresses.
they make seat belt covers...my family uses the small ones designed for baby car seats...they are easy to wash and stay pretty good...even keeps the center seat belt from falling into the crack and going "missing"
I use neon yelloe over my tent lines. We camp in tight quarters so it's kept many campers from tripping. Great for awning arms, too. Saved a few bumps on heads. 😊
I am a quilter and can see myself making nice removable covers for seat belt pillows for my granddaughters. I also could make a nice cover for the foot stool. Great ideas! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing, I'm looking forward to trying a few of these options, that you so kindly posed. I use pool noodles to set a broken or sprained leg of my goats, and it worked very well much better than a cast. Cheers
Really enjoyed the "Daddy" view point in many of your noodle hacks. I work with children and have one coffee table that I was always taping the corners of... only to have them pop off. Fun ideas. I do have pool noodles in my sewing /craft room to wrap wet fabrics/ wool felt around for drying, and can be used for tie-dyeing ideas too.
I love the way to keep the doors open one... always so worried about my little one getting they finger stuck in the door. they have this new game called slam the door repeatedly n scare mommy... i have put blankets over the door they pull it down. My younger brother was an escape artist by the time he was a year old and could walk. He could unlatch windows, crawl through and drop to the ground. He used a broom handle to unlatch a screen door and escaped. He would do that when Mom thought he was sleeping in his crib. She was really stressed with him!
@@gingereaves4097 I understand your mother’s dilemma. I too had a little boy who was a silent escape artist! I am happy to report we both survived, just barely.
Take a pool noodle, cut to length, and split it on one side. Slide it over the edge of a hand saw blade both to protect the blade and protect hands and fingers.
Pool noodles rock! So many great uses. Thank you. I just wish my local stores would carry them all year round instead of just in the spring and summer. I bought 6 when they were in stock last spring and they're gone already - used for cool non-pool stuff.
Our house that I own was built in 1913. Thanks for the sealing the bottom of a door idea. I have used foam strips with adhesive around the door frame that works pretty well. It won't work at the bottom of the door but your 'pool noodle' idea will work on both the back door and the side door. Our front door is blocked off by my wife's plants and I sealed the door in the frame with silicone caulk. There's no draft either in or out. The back and side doors both have cold air come in at the bottom in winter. It looks like I can now fix that.
We put a pool noodle around almost the entire rim of one of those white utility buckets when we go camping to mimick a toilet seat. put the toilet paper roll on the wire handle and TaDa! an outdoor toilet
One time, OK more than once I stubbed my toe on a bed leg. So I just cut a piece of the pool noodle and covered the beds leg. Now, no more stubbing my toes.
I found most - not all - of the pool noodle projects to be things that Hubbs and I don’t need or wouldn’t use. We’re 60s, no children; but I do applaud the child-safety pool noodle projects. The one that I just LOVE: pool noodle under-door-draft-blocker. Goodness, our house is 75 years old and so drafty that I’m ready to get those old, too-big jeans and start cutting! No pool noodles available this time of year in our tiny town, but the hardware store has pipe insulating foam tubes. Thanks!
People who restore and sell cast iron skillets will cut up pool noodles to put around the edges and over the handle for shipping. Despite how tough cast iron can be, it can still break when thrown around carelessly and not properly packaged.
Nice video, I used pool noodles cut to length for the springs on my trampoline just slide each spring in, no need to slit the noodle, Way better than the crap blue surround matting
I've seen this hack in photos....I like the idea of putting them in a pattern based on how many colors you have available. Then it looks more 'factory made' than homemade.
I'm a pool noodle fan, also. Most dollar stores have (in the pool section) little styrofoam kick boards. I have two, green, shaped like frogs. I use those for under my knees, and on my gardening stool (I have lumbar spinal stenosis which makes life very challenging) between my tush and the stool seat. I also put one of them under my elbows as I work on my raised garden beds. I keep a couple in my house so if I need to clean my clothes washer's filter, I have something soft on which to kneel. They are way less expensive than the hardware/gardening store kneeling pads, and last just as long. :-)
Awesome ideas. I winterized my windows with pool noodles this winter. I put them everywhere there was a spot letting air in and also around my ACs and of course had to slit and cut some to size accordingly.
I have a bad back (middle & lower) and I use my regular sized noodle to sleep on at night especially when I'm having a really bad time with the pain. I position the noodle straight down my spine area and use a thin pillow or a small towel for my head. I don't know how but when I wake up the pain is pretty much gone! I LOVE several of your other idea's for noodle use as well and plan to go today and purchase a few more noodles. I know the noodle makers use all the bright colors for the kids in the pool but perhaps they should consider making some in adult colors for use around the house! Just say'n! Thanks for your video! Great job...
Dollar Tree @ Halloween they receive black, orange, purple, & lime green. @ Christmas they receive red, white, & a regular green. U.S. 4th of July & Memorial day they receive red, white, & medium blue. Hope this helps someone plan a head.
Using some nylon cord and about 10 to 15 pool noodles, tie them together by running the cord through each noodle as they lay side by side, then weave the cord and the noodles to form a pool raft. You can make it as big as you need it.
nice job! you can also buy noodles @ end of summer really cheap & store them for winter. I bought some to put over faucet/pipes during winter. not sure if it would wrk in Northern states, but wrks in Tx. thanks
You forgot the one where you put noodles over each spring on a trampoline. It helps especially when the pad falls off due to being damaged by the sun and kids.
I like the large pool noodle under the sofa. I’m going to use that idea under my desk to keep the robotic vacuum from coming in contact with the computer wires.
I have another one for you. If your head board is a little loose - to keep it from banging on the wall - put a couple pieces of pool noodle between the headboard and the wall. 👍🏻
Thanks for that one. I just bought property to homestead. Two friends came up with their travel trailer and one of them hits her head on everything possible. A hidden talent I never know about.. I grabbed a pool noodle for the rim of my 5 gallon bucket at Dollar general. Since it’s end of season they were ~50 cents , so I grabbed a handful thinking they’d come in handy. She laughed at me. Wait until I go down and line all the hazards on her camper. Who’s laughing now? Thanks to all for the great ideas.
I have water retention in my legs and should keep them elevated. Can’t very well put the recliner in the kitchen where the family is, although I did try it. NOT GOOD. I will bundle, tape and make a footstool for my legs with the noodles. I’m in a wheelchair so I can take it everywhere I need to be.this will be grand, thanks so much.
They also make great rifle rest on those metal ladder stands you hunt out of. The stands usually come with a cheap little foam pad or noting at all. The large ones will bring a rifle up for very little bending over to your scope.
Another use: Cut short sections (1-3 ft) of orange or yellow pool noodles to slip over the end of ground stakes (for example, tent stakes). Gives a visual warning cue to help avoid tripping on the 'hidden' stakes out of the normal line of sight. I also put 6 inch sections on the boundary marker stakes at our property corners. Helps prevents running them over them with the mower. They last 2-3 years outdoors before needing replacement.
Like the suggestions. I slit a single pool noodle longways and literally slid it underneath and attached to the bottom of the bathroom door to hold the heat from the space heater this winter. Works well, too and no fabric to get nasty.
Some great tips, and some replies were good tips too. Not sure I’d try the noodle sticking out from the bike as some hoon could aim to get it. A pillowcase would be good around the noodle footrest.

A couple more hacks for you: 1. My dad was in a hospital bed before he passed. I took pool noodles and covered the metal bed rails. That protected him in case he rolled into them or hit them with his arm. 2. My bed doesn't have a footboard and I frequently bang my shins on the frame. I cut small sections of pool noodles and stuck them over the frame ends. No more bruised shins.
Great idea. My little granddaughter, 16 mos. old, was sliding down the side of my bed to get down and her knees hit the frame! OW! We couldn't figure out what happened. I slid my hand down the side to see what hurt her and the side of the base bows IN and she hit the metal frame. I felt so horrible. Pool noodles are going on the bed frame.
you can do it on pretty much any table...and the picnic table cloth holders help too if it's a really thick table...just tape them in place and slide the pool noodle over the holders
Reading through the comments, I just got an idea: for bicycles at night (some have to do that for various reasons) put a pool noodle on the cross bar(s) from front to back, with reflective stickers or paint on it; it's a larger area of reflectivity so the bike is much more easily seen. (I would suggest strongly that a reflective jacket also be worn for more safety. )

Great idea about the lawn mower handle. I'm definitely going to try that this summer!!! 😊
I have one hack that I love and want to share. I cut them to size and make simple fabric covers for them. I then put them in my boots to keep them from folding over. works great.
+V Ashley nice idea
Me too! But minus the fabric covers.
Great tip! But why the fabric covers?
I also use pool noodles for my boots! But no covers! I have 20+ boots! NO time to sew covers! Gotta go buy more boots! 😂
You can also slip them in tube socks for the same purpose
You left off a biggie.... cutting a slit and putting it over the edge of a 5-gallon bucket for a porta-potty toilet seat. Don't forget to line the bucket with a bag first.
My dad does this when we go camping ⛺️
I do this when I go camping too.
Omgosh excellent idea thx
Schtuke, I do the same when fishing as a comfortable seat
that I can store gear in.
Wow..thank u 4 that info 💞
Camping bucket (toilet) they put it around the edge so the seat will be more comfortable to sit on
For those who live in colder climates and experience ice and snow during the winter, pool noodles work terrific as windshield wiper blade covers! (Of course, only when vehicle is parked.)
or just lift the blades up on the hinge they all have so you can pull them up from the window
@@sarahrobertson6936 I wish I had that option!! (i.e. not live in a cold country anymore)
@@-D-W I do understand but I have to say you can put more clothes on in the cold but this heat just makes you miserable and agitated at times
Great ideas. I also poke holes through them using a screw driver. I attach to end of a hose and voila- instant drip hose for watering vegetables.
Can also be used vertically as a fun sprinkler for kids.
Wow...love the drip hose idea!
I watched this out of curiosity and actually found some great ideas. I love to keep my front and back doors open but when the breeze catches them they slam. I love the idea of the noodle to keep the doors open. I'm going to buy a noodle TODAY. Thanks.
Glad to help
Mounting a noddle on the hinge edge of a door will put a tremendous amount of pressure on the hinges if the door is pushed closer to closed.
My poor dog is so scared of the doors slamming on a beautiful summer day and a breeze comes through the house omg problem fixed
I use a jumbo pool noodle across the foot of my queen size bed to keep the heavy blankets and quilts off my arthritic feet. It works great!
With the pandemic going on I cut a 12 to 18 inch piece of pool noodle cut it down the middle. Use it over the handles of a shopping cart. When finished I take it off wipe it down with a disinfectant wipe put it in the trunk for next time.
also, a 6in piece slit to cushion your hands carrying 4 bags in each hand
Leave it q little longer so people will stay a distance from you
@@butterflyforeve 😂
Brilliant, seriously!!
Why not just wipe the handle of shopping cart? Easier to carry a couple wipes. Or just wear gloves.
Come on,...who gave thumbs down??? Very creative video,..thinking outside the box👉🏻Good job!
Plantgarden88 just goes to show that for every 1000 people there are 73 butts.

There are some great ideas here. I see some pool noodles in my future!
i'm going to put one on my driver's seat shoulder strap.
I have little clips, I guess they are sliders but they save my neck. It hooks to the waist part and then you slide the vertical one into the holder.
I like mine also, fits on the seat belt, long lasting and convenient.
I use neon yelloe over my tent lines. We camp in tight quarters so it's kept many campers from tripping. Great for awning arms, too. Saved a few bumps on heads. 😊
Add some glow in the dark paint for extra safety
I am a quilter and can see myself making nice removable covers for seat belt pillows for my granddaughters. I also could make a nice cover for the foot stool. Great ideas! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing, I'm looking forward to trying a few of these options, that you so kindly posed. I use pool noodles to set a broken or sprained leg of my goats, and it worked very well much better than a cast. Cheers
For the bike, I thought you were going to put a noodle over the bar so when boys land on it they don't go OUCH if you know what I mean....LOL.
My brother did that.... bad
Girls do that too. Not just boys. And it hurts girls just as much if not more. We can actually bleed down there from doing that. Just sayin.
cyberi4a me too, lol!
@@kandeekane1 Yes! I learned to ride on a boy's bike. The bruising "down there" was so painful.
Slip a noodle over a standup paper towel holder, cut to size & use for straight pin holder. Can cover w/cloth, if desired.
I love the way to keep the doors open one... always so worried about my little one getting they finger stuck in the door. they have this new game called slam the door repeatedly n scare mommy... i have put blankets over the door they pull it down. I have bought latch hooks they ripped it out the wall n 1 second. didn't know toddlers were so strong.
Thankyou thank you thank you... this will really help.
@@robinpesek3657 LOL! I am glad. My brother is alive and well. Mom used to say he gave her most of her grey hair!
Take a pool noodle, cut to length, and split it on one side. Slide it over the edge of a hand saw blade both to protect the blade and protect hands and fingers.
Good idea...my machete has no cover
That's a good way to transport long knives w/ missing covers, as well! Good one!
I loved this. Clever. I use a pool noodle to cover the metal legs on my daughter futon. No more bashes toes.
I do a lot of shipping of breakables I cut them in half and line the boxes with them
Put some over your car, then tarp over the noodles before hail beats the car, to prevent hail damage to your car... Texas
Papa Jeff I will definitely do this!
Excellent idea, thanks!
Very cool! Thank you! I personally liked the hanger hack
Pool noodles rock! So many great uses. Thank you. I just wish my local stores would carry them all year round instead of just in the spring and summer. I bought 6 when they were in stock last spring and they're gone already - used for cool non-pool stuff.
The hardware store has black ones for pipe insulation available year round. Some are already split, so you don't have to cut them!
Try Dollar Stores. Ours has them year round and we have snow through mid-May. 😊 Bought one today at Dollar Tree.
These are just SO helpful, and economical. Thanks for sharing! : )
+J Jo Thank you
Our house that I own was built in 1913.
One noodle split might work without the fabric that can get dirty.
Great ideas sometimes a little far-fetched but I like him he gives me ideas you’ve done a great job
We put a pool noodle around almost the entire rim of one of those white utility buckets when we go camping to mimick a toilet seat. put the toilet paper roll on the wire handle and TaDa! an outdoor toilet
Great idea!
Yes, this is genius! 🚽👍🏻.
Lots of good hacks. I especially liked the bottom door seal.
One time, OK more than once I stubbed my toe on a bed leg. So I just cut a piece of the pool noodle and covered the beds leg. Now, no more stubbing my toes.
+Marina Capri Good idea
Why didn’t I think of this!?! Thank you so much!
Kathy Nelson , Wow! Three years ago I made this comment, and you are so very welcome.

Eva Hartman , I can’t help wondering what does the capital letter M. mean ?
Nice video,
I used pool noodles cut to length for the springs on my trampoline just slide each spring in, no need to slit the noodle,
Way better than the crap blue surround matting

I put it around my ac !
You have discovered the same method the Melt Method uses. Check out Sue Hitzman sometime.
I bought some to put over faucet/pipes during winter. not sure if it would wrk in Northern states, but wrks in Tx. thanks
They should work. After all, the pool noodle originated from pipe insulation. And pool noodles are usually thicker than normal pipe insulation tubes.
wham bam
LOL this is the best idea yet!
I put a couple pieces on the back of my computer desk; no more hitting the wall every few minutes when I move around!
I have tall ceilings in my house. I use a pool noodle (with a cloth wrapped around the end) to catch dust strands where the wall meets the ceiling.
Kewl idea! I like it!
one of the best hacks videos I've seen. Thanks for posting!
Slip a ten inch piece over the side edge of an rv slide out...keeps you from whacking your head.
YES! I was hoping someone would mention this. We camp all the time and I see noodles on the edges of camper slides frequently.
I thought of the very same thing! I need something lower than what most footstools are. I'm on my way to the Dollar Tree!
They work on bars of a potty for elderly. Or on wheelchairs. And on hospital rails.
They also make great rifle rest on those metal ladder stands you hunt out of. The stands usually come with a cheap little foam pad or noting at all. The large ones will bring a rifle up for very little bending over to your scope.
Woah! I think we could come up with as many ways to use pool noodles as we could with ways to use duct tape. Love these ideas!
I wish you were my neighbor. I love coming up with ideas like this. God bless and keep hackin'!
I'd like to put a good word in here about checking the dollar stores.
Dollar Tree.
I just bought a neon yellow one today at a Dollar Tree. $1 🙂
I think you may very well become known as “pool noodle guy”.
Lots of great tips😊
Some great tips, and some replies were good tips too. Not sure I’d try the noodle sticking out from the bike as some hoon could aim to get it.
A pillowcase would be good around the noodle footrest.
yes...he was thinking too much inside the pool...or maybe it was outside the noodle?

Pretty creative! Some of these crack me up. And I'm going to use a couple for sure ☺

Wow ... good ideas .... I like the one for the living room table, so the child will not get cut or hurt .... 🖒🖒
you can do it on pretty much any table...and the picnic table cloth holders help too if it's a really thick table...just tape them in place and slide the pool noodle over the holders
Reading through the comments, I just got an idea: for bicycles at night (some have to do that for various reasons) put a pool noodle on the cross bar(s) from front to back, with reflective stickers or paint on it; it's a larger area of reflectivity so the bike is much more easily seen. (I would suggest strongly that a reflective jacket also be worn for more safety. )
