I’m absolutely 1 of the people who thinks the general release Ariel is slightly better than the D23 doll…per my personal preferences. The top of the D23 visually tracks as “tavern maid” to me. It looks to me like what Ariel would wear as a costume to a renaissance faire. Both dolls are gorgeous, though. 😀

Collector's complaints about their dolls having wonky faces have made me paranoid about the dolls i get having wonky faces. I didn’t use to care about it.
Okay your mini-rant about collectors and screening issues tho. I roll my eyes so hard anytime someone is like “oh no i got my doll and her face is so WONKY, look the eye is slightly higher than the other!” And like… yeah sometimes you can see it and it looks wild. I had an early g3 Frankie who had one eye that was clearly way smaller than the other and you couldn’t unsee it. But like generally I’m just like, no babes that’s just what a doll face looks like to that scale
The first time I read this I thought the rant was going to be different. So I deleted my comment. I mean, getting a doll with a wonky eye REALLY bugs me. And my husband can never see it. So sometimes there are legitimate flaws that won’t bother everyone. The collectors LOOKING for something to criticize and finding a stray lash, that’s kinda lame.
@ i totally get it, when there are genuine “wonk” issues it’s really annoying. But a lot of times i think people are just looking for something to be annoyed by or something to criticize and so they say their doll is wonky when the face is actually perfectly fine.
So they gave Ariel a petticoat, but not Mirabel? Wth. And man you are reminding me of how much I hate the American Girl Disney Princess Collab. Compared to the Disney LE dolls and other American Girl Dolls like Kaya or Kirsten they just suck so so much.

She really is beautiful! I leave a lot of my doll's hair crunchy, especially if they are mostly for display. It keeps it in good shape
