Gotta love a fast AMC ! Always liked the Javelin, was a great road course platform, & Trans-Am was (is?) a monster competition... As I commented before, I ran a Gremlin 78-80 in 1/4 mi, that 401 can be a handfull! Great job, & brought back some memories too... Congrats! & Thanx !
"Can This Racecar Survive 1,000 MILES on the Street Towing a Trailer After Sitting for 40 YEARS???" Why...yes!!! Yes, it can!!! Outstanding!!! It was lovely to see Mobey's air freshener smiling down on the proceedings. I'm certain the fine people from whom you purchased this car are justly delighted as well! Mahalo for sharing another fantastic adventure with us. Aloha!
I am so so impressed that you took that real racecar (and a 40 year old racecar to boot!) and set it up to drive on the street and finished Sick Week!! My hat is off to you and your Dad. So, were you the fastest AMC at Sick Week?
Fastest AMC powered AMC. We beat out our friend Daniel Grubaugh in his 19 second Gucci Hornet Sportabout wagon. Tough competition. 😂 Thanks for watching. Tim Davis, Sally's Speed Shop
Are you planning on going on the other drag and drive events this year? I love the videos of this car, been following along since I found the first video of this beast. The story behind that javelin probably makes it the coolest one on the planet 🤙 can't wait for the next video. Awesome car awesome videos, keep up the amazing content
Loved the Javelin story and the whole series and love that it is AMC powered!! Hopefully we will see more of it again in the future. Awesome work guys!!
I wonder what the biggest you can take an AMC V8 to is.. I'm sure that guy in Kenosha knows. It'd be interesting to see that thing go full on classic Super Stock before you decide to put a 440 or Hemi or something in it. EFI stack injection and a wicked cam and somewhere in the neighborhood of 460-480 ci in would be cool. Unfortunately it seems if you want something like that you have to get someone to make it for you because you can't even buy a tunnel ram for an AMC let alone stack injection manifolds. A 572 440 based engine would be cool someday, something you don't see every day and I know there's companies that make aluminum block 440's... 440 Source being one of the biggest suppliers for the big block with small block ports. (I never got that saying until I compared them to Ford ports and realized how tiny they are.) Though I guess building a 440 based engine is kind of stupid when an aluminum hemi block is the exact same price.
Indy makes a 508 alum AMC crate engine that makes 840hp single carb, the 300cc heads flow better than the 440, with a 4.375 bore they can be made to 540+ cubes so I don't see the point in using a 440.
Congrats on the drive on Sick Week. I'm just curious: Will the back of the hood and scoop need some hold down support during your runs? I noticed the hood flexing upwards.
I cringed when you tapped the valve cover with the ratchet. I had those exact same valve covers on my 1972 Javelin SST 360CI 4spd. I hit it with a wrench and it chipped the cheap Edlebroken valve cover chrome.
Dude, after weighing that little on the scales, then you take it over to have it welded. I hope you told him to use few welds or wire that was light weight. Look at ll that weight you're adding to that car! Is he using the EXACT same amount of metal on each side? If not, your handling is gonna be thrown off!!! Lol Just kidding.
Sick Week is the best. Glad your car made it there and survived the week. I’m sure it only gets faster from here on.
Ok , Thanks for bringing back the Sick Week Shakes Guys...
For a guy to drive and drag an aluminum Rod engine built Over 30 Years takes guts. It also awesome that you and your Dad wrench together
Thanks Brian and thanks for watching!
It arguably wasn’t smart, but worked out well haha
I'm digging pendulum Moby along for the ride. Even if just in spirit.
Glad you had the opportunity to share some time with your father on this event. Sally's Speed Shop had a chance to #WINWITHKSR

Jacob your runs are so smooth. the motor doesn't sound like it's straining at all going low tens. really enjoying the video btw.

Congrats and killer job surviving the week! One of my favorite UA-cam cars!
An epic journey for an epic drag car, I’ve enjoyed the hell out this story, thanks Jacob. 👍
All the hard work is worth it when you get to the end thanks for the ride
Cool Jacob. Glad you’re happy 😊. Now you can drive and not just drag race it.

It should have some rear pins we just didn't get to it yet. Thanks for watching.

I gain a half a second when I run without the air cleaner. You should get into the 10s easily.
Now we've gotta try a few runs without it. 👍🏻 Thanks for watching!

Does the car have an early Mustang II front end with the single lower stamped factory control arms?
It does indeed! It was built in 1984 and has the factory front suspension out of a Ford Pinto haha
Was your Javelin the fastest there? No. Was it the coolest? Yes.
I’ll gladly take that one! 🙌🏼 We certainly felt that way!
Are you guys doing powertour this year
Hopefully... but not in the Javelin. 😂
@@OldTimeRevival just painted my 59 Vette I hope I can show you guys
Where did you get the Moby , air freshener ?
Wow, look at all those chemtrails in the sky.
Thank you soccer mom kevin

Agreed. His dad didn't like it also. 🫤
