Very nice! Just order one, the VOS aged 68 reissue. Got the email it shipped yesterday! Should have it this week. It's my dream guitar and took me a while to work up the nerve to buy it, but im glad I did.

Sounds great, nice playing. It actually looks shiny and new, mercifully! The Murphy Lab ageing thing just strikes me as pretentious, frankly. I still have my 1968 LP Custom and 50 years+ on it's in pretty good shape - nice to see Gibson are re-issuing this model. The slim 60's neck works a lot better for me than the 59 Standard chunky one that is so popular

I have exactly the same spec and am the serial number right after this one in the production sequence. I have been having problems of nail clip size bits of finish flaking off (I find them in the guitar case) and when examining the rear strap button area that’s where they are being lost from the finish. I have had four bits fall off already. Any info on whether this specific serial number has had similar or same problem? Reason I am asking again is that we are sister guitars. My serial number was right after this one for the same spec “Murphy lab 68 light”

You could buy a good car for the price of this guitar. Ridiculous really when you could, for example, buy the Epiphone Inspired by Custom version for a fraction of the price and sound and look as good to 99% of people (most of whom are not guitar nerds) listening (especially if you used the same amp and effects) in a live music situation. While I admit it's a work of art and probably an investment it isn't really a practical tool that you can play without compunction especially outside the home. Should be hung on the wall and admired or locked in a bank vault. To me this doesn't therefore make it a guitar you can take seriously as fundamentally guitars are tools and you shouldn't worry too much about them getting dinged, chipped, banged or even stolen (because they are inexpensive and easily replaceable, which the Epi custom is).
