I just want to say as a lash tech who specializes in lash lifts THANK YOU for talking about how to use the lash curler properly. I have countless clients who use lash curlers and I can always tell because they have chopped off lashes at random spots and the damage is insane to the point where we just tell everyone to never use them because they're never used properly. Seriously, thank you.
By any chance, do you know any less rounded lash curlers, or maybe it's a mistake in my technique? I used both Tarte and Revlon. When I try to go closer to the roots, they would pinch my actual eyelid skin in the corners, with a middle still being about 1/8 inch up from the roots, and I end up with a curl starting at about a third of a lash away from the base.
@@kicunya12try Shiseido, i have big, round eyes and used to use a rounded one because i thought it would fit my eyeshape, it would pull the end lashes out many times. When i switched to Shiseido it has never pulled any lash out and it's not so round :)

I suppose i should have understood that Erin is a high-level professional: i got hooked on this channel by her depth of historical knowledge and technique mastery. Its very nerdy in the best way! As others have mentioned, she's also very down-to-earth, and it's made me feel curious and empowered to play with makeup. I'm 45yo and makeup was always frustrating for me and made me feel kind of unattractive. A lot of these techniques finally make the looks successful and fun!
Did you guys see the NikkieTutorials trying to do a flapper look from a video of Erin and vintage guidebooks? It was a mess, she looked like a child got into her mum's make up again?! Did she make it look like a clown horror show on purpose or is she really not that good? I've seen the vids of when she was younger and she was great! I dunno, maybe I just don't get it? (I do! but, whatever....) lol x
My personal ideal lashes are long and dark and thin and clean looking, so I always prefer the lengthening and stay away from volumizing formulas. I so appreciate you making the distinction between which products are better for different preferences rather than assuming everyone wants the same outcome. My eyes are a little close together so I curl my lashes at an angle outward toward my temples, and aim for a sweep rather than a tight curl, so they're long and swoopy.
on top of the one she recommended, many Asian fiber lashes are excellent for this. I'm the same way, and have switched to pretty exclusively using Chinese waterproof fiber mascaras with the skinniest wands.
@@erinparsonsmakeup I’d have loved to hear a bit about WHY waterproof mascaras function so differently than not waterproof versions - meaning, talk about how waterproof formulas include waxes and film forming ingredients that lock in the curl, and they have no water/water-based ingredients, that cause a curl to drop (or reform a curl after straightening). A tidbit of info that would really help viewers bring the whole message together and understand why mascaras work in different ways. Also explains why waterproof is so challenging to remove - those waxes and film-formers are stubborn!
You’re one of the few UA-camrs that provides incredibly and amazing content. It’s not reliant on new releases, the techniques you use are so well explained and comprehensible, the sharing of the cumulated experience as a legendary makeup artist… Everything is just chefs kiss and as a vintage collector as well obviously the vintage makeup really does it for me as well. It’s so cool to see content like yours with a point of view, substance and knowledge.
Honestly, while I love her for the history. UA-cam channels that are run by actual MUAs will always give you good advice. The problem is many, a majority, of popular channels aren't MUAs.
I am so sorry this comment took so long to write but I e been so busy. Here goes: This so the ONLY tutorial for mascara that has ever explained why you need waterproof mascara if you have very straight lashes! I bought some water proof mascara and my lashes look AMAZING! Holy smokes. Thank you so much for this simple but important tutorial, Erin. I’ve never had such amazing lashes!
I couldn’t find a mascara for YEARS that didn’t run, flake under my eyes, or clump… but I FINALLY FOUND Maybelline skyhigh!!! It’s in a pink tube. The wand is bending and gets mascara on each lash!!!! It makes my long lashes literally touch my eyebrows almost! The tips of my lashes are blonde. It’s an amazing mascara I love it and swear by it!
I’m a guy and have never worn makeup, but I love watching Erin makeup tutorials and historical broad knowledge of this art that goes back thousands of years, thumbs up 👍
I love hearing all about the “ behind the scenes” insider secrets of the beauty industry! I’ve always been super curious about how mascara ads were shot. Please do more of these. You’re the only one I’ve seen talking about it. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for including tips for 4c/curly haired chicks! It's always been a struggle to get my short, unruly, curly eyelashes to look right and now I know what I was doing wrong. I'm 52 and in all my years of doing makeup, reading magazines and watching beauty content online, I've never seen someone include these sorts of tips. I'd watched and loved some of your tik tok videos in the past but didn't even think to check YT for some reason. So glad YT suggested this video.
I love that you aren't afraid of shouting out multiple brands, not just the one you often work for! I didn't know that Maybelline had stopped advertising with lash inserts, good for them! A lot of consumers didn't know what those disclaimers meant.
Omg, what did we do to deserve this masterclass and pro tips and secrets.. Erin, youre not only an amazing mua, but such a great teacher. Thank you for sharing your knowledge ❤
Shiseido eyelash curler is one of the best eyelash curler out there. It fit the eyes perfect and their partial eyelash curler is even better it gets in the corner where you cannot. It's interesting how in every country how we do our makeup. In Korea, there is something we called 'fire straightener' which you take a stick or skewer and heat that up, and you curl your lashes like that, I don't exactly know how to explain cause English is not my first language if anyone is interested you can do your own research, but this helps the lash to last longer, it like styling your hair with heat, cause eyelash is also hair
People have different eyelid/eyesocket and eye sizes/shapes, so which brand whole eyelash curler is the best for a person will vary from person to person. I adore partial eyelash curlers though, to me they're way less of a gamble and feel easier to use.
I have to say, in menopause at 53, hormones and some Botox, tiny bit of filler. And therapy! You are awesome and I so appreciate the great videos about old glamour and how you do every look you are gorgeous
The pride I feel when Erin recommends my all time favorite mascara! I'll only use Loreal Voluminous in carbon black until they stop making it. Feels like I'm doing something right!
Edit: I am dumb. I read that as saying it was discontinued, lol. I love that product, but I am determined to use my Ipsy stash of mini mascaras before buying any more.
Even though I’ve been in the beauty industry for over 20yrs you are the one ARTIST I always learn something amazing and new from Erin! Brains & Beauty ❤
A good way to curl your lashes I learned in FX school, when your terrified of lash curlers like I am, you can use a warm spoon to lift them up. When I do my lashes I like using the tip of the wand to get into the inner corner lashes. I love sculpting the lashes to where it looks natural but also how I would draw them on if I was doing an illustration. Combing through the mascara if there is noticeable clumps. I get asked if I wear falsies all the time 😝 Makeup really is an art.
I do the tip thing too, otherwise I'd never be able to get my ends or corners. I have never seen an influencer do this. I was like, idk how they are getting it all on there lol 😂
My makeup mentor started his career in the 80’s - he was a big proponent of the warm spoon trick too. I remember watching him pull a spoon and a lighter out of his kit when I was helping him on a shoot and wondering where exactly he was going 😂
@@TheAzerath haha yep! It works just fine :) I also am WAY too scared to use a lash curler on someone, I’m afraid I’ll end up lash torching them and rip them out out something. So me discovering the spoon trick was like 🤯
I was scrolling through the comments to see if anyone else is terrified of lash curlers. I could never use them, I can’t even watch the part where she uses them in the video, so thanks for the tip. A spoon seems safe, I can try a spoon.
I lash curl every single day been doing it for over 30 years and I have single handedly figured out all of these tips on my own from years of trial and error and it’s so awesome to know that Erin recommends these same techniques that I recognize as my own secrets to perfect lashes 😂 and yes waterproof is the way to go and my favorite mascara is L’Oréal telescopic lift hands down my all time favorite.
Hiya Erin! Tried all these techniques, my lashes are hopeless at this age, 63. Lost my thick, straight lashes during MEANopause😕, haven’t had any luck since w/ mascara. There was a Korean one I loved back about 20 yrs called “Fairy Drops” that actually started to keep them curled even after removal; then it disappeared from Sephora (still on Amazon but don’t recall which one!) When in my 20s-30s I wore false lashes all the time, now can’t be bothered. However, found Kiss Falscara system to work really well for me. I’ve always put lashes on under lashes not on my lid (much more comfy, doesn’t feel heavy) & these are designed to work that way, last 10-14 days & best of all I’m not allergic to the glue! Since my eyes are more hooded now, I can use the shorter lashes & it really opens my eyes; I even use the ones for the bottom lashes. No mascara needed! Thanks for the Milani liner suggestion, I’m going to try it as *everything* winds up under my eyes even if it’s waterproof, likely eye anatomy (big, round eyes, deep set), so frustrating! TFS, love all your content! Jet 😘🧡🎸🎶⚡️🏍🦋
I use two L’Oréal products, both in blackest black: telescopic followed by voluminous lash paradise. The first one really separates and lengthens the lashes and the second one pumps them up. I don’t curl my lashes because every time I do, I hurt myself. So, admitting defeat, I’ve decided unruly looks just fine for me and they’re curly enough without help. I may be lying to myself to help myself feel better and I’m ok with that.
This is my first time hearing about dry oils! Thank you for explaining! I love the passion you have for your work! Max Factor had an amazing waterproof mascara that was second to none for me 💖
Hey! Former makeup artist here, and found your comment and thought I could add some helpful info re dry oils. They were kinda a precursor to the current cleansing balm formula that is really popular now. Back when I used to work for MAC, they had a great one and also did travel sizes in the MAC Minis that was so fab. Shu Uemera definitely pioneered this dry oil formula for the western market and then cleansing balms essentially took over. But the concept is the same, in that it's an oily formula that you rub in, then water breaks it down into a milky texture that rinses off easily. Either a balm or dry oil with a Makeup Eraser cloth is gamechanging for makeup removal and I literally never use makeup wipes any more because these two things exist. Hope you enjoy whatever new thing you might try! I personally use the Elemis Cleansing Balm now which is a bit of a splurge item, but lasts forever, turns oily easily without clumps and smells divine. Hope this helps!
i absolutely ADORE everything about you/your online presence - the kind of content you post, the way that you communicate, just the whole vibe you give off. you explain things so well and in such a thorough way, and considering so many different kinds of people and points of view. i get so excited every time i see you’ve posted a new video!
I think we've forgotten the beauty of makeup. We've forgotten how to curl our lashes and work with mascara. It seems everyone only likes falsies. But I'm a mascara girl lol
Same here! I've never even tried falsies nor do I want to. No shade to people who do, but I just can't get past the fact that most of them look fake. I can always tell when someone's wearing them and to me it's just not a good look, especially when they are over the top huge or in weird styles. They look to me like caterpillars glued onto the eyes. lol
@@AlisonInCT1971 the obvious false lashes are meant to look obvious, some people like that style on themselves. It's a more theatric style, similar to really blinding cheek highlighters, intense colorful blushes that can even be colors natural blushes aren't (yellow blush for instance) and unnatural eyeshadow colors like blue and so on. That said, I'd personally go crazy if I had to wear false lashes. I can barely wear rings on my fingers, it took me a lot of active training to get used to wearing lipstick as an older teen, and I have a hard time dealing with the feeling of thicker foundation on skin. I am pretty impressed with how people can wear any natural or unnatural false lashes, even though I know it feels very different to them than me.
So lovely to hear you actually speak! Yes, you say volumes with your posing, but great voice. Love the history lesson. Even an old queen can learn something! Many thanks!
I'm in the makeup industry and have watched numerous MuA, your so precise with giving informative tutorials I enjoy watching and learning from you, thank you.🎨💄
The Etude House Dr Mascara Fixer is great at holding curl and it’s not super hard to get off! It’s a primer so you can use any mascara on top. It does dry pretty quickly so can be a little hard to build volume on top of but in terms of curl holding it’s unmatched!
I have stick straight thin lashes like yours, and over the years I’ve learned how to get a proper curl out of mine just from trial and error. While watching your video, I realized all of your tips are exactly what I’ve learned!! It’s soooo so true! I don’t use false extensions but they look so stunning despite how subtle they are. It’s completely true that any non-waterproof or non-wax formula totally destroys any curl in my lashes, so I only use waterproof formulas also. The L’Oréal voluminous waterproof formula is great but I’d say the L’Oréal Voluminous Lash Paradise waterproof is my top favorite; I’ve gone back to it again and again. It does get clumpy but I’m one of those people that likes a little bit of clump. Something else I do is I take the applicator of my mascara and just lightly brush it against the very tips of my lashes to make them look a bit longer, that way I’m not just coating the base and mid length of my lashes. Perfect tutorial - thank you Erin!!!
Best mascara/lash video I have seen. I love the fact you use drugstore brands. Im not a false lash lady as im shite at putting them on plus i wear glasses so too long sticks to lens. Im a vintage girl (in style and age lol. Im 52) and love big lashes but always get smudging no matter what mascara i use even waterproof
I've been using the techniques that you outlined in this video for months now and it has really made a huge difference in the look of my lashes. thank you so much for the resources!
In the past when I was younger and didn’t need to use waterproof mascara. But in last 2 years my lashes need a bit more. I saw your video on IG few months ago and your technique works so well!
I love your vintage shorts and this is the first full video I've watched. THANK YOU!!!!!! I'm 57, and can't bring myself to wear false lashes because I don't want to be that old lady at work trying to stay young. I love and thank you for showing me how to curl my whimpy lashes. After watching you add the individual lashes, I'm going to have to try that. Keep being your beautiful self.
She really is the beauty influence I’ve been waiting for. She is a mature woman, as I am ( I’m definitely more mature 😉) and has got the credentials to influence. I love her videos on the history of make up and she executes with perfection.
First of all, I can't believe we are getting these tips for free from an absolute pro in the industry! Thank you, Erin! My favorite mascara: Lancome Monsieur Big Waterproof. Gives both volume and length, and holds the curl for ages!!! Even when I have (accidentally) slept with it on, my lashes still looked great the next day lol
I used to work for Clinique and the High Impact is known for being a buildable formula. I love that you use that and the Milani liner. I used to use Makeup Forever Aquaresist but,I found the Milani liner. My favorite eyelash curler is the Shiseido curler! ❤ By the way, Surratt Beauty is my favorite brand. I love Troy Surratt!
See this is why I love you. you always have the best videos. Always so helpful and formative. you're always promoting and pushing old techniques that a lot of us grew up with, and Im here for it. This is why you're my favorite!!!!
This is one of the best mascara tutorials I’ve come across, especially for someone with straight lashes. I’m just not willing to put in the time to do false Lashes so I needed This info. I don’t think I ever heard that waterproof mascara was the key! And the curling technique Really makes a Difference, too 😊👁️
I also have super straight lashes and the mascara I've found that I love is the loreal lash paradise waterproof, I've basically used it exclusively for the last 5 years. I had bad experiences with Maybelline mascara in high school where every one I tried I was maybe sensitive to and would leave my eyes itchy but it's been so many years that I should give them another shot
The essence lash princess with the blue packaging is waterproof and has the same wand as the clinic, it reminds me of maybe a dupe for the clinic mascara
Before i started watching you i was not having fun with my makeup i was doing the same boring kim Kardashian makeup everyday. Now im experimenting again and actually look forward to applying my makeup! Thanks to you i was also able to take my vintage collecting into the makeup department. I was at an antique store and bought a revlon les couturine lipstick for only $20! I also found a reich asch deere art deco pink powder tin. Thank you Erin!
Erin I really loved this one. And KUDOS for letting us in on the drugstore brands. I get so nervous watching you with all the tools near your eyes 😅. It only makes me marvel at you being a makeup ARTIST … I’m nervous doing my own eyes 😂 Living for the Long Lash
I had a question about curly lashes and of course you answered it perfectly. So I deleted it, but I wanted to tell you how much I love those earrings. You look fabulous in everything but those are stunning.
A couple years ago I found a UA-camr (I can’t remember her name!) and her tip was to take a lighter through the curler and warm it up and then curl your lash.. she compared it to a curling wand for your hair. I’ve been doing it ever since and I love it! I never hear anybody else talk about this tip and I was wondering why? I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
Girl, I used to use a hair straightener to fix my clumpy lash ends so I could curl them up, but also melt/take off mascara and coat them nicer lol. Such a silly teenage move. xD Your method sounds much more reasonable.
Yesss, thousand times yessss to the "external" ones like the 🙌🏻 SHU UEMURA *S Curler* 🙌🏻that you showed!!! Life changers, total control, plus, they work in absolutely every single human eye on earth. 🧛🏻♀️🖤
I love Lancome mascara. I've used it for 20 years now. Im also a mascara junky. I have everything. The lash discovery is great for bottom lashes. I was so happy to see you say that. Agreed
Thank you so much for mentioning splits in the rubber band of the eyelash curler. Now I know why parts of my eyelashes look like stubble. This video has such useful information❤

I had seen that eyelash comb several times but I never knew what it was for, as soon as I saw your video, I literally ran to buy it 😅 My eyelashes are almost non-existent and curled inwards at the ends, so I followed the tutorial and am delighted with the result.❤
I would love it if you did a segment about ponds, cold cream or cold cream in general. It’s history, and modern use of product in regards to make up remover, etc..
i watched your other video on mascara but i knew i would benefit from hanging on to every word of this video too. i learned so many new things on top of what you’ve previously talked about. i have personally felt like the youtube makeup community often neglects the BASICS of makeup- the why and how is SO IMPORTANT to help people understand how to do makeup on their own face, with their own products. i would watch a 20+ informational tutorial about every single step of the makeup process if you made it, seriously.
Your videos are absolutely a cut above all the other beauty you tubers. The vintage stuff is fascinating and ur role playing is so so entertaining Everytime i buy mascara i try something new. Havent found the one yet but i learned alot from this tutorial. I will definitely give waterproof a try as well as the dry oil Thanks Erin!
Loved that you mentioned the tip, mid, base curl for straight lashes…been doing this for years only the other way round and it really transforms the lash and eye cuz the crimp is not the biz 😬
Hi Erin! I was always so scared of doing my brows, can u please make a vid about brows later? I'd die happy lol! Love u Erin you're officially my one and only fav make up guru!
5:23 I have a similar lash comb/spoolie from Crown and I like to bend the spoolie so it's easier to comb the lashes (or brows). The metal comb is also FANTASTIC for combing thru & removing any hairs or fuzz that gets stuck in spoolies.
I’m OBSESSED with lash combs! Such a game changer. Same with fiber mascaras. I loved loved loved Jane High Fiber Mascara back in the day… Your videos are so amazing and I learn so much! ❤
me, a drag queen watching this video who absolutely would never do a natural lash but still absolutely blown away by the results! you’re truly an icon in the makeup scene right now
When you speak about being on set, it reminds me of EVERY HMUA job I have ever done. I relate to you!! Thank you for your efforts, dedication and passion to your craft. This industry can soften that with politics, egos and long hours. THANK YOU, ERIN!!!!
I like starting with a half empty mascara with very little product on the wand and then applying the full one. I find it separates the lashes better and leaves less clumps. ❤
Thank you for using some actual products that are affordable/available for the average consumer! I also love that you address all types of lashes! My lashes and eyes are one of my best features, but they’re blonde and I need all the help I can get. I’ve seen conflicting advice about the eyelash comb, but I’m glad to see how to use it safely.
Ive only ever done my upper lashes, because I have almond shaped, small eyes. So I feel like putting only mascara on my upper lashes makes them look bigger. Lauren Bacall is my idol, and I try to copy her style, and her lashes always looked like only the upper lashes were done. Thank you for this!! PS….if you can do a false lash tutorial for the inept…I would love it….Im awful at applying false eyelashes, but I love them!!

Yes and it’s the greatest if you’re a crier or have watery eyes! No mess and stays put no matter what! 🥰💫
Wayne Goss did one that talked about waterproof mascara, but that was maybe 10 years ago.
It’s such a good one, I know so many love it 😊
@@erinparsonsmakeupwhat are some of your personal favorite mascaras? ❤
SAME. And it comes in brown!
I’m a guy and have never worn makeup, but I love watching Erin makeup tutorials and historical broad knowledge of this art that goes back thousands of years, thumbs up 👍
Not a girlie girl, but Erin's anthropological, historical, practical info among with her warmth and artistry bring me back!
Can I just say, your eyes are stunning with and without makeup. You are just so naturally beautiful.
I love that you aren't afraid of shouting out multiple brands, not just the one you often work for! I didn't know that Maybelline had stopped advertising with lash inserts, good for them! A lot of consumers didn't know what those disclaimers meant.
This channel is such a refreshing change, love the make up history plus makeup tips like this, thank you Erin
Oh wow I’ll def look into that!
People have different eyelid/eyesocket and eye sizes/shapes, so which brand whole eyelash curler is the best for a person will vary from person to person.
I adore partial eyelash curlers though, to me they're way less of a gamble and feel easier to use.
I’d hit my curler with the blow dryer to heat it up a bit before using it. Do so with caution! But, yes. The heat helps! 👁️👄👁️
I saw Jessica jung do that on her channel!!
A Korean friend once taught me the hot chopstick method :D
I have to say, in menopause at 53, hormones and some Botox, tiny bit of filler. And therapy! You are awesome and I so appreciate the great videos about old glamour and how you do every look you are gorgeous
The pride I feel when Erin recommends my all time favorite mascara! I'll only use Loreal Voluminous in carbon black until they stop making it. Feels like I'm doing something right!
Its been my go to since the 80s . Never disappoints
I get asked if I wear falsies all the time 😝
Makeup really is an art.
It works just fine :)
I also am WAY too scared to use a lash curler on someone, I’m afraid I’ll end up lash torching them and rip them out out something.
So me discovering the spoon trick was like
🤯
@@katitachulita6841 same haha
I love Maybelline and have a few of their products. It is refreshing to see a major UA-camr giving tutorials with drugstore brands!
Love this 😅 maybe I’ll get to that point one day too!
I use the Telescoptic as well!
It’s funny you say that but I prefer the unruly side that she did anyhow! It looks more natural. 😂
I am with you. I love morphe's primer, telescopic and then lash paradise. Sometimes I switch to voluminous. The combo just makes my eyes pop.
I really like your final eyelash look because it's seriously glam WITHOUT being overly uniform like falsies.
I've worn false lashes once. I didn't like them at all! I curl mine everyday and have for 30 yrs. The fake ones are too much sometimes.
Same here! I've never even tried falsies nor do I want to. No shade to people who do, but I just can't get past the fact that most of them look fake. I can always tell when someone's wearing them and to me it's just not a good look, especially when they are over the top huge or in weird styles. They look to me like caterpillars glued onto the eyes. lol
I'm 55 and have never worn falsies and likely never will...just a good curl and mascara primer and 45 different kinds of mascara, lol
@@Call-me-Al I am aware that they are meant to look obvious. I still think they look ridiculous.
So lovely to hear you actually speak! Yes, you say volumes with your posing, but great voice. Love the history lesson. Even an old queen can learn something!
Many thanks!
Yes! I've been wanting a tutorial like this! I am always blown away with your looks. Love it!
Erin you are truly a cut above the rest. A whole league of your own. I loved this one!
I'm in the makeup industry and have watched numerous MuA, your so precise with giving informative tutorials I enjoy watching and learning from you, thank you.🎨💄
this is literally a better quality video lesson than what i get in college
Right now I think Erin is the most honest of all influencers on YT, thr rest are just pushing expensive products! I just love her and her content!
I have eyelashes like you and this Video SAVED ME when I was watching it some months ago. I was struggling for years. Thank you Erin !
Keep being your beautiful self.
always great and engaging content. no drama or hate just pure engaging professionalism and terrific story telling. Really a pleasure to watch
If I looked like Erin with just some foundation…no eye makeup….FLAWLESS. Absolutely stunning. This needs to be a “no eye makeup, no problem” video!
She really is the beauty influence I’ve been waiting for. She is a mature woman, as I am ( I’m definitely more mature 😉) and has got the credentials to influence. I love her videos on the history of make up and she executes with perfection.
bruh
Who you callin' mature fool ?
This is the only make-up tutorial I've ever watched all the way through. You are very talented, and your experience is invaluable!
And the curling technique Really makes a Difference, too 😊👁️
I did this technique with just the sephora mascara. Sometimes my lashes curl a bit wonky, but today was amazing 🤩
Is this the most helpful makeup video on UA-cam? Probably. Thank you Erin!
I’ll def have to try this one, Thankyou!😊
I have only watched "shorts" by you and had never seen you without full makeup. You are absolutely gorgeous!! I just had to say it !
It only makes me marvel at you being a makeup ARTIST … I’m nervous doing my own eyes 😂
Living for the Long Lash
THANKS FOR MAKING EYES DIFFERENT TO SEE THE EFFECT IN COMPARISON ❤❤❤
I had a question about curly lashes and of course you answered it perfectly. So I deleted it, but I wanted to tell you how much I love those earrings. You look fabulous in everything but those are stunning.
A couple years ago I found a UA-camr (I can’t remember her name!) and her tip was to take a lighter through the curler and warm it up and then curl your lash.. she compared it to a curling wand for your hair. I’ve been doing it ever since and I love it! I never hear anybody else talk about this tip and I was wondering why? I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
A shot from the hair dryer works. I imagine that a flame would add soot and maybe get too hot?
Girl, I used to use a hair straightener to fix my clumpy lash ends so I could curl them up, but also melt/take off mascara and coat them nicer lol. Such a silly teenage move. xD Your method sounds much more reasonable.
Ppl have been doing that tip for decades. One problem with people often end up burning themselves and scorching their lashes.
Agreed
What Lancôme mascara do you use? Is it waterproof? X
Hypnose. No waterproof
@@mermilani4525 thank you & do your lashes stay curled even though it’s not waterproof? X
Not for real lol I need to watch this video again
Woohoo Erin dropped a new video! 🎉 Love your videos and this has made my day ❤ Don't stop being awesome Ms Parsons!
Thank you so much for mentioning splits in the rubber band of the eyelash curler. Now I know why parts of my eyelashes look like stubble. This video has such useful information❤
Thank u for sharing this Erin ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Please do more of these makeup tutorials. I love itttt. The way you explains truly show how much you understands how makeup works. Please do more of these. ❤❤❤
i saw that tiktok you made and since then ive done your technique. it’s seriously made the BIGGEST difference! my natural laahes have never looked better! youre the best in the business erin thank you 🙏🏼❤!
It works , I saw the original video and tried it. Amazing. I only do this now ( cant wear fake lashes ) thank you
It was THE ONLY makeup hack I’ve tried irl and it actually worked and my life has never been the same ever again.
Thank you for this video, I am not someone who is able to false lashes so this video is a huge plus for me!
I had seen that eyelash comb several times but I never knew what it was for, as soon as I saw your video, I literally ran to buy it 😅 My eyelashes are almost non-existent and curled inwards at the ends, so I followed the tutorial and am delighted with the result.❤
I’ve been loving the Neutragena waterproof mascara. What a great tutorial! Thank you! 🩷
I love your videos and everything you do!
Thank you especially for all of the education 💋
I would love it if you did a segment about ponds, cold cream or cold cream in general. It’s history, and modern use of product in regards to make up remover, etc..
You're so down to earth and talented 🖤
i watched your other video on mascara but i knew i would benefit from hanging on to every word of this video too. i learned so many new things on top of what you’ve previously talked about. i have personally felt like the youtube makeup community often neglects the BASICS of makeup- the why and how is SO IMPORTANT to help people understand how to do makeup on their own face, with their own products. i would watch a 20+ informational tutorial about every single step of the makeup process if you made it, seriously.
Again, you're so amazing on how to teach us some basic techniques...so interesting and informative
Your videos are absolutely a cut above all the other beauty you tubers. The vintage stuff is fascinating and ur role playing is so so entertaining
Everytime i buy mascara i try something new. Havent found the one yet but i learned alot from this tutorial. I will definitely give waterproof a try as well as the dry oil
Thanks Erin!
You're my new favourite channel - in a way i wish i'd found you even later so that i would have more content to binge! 🥰
I’ve filmed two new videos in Chicago so should have more to come soon!
I adore you, Erin! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
🎉Ooh yes I vote for that too!
5:23 I have a similar lash comb/spoolie from Crown and I like to bend the spoolie so it's easier to comb the lashes (or brows). The metal comb is also FANTASTIC for combing thru & removing any hairs or fuzz that gets stuck in spoolies.
I totally know the struggle with the straight lashes, but lately I started to embrace them without waterproof mascara too. I love your videos! ❤
Maybe I’ll get there one day too 😅
This is hands down, my FAV makeup channel!
I would looovvee to see just a video of your favorite products and techniques 😍
OMG I adore your freckles!!!!! Lovely and informative as always.
Fiiiine, I'll get waterproof mascara... haha! Jokes asside. Thank you so much for sharing this! As a makeup artist, this makes me so happy! The number of women/ girls you just helped with educating them in techniques/ being able to find affordable products is just amazing! 😊❤

I am so inspired by you. I am a makeup artist of over 20 years and have a mega girl crush on you! 🥰😉😉
Thank you for sharing your genius with us. You are a joy to watch and learn from!
Hugs from KC!
Thank you for including tips for curly 4c lashes, mine are sooooo curly they almost touch my eyelid 😩❤
Thank you! I used to wear regular mascara and could never get it to hold. Then one day in high-school I read an article in a fashion magazine where the model was also having problems with her eyelashes and swore by waterproof mascara. It's been magic ever since ❤
Yeah, I can't do bottom mascara but I appreciate it on other people, where I'm not the only that might have to babysit smudging under my eyes 😂
so beautiful, dainty. and edgy all in one package
