I loved this so much, really interesting to see different techniques, although I wish we could've had a close up on the eyes. The last look was amazing on you! Will now look up Alexis. Would love to see a video where you use these products in a more modern way.
Oh this darn old camera 😢 I’m so new at UA-cam and I will definitely invest in better equipment soon. I wasn’t sure if people would watch. I actually hired a team for my first two videos. It’s so costly though and I can certainly film more often if I do it myself. I appreciate your comment and promise I’ll get there 🤗

She truly was. I worked with her several times and she was always so generous with her knowledge. Over time we developed a friendship and no matter where she was, she always took the time to stay in touch. Lovely woman inside and out.

lol you just unlocked a core memory for me. for some reason i had no bed time as a child and I would watch informercials late into the night. Im also remembering a lot of pure moods commercials 😅
I would love to see how Dolly Parton did her makeup in the 70s and 80s! She's got a very pretty bluey pinky eye look that I love and do not understand!
I miss those days when there were so many videos to watch. I hope more people come back to the platform. My YT journey is just beginning so i appreciate comments like this! Thankyou so much 🤗
@Erin Parsons Makeup Please do! Your looks from history are inspired and so educational and as always you look absolutely stunning. There is No-one else out there that does what you do, you little alchemist and genius! And yes, I too plucked the hell out of my eyebrows in the late 90s and have hardly any left.. you're brilliant and I think that you're simply marvellous! Thanks for sharing your insane talent and passion. Lots of love from the UK 🇬🇧 ❤️
Alexis (Lexi to her friends) was a wonderful, kind person who I had the privilege of working with many years ago and becoming friends with. Before she passed, she only told her close circle that she had cancer, because she was afraid that it would harm her career and image in Hollywood. How tragic is it that she would have ever had to worry about this? But she truly left a legacy for many generations after and you can still see her work in many looks today. Thank you for honoring her. You did a beautiful job.
My mother was paralyzed from the neck down, so I started doing her makeup when I was around 10-12. I was so excited when I convinced her to get us this kit around 2002-2003. I've done my face in a variation of the alexis cat eye look for my whole life! edit: forgot a couple words lol
You wonderful and beautiful soul, Thankyou for making your mother always feel glamorous. Even a little lipstick can change the whole mood and start the day off with a boost of confidence. I really appreciate you sharing your story 🤗 love that you have the kit too!
I love your commitment and that you don't cut corners. You bought the actual makeup to be as authentic as possible when you could have just used similar makeup but didn't. I love that you go the extra mile for these videos.
Erin has arrived at the most perfect time. We need this history it’s important to know your references and respect where trends and styles have come from!
@@erinparsonsmakeup Erin! I would love to see you evolve this look into a 2023 interpretation taking inspo from Brigitte, Pamela, and the recent “clean girl” aesthetic! LOVE your content!
Yeah..I got hooked(& subbed) seeing her shorts where she did something Historically accurate .so cool. History repeats itself...and some things Never truly go out of style.
@@kateapple1some of us don’t like to create unnecessary waste every time we do our makeup. I can also sanitize synthetic brushes in between uses in a way I don’t want to do to my fingers every morning. If I used rubbing alcohol on my fingertips the way I do my brushes, I’d have shed off my fingerprints by now.
i'm so happy your channel exists. in a world full of makeup reviewers, you actually have fun with makeup! it's so fun to learn some makeup history as well instead of recreating "trends."
i love learning about older makeup techniques! i feel there are a lot of 'rules' about makeup now (Iike, don't use a sponge to blend your eyeshadow!) and it's cool to see what people did before these 'rules' were established
I agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeee i feel makeup has become kinda "highschooly" in the sense that people judge others for not using it in the "established" way... established by WHOM?
Imo makeup shouldn't be rigid "Dos and donts"- but more about fun. I know what you mean, but I have personally always thought of it as "whatever way you're feeling at a particular time. If you want to break a rule..go for it"- it's your face. Lol
They were the ‘rules’ of the time, same as we are using the “rules” of today. These new rules of yours will be superseded by newer rules and your old rules will be sneered at by the people of the future. The standard doesn’t remain static. Geez don’t the Z generation think they know it all!
I'm a 90s kid and still remember thinking my friend's mom, with her overdrawn lips, smokey eyes and messy updo was the hottest thing ever! Been trying to recreat that iconic 90s mouth since forever so tonight I'm just watching cartoons with my son while wearing a full 90s look;) thank you❤
This is so late in the 90s that it's really a 2000 look, the early 90s look was completely different, very minimal and matte, the only thing that carried over was the thin brows
You don’t realize how much makeup changes until you see a “then vs now” example. All are beautiful looks! I suppose we don’t see the changes in makeup looks right away because they’re subtle changes. Love it!
I was a teenager during this era so to me this look is actually chill and laid back, but if I step back it's so funny how intensely glamorous it is. I just take it for granted.
Same, well tween in the late 90s, teen in the early 00s. Pam was my inspo 1000%. Still hsve skinny brows and bleach blonde hair. Lol. I still use quips for eye make up and keep those sponges on hand for blending when needed!!
Erin, I think you’re beautiful and a wonderful mentor! I’m a new subscriber, 71 yrs old, not the age of your usual viewer, but I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your channel. Watching you give us videos of all the stars of yesteryear and how they achieved their beautiful looks. Super interesting! I’m a big Marilyn Monroe, Bridget Bardot, and Pam Anderson fan so these videos have me glued to my IPad screen! I’m here because Johnny and Kevin sent me! Two more of my favorite MUA and UA-camrs! I’m a subscriber for life! I appreciate all your hard work that goes into making and editing these videos!🥰
THIS is the type of beauty content I want to see!! Entertaining, educational, interesting, no drama just Erin doing her thing and being amazing with make up, love from 🇬🇧
So true that Pam Anderson's makeup look was THE look of the 90's. She was my ultimate high school makeup inspiration. I can't think of anyone that had that much of an impact on me when I was discovering makeup in my teen years. So glad this is trending now!!! Years ago I tried to tell my daughters about Pam and how she was the girl everyone wanted to be when I was their age. Of course, they had no clue who she was. I'm showing them this!!! 😍
I found your videos through your makeup history related shorts and I recently discovered your whole collection of work you have done for celebrities and popular campaigns and I am amazed at your talent!! Would love an in depth video of your whole history as a makeup artist
I def plan to do that soon. I really want to talk about how I got here but also why I’ve wanted to make social media my new full time occupation. I had a 16 hour shoot yesterday and I’m so worn out. I’m getting old 😅 but def will share all!
I'm so happy I found Erin! Typically I'm not a fan of makeup-culture because I believe women are being duped to channel our creativity into a temporary artform that gets washed off every night. Please channel your creativity into more permanent pieces of expression, something to leave behind to the people you love, or at least make videos of the temporary expressions so they can be enjoyed by other people at a later date.
Omg yes I almost get a little sad imagining her at work doing a lot of the same looks over and over when she’d rather do an older look 😂 I know, I’m wayyy too invested don’t say it
i know this comment will get lost in the void, but miss erin, you have re-sparked my interest in makeup!! you're soo true to recreate looks, i love the vintage makeup videos as well. i just havent been in love with makeup for sucha long time!
This is a makeup channel that feels like it's going to burst open a whole new genre of makeup videos. Kinda like how bailey sarian created a whole new genre of makeup videos. I'm absolutely obsessed 🥰
Loved this so much! Also love how you kept calling it the “shadow shammy” even though they tried to modernize the name later. “Shadow shammy” is so perfectly reflective of product names of that time 😂💓
It's wonderful to see you giving artists like Alexis Vogel the respect they deserve Erin. I grew up in the 90s and the mysogyny that tarnished the narritive around this type of look and the wonderful sensual entertainers, like Miss Anderson, who wore them, was a real disservice to their artistry and creativity. Thank you for continuing to shine light on these incredible talents, you're doing God's work ❤
I never knew this was a look that a makeup artist had a whole technique for! I have been mimicking this look for years, and excites me to know there is a professional step by step process behind it to get that exact look! I LOVE THIS ❤ 😍 thank you so much. This look is SO ICONIC ❤
I was obsessed with Alexis Vougel as a teen, I wanted to become a makeup artist...but everyone talked me out of it, saying I would never make enough to live. I don't use my degree at all, but I still love makeup.
Believe it or not this kind of Pam Anderson sexy smokey eye makeup has been the staple bridal makeup for Pakistani women until very, very recently. Cake liners, shimmer brow dusts, and glossy nude lips have never died here.
I bought Alexis’s makeup kit from her first makeup launch ages ago. She was definitely ahead of her time, when beauty blenders came out I was so pissed because people gave Alexis a hard time when she wet her sponge 🧽 to apply foundation sometimes or use a wet sponge to set powder. Just so many memories when I see Alexis rip 🙏
I love love love your longer videos, you have so much knowledge and pick such interesting themes. I know social media is pivoting to short form but i do hope to see more of your longer videos!!
Its truly so amazing to see how really simple things like a discardable sponge can make a look seem completely different! Loved seeing this, especially as a retail makeup artist myself! Loveleyyyy
I can’t wear makeup b/c I have Trigeminal Neuralgia (aka the suicide disease) and touching my face triggers the pain, but I get so much enjoyment out of watching you put together these gorgeous looks and learning the history of makeup. I just wanted to say thank you for bringing back a little piece of me that’s been taken away. Edit; spelling
Oh my you sweetheart, I’m so sorry to hear this but knowing that these videos bring you joy definitely makes me want to post more often. Appreciate you 🤗
The type and intensity of pain that the trigeminal nerve causes is literally impossible to describe. I experienced it only for 3 to 4 days and I ended kicking my head against the wall with all my soul until I felt unconscious. I know that saying "I feel you" doesn' t relieve your pain 🤷🏻♀️😥 but here I am sending all my energy and wishing you nothing but improvement.🫂🧛🏻♀️🖤🖤🖤
I TOO have RSD/ CRPS!!! I have had it since I was 12 & am now 42!! I have it on my Right side. Started on my right big toe, up my leg, spine, chest and now up the base of my skull. I got hit by a drunk driver. I have a spinal cord stimulator & take a combo of 14 pills. I am a stage 4 and know exactly how you feel!
There was a time YEARS ago when I arrived to a fashion showcase without my brushes. But I had sponges and qtips. Between those and my clean fingers, all of my models ended up looking gorgeous. And thankfully most of my face products were cream, which helped. EDIT: Damn girl, you need to wear that wig more often! It's amazing on you!
None of my current eye pencils smudge out like that anymore. It is interesting how much products have changed over the years. Its not worse or better just different. Thank you for introducing me to alexis because i didnt know her and shes obviously iconic!
Yes they’re all too waterproof. You put it on and it won’t budge 😅 I love the old school pencils and then I’ll top with a waterproof. So agree with you!
@@bethrubley2378 YES! The pencils were too hard to use in the water line, so we'd light them and use them. The older girls taught the younger girls. No UA-cam, no internet then.
@@bethrubley2378 Girl! I used to do that a lot up into my 20s. One time, I almost got expelled from school because I was caught with my lighter. Luckily, my middle school's vice principal understood that the lighter was for my eyeliner 😅
Erin, you are reviving the passion, interest and inspiration for the beauty space on UA-cam. I’m grateful you’re here, appreciate your time and look forward to the manifestation of all of your projects! 🤩
Erin I loved this episode! I have been an Alexis Vogel fan for years, thanks for possibly turning a younger or new audience on to her artistry!!! Such an appreciated blast from the past that contains techniques definitely important for todays makeup users.
In 1999 I was a fashion student at FIDM. I would do all my friends makeup before we’d go out on the Sunset strip and they were all like why tf aren’t you a makeup artist? So in 2000, I moved back to Utah and majored in theater with an emphasis in stage makeup design. After that I went back to LA for an intensive media makeup artistry school where I started my book. I have had the pleasure of studying under 2 Emmy award winning makeup artists and several other prominent artists - even one who did makeup for porn and made bank lol, but no one ever lit a fire within me to become a kick ass makeup artist like Alexis. I mean I studied her technique like a savage because I wanted to look just like Pam. And I actually did. And so much of that was my make up application style. I became known for my playboy, playmate make up style and that’s what people and companies hired me to do for them. And honestly it’s what I still love doing most and it’s still my favorite style of make up to do because to me it is so classically beautiful. But maaaaan these techniques took me back! Those damn triangle sponges were everything! 😂 And yes I had the skinny brows too that never fully came back and I still do my lips that way too. 🤷🏼♀️ Thank you for this beautiful tribute to Alexis. She was such a beautiful soul inside and out and truly a talented artist that revolutionized the game. 🎨❤
Living for this!! I did my makeup like this daily for years. Now it’s coming back and my daughters ask me to do it on them. We are about the same age Erin. One thing I remember about the 90’s makeup. Nothing was perfect and I don’t think it wasn’t supposed to be. Love your content! ❤️ Ps: the evryday girl didn’t have makeup brushes aside from what came with eyeshadow or a blush. Q-Tips and those sponge brushes were it along with fingers . Lastly-urban decay shadows work very similar. Especially the smoked pallets
It’s so crazy to see how crazy makeup has evolved, just since the late 90’s. The tools used in her DVD look like the “Gift Set Makeup Brushes” that go on sale during Christmas time at Walmart in the gift set novelty isle at Walmart. Just imagine what Alexis would be able to do today with the products & tools available now. She will always be such an icon.
I have never been more in love with a channel/creator before! This is such a breath of fresh air for people who truly love makeup and the history of makeup. Thank you for making these types of videos, you make me love makeup again :)
Omg! I love this so much! I remember when this was on tv and I bought the kit from the infomercial. Alexis’ techniques are incredible and so easy to follow! I’m so happy you made this video! ❤
My brows never recovered from the 90s. I graduated high school in 1997, when the 'skinny little Pam brow' was at its most popular...in my junior year picture, I was definitely channeling 'Mad Love'-era Drew Barrymore, complete with the badass-but-also-actually-bad-diy-bleached-pixie.
Literally same 😅 I also graduated in 97. I had about three hairs left before the 2000’s 😂 if you want to read about my eyebrow transplant google “allure + Erin parsons eyebrows transplant “ I’ll do a video on it soon too!
@@erinparsonsmakeup 1. Thank you for being so transparent about having what many would consider a strictly aesthetic procedure. What some people maybe don't understand is that procedures like this are NOT just aesthetic--they affect your confidence and the way you see yourself, and therefore, the way you move and work in the world. 2. Your doctor is incredible at what she does (and you did a perfect job of drawing your shape on pre-op)! What painstaking work having to choose each individual hair and how and where to place it...wow. Your brows look REALLY GOOD, and I was happy to read that you love them. Personally, I think it's perfect that they are still 'sisters, not twins'. 3. I, too, loved Linda Evangelista and her iconic, pencil thin, penciled-in brows. I liked her best as a redhead, but the image of her that always sticks with me is of her with a short, dark brunette pageboy on the September 1993 cover of Harper's Bazaar, simply because her brows were SO full in that shot compared to how she usually wore them. 4. I need to ask, because if I were you and I had the time, I'd totally do this at least once: when your brows start getting long, have you ever fought the urge to trim them and just let them grow for awhile? If so, did you ever style them?! I'm imagining some Botticelli-esque spiral curls, or perhaps a Stacey Q-style micro crimp. Wild! Thanks for engaging so often with your fans and followers--what a classy broad 😉
@@erinparsonsmakeup omg that’s you? I didn’t recognise you, did you get your nose done too? I got my brows done too because of your article! I love my new brows! Yes please do a video TFS ❤️❤️❤️
Grad 97 here too! Thankfully, my mom had a tight grip on me still and would not let me get my brows waxed too thin! Lol! The only time I’m thankful for a strict mom! I wanted this “system “ so bad! I remember the infomercial…
You're so talented, I love your content so much. It reminds me of old school beauty youtube, which taught me how to do makeup/really ignited my passion for makeup literally over 10 years ago now. These looks kind of reminds of me of old transformations Pixiwoo (now they just go by their names, Sam and Nic Chapman) used to do, but of course filmed in a more updated way. I think they even had a pam anderson transformation I watched repeatedly, trying to recreate the look, at least a decade ago now. This is one of the few beauty channels I still watch, even the shorts (which I usually can't really get into, after watching longer content here on YT for so long)
Trying to film once a week. And I definitely have to upgrade my camera. I couldn’t zoom in 😅 sometimes I hire a videographer but I can film more often if I do myself. Thankyou for your comment 🤗
Erin, you are everything the beauty community has needed. You are the perfect person to honor iconic makeup looks, the artists who innovated and educate us along the way. 🥰 Rest in peace, Alexis! 🙌
Omg, the thin brows with your natural brown eyes was definitely giving “Tragic Kingdom” era Gwen Stefani! thank you for highlighting Pam as well as Alexis Vogel, what a great video
I really love this look. It's so strange not to use brushes to me now but at the time there really weren't brushes at the drugstore. If you lived somewhere without a mac, you could always get cheap triangle sponges in a bag. That's what I started out with, cake foundation, pressed powder and a powder puff. For eyeshadow I used the little sponge thing that came with it. I learned to do a smokey eye with a kohl pencil and a q-tip from a MUA at a salon. She sold me a single shimmer shadow and a single gun metal gray shadow. For lips I had a brown liner and a pink tinted gloss. Very minimal but that sexy pouty Bardot esque lip. I think it's wild they are still making this and that the quality holds up. Cake liner is an underappreciated product, I always think. It never dries up and gets too old to use.
i love how she gently called out the tutorial at 10:53 , i also found it funny how the video described the "shadow shammy" as, "revolutionary, no one has ever done this before" lolol.
Thanks for taking me back down memory lane with this iconic makeup look! You looked absolutely beautiful! I too overly tweezed my brows back in the late 90’s! 🤣 I’m older than you (I’m 58) and my sultry, smoky eye inspirations were from Morgan Fairchild and Donna Mills. ✌️💕
Yay Donna Mills! “The Eyes Have It” was that corny 80s high glamor that I adore. This flavor of 90s glamor is much more porn-y to my eye. Totally fine to look like Jenna Jameson, but I definitely have a soft spot in my heart for that “Dynasty”-era decadence and sophistication.
@@erinparsonsmakeup Yes! Please do that Donna Mills vhs video look! I remember that one so well. My friends and I used to pop that in the player and go right along with her. I think she used a fresh cucumber on her skin in the beginning? It's been so long since I watched. She was and still is so gorgeous. Can't wait to see your recreation. You've sure taken me down memory lane with Alexis's kit. That infomercial was on every single night, everywhere if you were up watching television. The nostalgia!
@Erin Parsons Makeup Yay!! I can’t wait to see your rendition of the infamous “Donna Mills Eyes 👀 “! Yes, I remember that vhs tape so well! Her eyes were, and still are mesmerizing! It would be so cool if she would film it with you! Sigh 😌 I miss the good old days of watching Dynasty, Falcon’s Crest, Knots Landing, and Dallas with my sweet Nana! ✌️💕
I am so here for the ultimate babe look ,I adore Pam so much🫶🏽!and it’s so crazy I watched that what’s in my bag video with Pam as well and also noticed her talk about the Alexis Vogel glitter she had in her bag,I looked everywhere for her stuff on random sites not knowing she still had her kits ,I didn’t know she still sold the whole kits on her site ,so cool!when I saw your video I was so excited ,I know she’s sadly passed of cancer and was a revolutionary in so many ways and I’m so glad to see her and Pam celebrated for a fresh audiance!!
It was also said that Alexis Vogel applied some sort of super glue as primer on Pam for her taping with Tommie Lee. This allowed for the makeup to stick during the filming process. After the taping it was rumored pam spent three days isolated in the restroom scrubbing her face to wash off the makeup. Such an iconic moment in makeup history as well as iconic makeup artistry.
After using liquid eyeliner to get a precise cat eye for so many years, I’d completely forgotten how smudgey we wore our eye makeup in the 90s/early aughts. The smudgier the better for bombshells or riot grrrls! My go-to eyeliner in the late 90s had a little smudging sponge tip on the top of the pencil so you could get in there and blur those undesirable hard lines. Love this tutorial. I could watch you and Lisa Eldridge talk about makeup history all day!
@briya-vp8xi what the hell is your problem ? Why would you comment something like that? No one asked for or mentioned your religious beliefs ever. Delete this comment or im reporting you for bullying
Gosh! I'm almot 50 years old & this was my makeup routine for years hahahaaa. No moisturiser, foundation all over, slightly orange, using a triangle sponge, tonnes of powder, skinny eyebrows, huge chubby eyeliners...soo much eyeliner & OMG that glow dust. I had sliver on my eyebrow bone & pretty much all over my eyes for about 20 years & at least 4 coats of mascara lmao. This was brilliant to watch. I'd forgotten most of this routine. Thank you for sharing this xx

I litterally can not tell you how much I love these videos. Like, I am getting ready for bed and have already washed my face, and I went into my makeup to find similar colors you used just to do this look along with the video (I ALWAYS have demi whispies lol)! There's just something about your videos that stand out from other makeup content creators.
Hey girl, I need a series on ponds cold cream. A beauty product that seems to be lost on young women, but is truly the best make up remover system of all time.😂
Ballet dancer here😊. Nothing removes stage make up like Pond' s. Maybe the only thing that can be compared is extra virgin olive oil freshly pressed from my little town sended by my mom. If she knew I' ve used it as an emergency alternative because I ran out of my cold cream, I shouldn' t be commenting here💀... 😅 🧛🏻♀️🖤 #coldcreamteam
Love this!! Love the history. I remember this as an infomercial when I was younger, and I really wanted to buy it, but it was not cheap, and I thought it would magically turn me into Pam lol 😅. This was way before I knew UA-cam was teaching people how to use make up. I had no idea how to use make up back then.
Erin is literally an angel. The gorgeous face, the soothing voice, it's all so good. Thank you Erin for giving us these chunky, hearty videos that we can have a snack and look forward to. I can't wait for each new video. BTW, where did you get those blue contacts? Those are impressively realistic.
I think from Solotica , all my contacts, I had put the little stickers to keep track of the names and they fell off :( then I came in the studio the next day and realized I had forgot to put the caps on and they were all dried out 😅
I think the Clinique High Impact mascara is a tubing formula, which is probably why they don’t label it as waterproof. This video was a great idea. I enjoyed it and all your videos. Please create more. This is my kind of channel!❤
Wow, what pretty makeup looks. They look amazing on you. My favorite was the middle one. The techniques are so cool. I use disposable cosmetic makeup sponges in my professional MUA kit. They're underrated.

Ya know I want to say that the DVD lady is the same woman who voices Siri on your iPhone, Susan Bennett. I could be wrong..
Shyadow Shyammy 😂😂😂
She's just midwestern.
It's very distracting with those disgusting looking tattoos on your hands
Erin Parsons is going to be the next big makeup star, one day I hope she’ll open up her own brand!
Oh my goodness could you imagine the beautiful vintage inspired packaging and colors?? I would buy it all
Omg 🥹 that was so sweet. Maybe one day 🤞 but first the museum so you all can come and enjoy the collection in person!
@@erinparsonsmakeup If you do....the hidden makeup jewelry would be the death of my savings account.
Modern reproductions of some of the old color cosmetics (like that blue eyeshadow from the 1920s/30s omg I die) would also kill my wallet.
@@erinparsonsmakeup if I have the money I'll travel to NY from Indonesia just to see it😭✨💕
I love your commitment and that you don't cut corners. You bought the actual makeup to be as authentic as possible when you could have just used similar makeup but didn't. I love that you go the extra mile for these videos.
Thankyou! It was fun 😊 that dvd really brought me back in time 😅
Erin has arrived at the most perfect time. We need this history it’s important to know your references and respect where trends and styles have come from!
Thankyou! Adore you! In a world of fork contours I totally agree 😅
There is nothing more 90's than blending your makeup with nothing but a wedge sponge and a Qtip Lol! Took me back to my adolescence ❤
I just used my fingers 😀
I still do this. They just sell you anything now… like finishing spray. No one needs that. All you need is a qtip and your finger
@Angel D Yep the triangle sponges 🤣
@@kateapple1 I beg to differ setting spray actually does work just the same as heat protectant works for your hair to
@@kateapple1some of us don’t like to create unnecessary waste every time we do our makeup.
Thankyou! I love the history behind it all and I’m so glad others share that joy as well! 🤗
I mean this is recreating trends but I get what you mean
I liked the fact that she made all the steps super easy for anyone to achieve Pamela look so iconic.
Alexis Vogel was such an incredible makeup artist. So sad she passed away so young from cancer. She was so gorgeous.
i love learning about older makeup techniques! i feel there are a lot of 'rules' about makeup now (Iike, don't use a sponge to blend your eyeshadow!) and it's cool to see what people did before these 'rules' were established
I totally agree and was shocked how well it worked!😅

Get you some rum raisin! That's peak 90s ❤
Your beauty history enthusiasm is contagious 😊
Thankyou! Funny thing is I lived this one 😅
I still do this kind of look with browns and oranges in a 90’s grunge way. It’s my classic everyday go to look.

I love Baileys videos! Feel like without her I wouldn’t be on UA-cam as much. 😅 thanks for your nice comment!
12 minutes in and I can confirm the natural is 💯 90’s. 😊 Brings back so many memories.
Loved this so much! Also love how you kept calling it the “shadow shammy” even though they tried to modernize the name later. “Shadow shammy” is so perfectly reflective of product names of that time 😂💓
Alexis is one of the most underrated makeup artists of our time
It's wonderful to see you giving artists like Alexis Vogel the respect they deserve Erin.
An artist honouring another artists work by recreating their best work the iconic Pamela Anderson look, and I'm living for it.💋💄❤️✨
I bought Alexis’s makeup kit from her first makeup launch ages ago.
I’m definitely trying to do it all 🤗 I love the longer form videos. I’m hoping to post once a week. Trying to get my schedule to work out this way ❤
Its truly so amazing to see how really simple things like a discardable sponge can make a look seem completely different!
Oh, I am sorry that you have to live with that pain.

Your channel has become my newest obsession! It's history, storytelling and education all wrapped up in super-bingeworthy videos. ❤

I remember melting my eyeliners with a lighter (in the girl's bathroom at my high school) to get that melty, smudgey look.
@@bethrubley2378 YES! The pencils were too hard to use in the water line, so we'd light them and use them. The older girls taught the younger girls. No UA-cam, no internet then.

What an amazing tutorial! I tried so hard to get the “Pamela” look back in the 90s. You make it look so easy!
A legend receiving her beyond deserved recognition from a legend. Quality content at its finest🙌🏻. Endless gratitude, Erin. 🧛🏻♀️🖤
I live in Utah, can i buy you a coffee and you can share your stories and skills? 😅
Living for this!! I did my makeup like this daily for years. Now it’s coming back and my daughters ask me to do it on them. We are about the same age Erin. One thing I remember about the 90’s makeup. Nothing was perfect and I don’t think it wasn’t supposed to be. Love your content! ❤️
Ps: the evryday girl didn’t have makeup brushes aside from what came with eyeshadow or a blush.
I remember this on tv too 😅 and must be the reason I wore those Demi Wispies even back then!
I wanted the kit sooo bad! I was so sad to find out that Alexis passed from cancer.
You have NO IDEA of how much i admire the work you've done within the years ! This video IS BEYOND !!!

Love this. I’m 47 and this was my era and it’s stunning!
Oh the Donna mills vhs video omg 🤩 I actually have it! I will definitely have to recreate this one day too!
You've sure taken me down memory lane with Alexis's kit. That infomercial was on every single night, everywhere if you were up watching television. The nostalgia!

What i love about this tutorial compared to others on youtube is that it also comes with research and history, thank you for that. Its so cool

Your innocent excitement in the reactions of how you liked most of these products was just infectious! You make UA-cam a little brighter.
I would love to see Erin and Wayne Goss do a video together. Both of them have just wonderful personalities and crazy good makeup skills.

There's just something about your videos that stand out from other makeup content creators.
Hey girl, I need a series on ponds cold cream. A beauty product that seems to be lost on young women, but is truly the best make up remover system of all time.😂
Agreed 💯 I've used it for YEARS!! It's the only remover that doesn't sting my eyes. And it leaves your skin so soft after cleansing too.
It’s the best! Use it day and night…

Love this!! Love the history. I remember this as an infomercial when I was younger, and I really wanted to buy it, but it was not cheap, and I thought it would magically turn me into Pam lol 😅. This was way before I knew UA-cam was teaching people how to use make up. I had no idea how to use make up back then.

I think from Solotica , all my contacts, I had put the little stickers to keep track of the names and they fell off :( then I came in the studio the next day and realized I had forgot to put the caps on and they were all dried out 😅
I agree…..she’s fabulous and beautiful and she has a lovely voice
I think the Clinique High Impact mascara is a tubing formula, which is probably why they don’t label it as waterproof. This video was a great idea. I enjoyed it and all your videos. Please create more. This is my kind of channel!❤
The 90s/00s are really making their makeup comeback!
Wow, what pretty makeup looks. They look amazing on you. My favorite was the middle one. The techniques are so cool. I use disposable cosmetic makeup sponges in my professional MUA kit. They're underrated.
I used countless numbers of the white wedge sponges back in the 90s!
It’d be really helpful to us if you can create this look and technique using modern products that are mostly used either high end or drugstore . Thanks very much for your dedication and uploads.
