    I had the idea to make this many years ago.. unfortunately I was really young and home life wasn’t ideal. I never found a recipe for it back then, I thought maybe it wasn’t a thing and I was weird. Glad someone had the same idea I did.

    Would I be able to make a regular vanilla tres leches if I took the gelatin and purée out of the cake batter mix, or do I need to substitute them for something else?

    • @BakingwithVero
      @BakingwithVero  5 років тому +7

      Zulekha you do not have to substitute the gelatin and purée for anything else. Just use the rest of the ingredients listed and you’ll have a regular vanilla tres leches cake. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask. 😊

    Hi, my mom just made this and followed the recipe to the tee. As soon as she started putting the flour, the mixture deflated unlike the video. And in the end the cake came out as dense as a brick and it’s been 4 hours and it didn’t absorb any milks. How do we fix this? Thank you

    • @esmihulse515
      @esmihulse515 Рік тому

      Old video bt if u try agen,just fold in d dry mix slowly,dat way u don't deflate d mix/your cake wll be spongy. Oven preheated/don't bang d pans to take d air out,jus put it straight in the oven to bake. Blessings

    For the frosting to make it homemade would it be regular sugar or powdered sugar because I usually make me own whipped cream but I can never frost it right

    • @adrianaflores714

      I used powdered sugar. Make sure you have the proper consistency as that will make it easier.

    If I don’t add the strawberry purée , would it still come out good for a regular tres leche or will the consistency be off?????

    • @BakingwithVero
      @BakingwithVero  3 роки тому +1

      Hello! Yes, it will still work without the purée and the strawberry gelatin if you do not want strawberry flavor. Just add another half a cup of sugar. So total 2 cups of sugar.

      @Cheftone286 3 роки тому

      @@BakingwithVero thank you, I was going to make it today but I didn’t have the jello packet, I only had the purée made. What does the jello do it? Is it needed for texture or just flavor?

    Hey vero! So i tried ur recipe , but putting all the batter into a 10" round .. for some reason it did not bake well. I left in the oven at 350 for about 45min... what do you think went wrong?

    • @sophialyree3350
      @sophialyree3350 5 років тому

      I did insert a toothpick and even a knife. Seemed done.. but there was a part where it was just hard. ... i dont know. Help! Please! 😁

    • @BakingwithVero
      @BakingwithVero  5 років тому +1

      If you followed the directions, I’m not sure why a part came out hard. If you decide to give it another try, check the cake in 30 minutes instead to see if its done. Maybe your oven gets hotter than mine even when set at the same temperature. Did you pour the milks on the cake already? Maybe that will help soften the area that is hard? I hope this helps.

    • @sophialyree3350
      @sophialyree3350 5 років тому

      Hi vero thanks for replying. Ive been waiting for ur reply all day! I wanna make this cake as a birthday gift! But yes i followed.. made the cake as the video went following step by step. .. im going to give it a try again tomorrow!! Making a few adjustments. Maybe my mixer didnt mix it well! Thanks for ur reply again. Also one last question... the mold size does not matter? You used 2 round 9".. i used only 1 round 10"...

    • @sophialyree3350
      @sophialyree3350 5 років тому

      The cake seemed smooshed hard and not springy like the rest.. that only happened to the bottom of the cake. The top half was fine.

    • @BakingwithVero
      @BakingwithVero  5 років тому +1

      I used two 8” cake pans. Only pour your batter 3/4 of the way up on your 10” cake pan. And again, check it in 30 minutes to see if it’s done if not bake another 8-10 minutes and check it again. And yes, maybe all the ingredients did not mix well so make sure you mix those well also. Your batter should have no lumps in it. I really hope this helps. Don’t hesitate to ask any other questions.
