I like this show but have never seen this episode. I can't imagine what Carl was thinking when he took his last breath. He had regret, that he should have been strong like Daniel's father but he wasn't, he wanted to go home and see his son grow up, and I can tell that when Carl told Daniel to run, he forgave Daniel and understood that he was a 15 year old boy who was messed up and hurting. Very sad
Is just feel bad for both the killer and the victim. The killer is an angry kid who misses his dad and the victim is full of survivors guilt and he doesn’t blame the kid for shooting him. :(
I wish they would produce great shows like Cold Case again.
he told that kid to run, he didn't want him to go to jail. even after being shot he understood that kid was in pain and never meant to hurt him.
Forgiveness but it's not real life. The one who got shot wouldn't have been able to talk and the shooter would've ran away.

I feel bad for both Carl and Daniel.Daniel was just a kid,angry at Carl. Carl wasn't mad at Daniel.He knew he was in pain and angry
The adults in Daniel's life sure didn't help. As if they would ever understand what being of POW or being a survivor just in general means.

Also his guilt of having done what the vietnamesse wanted, while daniel's father stick up and died. He is ashamed.
I probably would have e done what Carl did .
So sad. 😭 Given the guilt Carl no doubt lived with, he probably thought being shot by the son a man stronger than he him was a fitting way to die.
If one thinks about it, maybe this is why adult Daniel became a mentor to troubled teens--to prevent them from going down the same path as him...
