Good luck finding one of these marketing stunts. My local dealer laughed at me when I asked about the plug in hybrid and asked me how much I wanted to pay above msrp. He says they may get two a quarter, maybe none. What a joke. I’m done with this fantasy ev market
About the dashboard, I have the same thought. It looks too plain. I wish they had some contrast stitching or some things going on there
I liked the old interior better
Nice car! I like the infotainment center.. easy and well done.. another great review
Alex and some other reviewers mentioned that the heat and altitude likely hampered the performance of the turbo model.
Thanks again for showing this beautiful lexus a few times in your vids
I wish i can get the nx because i feel like i am too big for the ux i have
Unfortunately in today's car market those MSRPs mean nothing. Visited several dealers only to find they are marking up the 350 models by around $6k over MSRP and the plugin hybrid they they said to expect $10-15k over the MSRP if I want one.
Keep shopping and force the dealer to lower the mark up! I was able to find a dealer with NO MARK UP and bought my NX350!! They're out there, just have to search for them
Depends where you are. The 450+ ..yes good luck getting one. I bought a 350h today and paid list . 3 month delivery time.
The spindle grill has evolved nicely with each successive model and no longer an eyesore but rather pleasing.
nah you just got used to it ;D
@@foam27 it’s really attractive on the LS, LC, IS, ES and even refreshed GX. Not bad on here either.
@@gengstar09 Nah, the GX still looks bad with it. The new NX wears it pretty well though. I don't mind the grill on it now.
@@ayushmalpeddi2793 ig it’s subjective. Sales of the GX are at an all-time high rn. Even before they added Apple CarPlay. I think tons of people are flocking because of the newer look to its grille. I agree with you about the new NX.
@@gengstar09 The sales have nothing to do with how the car looks. People are NOT buying Lexus CUV/SUV for how they look. My parents for example blatantly stated they DID NOT like the look of the RX front-end at ALL, but they still choose to check it out and buy it because it of the brand name, quality, reliability, and the some luxuries it offers. The new NX wears the grille well though because it is integrated so I actually really like the design. Hopefully the next gen RX is good too.
Also Sofyan, not everyone wants to be a speed demon. This car is fast enough.
It’s not about being a speed demon, it’s about recognizing that for the same money or less, we notice competitors have more satisfyingly quick acceleration.
It is fast but if you’re spending more than mainstream alternatives that are faster why would you? A cx5 that’s just as nice as this but way cheaper, faster, handles better and looks better
I predicted the nx would be disappointing and I was right wasn’t I?
@@theredline This. For comparable price points you can get a quicker sportier CSUV. I like how you take that into consideration in your reviews. It is very important, for some, the engine (and its real world power) could be the difference between this and one of its competitors.
@@naveenthemachine I actually predicted it originally but since we see eye to eye on this I’ll give it a pass
But yeah redline review. Literally anything else beats this. And I knew the nx would be outclassed by the gv70 and I got called out for saying that. Well now look and revisit that comment…
The dash - needs some stitching. Even the ct200h had the stitching above the instrument cluster
This NX makes me proud to be a Lexus stan! Great review! 😁
👍
Why do you want to be a Stan?
finally lexus is stepping up on tech.
They bought a coal mine first.
By sacrificing luxury lol
Alright, I'm gonna end this misconception that everyone has with the Lexus badging, but this isn't the first time they've fully spelt the name Lexus on a car. Literally many of their first and second generation modeled cars have Lexus spelt out on the back. Like, even their first car, the 1989 Lexus LS400, also had the name fully spelt out. Sure, it's not as spaced out as to the one presented in the new NX, but they've done it MULTIPLE times.
The rear spelling reminds me of a Lincoln especially since they’re doing the strip taillight. Kinda prefer just the logo
Yeah the Lexus script on the rear gave me Lincoln vibes too.
Not Porsche?
@@criancrna1487 The script and placement of the letters looks more Lincoln to me, like it's trying to be elegant (doesn't really work for this car though since it kind of contradicts the "sporty" styling IMO). Porsche usually puts their script on the middle tail light bar and in a sportier orientation.
I like it. Would like to see how it stacks up to rav4 prime. I hope they come out with a soft road version with more chin clearance. Id like to be able to get to trail heads etc, but have a nicer ride than a rav4
Definitely not that type of vehicle Mate sorry.
Grass, flat dirt roads at best...
Not flattering from Car & Driver: "...With 275 horsepower, it's more powerful than rivals such as the Audi Q3, BMW X1, and Mercedes-Benz GLA. Pronounced turbo lag hampers this advantage, however. The 3,987-pound NX hits 60 mph in 6.6 seconds, 0.9 second behind the 228-hp X1. With the boost fully on boil, the NX covers the quarter-mile in 15.0 seconds at 95 mph...On the road, the cabin is not particularly quiet, however. We measured 74 decibels at full throttle and 70 decibels at a 70-mph cruise...."On the road, the cabin is not particularly quiet, however. Redline Reviews and Sarah -n - Tuned are my go to for reviews! 👍👍
55.9k for a 450h awd is crazy. This is a rav 4 prime in nicer metal. I'll wait for Lyriq
Some people love labels. Oftentimes buying "generic" is the better play. While the NX is "prettier" the Rav is a better value in every trim
@@turo3066 Yeah the RAV4 Prime is cheaper, slightly faster and has better electric range.
A Lexus ES is just a nicer Camry, Acura TLX is a more luxurious Accord. Price difference is very noticeable but also the feel and ride quality is unmatched.
@@wazgoodjj the tlx is not literally an accord. The suspension, platform, type S, interior are completely different. The tlx has a double wishbone front suspension.
@@scm3294 Good luck finding one, if you do bring an extra 15 grand to win the bidding war.
The way the integrated the screen is rather nice, as opposed to a slab of tablet stuck on the dash.
Love the color- and I’m still sorta digging Lexus’ design language. It’s unique to me and looks better on some vehicles compared to others from them. The grille certainly looks better on crossovers and SUVs. That color though!
Genesis GV70 blows this out the door in most aspects
I agree, except the potential reliability and no hybrid engine option. This NX is overpriced.
Genesis dealers and customer service is GARBAGE.
TOYOTA/LEXUS has proven track record of reliability, durability and value appreciation.
LEXUS is the waaaaay to GO!!!!!
The interior looks cheap and Toyota corolla cross inside.
@@1malikalik uhhh I just got my rx450h and I think the salesman is garbage. I love the vehicle so much so I didn’t spend much time talking with the salesman and ignore the dealership experience but man that’s not what I expected for buying a luxury vehicle. All he said is something like he’s being patient which makes me mad because you should be patient when you are selling a luxury vehicle. I don’t think he would have the same attitude if he’s facing a 50 years old buyer. BTW I’m 20.

Using your logic here: A bad waitress doesn't nullify the fact that the food was delicious and the restaurant was great.
What I usually do is request to substitute my inept salesman with a more knowledgeable one. Cars today are exceedingly technical and soon it will be prerequisite for a salesman to have a PHD in IT and Computer Science from Yale.
Lexus is a GREAT PRODUCT in every conceivable level.
I like where Lexus design language is going. Its getting refined for the newer generation
The interior going backwards
The interior reminds me of a Toyota Camry… but it’s a vast improvement from the previous Gen NX.
I see that too. But I own the 2020 Camry XSE and I like the interior especially in the red.
Looks nice, reminds me a little about the Venza
thanks for bringing up the dashboard/design issues, they definitely didnt make it look very luxurious at all. the previous nx dashboard/design honestly looked more luxurious, just not as functional.
The RDX, GV70, XC60, GLC, Porsche, Alfa, Land Rover eat this up for lunch

Good video. But a suggestion... You guys need to change the camera lens you're using. All of your videos have a lot of barrel distortion. Doesn't do the car's justice because the images are distorted.
I was surprised to see the electronically power door handles when I saw the new NX at the Chicago Auto Show I went up to sit thinking it had the more tradition door handles so I pulled it and was very surprised to see it was so traditional.
Yes, sure it's very surprise that.❤

*350z for sure! like we can’t tell a Vq and the shape wasn’t nearly blurred enough*
Apart from that touchscreen, I think the previews gen NX has a better interior. Looks way more luxurious than this one. Apart from that, it a good evolution from the previews gen.
And this is why the younger buyers will NOT and are NOT buying Lexus vehicles at the same rate as they buy an Audi, Mercedes, or BMW. EVERYONE continue to tell Lexus to SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASE the damn horsepower over and over and over. Lexus engineers simply DON’T LISTEN! So annoying!!!!!

What’s odd though is that you can go faster than the Lexus in a Toyota. The rav4 prime for example is faster than the nx450h+, or heck even a v6 rav4 is faster than the nx 350 turbo
Are the side mirrors and rear mirrors auto dimming?
Do you have a review where you state just the facts and not biased opinions? I like the portions of your reviews where you just state the facts and avoid the subjective statements.
Honestly, the only reasons I’d choose this over an RDX is for the plug in hybrid or the infotainment. Also reliability. RDX just seems like a better value.
The hybrid is the only recommended option. All other nx are just lackluster

The RAV4 and this are basically all the car 80% of humanity would need 99% of the time. Of course no one "needs" luxury but its nice to have a quieter vehicle and some people just want nice things too. There is an engine to fit pretty much anyones desire, and its Toyota so its built better than any other car on Earth and will last 20+ years with ease. Oh and the spindle grille actually is done well here; no god-ugly implementation like on their bigger SUVs. Slam dunk.
Some cheaper alternatives like Honda or Mazda or Acura or even Hyundai and Kia are just as well built as Toyota and Lexus but they tend to offer nicer interiors or better materials or better polish to the small things like technology or vehicle dynamics

I agree about the downgrade on the interior materials but why does Tesla get a pass on using faux everything and bad fit finish but can charge luxury prices? 😂🤣 sofyan you need to travel with your bug spray, you stood in there and got the job done thoroughly 👍
In our testing, we beat the Lexus-estimated acceleration to 60 mph by a full half-second, hitting 60 in 5.5 seconds versus the quoted 6.0-second time. That's quicker than the other 2022 NX models we've tested, but a 2021 XC60 Recharge reaches 60 in a MotorTrend-tested 5.0 seconds. We haven't yet tested a Q5 plug-in, but Audi estimates its model to be just as quick as the Volvo. In case you wonder, the lighter-weight RAV4 Prime matches the NX450h+'s 5.5-second time to 60.
This means the NX plug-in hybrid is both the quickest NX money can buy and the slowest SUV in its tiny segment.
