  • Video #750: Teresa Salgado is the creator of these unique acrylic tools for making and manipulating your polymer clay canes... More Info: www.beadsandbea... Polymer Clay Tutor.
In today's video I'm going to share with you some really great acrylic tools from Teresa Salgado (aka Tiny Pandora).
They are designed for working with and making polymer clay canes. Teresa was kind enough to send me a complete lineup these products for demo purposes.
The first set are the Cane Caps (2 small square caps, 2 large square caps, 2 small round caps and 2 large round caps). They can be used to help reduce the amount of "end" waste that can happen during the cane reduction process.
Then there are the Cane Benders and Square Benders, which are sets of 4 different sizes of acrylic Lucite Rods. These are wonderful for putting long ridges and channels down the length of a cane, which is especially handy when making picture canes and Kaleidoscope canes.
Lastly, the Square Pairs set is 3 different sized pairs of hollow acrylic square rods. They will help you to reshape round canes into square canes, and they can also be used for squaring up angular canes.
All of these cane making tools are made from high quality Lucite Acrylic. They are strong, smooth and non-reactive to polymer clay.
In the video I show you what these tools look like, how I store them and I briefly explain how they are used.
Teresa has some great videos that go further into detail on how to use the tools. She also shares some unique ideas for making kaleidoscope canes, among other things. I've provided a link to her UA-cam Channel, below.
I sure wish I had these tools earlier, because they would have made some of my cane making projects a lot easier to do, with a lot less waste!

I enjoyed Cindy's demonstration of your cane bending tools. I have fallen in love with making polymer clay jewelry (largely because of your videos Teresa), but until now canes have intimidated me. But no longer--I will be buying your cane tools. Thank you ladies for sharing your creativity with us in such a warm and generous way.

One video involving my two favorite polymer clay artists: You & Pandora! I was so excited to find out that Teresa will be teaching a class at the polymer clay adventure in paradise next year. The only thing that could have made it better would have been you teaching a class also!

That is sweet Wendi! I am WAY too busy this year to do anything more than what we have already committed to (plus as a Canadian I am not allowed to teach in the USA... so there's that) but I would love to be able to teach at a retreat like that. It would be fun to teach alongside my fellow collegues like Teresa and to get the chance to spend some one on one time with students like you! Perhaps one day...

I know, they announced it in the pca group. I'll admit, I was sad when I found out. I originally decided to go just so I could meet you! I'm sure I'll still have fun though, just not as much as if you were there lol I hope everything is okay with you, sweetie. My first thought when they announced it was that I hoped nothing bad was happening for you and your family that made you cancel. ❤️ you, Teresa!!

Do you have a video of the Michaels brand craft smart polymer clay? I would love to see a video on this to see in detail what this clay is like. Also I really love watching your videos, watching you is what gave me such an interest in polymer clay.

Thanks for the comprehensive review Cindy. I have all of these sets and am finding new ways to use them everyday. I love the idea of using the tiny round one to put a hole through the cane to add elements that way, Brilliant! I know all about Canadian teachers being restricted from teaching in the states . I thought you'd like to know that we are working hard to build a bigger polymer clay community in Ontario and eastern Canada. I have started a new guild in Ontario , Great Lakes Polymer Clay Group, and we will be looking for Canadian clay teachers to give workshops in the future. We had Claire Maunsell this past summer and also had booked Patricia Roberts Thompson who had to cancel unfortunately but hopefully we'll get her here next year. You're definitely on our wish list if you would like to come east sometime. Thanks again and keep claying!

Yes Nan that would be something we would definitely be interested in talking with you about. I don't know if you have my direct email but since I can't post it here, you can get it by going to www.polymerclaytutor.com and using the contact us button. Please email with your ideas and we can look into booking a future workshop with you guys!

    • @PolymerClayTutor

No I don't actually. That was a cane that I was planning on making into a quick tutorial but it ended up taking a really long time to make and the tutorial would have taken forever. A lot of others have asked for it though, so I should put it on my list of "Things to try and figure out how to make easier"! LOL

I would love these but when I sent for the Canebenders I had to pay £15 duty to Royal Mail which makes it very expensive for us who live in UK. We have nothing similar here.

    • @PolymerClayTutor
      @PolymerClayTutor  8 років тому

Yeah the International Mail system isn't always perfect. It can make some things too expensive to make sense.
