as a child I always drank from the hose. It always tasted like the hose when you first started to drink and you had to let it run a few seconds or you got hot water if the hose was laying in the sun. lol. Mom wouldnt let us in to get a drink out of the fridge. I think she was glad to have the house all to herself for a while. lol.

My mom would not let us back in the house in the summer after she mopped & waxed the floors until they dried so if we got thirsty, the "hose pipe" was where you got hydrated. FYI, lived on west coast for 8 years, nobody out there has a clue what a hose pipe is 🤔🤭🙄.

We eat so much rice, I cook it by the 3 cups at a time for my family of 3! I switched to using the EPC, too, and it's set and forget. I use chicken bouillon granules and 3 cups water, and recently, have started adding a tablespoon of turmeric at the same time. If you like that spice, it's so good, and the color is so beautiful. I too, rinse, drain, and sauté the rice until it's nice and golden before I add the water, bouillon, and turmeric. Set at 4 minutes, and leave for a natural release. It's always perfectly cooked and I store in fridge for sides and for egg fried rice ... my daughter loves to add frozen veggies and an egg to the rice for her breakfast. Liked this video - TFS!

Team Cilantro, all the way! And yes, I drank from a hose when I was young. That broccoli-cheese-rice is definitely going to be a side, soon. Yes, as a kid growing up in the Texas Panhandle we drank out of the water hose. In the summer you learned very quick to let the water run for a minute or else you were drinking water that was almost boiling. It also washed out any critters that may have crawled in there to get out of the sun. I've now learned another regional word, "poppies". We called them soda pops. Thanks for this video, I need more rice recipes and the first one looks really good.

I'm almost 77 yrs old, so of course I drank water from the hose. It's amazing how many things we did growing up that is to dangerous now. I wonder how we all made it growing up??? LOL Mandy I love all of these recipes. Have had Velvetta cheese since I was a kid, love grilled cheese sandwiches made with Velvetta.

I live on a horse farm so I STILL drink from the water hose! I even have scooped up water with my hand from the horse trough. I am 76 years old so it hasn't killed me yet. 😉

You can also steam your eggs in that for hard boiled eggs. They come out perfect, no green rings and peel easily.

A year ago I got a mini potato style masher at hobby lobby. Great for avocado and boiled eggs. I've also seen people use the meat chopper that you can find at dollar tree for 1.25. I've seen you have the one from pampered chef.
Your rice avocado rice reminds me of the bottom of my Chipotle burrito bowl, when I order it with the rice and guacamole! So good!❤

For your cllantro lime rice, add 1/4 -1/2 tsp of mojo seasoning (dry seasoning salt) to your rice While cooking. It wil make it even tastier. Mojo is citrus based seasoning with some onion and garlic background, it will surprise you.

Oh WOW, that broccoli cheese rice is right up my street. Pity the hubby doesn't like broccoli, but he'll have to just go without, I've got to make that. We didn't have a garden, or anything close to that when I was growing up. I lived in the Gorbals of Glasgow in the 1960's, google it, you'll see lol. I'm definitely team cilantro, love love love the idea of that avocado, cilantro lime rice. Oh my Mandy, you've outdone yourself this week, ALL of these rice recipes are phenomenal and I can't wait to try them. Thank you soooo much for sharing xxx

Me and my cousins always drank from the water hose!!! Even after it's been buried in the DIRT for days!!!! We just brush it off, turn on the hose, and rinse it off and put it to our lips!!! Me and my cousins did even more than that, too. We would wade in a creek, ride 2 on a bike, get scraped up and get iodine put on our cuts and shoved outside, and climbed the jungle gym and fell off many times, and we STILL continued playing until the street lights came on. We had the best childhood!!!! We had fun!!! No cell phones, no video games. We had our imaginations to invent stuff to do. I was even climbing trees with my kids when I was 28 years old! Yes, we were dangerous and adventurous. And we did it again the next day. AAAAHHHHH... those were the good ol' days!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
