- We opened up the Mach-100, and now we've got it rewired to a LiPo. Currently, only the switch plate and rewrite kit is up on the shop, but check back later and we may have more goodies to make this a hyper beast.

-As said in the video, the LiPo mod does improve the muzzle velocity (FPS), but the feed rate remains inconsistent and that seems down to the grippy nature of the TPE hyper rounds.
-Having done more testing, we have determined that using a 3s LiPo with this blaster is unsustainable and may ultimately destroy your motors. MOD AT YOUR OWN RISK! A 2s LiPo will last a long time and should be very reliable.

I love the third party and 3D printing community but I find they fire too hard for my younger nerf group. Is there are softer hitting sidearm or a weaker spring you would recommend? I'm thinking anywhere under 80 fps should be good as we do have a few whiners. Thanks!

Does this mod help with the inconsistent rate of fire? I wasn't sure if this was agitating the rounds on to a conveyor, and the inconsistency or misfiring was down to the ammo not porting into the conveyor system. If the system is pretty much gravity fed it becomes extremely complex because of the innumerable ways the spheres can interact, and the fact that they are made out of material that will change with heat and moisture, becoming more or less tacky... The computational modelling technique used in fuid dynamics to analyse and possibly solve this is known as DEM (Discrete Element Method).
@@MarynaraSauc3_ most stock hasbro dart blasters hit around 70fps, the other ammo types hit a little harder. you can also normally customize 3d printed blasters for very low fps with weak springs/flywheels, but i don't see a reason to not just buy a stock blaster instead
Wait, are the Mach's motors not the typical stock rival motors? I thought those could take a 3S lipo no problem.

Nice mod guide! You are getting very good at making them now, I couldn't tell whether you were speaking as you did it or if it was a voiceover. Personally, I do most of the wiring outside of the blaster and heatshrink everything but the way you did it looked very neat. It would be interesting to see a hop-up for this, maybe also an extended hopper or a funnel to make reloading easier. Thank you! 💚🤍💙

So I have used gorilla brand hot glue on every blasted I have modded including my customers and it has worked great for me. Awsome mod guide. Love a your videos can't wait for next one.

First looks at the tray and realizing no rechargeable planned by mothership means next set of Hyper releases can go somewhere better performance-wise. Thanks for putting the time in which you could have easily spent having more fun trying hyper ammo through your modded PERSES - there, cat's outa the bag - can we hope to see you at JEBB5/6 this month Luke???

Can you do an infinus mod guide? It is just so complicated inside and I don’t want to risk breaking any of the electronics.

@@kennethd2412 all you need to do is buck it and then wire the flywheels/pusher like a Rapidstrike
Got your mod kit will be using it soon on my mach 100 hope indont mess it up had to buy the parts seperatly in your store since your kits were sold out only thing i couldnt find in your atore was the yellow wire other than that everything else was there
So, not only does it feed worse than the Perses out of the box, Hasbro have skimped on the motors too so that you cant really ramp up the performance? If you listen closely, you can hear my already limited enthusiasm for Hyper sliding right down the toilet. Nice guide though!

Thank you for the work producing these mod videos. I have also followed and had success with the Nemesis mod as well. A question regarding the FPS enhancement with the mach 100 mod I just completed though. My math tells me that fully charged the 2S lipo is 8.4 volts, but the 6 D-cell batteries this is designed for equal 9 volts, so the lipo battery is .6 volts less than the D-cells, so how do we get higher fps performance when providing less voltage? I understand that the mod still provides the convenience and value of a rechargeable battery, so that is still a good reason you might opt for the modification, but I don't understand how it would increase the blasters fps rating.
You should do a mod guide on the siege 50 and make a part to add a hop up to the rush 40.
If Hasbro came up with a new compound to make the Hyper ammo i feel like the feeding probs would be gone.
EDiT: well y'all talked about making a new cage well seeing how it hasn't happened yet I did it on my own and I used drone motors and carbon fiber plates now I'm pushing over 400 fps
You can put half length darts or full dsrts in and it will fire with a 2s lipo
can you rifle a blaster to make it more accurate? this is just a Is It Possible question, not really a DO THIS NOW question
There are some barrels or attachments for custom dart blasters which add some twist but with the Hyper round it's not going to work.
Did this mod increase the fire rate or decrease jamming at all?
Fire rate is improved at about the same rate as the FPS, but it does not improve the feed inconsistencies of the ammo itself. - Perry

Why did you solder the negative wire on the NC firing switch ?

The negative wire helps deenergize the circuit for the purpose of motor braking the hopper agitator when the trigger is not depressed

Could you use a MOSFET to control motor speed? If so could said MOSFET be set up to create an easily adjustable external knob to control pusher speed in something like a Rapid Strike?

you could do a pwm. He sells them and u can get them cheap on amazon
Man I want this strippers. I tried finding them last year and couldn’t find them and ended up with a different set, but I don’t think they can split in the middle like yours.
Search for "self-adjusting" or "automatic" wire strippers, and you should find a couple just like mine! We also sell automatic wire strippers on our website, though they are a different design: outofdarts.com/products/wire-stripper

Do you think that hyper will be nerfs saving grace?
So far, definitely. The blasters are held together with only screws, not glue and clips like Elite 2.0 and Ultra. That's gonna be a huge deal not just for modders, but for buyers who are inevitably gonna need to do maintenance later down the line.

Is there a plan to upgrade the motors to ones that would be 4-6s capable? Love this mod, just want to not burn my motors out so easy.
There are no current plans to offer upgraded motors. We even changed the recommendation on our mod kit to only run 2S LiPos because the risk of burning out the motors on 3S was too great.
What is the RPM on the blaster after the mod?
any chance for the stl on that switch plate?
Did this mod improve the "spool up" time? My factory hyper takes at least 3 seconds to speed up fast enough to start shooting.
Yes, that's largely due to the limits in current draw from the alkaline cells. A LiPo provides much more current much more quickly.

Have you done a mod guide for the charger?
Charger mod can be found on “naptown nerf” channel. I modded mine using that guide but still don’t really use the charger because of the low qty internal mag. That being said, I LOVED the charger until I bought a perses.

Ok so I’m new to nerf I let a friend talk me into looking into the hobby and we went to wall mart and I grabbed one of these thinking it was gonna be awesome and sadly was a little disappointed now I’m looking at modding stuff can we put krackens or another better motor in it
Unfortunately, like with many Nerf Rival blasters, there's no easy way to replace the motors or flywheels.
Any follow up on Jupiter cage?
Unfortunately, no. The Mach-100 turned out to be limited in its mod potential. Also, Hyper as an ammo type has been controversial, and many clubs and games have banned it outright. If Hasbro makes more blasters and more events allow Hyper, we might revisit.
What soldering iron do you use
We have serval different models, but Luke really likes the Weller brand. - Perry
a shot of hot glue in between the switch terminals isn't a bad idea.
Can you change the motors to a brushless motors
With both Rival and Hyper flywheelers, replacing the motors and/or flywheels is difficult. I'm not saying it can't be done, but It would only be something we'd recommend to the experienced modder.
There's always rechargeable D batteries, I guess.

Where’s that hopper you promised?
Unfortunately, it isn't practical. After testing, we found that there's really no easy way to overcome the sticky ammo, and making a larger hopper would only add weight to the struggling feed mech. Additionally, many clubs and games outright banned hyper ammo because of concerns about littering, further limiting appeal.
Do hyper rounds work in the jt splat master pistol?
I'm pretty sure those are 12.5mm or 50 caliber, hyper rounds are 14.5mm

Could you make it shoot rival?
Making it shoot rival would be difficult, and we have since learned that the gearbox doesn't hold up to 3s voltages, making converting to a larger ammo type even more impractical. If it's the form-factor and rate of fire you're looking for, we would recommend instead modding a Rival Perses.

We used to! However, we found it made much more sense to design or license complete community blasters and only provide mod kits for injection-molded blasters.
