I grew up in a household were my mom would make homemade fries at least once a week. When I was old enough I would make the fried. I'm a homemade fry champ. I never even knew they had frozen fries until I was older. I thought everyone made them like my family.
I find I'm hit or miss with fries.. I roast potatoes with montreal steak spice and fresh rosemary, with just a little oil. People can't get enough so I guess roasting is more my thing.
Mmm montreal steak spice is great; i use it mainly with protein so i haven't tried it on potatoes, but I might try roasted potatoes with montreal spice & rosemary now that I'm thinking about it sometime. ~Ry
I like Lee Anne and I understand she's an OG from season one. But I think she just can't win and is not a threat to anybody. Maybe she was the only one available to do the show, but I just don't think she can win.
Sometimes "basic" is the best thing in the world when it's executed well. Making excellent french fries from scratch is actually quite challenging, which is one reason why the other chefs went the "non-basic" route.
To help with your oversimplifying - it's the mistakes that are made under pressure that make Top Chef what it is! There would not be a show if they cooked flawlessly 100% of the time.
I am french and watching top chef USA is one of the funniest thing on the web . I supposed it s like US people watching the voice france. Keep like this guys you expectations on what is high level cooking are so cute
@@lokaen8297 let's talk in english, more respectful :) . In france this week they had to create an inovative way of cooking eggs judged by an international world specialist of creative ways of cooking the egg, he asked them "let me taste something i never tasted before" almost impossible on paper, and some succeed. and in USA it looks like a competition for the menu of a beach club in ibiza... ahah that s so funny the space beetween the two of them.
@@sammorcuti7337 I'm watching the US and French version since a long time and I don't agree with your latest statement. The earliest US seasons contestants didn't demonstrate the most level of cooking skills than the French. However the US chefs now have practically the same level than the French ones. I love watching the French to see the techniques but I enjoy watching the US to see the creativity. And you compare a 40 minutes format to a three hour one. I'm French and I'm proud of my country cooking culture but we need to stop saying that we're the best because it's not true.

Bar Crudo is actually one of my favorite restaurants in SF!!!!!! ♥️♥️♥️
are there any potatoes on the menu?
McDonald's is my favorite.
Marcel should have won season two.
This 100000%. iLan just out saffron in everything and there was a clear hatred towards Marcel and his cooking methods.
Marcel even beat ilan in Season 4 challenge hehehe
100 💯
He's a cheater...I have always disliked him.
Marcel is the best
Marcel should have won season 2. The rest of them ganged up on him and successfully cheated him out of his win. He was consistently better than Ilan.
😎🚀
Totally!!!
Arrogance will always lose in the end, no matter how talented you are
You mean the best out of a mediocre bunch…

What a slap in the face to the chefs that actually turned the potatoes into something non basic 😂

Kwame is my husband. That's all.
Kwame had a fling with superhead and she claimed to be pregnant with his child.

If you over cooked salmon and you work in a seafood featured restaurant, you don't belong on top chef.

No this is season 15, PDX is season 18

Not 1 of these humans soaked the starch out of their potatoes. Get a job making fries 🤣🤣🤣 what amateurs.
How long do these chefs get to make a dish?
They don't have time to soak the fries so they just run cold water over it until it comes out clear and not starchy. 🙏😁
