This TV series was my main motivation to take three years of German language training in high school (1967-1970) a skill set that served me well during my [Cold War}Tour of duty in Nuremberg )1976-1979)
Guest star Warren Stevens highlights this episode and makes it happen, and his lines as "now your talking like a tanker" and "we're gunna get that gun." and "How are we going to make it up that?!" LOL!!
We didn't have a color T.V. when this show was first in color for season 5, so I'm going to try to watch all of these. I do recall that it was still a top-notch show during its last season, but perhaps not as high a notch as they achieved consistently before, particularly seasons 2 through 4. There were great shows in season 1, too, but they were still trying to find their footing. However, from 1963 to 1966, this was the best drama on television.
Back in the day .....Combat on tv and GI Joe and little green army men in the backyard ..... GI Joe looked a lot like Warren Steven's, especially in this episode ..... I was born in 67 and didnt see Combat until 1982 on a satellite channel ...... it was awsome ! .....I've always built military model kits and collect old GI Joe's and the boxed set of DVDs is on the shelf with some of the other stuff ......
"Now your talking like a tanker!" great line..and "now your thinking like a foot solgier"..and the catch all phrase.."how do we know if we can fire it?"..great stuff..Robert at 67.
Sekian lama aq mencari iNi film Akhir nya ketemu jg 😁 Film combat . . Film yg sangat menghiburku Di jaman masa kecil Ku . . Sampai sekarang, aq msh mengingat stiap detil adegan 🤩🤩
Just doesn't seem as good visually in vibrant color. But IN COLOR was all the rage back then. My Dad bought a cheap color TV and he had to degauss it every week else one of corner would turn purple! Once a month he had to realign the picture guns or ALL the screen went goofy. Ah yes, the good old days. No one born after say 1960 would remember these high maintenance color TVs. I was born in 1956. My wife and I had a 9" B&W TV when we were married in 1977. She felt guilty when we got our first color TV. Now we don't even own a TV! FREEDOM!
German falling over the camoflage net being shot at the gun very realistic without being overly dramatic, excessive screaming, and blood being spurt from every direction, like in more current 90's movies and on..Robert at 67.
My favorite movie when iwas young, i remember My father too always watching combat or any related in military bcause My father his the one soldiers in 1941 world war 2 in Philippines
German soldiers in front showed great courage. It's a pity they couldn't resist the tanks. Then anti-tank gunners did a good job, they avenged their dead comrades. Seems the goddess of victory is smiling at the Germans. But unfortunately, infantry's search was not cautious enough. Wish I was one of the German soldiers, remind our lads to beware of machine gun ambushes and help our artillery-men fend off the sneak attack in our rear.
"They really make 'um beautifull"..the look on Warren Steven's face..excellent acting. I would venture even better than the subdued emotion of Vic Morrows acting chops..Robert at 67.
There is a union rule that if they go further than 30 miles from the studio, they get extra pay for work.Thats why the areas look the same show to show.
When I heard that voiceover artist mentioned Warren Stevens as guest star in this installment, this reminds me of a similar episode in MASH-only it was a small one-something Frank Burns stole and let Radar take the fall.
Combat! Starring Mic Vorrow and Jick Rason! :) I have a million of em, like for instance, Lurt Bancaster(Burt Lancaster) and Wohn Jayne!(Figure that one out!)
it was the 1960s tv was young still, Combat was still the most realistic war show on during that time, and the were a lot of them, i was born in 53 i was raised on this stuff
I have the first 4 seasons...B/W...and I didn’t buy the color ones because I never liked the show in color. And from what I’ve read, neither did Vic Morrow.
It must have hard to find that many blonde men to play the German soldiers over the five years considering how few men (including german men) actually have blonde blonde hair.
I have an original Combat ! TV series Board Game by Ideal (based on the ABC network TV show). Have all the original game pieces, the game 'spinner' and it's an excellent condition. Have not see any on Ebay.
@john h It Is Wayne Rodgers, the german soldier does look like Redford But I don't think he is. If it were possible, I would like to ask Wayne Rodgers if they REALY worked that hard making the scene hauling that Gun up that hill and how much fun they had. I know how hard it is hauling something up a hill like that . I have done stuff like that for real. Also for this story they copied the story, In an old movie, I believe it was the Pride and the Passion ( true story). Read the next post.
@@stevelopez372 Steve the commander never said a word he just looked around one of Sanders men said they have all had it and never checked on the truck driver I WATCHED IT OVER AND OVER!!!!
Flynn- you are right. For each GI killed, 10 Germans are killed. Plain math. LOL. They had no way of sustaining the war with that kind of kill ratio! All according to Combat!
+ Damian Flynn , are you forgetting that a long time before D.Day , the Afrika Corps got routed in the North African Desert along with their Italian Axis Allies , largely by the British and Commonwealth Armies . Then they bled themselves hard at Stalingrad , and were thinned out along the way by Partisans in every country that they invaded . Then the defence of Berlin was all against the vengeful Red Army . Yes , it is well documented that the Kill ratio quoted the comments here is valid , but other Military interests were involved over a much larger area . And don't forget the conscripted teenagers and boys in the German Army late in the War .
Everyone in the war that was not brainwashed knew how the war would end after D-day landing. Germans were fighting a defensive war after that. Stalling for time trying to survive only. The Germans best chance was stopping the D-Day landing and they failed miserably.
Now I know why my uncles told me to watch “Combat” on UA-cam when I can. Very exciting and men with true courage and good values.
Warren Stevens great in this episode.."we're gunna get that gun"..AND "how can we know if we can fire it?"..my sentiments exactly.. Robert at 67.
Super film. A must to watch.

"Guest Star Wayne Rogers"
This is why the small green toy soldiers you played when you were just a kid became very popular for decades.
Love it it, "Those tankers dont mess around!" AND "Now your talking like a tanker." LOL! Robert at 67.

Whoever put this on UA-cam; I love you man!
in the 60's I was happy Combat in Color but still B/W in my tv Motorola hahahha

It's great seeing this in color, since when growing up, all we had was a B & W TV which was usually on the "fritz". LOL !! Love this !!

Suka sekali film ini ! Waktu itu aku masih berumur sekitar 9tahun 😅
German falling over the camoflage net being shot at the gun very realistic without being overly dramatic, excessive screaming, and blood being spurt from every direction, like in more current 90's movies and on..Robert at 67.
12:49 is the most realistic, the German soldier went from shock to pain and finally to despair...
My favorite movie when iwas young, i remember
My father too always watching combat or any related in military bcause
My father his the one soldiers in 1941 world war 2 in Philippines
This is great, in war you always get more wounded than dead. Yet the opening scene, all Germans dead, not one wounded.
In the show Combat the new guy to the squad was always killed. Watched this show every week.
I loved watching this as a child in the 60's. Funny part of this episode is when the Germans are fighting a tank with rifles....
When it's all you've got, you use rifles against a tank.
QUE SERIE TAN CHINGONA, ME RECUERDA MI NIÑEZ CON ELA CRECI, HASTA A FECHA TODAVIA ME DIVIERTO MUCHO VIENDOLA...
The Germans got some heat under their belt. Hard to take
It's unbearable to see the German soldiers attacked from behind by the enemy.
i still watch and like this show its a lot better on color
I don't remember Combat! In Color either cause we didn't have a color TV till maybe 1970!
Nice to see the squad went thru Panzergrenadier school between seasons 4 and 5.
The squad went mechanized
It's Trapper John!
oh hell yea one of my favorite episodes

The camo cover on Saunders' helmet is not a USMC cover. It came from a camo parachute that was dropped on D-Day.
"They really make 'um beautifull"..the look on Warren Steven's face..excellent acting. I would venture even better than the subdued emotion of Vic Morrows acting chops..Robert at 67.
Thanks for again for uploading!
Hearing some sounds said that I become king...the world king
Love them tanks
Saunders , Kirby, Cage, Doc, Lt. Nelson, little John . Loved this series growing up
Filim combat adalah filim kesukaan saya dan sering saya tonton di tahun 95
Yep, it's the contrast and adding the real footage, but hey our favourite characters are still around.
Trapper off the future Mash series a lot of actors got their start on here.
oh hell yea still one of my favorite episodes
Did Vic Morrow ever get wounded in all the firefights he was in, seems like he and his men were bullet proof in most of the series.
TANK beats guns U RUN!!!!!
A quote of his, apparently he didn't want to get up into a helicopter because he had premonitions he would die in a helicopter crash.

My favorite tv when i was a kid.
fantastic.
the german soldier w/ the bucket is roger moore....
"Vic was the father of Carrie Ann Morrow and actress Jennifer Jason Leigh." I didn't know they were related until just now

Great episode in color,Let's chop some wood,OMG pannzer😶😲😟😩
Trapper John before he got his medical degree,
looks like this episode was filmed in Oregon. I noticed the black berry bushes.
There is a union rule that if they go further than 30 miles from the studio, they get extra pay for work.Thats why the areas look the same show to show.
Kick as* show.
the gun is a small Sherman tank? yes
ingat jaman dulu waktu bocil nonton film combat malam Jum'at
Thank you very much for sharing this !! Appreciate you.
Haha, this is the first time I have seen these in color.

That looks like an M41 Walker Bulldog tank.
As Ed McMahon used to say..to JC....'You are correct Sir'. I have one in World of Tanks internet game.
The M41 Bulldog made alot of appearance in Combat. Including as German Tanks. Lol!
No wonder the German flipped out hearing the panzer coming.
Lanjut film kesukaan aq
Trapper John! Guest star Warren Stevens, but not Wayne Rogers. That's funny!
When I heard that voiceover artist mentioned Warren Stevens as guest star in this installment, this reminds me of a similar episode in MASH-only it was a small one-something Frank Burns stole and let Radar take the fall.
I always liked Vic Morrow
Combat! Starring Mic Vorrow and Jick Rason! :) I have a million of em, like for instance, Lurt Bancaster(Burt Lancaster) and Wohn Jayne!(Figure that one out!)

@ 11:06 you can clearly see that the ammo in the cloth belt for the 30 cal has blanks loaded in it...tsk, tsk, tsk! Shame on Continuity!!! LOL!

M*A*S*H* / COMBAT crossover.....
The show is so different in color.
How come tank is not a Sherman !!
Anybody else recognize Wayne Rodgers (Trapper John) and his name in this is Rodger. lol
Es uno de los mejores capitulo de Combate, lastima que no tienen en español
Oh no, the last series! I'm really going to miss it when I've finished it.
United States is just one of 35 countries in America
I have the first 4 seasons...B/W...and I didn’t buy the color ones because I never liked the show in color. And from what I’ve read, neither did Vic Morrow.
Fire and move!
Warren Stevens got some work in this (Doc Ostrow, "Forbidden Planet").
I thought they said "Warren Zevon"!
It must have hard to find that many blonde men to play the German soldiers over the five years considering how few men (including german men) actually have blonde blonde hair.

After watching this Combat series, it's easy to understand why Germany lost the war. They had no chance against our warriors.
actually, they abandoned their atomic bomb research, had they not, they may have had it months before we did
