It would be cool but I have a feeling that the F/A-18 is going to get added first since it went into service before the F-14D did. Also a lot of people think the F-14D was the super tomcat but it wasn’t. The super tomcat was going to be the F-14E which was never made do to the F-14 being retired from service. But it would still be cool for gaijin to add the F-14E into war thunder.
@@RageabenI think it depends on whether it get AMRAAMs or not. If it gets amraams it will bring completely new gameplaying and it would be acceptable to be in the naval tree. If its not, its just a dual-engine, dull F-16 and it would be appropriate to be in the attacker tree.
They changed it recently. Previously sparrows used to explode after 3 seconds and no lock, now it's 20 seconds. But the seeker is still crap and will a lot of times make the missile do a u-turn for no reason after losing lock. So regaining a lock and getting a kill comes down to luck.
@@Ryan-go6id yea it's the best at requiring a lock. 1 popular strategy with the r27 is to climb to high alt, get above mach 1 lock a target 35-50km away launch, immediately unlock, wait till the missile is close to to target relock and get a kill without giving any warning. It's a complete fabrication by gaijin no way it could do that irl. I've heard that the r27 seeker was actually unreliable, so typical Russian bias.
man USA in 1980s where on crack for cancelling a lot of next-gen planes and missile aim95 was like longer range r73 with better turn{55g without thrust vector } and speed Mach 3.5 with hmd too and that was in 1977 its crazy really and you have way better aim120 the aim152 imagine if the aim54 can turn its longer range and 30/35g arh missile and you have even the aim7R better range and speed and turn and oh boy the f21 super cat was going to be better f14 in turn and speed but guess who thought it wasn't good idea because they thought Ussr where nowhere near there level {lol they were} said the aim152 and aim95 and f21 cost are too high {lol not like anything is low cost} man usa in 1980s were lazy fr
f14 was just made to bully ppl in this game. I swear ive seen an f14 launch like 16 missles before , take out 6ppl from the enemy team and then just went on with their day \
The fact this thing is at 12.0 and doesn’t have its two under intake external fuel tanks and/or AIM-9M’s is beyond me

How does one do that? Haven't been able to figure out how to regain lock and keep any middle tracking
