Kate’s smirk when she sees someone about to break character
I'd venture to say she gets off on it. Especially if it's someone that's hard to break.
I'd say for at least the last 10 years, probably about half the skits have at least one character break. It gets kind of annoying.

The best sketches are usually the ones where everyone is losing their shit because of one person. Especially if they got the veterans losing it.
This was funny. I loved watching the Carol Burnett show. Tim could make everyone laugh.

Millions of Americans are dying each and every day and you people are talking about idiotic and long forgotten comedy skits? President Biden and VP Harris are asking us to mobilize and get people off their butts to get vaccinated people!

Yup. The best ideas sound simple in hindsight. The basic premise and structure of the sketch do a lot of the lifting. That is why a lot of improv. comedy training involves "games." Throw most competent improv or sketch comedians into it and it'll be funny. Competent as in: Friday and Saturday night regulars at major hubs, like NY/LA/Chicago.
Aidy and Kate cannot be put into sketches together 😂 they’re too powerful and always end up cracking each other up

Sketches like this and the Debbie Downer Disney world sketch are so hilarious because one person makes themselve and everyone else involved laugh. That's pure comedy gold at it's finest.

She almost lost it here at the end when Kate goes “Alright now this missed me a lil bit” you can see on her face shes holding back trying not to bust out laughing
