I would say Viper was somewhat right. His main point was definetely valid but he went really overboard by putting react content creators and sex offenders together, among other non sensical hyperboles. Like seriously Viper only needed to show data and that's it.

To paraphrase, one of the content thieves said in defence to criticism that he reached out to the original creator after the video was uploaded, and the original creator was ok with it. DVAU's line was something along the lines of "anyone who believes consent for something can be gained after the fact, is probably not someone you want to leave alone with your drink." Hyperbole? Yes. Does it perfectly illustrate his point? Also yes.

Everyone makes mistakes and I can see why they put him in a video. They though that dark vines was trying to "expose" react UA-camrs as being these certain types of people. Not sure why you added DarkViperAU, not only was he right and Charlie apologized, but Charlie stopped doing react content after he learned more. Seems a bit disingenuous (harhar) to have him in the thumbnail.
He was right about some points. I remember watching his first videos on the subject and you couldn’t have convinced him that he wasn’t Gods first totally right creation.
But, to give an example, Asmongold reacts and says “Go give this guy a subscribe,” and the person immediately is on the come up.
It does help smaller creators sometimes, so you can’t say “This only hurts small creators” like he postured in the early videos.
If you don’t believe me, go watch any creator begging Mr Beast for shout outs, watches, etc.

All the content creators who've fought against react content have agreed that yes, there is the TINY minority, a fraction of a percentage of people who do end up benefiting. But by the extreme vast majority, all it does is harm creators who had thousands of people watch their video, but only got a single view out of it.
So yes, it only hurts content creators because the extreme weight of value is weighted towards the react streamer, with barely droplets of attention going to the uploader who created the content in the first place. If you don't believe me, go watch the rest of DarkVipers videos on it, or JacksFilms, or Charlie himself once he realized the harm that react content does.

DarkViperAU touched a very difficult topic and provided genuine arguments, every single one of his argument hits. He was bound to be hated for it because even so many "good" content creators like moist engage in this practice and he pointed them all out despite the backlash he was about to receive. I do watch charlie's videos, he seems like a good person but even good people make mistakes all the time and even he admitted that. I have nothing against any of these creators personally and I rarely engage in discussions about internet drama or any drama but I feel like people are undermining dark viper's arguments constantly even after he convinced everyone he was right by saying things like "yea but he's so angry and mad and crazy" and bs like that.

I should point out that I do have separate reservations about the video, and I think that he misrepresented the events and conclusions described in it as well. However, none of those issues have any bearing on the actual thumbnail itself. My grievance about the thumbnail would have stood on its own regardless of the way that the situation was represented in the video proper.

that's just it though, the video covers that DarkViper did attack him and shows that in this case Charlie actually did come around to his viewpoint. it covers the whole thing. effectively he's the only one who actually won and that's why he showed up first.
after that was everyone else who ended up going downhill after attacking.
To be fair even at the time people agreed with DarkviperAU's actual points, it was just his unnecessarily inflammatory and irresponsible language, where he did very much actively compare react content with rape in a catastrophically stupid way that gave every two bit chancer an easy way to try to dismiss his points.
Agreeing with Matt but having to deal with him wording his points so horribly poorly was a huge issue at the time, luckily eventually he stopped trying to use shock words and just stuck to "react creators bad" which he was 100% in the right about, and which he's only gotten even more correct about considering the zero effort shit that xQc and Hasan do, or the even worse, negative effort garbage Jason Derulo produces.

Darkviperau was actually kind of right in that situation. And in general he’s a pretty entertaining guy I love his channel and I believe he’s good with Charlie now
he's on civil terms, but he still disagrees with charlie's react content and in general content charlie tends to make. he's made comments after their public disagreement stating as such. as long as charlie does any form of react content and in general continues the type of content charlie makes, viper will disagree and not really shy away from saying such. his issues isn't with charlie as a person but the content he makes.

In the DarkViper drama, I think that you didn't show how much better DarkViper's argument's were than Charlie's. He absolutely demolished him and Charlie's response was really really bad. 90% of it was just crying about the drink spiking comparison, he doubled down but then realized that his arguments are lacking any substance so he changed sides.
Charlie got humbled in an argument, he backtracked and everything is good now. DarkViper's clear win.

What I respect about Charlie is not only his way of thinking, being mostly logical, but also that he's willing to admit his failures and make changes to himself as a person and a creator when the time comes. Looked up to this guy since Freshman year of high school (2015) and I'm proud for him getting this far these days.
