With the new series that just came out, it made me think of this, so I searched to see if it was still on here, I'm glad it still is. I still love what you guys did to this day.
Purely constructive criticism: Hearing the same exact dialogue from the game was actually really weird for me and took me out of the film, not sure if it was the same for everyone else. This is still one of the best fan films for the Last of Us, I just think that different dialogue should have been used.
The setting was really good, and the actress that played Ellie did a good just except she didn't really sound like her. I'm not talking about her actual voice, I'm talking about how in the game Ellie kinda has an angry tone when they are in a situation where they have to fight. This Ellie sounds scared and worried. Overall, you did a really good job.
You both fitted the part so well, you both looked exactly like the characters! And I loved how you put in some of the lines from the actual game in their... It was amazing, this short movie deserves an award!

This is awesome! But coming from a critic stand point, some of the lines directly from the game seem very forced. The guy who's playing Joel is great, but the girl playing Ellie could be better. Not saying she's a bad actress, but it just feels like she's trying to hard and not natural enough like Joel. Either way I enjoyed this, good job on making a great fan film!
I completely agree also this is a nit-pick but I've played the game so many times that I noticed some of those lines directly from the game had slight wording mistakes its not a problem at all because I don't think most people would notice something so miner but you know just saying

I watch a lot of fan films, and this is DEFINITELY one of the best I've ever seen. The production values are amazing, and I love how both actors move and gesture just like Ellie and Joel. Amazing work, can't wait to see Part 2!

It's amazing how you got actors that looked exactly like them and they can actually act! I mean of course I can't compare it to the actual Last of Us because it's a game but this is amazing within itself, it'd be one thing if you were copying it off a tv series but the fact that it's a game makes it so much more impressive. And I really enjoyed the cinematography, i'm so showing this to my Film Studies class in college!
I'm so thankful my brother shared this movie with me. I loved everything about it. The suspense and the intensity of it all was awesome. The effects and everything were absolutely amazing. As an Indy filmer myself, I'm green with envy. Great job!

Have to say I can't ignore the issues with the Ellie character - the actress is just too old and the performance...it's fine. I think the main problem is the age, it offsets her look and her voice. We are meant to believe that these two could be father and daughter and that age gap looks pretty impossible in this version. That being said - holy shit, you found the perfect actor for Joel!

I've done low budget movies before as well and all things considered, you made definitely made the most out of a small budget. I appreciate how difficult it must have been to find someone to play Ellie and you are of course right - unless you are talking about a big production, getting actual kids on a dangerous set is a real problem (even when it is a big production it is no picnic.) Don't get me wrong, I didn't think the performance was bad - I think it is just the same issue that everyone feels who is in love with the source material (as it is with almost any adaptation of a beloved story.) We all have a lot of trouble letting go of the very particular aesthetic chosen by naughty dog to portray a particularly young looking girl as Ellie, which made a huge impact on most of the audience when we see her in unbelievably 'adult' situations. I imagine this was something that was considered by the production team and hence why you considered so many candidates. Anyway, I'm going to go check out the sequel immediately and, once again, you owned that role of Joel. Congratulations with the positive reception your films are getting - could there maybe be a crowd-funded project in the future as a result of all this?

Really loved this! This was awesome! SO MUCH DETAILS! But only if somethings could be kept in mind Like Ellie and Joel never make eye contact while talking unless they're talking about something very serious. Secondly Ellie never gets tensed or scared, which we could kinda make out here from her face. Ellie should be younger, though the actress here did an INCREDIBLE job. Hats off! And also chole grace moretz like a guy said , could be a more of ellie-looking or even Ellen Page. Also there should've been a gap between dialogues of Ellie. I can't help to explain, so we get on UA-cam and first off I'm a gamer and the last of us is the most amazing story mode game ever, back to the main thing, we get on UA-cam and venture into so many videos we start off with something we intended to watch and end up watching something Japanese person poke walls with pens, lol. Well I was wondering if I could get goosebumps, the chills, or that ASMR feeling. So I searched "a video that will give you goosebumps" lol nothing helped, but then I thought what could give me goosebumps instantly.. I said "listening to ezio's family song from assassins creed 2 will.. But what what will give me goosebumps over and over and over and immideatly. So I typed in the last of us, saw this film fan I've never watched, and ass soon as they started talking and the music from the game started playing I instantly got goosebumps. it was really good even though joel was younger and ellie was older it was still good you had it down from the game you mixed and matched a little and the make up for the runners and the clickers was awesome it was an awesome short film i just hope it was longer
9:00 I did not believe that scene. That was so forced. And the clicker is moving so fucking weird. And the combat is hard to believe as well. Its a great work but i think they wern't believing that they were joel and ellie and so we can't believe tey are.

The actors in this movie were really well cast (both in the way they look and sound). There were very few moments where I wasn't convinced they were Joel and Ellie.
This is the best Last of us live action movie I have ever seen...and I've seen a lot. This is amazing and I can't wait to watch other things you made. Sub!

Great jobs guys and gals! The locations are amazing, the acting direction is great, Joel's and Ellie's voices are also quite spot on! My only negative critique would be that: there's clearly some sort of budget put into this, no matter how small (not to mention the effort put in by everyone), so it wouldn't have been too hard to fork out 30 bucks to get a Ellie's shirt replica from redbubble or wherever and a poster print of Dawn of the Wolf (to put in the clip instead of Twilight).

HOLY SHIT. This is so fucking amazing, like, I can't even process how brilliant this is. The casting was great, the visual effects, the minor tweaks to the story, the camera work - everything! Wow. Just wow. A lot of fan films get a bad rap but this one is just fantastic. Fucking phenomenal. I'm just in awe right now at the effort and the detail and the sheer genius of this. I know it's probably not possible but I would LOVE to see a full live action fan film from start to finish, maybe with a little Left Behind thrown in there for good measure. what are you guys talkin about???? you guys are trippin! this is absolutely AMAZING!!! they look and sound exactly like the game. and they are like the perfect height ratio to each other like the game. when theyr'e being shot from far away, i feel like i'm actually looking at game footage!! this is 100 times better than any real hollywood studio can come up with. if a real hollywood studio made this, they would have fucked everything up. from the way the characters look to how they acted and sounded. i mean look at dragonball evolution and the new ninja turtles, wtf was that!!!????? In dragonball evolution, they didn't even make bulma's hair blue in the movie and they made her a fearless fighter and gunner??? WTF. Bulma's supposed to be a coward. Master Roshi was chow-yun fat and he's not even old, are you kidding me. Master Roshi is supposed to be an old perverted grandmaster grandpa with a bald head and long white beard not short black hair!!!! In the new TMNT, Megan Fox as April Oneil???? and they didnt even dye her hair red!!! that would've made her look so much more like the real april. smh. just like how indie games are gonna start taking over mainstream like minecraft, and the upcoming anticipated game No Man's Sky, i am sure indie movie studios will do the same. there seems to be more talent in amateurs nowadays. I can't help to explain, so we get on UA-cam and first off I'm a gamer and the last of us is the most amazing story mode game ever, back to the main thing, we get on UA-cam and venture into so many videos we start off with something we intended to watch and end up watching something Japanese person poke walls with pens, lol. Well I was wondering if I could get goosebumps, the chills, or that ASMR feeling. So I searched "a video that will give you goosebumps" lol nothing helped, but then I thought what could give me goosebumps instantly.. I said "listening to ezio's family song from assassins creed 2 will.. But what what will give me goosebumps over and over and over and immideatly. So I typed in the last of us, saw this film fan I've never watched, and ass soon as they started talking and the music from the game started playing I instantly got goosebumps. Lol GREAT VIDEO by the way guys, and shout out to naughty dog for TLOU part 2!!!

Amazing work! For a DIY fan film, this (and two sequels) totally nailed atmosphere and feel of game... probably a lot more than actual Hollywood version (if that ever happens) will probably do. Kudos!

Just ignore the negative ones, of course you guys aren't Joel or Ellie you aren't going to hit the jackpot on them but I can distinctively hear the roughness in your voice Joel had, and the young and learning yet still badass little girl from Ellie, but you're just as big of a fan as we are, hell bigger, you guys took the time to make a freaking video. it was really good even though joel was younger and ellie was older it was still good you had it down from the game you mixed and matched a little and the make up for the runners and the clickers was awesome it was an awesome short film i just hope it was longer

The actors in this movie were really well cast (both in the way they look and sound). There were very few moments where I wasn't convinced they were Joel and Ellie.

Great jobs guys and gals! The locations are amazing, the acting direction is great, Joel's and Ellie's voices are also quite spot on!
My only negative critique would be that: there's clearly some sort of budget put into this, no matter how small (not to mention the effort put in by everyone), so it wouldn't have been too hard to fork out 30 bucks to get a Ellie's shirt replica from redbubble or wherever and a poster print of Dawn of the Wolf (to put in the clip instead of Twilight).

HOLY SHIT. This is so fucking amazing, like, I can't even process how brilliant this is. The casting was great, the visual effects, the minor tweaks to the story, the camera work - everything! Wow. Just wow. A lot of fan films get a bad rap but this one is just fantastic. Fucking phenomenal. I'm just in awe right now at the effort and the detail and the sheer genius of this. I know it's probably not possible but I would LOVE to see a full live action fan film from start to finish, maybe with a little Left Behind thrown in there for good measure.
In short: You guys are freaking awesome.
