East Bay native and I drove and parked off of Doolittle Drive to get a gander and hear the crowd at the Coliseum during this game. I was there sometime in the 4th quarter I believe, and having been to countless hundreds of A's, Raiders, and Warriors games - I can honestly say this was maybe the loudest crowd in the history of the Coliseum. That's debatable, but it was right up there, and quite something to hear even from a distance of a bit less than a mile. Probably a mile away, and not even in the park, and I had goosebumps. Great, great upload, thanks for sharing.
I wish i had been at this game, but had moved to NYC the year before. Had season tickets in '80 and '81, and kept season tickets from '95 to '19. Thanks for posting this game, i would have flown back from NY had i known.
Odd choice to have the football field go vertical with the baseball diamond as opposed to the traditional horizontal. I'm guessing Davis wanted to maximize the revenue sales?
Not positive of the reason, but I'd think because it was still baseball season, they simply didn't want to do a reconfigure and pull out the extra grandstand they usually used. As a matter of fact, they simply might not have had this grandstand anymore. No doubt though, it looks odd.
I think that was just because Al Davis was being approached by Oakland to bring the team back from LA for a couple years or so around the time this game was played.

Odd the hear nameth emphasize LA Raiders, given that this was an event for the fans of Oakland. also oilers are now titans.
