2:55 I know it’s a pre viz shot but I can’t help but laugh at how slow the horses walk here “Hey man, looks like there’s a giant mumkial behind... meh whatever”
I Had a Dream one time About this of how they made this fight scene of the men on horses going against the enemies Rideing the elephants in war was Brutal it look so Real it was one the GREAT SCENES IN THE MOVIE 🎦
so how did they render? waht render did they use? what 3d software did they use to create collisions and crowd? + how did they composite so well that all shots blended in so well? for 2003 as well... wow.. just wow!!
They used Massive for most of the crowd sim, Maya for the animation/modelling, and Pixar Renderman for the rendering. Note that Renderman, while developed by Pixar, is not proprietary and Pixar themselves had no involvement in the film's production.
They use a bunch of different softwares to achieve that. Mostly they use Maya for the 3D creation, animation. Mari and substance painter for texturing. Weta Digital Studio also has they own custom crowd animation software to handle these big numbers of different 3D models in a scene
I think they had to balance which sound effects to include. There is so much going on with the music score too if you have too many sound effects it gets jumbled and overwhelming. I remember the foley guys talking about selecting out sounds in a different video.
it still boggles my mind how they matched the live action plates to make it work and blend it in seamlessly to the shot.
it should have required NASA-level science
The effects are better than some mcu movies
Than every*
They did the effects for some mcu movies as well. Like the final endgame battle was them
black panther CGI was extremely bad
@@gojonissan5567 that’s what happens when you rush your artists
The amount of work they went I to these shots boggles my mind

Yea lmao, like its an overtime job theyre kinda tired of and just wanna get it over with
I never seen that before the effects looks great
I like how they show us this because it was very hard to find which horse and person got whacked by the mumakil in the actual movie

Renderman absolutely IS proprietary, unfortunately.
This is sooooo good!

Thanks. I was searching how the stunts software was used.
so they first rendert it (lofi) and then they added parts of real shots. so almost the hole scene and concept was made by the vfx guys

Why do the elephants' feet make no sound?

the gpus used to render are still worth a nfortune
I thought they were Real. My childhood is ruined. 😢
