Well, yeah, obviously clearly. Web of Shadows was way more monotonous than Amazing Spiderman though, so I'll have to agree with the archetype nutshell reviews that are mentioned above, despite the implied sarcasm.
Everything is not repetitive.
I just finished it right now and I wonder why people say its repetitive.

This game was better
I'm sorry but I love this game. It has great skins, a decent story, I thought decent graphics (way better than The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game) and I love the loading screen. At least you can interact with things when loading in. And I love the suit damage and the music is pretty decent too. Also it not being a perfect game is fine since it’s not canon to The Amazing Spider-Man movie universe.

I actually enjoyed this game, but at the same time could realise that it wasn't great. I found it better than the Amazing Spider-Man 2 game, for some reason.

Rocksteady should make the next Spiderman game.
But RockSteady is owned by WB Games and Warner Bros. own all of DC licence property. While the Spider-Man video game licence is with Activision. Therefore, I doubt we'll ever see them make any Marvel licence characters.
WB makes LEGO MARVEL superheroes and The Avengers games. Anyways I trust Insomniac.

I loved the cross-species boss fights and to me it's an 8.5
The reviewer Greg admitted he hates marvel. But c'mon, the graphics weren't good?? The graphics look really awesome and I can say that this is the best graphical "SPIDERMAN" game to date.

i had a go at it and it felt awkward to websling for me, the camera felt to close and rigid-shaky
yeah, so spoiled, because all of us get what ever game we fuckin want, we are just being critical about a game. We're allowed to, if we dont like, we're entitled to express ourselves, same as for those who like the game. and this game was not enjoyable

what i hated was that there were a FINITE amount of side missions. it wasn't infinite like in spider-man 2. once i finished them all, there was literally nothing else to do except find those comic pages, almost no more action whatsoever
The visuals aren't always that bad to look at. In fact, the graphics are the most stunning during free roaming or when you step into some good lighting effects. Still though, I find they rushed the game a bit just to get it out along side the movie...something the Batman Arkham developers never had to be concerned about.
Because the Arkham games were never based on any movies so that's a horrible comparison that also doesn't really make sense.

I'd say this is my second favorite Spider-Man game, second only to web of shadows, and that only barely edges out due to it's replay value.
I don't get the complaint about graphics, the game look positively BEAUTIFUL, some of the best graphics I've seen in an open world game yet, and the spidey suit damage is a definite plus. The gameplay is the high point though, the fast paced movement and fluid controls plus the web rush makes for a game that makes one feel like

I havent played this game yet but it looks really amazing. I like the part when Spidey's suit gets torned out the battle and you can see his wounds bleeding, that's a certain element that you cant see in any Spider man games, its like thier trying to make an open world game based on Spidey, but with different elements like "God Of war 3".

I honestly thought this game had good Graphics and Boss weren't that hard but we're unique in their own way

In the summer Playstation said that PS4 will be able to play ps1,2,3 games but digitally so you may have to buy the games all over again :/, but still its better than having to switch from system to system

700 comic pages?? Sounds like it's time for some Riddler Challenges.
I really miss the slow-mo POV feature of this game (should note I haven't played PS4, but have TASM 1 & 2 and Ultimate), and I wish later installments would have furthered it. Being able to have a moment of clarity and figure out your next move or set up a great play (like Peter Parker could) was really satisfying to pull off. Plus POV web slinging was fantastic for as short as it was

Defiantly Spiderman web of shadows. I've beat it over 6 times and I never get bored.
I never played web of shadows but i'm going to check it out. My favorite is spiderman 2 on ps2. Swinging around the city in that game has been the best in my opinion so far.

The only flaw in ur theory of this game is the fighting sequence. I personally find it amazing

ikr! the graphics look great! I don't see how arkham city looks much better...in fact the environments in arkham look a lot more bland, and repetitive than here in my opinion. Just a bunch of grays and browns.

I played the vita version and I think that the graphics are fine, even though they're very low it's because that if you exceed it, it'll lag even more but I love the game on the vita.
That joke at the end was horrible

This is why I miss Graig, these days IGN reviews are more like the graphics look dated (even when they don't) the gameplay is repeatitive its crap. and Graig even when the game was not that good he also named reason why he still liked it anyway

Man, spider man 2 on the PS2/GAMECUBE/XBOX was amazing just like spidey, I didn't know that this one was like that, now I can't resist getting it.
When I was a kid this game was practically the first game I got that TRULY got me hooked into superhero games as a whole. I always remember how much trouble I had with even the beginning sections of the game, but now, it's easy. But not too easy. This game for me now, even though I've mastered it of sorts, it still proves to be a challenge, and I love this game for that aspect. Also, the story was incredible. I really enjoyed it overall and the game as a whole. :)

You guys think Beenox is ripping off Rocksteady, but all Rocksteady and Beenox are doing are sharing ideas. Rocksteady get's inspired by Beenox's Shattered Dimension's gameplay (Noir mostly) and Beenox is inspired by Rocksteady's fighting mechanics.
And HOW could Beenox rip-off the Arkham's series' stealth gameplay when Beenox BEGAN that type of stealth gameplay in the first place?

the best of the best Spider-Man 3 didn't invent visual prompts for countering. It's a pretty common thing in games.
Except the Batman arkham games are phenomenal, whilst this is... meh. And this is coming from someone who PREFERS Spider-Man to Batman.

ali shahzad Well free roam was the ENTIRE REASON I BOUGHT THE DAMN THING. Imagine my surprise when I bought the game at full price, expecting Spiderman Arkham City, but got Spiderman Arkham Asylum Bootleg backwash.

This game deserved a 9. The graphics were solid, so you might wanna stop bitching about your low-end PC.
Manhattan was cleverly constructed, adding stuff like petty crimes, and MY GOD IT LOOKS SOOO PRETTY AT NIGHT.
The boss fights were engaging and forced you to adapt and incorperate certain techniques based on your current situation, not to mention the well-made side missions to pass the time.
The combat was phenomenal, probably the best thing about the game, and cleverly forces you to look forward to upgrading your Spidey. It was also a great one to follow the Arkham formula. If only I could say the same for ASM2...
The replay value was great, and the levels were quite well-constructed, depending on the approch you are supposed to be taking towards the mission. I also loved how they had placed very well hid audio peices and magazines, encouraging you to fully scan the level to obtain unlockables.
The suits were great, making you dress to impress.
The only regret I had was that the story was a tad too short.

I'm thinking the dislikes are for what he had to say, people seem to like this one.
For me, the game's story is the true Amazing Spider-Man 2 Movie, which shows a unique story that ties in perfectly with the movie, including the Character Bios, Vermin creating took place during the amazing spider-mam movie final fight, Rhino was actually a Human, amd Scorpion has the Symbiote
I love how the story shows how overpowered he really is compared to the movie, The S-O3 fight truly opened my eyes on how Peter makes use of his powers
Amd the Connee story ending with the Farewell Peter Audio
if there was an ability to add the pages to your map...that would kind of make looking for them kind of pointless

+ModernDayGamer MDG XD I feel ya. I recently played it again on my Original Xbox and It was an amazing experience since I haven't played it since I was little. Still a great game, though.
To those who are late to the party, ignore this review. Greg Miller is wrong on most of his points. Environments are full of detail, cutscenes are well made and the fighting.... well the higher the combo the better the moves look. Also, he mentions the 700 comic book pages that when found, allow you to read the comics in their entirety via the main menu. He is wrong about the comic books showing up on your map. After you find the fist 500, which can be easily found at night, the remaining 200 appear as yellow dots on your mini map. This game is very good and is likely very inexpensive now so go get it and enjoy it!

I gotta give this game a 5/10. Reason why is: The web swinging was not very good. I didn't like the combat. But the voice acting and the graphics we're very well done.
+Super Gamer The TASM 2 game is better IMO because;
- Better, more realistic swinging
- More unique and varied combat
- I prefered the villains used in this one (especially because of Carnage)

I liked this game, but the sequel was terrible
I played a Demo for a PC SPiderman game back when I was a little kid. This was like 2000/2001ish. THis review reminds me of so much from that. Comic books around the city, scorpion and rhino making it in as bosses. Some Scenes looked familiar too, like ozcorp (you had to get a bomb from one room to another at the end of that mission in the Demo I played way back when)
How sharp can a visual be? Gameplay is more important in my opinion : Excite bot is better than this for example.
Any one watching in 2021?

But the time the games were released is different.
The TASM2 my be slightly superior in every way (reviewer opinion) but will get a lower grade because this game was released years after... the game titles and technology available at this moment are way more polished.
