Anyone else find it funny how IGN complains repeatedly in this review about the first person fist-fighting scenes being gone, when in their very own previous review of Shattered Dimensions they said it was a stupid idea that nobody would ever want? XP

@Raimi Forever I dont really see how web of shadows is better than spiderman ps4. I mean sure web shadows is one of the best spiderman games, but i still think spiderman ps4 is better

Shattered dimensions was my first spidey game on ps3 it's way better than the new marvels spiderman
@@christianhenry4173 nah. I played shattered dimensions on pc, amazing spiderman 2 on ps4, marvel spiderman ps4, edge of time ps3. marvel spiderman is clearly the better game, and shattered and edge of time both on 2nd place.story is great on edge of time, also music.
Do not be fooled, this is a great Spider-Man game, Shattered Dimensions and Web of Shadows are great too. Avoid Amazing Spider-Man 2 - that one is shit.

Great game for Marvel/Spiderman enthusiasts and was just as enjoyable as Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions
Both games were great to platinum also for you trophy/achievement hunters.
Nah fam. I'd give it a 5/10 at least, to me it's just a average game. And it definitely does not deserve a higher score from like 8 to 10.

Exellent combat, amazing plot twist, great relationship development between Miguel and Peter, emotional death scene (Peter), awesome parts where you have to save the others' life...
What more could you want?

Foxy The Pirate ok I admit, the storyline is cool. I just wish that this game (gameplay) would be more than opening doors, fighting enemies, and free falling. Yeah there are other objectives, but they're boring in my opinion.
I love how they have Christopher Barnes playing the voice. He is the voice of spider man imo.
Wow the fact the video has more dislikes than likes says it all. The game was great and the art style was really nice aswell especially the detail on the suits and the combat system was great. The gave a real look into the differences and similarities between Spider-Man 2099 and normal peter. I love Miguel so this game was a god send for me
how tf is it extremely repetitive I can understand that it gets a little boring sometimes but what about the chase scene with the dock ock venom thing and where you're running away from explosions and the boss fights were good except for the black cat one but the one against anti venom where you swich from peter to miguel was good whatever everybody has opinions (this guy probably has the shittiest opinion)

@Ironbat92 how do we know if its actually that bad or if its just the reviewers taste? since they used a different reviewer from shattered dimensions. Also I agree about the demo thing, but at least its best to watch many different reviews as well not just stick to ign or gamespot that have become the "pinnacle" of gaming opinions, and valued as the most important.
@IXxBossxXI a kid you mentioned. but as grown ups we love spiderman for who and what he stands for. spiderman fights bad guys, spiderman has really great agility, spiderman has a double life as peter parker who abandoned by his parents to leave him with his aunt and uncle and who issmart, shy, and anti social. he has powers of a spider and just learning how to use them well. he lost his uncle to a mugger. he fights for great power and great responsibility. he`s cunning.

I really liked the story of this game, and I honestly wouldn't mind seeing it become a movie, even if it's an animated direct-to-DVD release. But the gameplay was dull and repetitive, and removed everything that was good and interesting about Shattered Dimensions, leaving us with the bare minimum of what you could call a Spider-Man game. This is the prime example of what happens when you put more focus on story than gameplay.
I loved the story and game
The game may be a little repetitive but not as repetive as Friend or Foe where the formula never changes.

I thought it was awesome, I mean, I like Spiderman ps4 more of course, but this game, I give it an 8/10. Voice acting was on point. Of course it was repetitive, cuz u were in the exact same building the entire game. And tbh I thought antivenom wasn't that dull of a villain tho. (my opinion) but otherwise I liked it alot tho.
Vidmar Tyler the voice actors in this game in my opinion is better. Because it has josh Keaton and the original 1994 Spider-Man I don’t know his name.

To each its own, I enjoyed the first one very much, I like simple games and not over extensive games are meant to be fast and fun. Not long and grindy.

Why are they complaining that there's no POV in this game after they bashed it in their Shattered Dimensions review? Also, a little repetition is to be expected in this game because you're in the same building throughout the entire game.I'm not much of a fan of time travel stories, but this one was pretty cool, I'll give it that.Not to mention the sarcasm was really great in this game and I loved the final boss fight.

@mohammedrun - EOT has a better story with plot twists and tension. SD had none to speak of.
- EOT has better controls over webswing and attack strings. SD did not.
- EOT doesn't have pointless POV segments, like non-damaging punches to the face. SD abused that.
- EOT has longer and harder freefalling sections. SD did not.
- EOT has better challenges. SD just had a bunch of random stuff to do.
Both games are good though, just with 2 different formulas.

Definately, for me; what I like about it is the constant banter between the two spideys; I think that has to be a big + on top of shattered dimensions because the different dimensions never really communicated with each other. The other thing is that although it may be a tiny bit cliche; I love the time idea. And the use of Antivenom, it is always usually venom, but never antivenom. To be honest, I had just as much fun with this game as I did shattered dimensions.
Guess what! Edge of Time got 4.5 because it wasn't developed by Treyarch!

Oh, and btw, talking about repetitive gameplay-you gave COD: MW2 a frikin' 9.5, even though the gameplay in this franchise is the same ever since the first MW game, and the only thing they improve is the graphics. Also, all of the enemies are the same, no major changes nor twists. You are a bunch of hypocrites.

ok guys, while i do admit that spiderman needs a free roam game, but does swinging through new york always equal arkham city of games? no. it needs to have something else. brilliant voice actors, better graphics, length (20 or more hours), rogues galleries such as hydro man, mysterio, and the beetle, challenge mode, multiplayer, rpg, better gameplay and combat mechanics, better story, characters that made more sense, classic feel, character development and better detail.
I want an open spiderman game in new york, where you can swing from building to building, do quests. And fight good old villans like the lizzard, green goblin, scorpion ect . Just like spiderman 2 was!
Remember when Spider-Man games were open-world sandbox, and not shallow and linear beat-em-ups?

Critics has always been pretty negative towards Spider-Man games. Why, I don't quite undrstand. It's nearly impossible to make the ultimate Spier-Man game of all time. this is at least the best they could do.

The storyline is actually pretty interesting because of the quantum thingamobob. I can see the gameplay getting repetitive but cmon you gotta look at the setting to begin with. the boss fights might get boring but thats because they probably were affected by the same thing in the story
Here's a crazy thought: How about a Spider-man game with, you know, SPIDER-MAN, i.e., the Spider-man we all know and love, not all these "alternate reality" versions. No one was paying attention to how great Arkham Asylum was? No one could see how great an edgy, classic Spider-man game could be? With those awesome villains? Idiots.
see, if they made a spider-man game with a story concept as good as edge of time, and gameplay as good as shattered dimensions and possibly have free roaming too, then it would be the best spiderman game since spiderman 2 for the PS2

@TheJohnApocalypse and a plot, villians, excitement , better combat, longer length(lets say 25 or 30 hours), characters with some purposes, some levels from inside, wall crawling, and better missions.

I actually thought this game was fun. Not perfect of course but it was an okay game.
Ultimate already exists, although it's not with the symbiote, but we got Web of Shadows for that. Spider-Man Noir is unfortunately not that popular. In Shattered Dimensions he was to me and most people who played it the most awesome Spider-Man, but there's just 8 comics about him that don't give much freedom to the creators: not many villains to pick etc. etc. I would indeed love those games, but I don't think it's Beenox and Activision's intention to make games for each Spider-Man.
I wish they could go back to a open world game, like Spider Man 2 or Ultimate Spider Man. Give the franchise to Rocksteady, they'll know what to do!
@kalvort ive got it and i still think its a good game but the let down was that they didnt put much of a good story line in this game and i recommend this game to people who enjoy space/time sort of games and im not into that sort of stuff XD and i still really liked this game

@Ironbat92 I see your point, but at the same time its not good to just have an annoying reviewer that hates on everything, and is sarcastic about the good points of the game. This game is catered for spidey fans so they should have given it to someone that is a spidey fan. Not someone that isnt a fan of spidey and the like. Personally I think it looks ok, and its like a spiritual successor of shattered dimensions so there is no excuse for it to get so much lower.

That studio is owned by Warner Bros. and DC so I would be extremely surprised if somehow they decided to work with marvel...not only that but the reason that arkham asylum was so good was because EVERYONE in that team loved batman, and I dont think they have the same love towards spider man or any other super hero for that matter.

@NeosForme Spider Man Shattered Dimensions was reviewed by Hilary Goldstein, Spider Man Edge of Time was reviewed by Daniel Krupa, they are two completely different reviewers so that may explain why they are complaining about the first person fist fighting, because the guy in this review probably havent played Shattered Dimensions and never experienced the first person fist fighting! why cant anybody understand that different reviewers give different opinions?!

Would it be too much to ask for a Spidey game like Spider-Man 2? And by 'like Spider-Man 2', I mean one that has the exact same controls. Spider-Man 3 would have been much better if it had done this. Plus the challenges scattered all over the city.

@sonicdihedgehog1 not having a SPIDERMAN game without free roam is like taking away wolverines claws and healing factor and still calling him wolverine. spiderman is best know for his HIGH FLYING ACROBATICS across CITIES. wheres the fun in enjoying everything about spiderman in a game that doesnt allow that. web of shadows was the last spiderman game to do that best.
