i like how they don't only use glossier products like I expected in their routines. I thought it would kinda be like an ad type thing but I'm happy they use other products and stuff it's more organic
I've been using glossier for awhile & I used to have like really bad skin, I find that sometimes products with less in them aggravates your skin less as well? I've been able to use the makeup they sell too because my skin got better. Glossier to me focuses not just on LOOKING but actually BEING minimal & even though I'm not as confident in my skin yet I like how using less products makes my skin feel lighter too. Same with how sometimes changing your diet or eating less processed food helps too! While I do agree with some commenters that it would be nice to see people review whether or not it helps skins with more aggravated conditions or use people with problem skin for makeup, I feel like people with such skins wouldn't use glossier cause it doesn't suit the coverage they need & you can't make someone who wouldn't use it in real life so a video on it, like how these girls prob wouldn't use full foundation irl. That's my two cents anyway (: there's no one brand that'll cover everyone!

I get that their whole brand revolves around this "minimal makeup" philosophy, but they only show people with flawless skin using their products. Obviously I don't see glossier making acne coverage foundations or anything, but people with acne, hyperpigmentation and other skin issues are still beautiful. Also I've ordered products from them and very few of them are geared towards oily skin types (except the face mask). Sort of disappointing

alba roque I don't think their skincare line is anything special. It hasn't benefited my skin at all. The milky jelly looks like cetaphil to me, the balm dot com is basically expensive aquaphor. I own the primer and it doesn't prolong makeup or hydrate, it also irritates my skin. I haven't tried the makeup line or the masks.

The Skincare Addiction, Asian Beauty range has plenty of reviews on the products already. but not on the full phase 2 set yet since people are just getting to try it out.

One of my favourite routines. Obviously Cyndie is incredibly gorgeous, but she actually KNOWS how to take care of her skin. So many of these types of videos make me want to tear my hair out because the people in them don't know what they're doing. They would apply thick layers of oil and put watery serums on top or spray their faces. Cyndie applies her skincare in the right order and I like that she is using makeup to accentuate her features, instead of covering them up and doing that super-scary-overly-sculpted-with-bronzer look.
I've watched all of these and I'm amazed that no one uses any sunscreen. None of the Glossier products contain sunscreen so I would think these ladies would add it to their routine. ???
ddddd sunscreen is soooo necessary girl, the sun doesn't disappear when it's cold. There are a huge range on sunscreens out there which have good ingredients in them. Wearing an spf on your face daily is incredibly important if you want to maintain good skin. I can't believe people think sunscreen isn't important omg
ddddd sunscreen is so important! Even when it’s cloudy a LOT of UV rays still come through. It reflects on water and other surfaces so you need to protect your skin from sun damage and melanoma. The sun is the greatest cause for ageing
i feel like everyone complains about glossier not being for normal skin but honestly ive struggled with acne all my life and i love using glossier. it's more about enhancing your natural features and not covering them up

why dont you guys use people with real skin problems like acne,wrinkles,hyper pigmentation. To see if your products actually work? bc the people you guys show already have perfect skin so its obvious any makeup will work for them
I second your opinion! It's weird when a company like Glossier which relies so heavily on social media to sell, is severely lacking when it actually comes to portraying 'real' women (everyday women like you and I) in ads and campaigns. Trying to sell me a concealer or skin tint with a model who already has porcelain skin? No - just no. Even the YT people affiliated to the company cannot be trusted - just look at the reviews on MakeupAlley.
These feature industry people or staff at Into The Gloss so they probably have pretty normal skin, not serious problems. Glossier is a minimalist makeup brand to streamline makeup for the girl who doesn't want to wear a ton of product. Dermatologist grade products are more in line with anything like serious acne or hyperpigmentation. I work for Kiehl's and it just gets tiresome when you get done recommending things and the client goes "oh you wouldn't know, you all have perfect skin." No we don't. We break out and flake etc. but we follow a good routine, and if you're still having issues after adopting a good regimen a dermatologist is best to recommend appropriate products.
+Papier Flora This is a makeup artist who is friends with Emily Wiess. The other grwm vids are Cherie, the Administrative Coordinator at Glossier, and Emily herself, founder of Into The Gloss. Not models. Regular women, whatever that means. They're showing how they incorporate Glossier products into their morning routines, not "selling" you anything. It's the consumer's choice to try out products, and to decide whether they work for you.

I think what she meant by this comment is that they should use people who have some troubled skin in the videos just some minor inperfection on the skin like some discoloration or some zits to see how the product works on people who don't have flawless skin . Right now what i see is that these products are just for people with flawless skin and not many of us have flawless skin so it would be nice to see how the products work on other skin types.
I really don't think their stuff is marketed toward problematic skin at all... I have Normal/Combination skin and here's my feedback in case it helps: The Skin Tint is useless, even with good skin, it's way too sheer; I only use it when my skin is feeling dry and I need a bit of a dewy base, otherwise I don't wear foundation anyways. The Priming Moisturizer is whatever, won't be repurchasing 'cause Trader Joe's makes a cheap and cheerful one that makes my face very happy! The Face Mist is unremarkable really and they don't seem to be pushing it since the Milky Jelly Cleanser came out, which I only use to cleanse my eye area; I need a proper face wash to actually clean the rest of my face. The Balm Dot Com is overrated, but the Coconut version does smell delightful. The Mega Greens face mask is mega harsh on my skin and actually burnt my boyfriends face! The Moon Mask is really nice on the other hand, like a cooling jelly that really plumps the skin. Both the Boy Brow and Stretch...
I don't know why I torture myself watching these videos with girls with perfect skin - even if my acne miraculously cleared up, I still have major scarring and texture :( :( Good for them though, it's refreshing to see a lighter/ more natural approach to make up on UA-cam!
