I think the idle consumption is quite high for a CPU with a TCP of 6. I understand that you deliberately opted for an SPU and not a DC Jack. But wouldn't the savings potential be many times greater?

Keep in mind this also includes 2 7200rpm harddrives.

Could you please run cinebench r23 on in? Mine get 1300 points and hits 86 Celsius when it should be 2200. I think because of temps it throttles a lot and this values are without throttlestop. I'm wondering if that's normal or I should RMA (almost never reaches declared 3,4GHz).

I run a modified BIOS on mine with a higher power limit and a fan and I’ve seen it run at 3.4 more often. The stock power limit and passive cooling are inadequate for reaching the full potential.
I sadly cannot test cinebench as the system has been retired as a hypervisor and runs Linux now.

Hey man! Greetings from Latvia. Thank you for series! If I were you and be desperate for saving power i would go with proper intel system and migrate absolutely whole thing (from Gateway router, HV01, PVETest and PVE02 to ethernet port for switch) onto it. I know it sound unsafe and bit mental, but it works. 😆 Also there are perks like only bus speed be "limiting network factor" between vms. :) Anyways, I love your setup and how you test things! 👍 Iam thinking about building cpu render farm, that can idle on extremely low watts, but I don't know how I gonna build it. Single 14900k (8p/16e all of them highly clocked) is like 40k CB23, while theese things are like 3k CB23... in theory I would need ~14x100N's just to keep up... Any ideas/alternatives? Those 305 might be sweeter deal for my use case.

Great to hear you enjoyed the series!
Due to my main PC experiencing a motherboard failure, the PVETEST server has since been discontinued and sold off in parts (I stole the motherboard for my main system). The PVE02, which runs my storage array, is soon to be upgraded to flash only storage. Currently waiting on my last 8TB SSD to come in and I'll take out all spinning rust and selling that off. I don't intend to consolidate further, as the N100 is not powerful enough to handle that server's tasks as well. The upside is that system takes mATX motherboards.
Regarding your render farm, I'd pick a CPU that balances performance and powerdraw. Take a look at those obscure i7-11800H motherboards on Aliexpress. They're about half the price of a single 14900K CPU. They push 12K CB23 but, since they are laptop CPUs, idle close to 0.

      Hi,
the system was built into the Inter-Tech 1.5U-1528L. An 1.5U case that houses a FlexATX PSU, mini ITX motherboard and dual 3,5" drives via a sata backplane.

Hello, thanks for these 3 videos on the Asus Prime N100I-D D4, very helpful and to the point! By the way, have you made any tests with CrystalDiskMark on the 1TB Samsung 980 NVMe and if so what were the results for it since it is a PCIe 3.0 x4 module and the M.2 slot on this motherboard is x2 ?

The speeds are about what to expect with 3.0 x2. The interface maxes out at 2GB/s in any direction.

How do you use two HDDs? The mainboard only has one sata port

Why are you using Windows Server? Are you running a Domain or anything? What is this for? Are you running some kind of proprietary Windows software package, SQL server, etc? That is the interesting part!

I chose Windows Server because when I built the original version of this machine in 2021 there wasn’t any other OS that could properly pass through and utilise the Intel graphics for Plex transcoding and because my backup software only supports vmware and hyperv (synology activr backup) :)
