Got a new blued Colt Python and the sights were loose out of the factory and there was a couple of mars in the bluing on the cylinder. Outside of that, super pretty gun. I like just taking it out of its box and looking at it and dry firing it.

You right. I been wanting a python but really the king cobra is the more practical carry option
3 inch , trench rear site it the way to go. I don't like adjustable sites on a revolver. And it's what 400 bucks cheaper.. a grand it plenty for a carry revolver. Yep you convinced me.

Colt fixed the sight issue 100% I bought two pythons and an anaconda all solid as a rock

I carry my King Cobra quite often, I really like it. I did replace the brass bead front sight with a fiber optic sight from a Colt Cobra, Colt sells the sights through Brownells. Very happy with the gun, still want a 3” Python though.

In this sort of size and weight range, there's the Kimber K6S, the Ruger SP101 (5-shot only), S&W Model 66 Combat magnum, Rossi RP63, and Rock Island Armory AL3.1 (2-in barrel only).
Slightly wider cylinders can yield 7-shot in Ruger GP100 or S&W 686+ but you're looking at a few ounces more weight.

I have both. The king cobra is for carry and the Python is a safe queen.
