This game is AMAZING! I love just how goofy and alive the dogs feel, they were made as characters instead of props, plus Ashley Burch as the voiceover, and she absolutely nailed her character role! She also had a cast role in the Life is strange franchise, another game you should look up if you're interested in story heavy games!
I've been a dog handler for mushers for several years and this is great but omits so many things that can go wrong like tangled lines, dog fights, loose dogs, tipped sleds and frozen fingers, and also most mushers are far better prepared than this, and have real food for themselves and the dogs not just two peices of raw meat lol. Dogs are lined out at camp with lots of straw for beds, and the amount of snow you need to mush is far more than would allow a tent on the ground. I do appreciate its just a game lol but the real experience is very different. Another nitpick I have is most mushers have two leaders, not one.
To be fair, she's a city girl who randomly decided "I wanna be a musher" cause she had a midlife crisis. But like also, Chomper the leader likes to let the dogs loose alot, they can die sometimes from fighting, the sled can fall into the ice, she randomly talks about her musher friend Margot's missing fingers, ect. There's little like lore pieces when she's talking he just doesn't let her speak lmao and there's many more experiences depending on what dogs u pick

I live in Alaska and have been dog sledding. It is definitely a blast to do! One time the dogs turned left and I got thrown off the back of the sled. Fun time. If you only have one or two dogs you can do something similar on skis and have the dogs pull you. It is called skijoring.

(just got by the first 5-minute mark so let me answer that moose and bear question) Bears are extremely strong, and versatile, if it's a female it will only attack if you are near its young. While a male will only attack if its hungry, so the dogs may be a snack for the males. Mooses, on the other hand are extremely sturdy. If you have the choice between swerving into a ditch vs a moose when driving, a moose would be like a brick wall. So crashing the sled into a moose would be a worse impact, but not as dangerous.

It always bugs me when a game is like "if you dont eat in 24 hours you will immediately perish from starvation" like she could just not eat for the three days and give any food she gets to the dogs. Then worry about the much more pressing issue of water and shelter (though with fire, water wouldnt be an issue) i mean i know im not doing work like she is collecting material's and traveling but ive gone a week without eating
I had to stop watching early into the video because the game was just so beautiful and so I got it and now I have to play it. I have it saved in my watch later though and I will be returning!

That meat on the tree would still be reached by bears they can climb a tree. Usually, you would hang it in a way that makes hang away from the tree.
Wouldve been cool to be able to choose which dog goes where on the sled placement.
