I just got to act 3 with my level40 warrior. I bought the game because somebody told me, that the game is a mix of dark souls and hades. So far I haven't been disappointed.
Nice dude! I'm a first time PoE player going into 2 completely blind to it all, and still mostly avoiding streams and content to keep my experience genuine. I keep up with the Discord for announcements and patch updates, but that's about it. Like you, I've gone Warrior. I find it to be much like Grim Dawn but less gritty in aesthetic and interface. I'm thoroughly enjoying everything, sincerely every death moment too. Really honing in on shield + one-handed, generally pushing for something tanky/stunny/HP regen/life leech--again, I have a general idea of what the META might be for the classes (zoomzoomdeletetheentirescreenyay) but that's just not for me. Hoping they release swords or some other one-handed weapon to go along with the shield, too. Alright, hopping off my soapbox and into the game. Enjoy!
I've not played an ARPG since Baldurs Gate on PS2 or 3 ... Cannot remember which, but have always loved the genre as played original Diablo and D2 on my Paraffin-Powered-PC, waaaay back in the mid-90's. PoE 2 is Genre Defining! ... It's Magnificent.
Yeah beating campaign, then go play endgame over and over again till you get slightly better gear so u can go a tier higher in endgame. Its way better lol. All ARPG are same
I've realized that the most powerful minion summoning class in the game is Warrior with Titan ascension. It get a node that increases all small nodes by 50%, meaning those 10% minion damage bonuses are now 15%, and the 12%'s are 18%'s.
People have done the calcs, witch has a higher cap but titan is far less gear reliant and stronger earlier. It is funny that the best titan build rn is the exact same as the best infernalist build rn tho lmao
Without gear Titan is great, with gear Infernalist is going to beat out Titan (you have spirit, and hellhound you can attach free supports to that basically mimic the loss of damage you'd get from 50% small passives increases, not to mention the 20% damage transfer)
Finally, someone that realises there is no such thing as "witch gear" or "warrior gear". Or "i'm playing a warrior" doesn't mean you have to play with a 2h mace. Classes are just starting positions and ascendancy nodes, that's literally it.
if you have the gold to spend its worth it to always buy the items in the shop with the rune slot just to scrap them to get the shards to add runes to your gear
if there were more crafting from poe1, then there would be whining again "too complicated and incomprehensible". I think beginners will get used to such primitive mechanics, and then gradually 1 type of craft will appear. What a surprise awaits those who are waiting for the release, because there the complexity will be like in poe1
@@staskozak8118i hope that doesnt happen. the game is complex enough but easy to understand (for the most part. some things like corrupting skillgems is never mentioned) maybe if they make it very simple it would be nice but id hate to see this game bloat to poe1 levels of "i have no idea whats going on". i love the game rn.
With this early access we have 3 chapters done, which felt like one of the longest campaigns ever, and will still have another 3 campaigns to go. Not to mention the myriad of extra endgame stuff which im sure will be a lot to come too. For a game thats only really half done its pretty damn good.
Tip - GGG have already added instant teleport between checkpoints in maps. A lot of people think its coming in a later patch. Just discover checkpoints within a map and then when next to a checkpoint click on it and it will show the current map with all the checkpoints you can teleport to. Helps big time if you take a wrong turn.
The warrior is just exploding large packs of mobs left and right for me. Leap Slam into a group w/Holy Descent, creates lots of stun targets and a heal area. Followed by Boneshatter w/Devastate+Armour Explosion, and also Life Thief for extra health. All you do is leap into a pack of mobs, explode the pack, jump into another pack, etc... Plenty of fun to be honest.
Granted I’m low level atm like 28 or so. I’m doing molten blast/perfect strike warrior and it feels really fucking good. Have had no issues clearing campaign/first trial
I started as a warrior. Hit a wall at the final boss of act 2. Found some good witch fear. Rerolled as a witch. Hit the same wall. However, the gear I found while playing as a witch upgraded my Warrior enough to continue as my warrior. (Including exalts for trade upgrades) I am now in Cruel act 2 as my warrior and it feels way easier.
I don't know what's wrong with people like you, why reroll if you just wanted to play warrior? Reassess your build, grind for some gear on levels you can reasonably clear That's part of the fun
@BREAKocean I think if you're looking for a more chill old school arpg it's Diablo 2 or grim dawn. I feel like the exploration in path of exile 2 is just really boring. Just dead end after dead end. The gameplay feels good and is better then other arpgs. But grim dawn has way better multiclassing and exploration. I think the boss design in path of exile 2 is pretty good to. I don't think its peak, but it's definetly not a bad game. I think if they took the exploration from grim dawn and the loot from Diablo 2 itd be peak. People are in the honeymoon phase with the game and don't like criticism but if a game is to get better it needs criticism.
That's kind of the problem with this game. If you do specific builds, the stat requirements PAINT YOU INTO A CORNER. I'm level 65, and haven't gotten an upgrade since level 45. And, I've used all my exalted orbs TRYING to make upgrades. Sure, at level 45 I was one shotting bosses. Now, however, my character is insanely weak.
@@cateatfood6634absolutely this. It may be garbage 9/10 times but most of my best gear I bought off a vendor, sometimes rares that have little crafting left to do.
@cateatfood6634 level 60, and haven't found gear better than what I got that are like level 30 or so, I had no choice but to use the trading sites to trade for good gear in exchange of my exalted orbs
First time playing POE and I feel like I don't really know what I'm doing but I'm already level 14 and am loving it. First Arpg as well, game is goated
The "Wither on hit" is amazing if you're playinf a chaos Witch. You are not using contagion, essence drain, dark effigy, or any chaos related attacks at all so that would be pointless for your build. I play a Chaos/Minion witch and i went with the previous passive "8% of minion damage is converted to chaos damage" and i use the support gem to add wither on chaos hit and it works amazing for my build. Yours though Asmongold it would do nothing.
@@jackvancekirkland that's actually a smart support for that skill. I'm leaning more towards chaos damage but I wanted my minions to hold up a little in the end game and their damage output so with the passive to make all minions deal some chaos damage and the withering touch on my archers with faster attack speed support all of my minions deal extra damage the more wither that is applied along with my spells. I believe that I have execute (+40%dmg vs low life) and persistence (+40%skill duration) on my dark effigy. I didn't like that I had to cast the cast the effigy more than once in a fight with only a 8-10 second duration. Also I tried the zombies with the ritual combo and kept testing back and forth between them and unearth but any time I walked 20 yards away my zombies would be so slow they'd despawn off screen and I'd have to summon another horde of them along with the ritual again and again to get a charge for each one. It became exhausting and I found more success in 1-2 waves of unearth to summon a horde of scorpion minions to which I added the self destruct support on them and the extra life support to make them have more life which means more damage from their self destruct. That over the zombies saved me a lot of time in between mobs as I didn't have to spend so much time getting charges and summoning more zombies individually which really made my play style alot quicker and more fun to me while still having the same if not a lot more damage output with the unearth easily spreading my contagion a lot quicker in fights for my chaos build along with the AOE of their self destruct. I may test out your method of withering touch on my effigy but my archers seem to max out enemy's wither fairly quick. Just my take on my build.
@@themuffinman5755 Sounds good. The zombies are definitely slow, I don't necessarily go into every fight with them because like you said they often fail to keep up or last between fights. I'm spamming profane ritual as mobs die anyway so it's more like building up the charged zombies in sustained fights or against tough rares etc. I have my persistence on contagion to maximize spread. I also have as much + skill duration on my passive tree as I can get. I went blood mage for the permanent curse node. I use impending doom and decaying hex on despair, also hexblast. I'm thinking of adding frost mages, putting frost damage on the zombies, and using the support that makes chaos damage add to freeze buildup. Also temporal chains but I don't have it yet. I have just always loved DOT-based builds in many games and it's feeling good finding ways to make it effective.
@@jackvancekirkland persistence on contagion sounds great actually. I have magnified effect (+40% AOE so it spreads to anyone even close) and Unleash on my contagion. Unleash makes it so it gets casts 2-3 times per use so it infects multiple mobs per cast so I can be sure that my essence drain hits someone with it and my minions are guaranteed to kill a mob that's infected. I also use decaying hex on my despair but my other support is expanse (+50% AOE but +6 second cool down because I don't use it unless necessary) I actually had a hard time picking an ascendency as I feel the unreleased 1 for witch will be the minion version. All the other passives in the 2 ascendencys didn't look like they'd help a chaos/minion build and at level 22-24 I didn't use enfeeble much and didn't have despair so I must've overlooked that node for blood mage as that sounds great now but sadly I went infernalist and went with the hell hound. I still have my archers which combo with the hell hound blowing up their gas arrows which do decent damage but as I get stronger I feel my multiple chaos dot's are starting to do more damage. Which support are you talking about that turns chaos damage to freeze build up? I'm only level 40 am I not there yet?
@themuffinman5755 yeah I had magnified effect on contagion for a while but I decided the difference wasn't very noticeable to me. I think I have it on profane ritual now, or despair, or hexblast.. I honestly forget. Blood mage clearly needs a lot of work because the central node is such a huge debuff. But thematically I liked it the best even if it doesn't have much synergy with chaos beyond that one curse node. It would be nice if the 3rd ascendancy was chaos! Chaotic Freezing or something similar. It's a level 3 support. It makes Chaos hits against a target afflicted by supported DOT count towards freeze so I think contagion would be the way to go. Could be really strong combo with giving minions cold damage and the node that also turns a % of their damage to chaos... Seems like that would build freeze very fast. I have swift affliction on essence drain. Also envenom with corrosion on chaos bolt. Bossing is definitely my biggest struggle because I don't have access to corpses. Level 55. I wonder if there are tools in the unreleased skills and supports that will help with corpses/power charges during boss fights or if they intentionally balance boss fights around not being able to use those.
After about 30 levels I recently replaced my crossbow. It came from that orb that turns a normal item to a rare with 4 modifiers and I got crit damage, base physical damage, lightening damage, and one other good one I forgot exactly. But I couldn't believe the luck. Now I just need to get Iron runes in it and some additional modifiers and I'm golden.
Merc combos don’t feel worth it lol… I just shotgun bosses to death. Combos are too slow. Occasionally I do gas grenade to break armor and high velocity but… that’s just because gas grenade is fire and forget. Armor piercing rounds is too slow… you lose dps if feels swapping between two things and reloading all the time. Prolly why people play grenadier. Again I can just circle around the boss and rapid shotgun and melt the boss though. So any fire and forget + a primary fire. The specific combo stuff feels weak is what I mean. I haven’t tried rapid fire combos yet though. Detonator combos are slow but probably fine with grenades. Slow with the electric stakes.
They buffed shield skills, it's hilarious to charge bash into bosses and each charge chunks like 10% of their hp if you got the beefiest armor only shield. And it scales off melee % dmg, the CHOO-CHOO build now is my main damage build lol.
it's kind of annoying and also boring to watch someone sit there and play probably the easiest build in the game currently, then sit there and kill a boss in 3 seconds and then pretend to complain that there should be more boss fights or that you like boss fights. I mean he's probably never learned a single boss mechanic but acts like he's good at the game. I made a build similar and got too bored to keep playing it past act 3. I probably also died less than he did somehow.
Relax man. Not everyone plays games the same way. If something like that annoys you, maybe just find another video to watch instead of taking the time to complain about it. Life would he less stressful.
i dont get where is the satisfaction of copying a streamer meta build. you did none of the work you are just on autopilot. im on t8 maps with my glass merc galvanic shards build that i came up with having only some previous experience from POE 1. its been really fun. way more fun than i thought thinking about stuff and trying if it works and then it actually does. that's like 80% of the fun. the loot only boosts what you made
@delayeedbms yea I've been doing my own monk thing. Haven't looked up anything don't even know if half my passives work with my build lol. I have the damage but I'm glass canon and I have friends that are following builds and they melt and a friend who's playing like me. To each their own and play how you want.
When you find, craft or trade for a new upgrade you really feel it straight away. I'm tired of dunking on D4 but I think it's fair to say that it's a feeling that was alarmingly missing from that game with their level scaling system.
@tswart007 I think it gives u between 0.8 and 1.2 of either a increase or decrease of any random stat. So it might increase or decrease a stat or apparently it rerolls a stat sometimes too
It wasnt the latest patch for me lol, have had crashes since the beginning. If youre playing on windows11 24h2, limit the cpu usage of poe with arround 10% less. This windows version is so full of data stealing bloat, it crashes if youre playing cpu heavy games
Is there a list of the possible mods for each type of gear? As a new player, I'm always concerned to apply augmentation orbs on itens that can not have the mods I'm looking for.
Buy a staff... lol everytime you go home check for a staff with a good stat like physical damage and just upgrade it. If you are 45 you should have saved plenty of gold/items.
I have 6 characters in maps now, and by far the strongest and fastest leveling I've had is with Monk, literally killed bosses in 1-2 seconds all way through campaign.
What level and what you need to do to change your classes every character you got to choice 2 different classes ? you have to click something on the passive skills ?
HArdware issue buddy. I have a very low-mid pc an can run it fine on wqhd without any freezes and no dynamic resolution. If i turn on dynamic resolution all probelms are gone. And i only have a radeon rx590 :'D
Probably ping spikes. There is an issue for some players, same for me, very annoying bug and it's seems comes from poe1, didn't play it a lot. Only way to fix ping is respawn if you doing campaign, you can check ping graph pressing F1 two times. If it spiky restart zone.
GGG will never fix performance. For the last 2 years they have destroyed PoE1s performance because of engine changes to bring PoE1 in line for PoE2. Back then they wanted to turn PoE1 into PoE2. These changes fked up the games performance. They also made it so the game uses more PC resources but in reality it just doubled the GPU / CPU usage (in towns), but also halved the FPS for some reason (uncapped ~220 fps down to 95). Ever since Kalandra League the game has become extremly worse. Exploding 3 white packs with RF in Blood Aqueducts results in worse FPS drops than playing juiced red maps with old conqueror influence, which was know for causing performance problems. The shader-pre-caching (green bar) causes huge performance drops and no matter how much you play the green bar will still pop up. Towns have become Lava, the performance in them is a nightmare. The game can't handle other players and effects anymore, especially wth MTX. We see that again with PoE2 especially in Act2 town. I get like 35-40 frames there and remind you that most MTX is still not in PoE2. Good luck with expecting GGG to fix things when the only thing they have done in PoE1 is make the game unplayable. I have a GTX 1070 and i7 6700-K. I could play PoE1 with capped frames at 100 with no dipps. In endgame it might dip to 80 fps in somecases and this was without resolution upscaling and frame generation. Now i have fps drops down to 40-50 when i explode 3 white packs in Blood Aqueducts... Ever since Kalandra league i have done a couple of acts, logged into my RF character and shield-charge through Blood Aqueducts and see how the performance is. Every time it's awful and i stop because i don't want to know how bad it now is when doing fully juiced content... That's also the reason i have barely played PoE2 so far. I can only imagine how bad it will get later on when you explode entire screens. I don't need to imagine it i already see it in alot of streams and these people have monster PCs. Seeing dips down to 50 fps even on those systems...
Chaos orbs are totally useless now. Youll never chaos an item with 1 or 2 good mods for the chance to be worth it, and you definitely wont chaos an item with 1 bad mod at 20% chance
By the time I hit 70 ive found a few good cases for using chaos orbs. Sometimes i end up with gear that is soo close to being better than my current but need one stat difference so ill take the chance on bricking the item. That being said, ive bricked 4/4 great items trying to do so. Doesnt matter much when what im wearing is already marginally better tho.
@@JD59555 well sure if you use enough eventually you'll score a win. The problem is the chances of it being useful to use far under weight the value of just using it as trading currency on the website. I'm sure some crafters will use them but most will just be traded to bots for exalts or alchs. Or gear. It's just such a small chance rng orb, they used to be good when they fully rerolled a rare item.
@@dominiksafranek853 I know certain omens will make it so a chaos orb will only affect a prefix or a suffix, but those will be a higher investment craft with still a 33% chance of a good outcome... less then that really, 33% chance you roll off the right stat, you have to roll a good stat after that so it's really like a 5%
Love these videos, playing POE while i'm at work so it's quite casual. Trying out a monk right now and it's quite fun, gets the time going at least. Do you have a page with your witch build?
In PoE you can trade 5 of the same base item to a vendor to get a reroll. (5 rare gold amulets would yield a single unidentified rare gold amulet). Reforging bench is the same thing but only requires 3.
what do you mean? Just get a blue one, modify it and upgrade it to a rare, add an ex orb. I know what you are saying, but I am literally always getting new gear.
That's unlucky in terms of sheer drops, sure, but you could have had upgrades many times times over through vendors and crafting and the game expects you to interact with those mechanics.
If you ever have equipment that has a modifier that says you’ll find more loot with rarity wear it or keep it in your inventory you’ll find better loot
@@djukafox I do agree that crafting does remedy this somewhat, but the sheer lack of crafting currency makes it quite difficult to craft in the first place.
Ive been having the most fun playing 3 classes at once. I have them all at Act 2/3Cruel, but its made finding gear more enjoyable. If I'm not finding anything good for my Ranger, I swap back to catch up my Sorc and *BAM* a huge Crossbow upgrade dropped!
He is literally brain dead. Within the first 3 minutes of the video he just stands there, doesn't move around ground affects (poison, fire, etc) He says, "I just take so much damage." while he just stands in one spot or walks up to mobs hitting him.
I just got PoE2 largely due to your hype but also because I've never quite found a game to fill the void left by D2. So far so good! Jumped right in and am having a blast. Probably a ton of stuff I don't understand yet but doesn't seem as complex as I worried about. Highly recommend giving it a shot if your an old school D2 fan.
i have 100 hours in the game and i dint get any good item at all the only one good item i got was from act 1 from the trader it was a wand with speel and chaos dmg .. i dont like the fact that after 100 hours you dont get even one good peac of item its ridiculouse the game is about grinding the currency so you basically can buy youreslf trough the game and i have to say i dont find that funn ... i would rather find a useful item once in a while than buy myself trough the game
Complete opposite from me. I the have 3 stash's full of gear that has +50% or more. Course most of that gear ain't for my class, but I've been hoarding. The gear I'm currently wearing is crafted. Though what people consider "good" is subjective
This is my favorite ARPG I have ever played, and this isn't even the final product. I can't wait to see what each league brings and how it evolves. GGG really knocked it out of the park with this one.
i mean whats the deal, the endgame is practicaly non existent, game starts great, slow paced, but like from second or third act of normal u basically start killing everything easily, endgame is just maping again and again, gear is pretty random and boring, in the end u just killing whole screen and 1 shoting bosses same like in d4..whats so possitive about the game? ARPG genre has some serious problems and devs just dont know how to make endgame meaningful..
Thats the problem with all those people like Asmon. They should borrow a 80+ character and see what true endgame looks like. Just spend 1 hour on trade, buy MID gear for cheap, and you start rushing maps and oneshotting bosses. If a unique or rare boss lives for more than 5 seconds I have failed. The game is only "souls like" if you're under geared or lack skill
Using reforge bench from the start is huge for making you stronger. It’s like finding 1/3 more items. I use mainly on weapons so I always have the highest tier weapons equipped. Also good with other slots
I'm playing Witch Hunter right now and will prolly make a Necro during live as a first character just so I have a farmer and then build my Witch hunter later
Same, I love the ascendency's design. I was playing rapid shot dakadaka through the campaign but it started falling off hard in tier 4 maps, just respecced to galvanic + shockburst with herald of thunder and it feels so damn strong now.
Free to play should be the new standard for (most) games. It's the only monetization strategy that makes insane money for developers while also not scamming their audience. It implies the developers have a level of confidence in their product.
Don't you find it boring playing like that, you're basically just steering your character... You've lost the point of playing games.. to have a challenge..
I have limited time for my games, so I'll refrain from playing any ARPGs without free respecs... Especially in a game like PoE, with hundreds if not thousands of builds. I love to theorycraft in such games, but not being able to freely respec and experiment is just a baffling design choice. I really wish more players pushed for free (not cheap! FREE) respecs, maybe then the devs would implement them...
Just don't make so many mistakes then. Respec is not designed for you to go respec your entire tree, it's for backing out of node clusters every now and then. The game still expects you to make informed choices based on your tree progression and it's really not that hard to wing it as you go.
I think that's what the leagues are for. You basically get a full respec every 13 weeks. But yes, free respecs like in borderlands games would be cool, but i can also see why they don't add it to the game though.

Playing my first character ( 2h warrior) the clear and AOE is actually pretty massive. You can proc enemies to explode overkill damage on death and ignite everything, then boost your ignite and they burn away in seconds
@kOoSyak Yeah I don't pay for free to play games. Cash grab or aka early access is the same exact thing these days and I don't care how good the game is. Free to play is free to play. These games with their stupid I can't respec bullshit is bad anyway.
I was playing in October. One of my best friends made me check it out, same month I met my future wife. I didn't play PoE1 much because life got busy. Now over a decade later I'm a gamer dad and PoE2 is perfect. Life is good.
The campaign, even unfinished, blew me away with what we do have. I did feel some of the same gripes others did, like back tracking and map size, but this is a good first edition! To help with back tracking they did add inter-map teleporting between checkpoints, such a quality of life change when full clearing maps for the first time!
I think a lot of the problems with melee is lack of abilities / ascensions. I wanted to make a DoT / chaos on my witch but the ascendencies would not help that build at all and it was struggling (no issue living just low dps). So I made a new witch and went into a pepega half chaos dot half minion build and while its not as efficient as the meta build its super fun to play for me. In act 3 normal, but cannot wait until I get the ability that lets me eat my own minions for profane ritual then use the charges to summon a horde of empowered zombies
Do you have to set the number of flaming skulls that come out?I cannot get my flaming skulls to spawn. I throw the firewall down. I tried shooting through the firewall.Nothing I do Gets them to appear on screen and attack
@melooneater4929 thank you .. I have it over on the left side menu. And I even added a buffer to it. But there's no plus or minus to add minions/ how many. I'll look at it again when I get home tonight . I'm sure it's one. Little stupid thing that I didn't click
The craziest thing for me about POE2 is that I’m almost through the second run through of the campaign on my monk. And I still get to play it through at least another 11 times (with the new classes included). And that’s without taking into consideration the ascendancies.
Resistances for Nekro Minions are crucial, I used to die too till I got all my resistances to about 70% or higher, of course I had to spend around 20-30ex, but it really changes your gameplay, also you need the passives that make MOM work, like all the energy as Mana, and all the Mana regeneration you can, I have like 100Mana/sec and I never run out of it, not even when being attacked.
I’ve been enjoying galvanic mercenary a ton. Melts pack and bosses and I love the look of lighting in this game. We’ll see how it feels on higher tier maps
Dont know about the gameplay but it looks like POE2 is the best looking game of this type in the whole universe. Every little bit of ui looks awesome. Even aliens came to America just to have better bandwith to play POE2 better.

I hope they tweak the item drops a tiny bit more and make more skills viable. I have the feeling no matter the class, lightning is always the strongest or something that goes big boom. On that note, they need to optimize the mercs grenade effects. It kills my Steam Deck when playing without streaming from PC when the bombs go off. If my base fps is 40-50 I get like 20 or worse when they go off
Bro my merc build is so good. Doing an int cross using contagion and withering presense with my poison nades applying armor reduct/plague explosion and spread with contagions 300 percent explosion and spread. Crossboe shot can consume the broken armor stacks on elites/bosses and increased stagger with stun nade. What a class.
I started playing my Warrior yesterday and it wasn't that bad. I expected worse. Just about to finish Act 2 on it now. It certainly helps knowing mechanics though.
I never played POE, but after watching POE 2 launch I jumped in 1, and like why have I never played this.. For a top down game the graphics are very nice, exploring and destroying is a great time, and the building of your character is extensive and fun.. I don't need 2 yet... I'll be in 1 for a bit. It gets a pretty high rating on my list
I've been loving my Stormweaver build. Constant Crit. Running with a single scepter w/ the focus that gives +% per 10 spirit. Knocking on almost 300 spirit and roughly 300% increased spell damage from that alone
Played POE2 for the first time ever 5 days ago and hadn't played POE ever and it might just be the most addicting game i've ever played. Feels like there is 0 downtime and constant action and the dopamine is on another level. This game will ruin ur life and I love it. Currently lvl 79 working my way up on maps

I think my issue is the speed and the feeling of boredness during maps. Few friends quit and could be cause of POE 1. Hope to see more and more changes that can provide more and return players who aren't satisfied.

I just got to act 3 with my level40 warrior. I bought the game because somebody told me, that the game is a mix of dark souls and hades. So far I haven't been disappointed.

Nice dude! I'm a first time PoE player going into 2 completely blind to it all, and still mostly avoiding streams and content to keep my experience genuine. I keep up with the Discord for announcements and patch updates, but that's about it. Like you, I've gone Warrior. I find it to be much like Grim Dawn but less gritty in aesthetic and interface. I'm thoroughly enjoying everything, sincerely every death moment too. Really honing in on shield + one-handed, generally pushing for something tanky/stunny/HP regen/life leech--again, I have a general idea of what the META might be for the classes (zoomzoomdeletetheentirescreenyay) but that's just not for me. Hoping they release swords or some other one-handed weapon to go along with the shield, too. Alright, hopping off my soapbox and into the game. Enjoy!

I've realized that the most powerful minion summoning class in the game is Warrior with Titan ascension. It get a node that increases all small nodes by 50%, meaning those 10% minion damage bonuses are now 15%, and the 12%'s are 18%'s.
People have done the calcs, witch has a higher cap but titan is far less gear reliant and stronger earlier. It is funny that the best titan build rn is the exact same as the best infernalist build rn tho lmao
Without gear Titan is great, with gear Infernalist is going to beat out Titan (you have spirit, and hellhound you can attach free supports to that basically mimic the loss of damage you'd get from 50% small passives increases, not to mention the 20% damage transfer)

With this early access we have 3 chapters done, which felt like one of the longest campaigns ever, and will still have another 3 campaigns to go. Not to mention the myriad of extra endgame stuff which im sure will be a lot to come too. For a game thats only really half done its pretty damn good.
Tip - GGG have already added instant teleport between checkpoints in maps. A lot of people think its coming in a later patch. Just discover checkpoints within a map and then when next to a checkpoint click on it and it will show the current map with all the checkpoints you can teleport to. Helps big time if you take a wrong turn.
The warrior is just exploding large packs of mobs left and right for me. Leap Slam into a group w/Holy Descent, creates lots of stun targets and a heal area. Followed by Boneshatter w/Devastate+Armour Explosion, and also Life Thief for extra health. All you do is leap into a pack of mobs, explode the pack, jump into another pack, etc... Plenty of fun to be honest.
Try upheaval sunder and thunder infused hammer of the gods. Because Thor lol.

I started as a warrior. Hit a wall at the final boss of act 2. Found some good witch fear. Rerolled as a witch. Hit the same wall. However, the gear I found while playing as a witch upgraded my Warrior enough to continue as my warrior. (Including exalts for trade upgrades) I am now in Cruel act 2 as my warrior and it feels way easier.

@BREAKocean I think if you're looking for a more chill old school arpg it's Diablo 2 or grim dawn. I feel like the exploration in path of exile 2 is just really boring. Just dead end after dead end. The gameplay feels good and is better then other arpgs. But grim dawn has way better multiclassing and exploration. I think the boss design in path of exile 2 is pretty good to. I don't think its peak, but it's definetly not a bad game. I think if they took the exploration from grim dawn and the loot from Diablo 2 itd be peak. People are in the honeymoon phase with the game and don't like criticism but if a game is to get better it needs criticism.

I'm level 65, and haven't gotten an upgrade since level 45. And, I've used all my exalted orbs TRYING to make upgrades.
Sure, at level 45 I was one shotting bosses. Now, however, my character is insanely weak.
Check vendors, every time you level up the vendor loot refreshes. Sometime you will notice great finds.

The "Wither on hit" is amazing if you're playinf a chaos Witch. You are not using contagion, essence drain, dark effigy, or any chaos related attacks at all so that would be pointless for your build. I play a Chaos/Minion witch and i went with the previous passive "8% of minion damage is converted to chaos damage" and i use the support gem to add wither on chaos hit and it works amazing for my build. Yours though Asmongold it would do nothing.
I am also doing a chaos build. I use zombies with power charges from profane ritual, they are quite strong. I have withering touch on my dark effigy.
@@jackvancekirkland that's actually a smart support for that skill. I'm leaning more towards chaos damage but I wanted my minions to hold up a little in the end game and their damage output so with the passive to make all minions deal some chaos damage and the withering touch on my archers with faster attack speed support all of my minions deal extra damage the more wither that is applied along with my spells. I believe that I have execute (+40%dmg vs low life) and persistence (+40%skill duration) on my dark effigy. I didn't like that I had to cast the cast the effigy more than once in a fight with only a 8-10 second duration.
Also I tried the zombies with the ritual combo and kept testing back and forth between them and unearth but any time I walked 20 yards away my zombies would be so slow they'd despawn off screen and I'd have to summon another horde of them along with the ritual again and again to get a charge for each one. It became exhausting and I found more success in 1-2 waves of unearth to summon a horde of scorpion minions to which I added the self destruct support on them and the extra life support to make them have more life which means more damage from their self destruct.
That over the zombies saved me a lot of time in between mobs as I didn't have to spend so much time getting charges and summoning more zombies individually which really made my play style alot quicker and more fun to me while still having the same if not a lot more damage output with the unearth easily spreading my contagion a lot quicker in fights for my chaos build along with the AOE of their self destruct. I may test out your method of withering touch on my effigy but my archers seem to max out enemy's wither fairly quick. Just my take on my build.
@@themuffinman5755 Sounds good. The zombies are definitely slow, I don't necessarily go into every fight with them because like you said they often fail to keep up or last between fights. I'm spamming profane ritual as mobs die anyway so it's more like building up the charged zombies in sustained fights or against tough rares etc. I have my persistence on contagion to maximize spread. I also have as much + skill duration on my passive tree as I can get. I went blood mage for the permanent curse node. I use impending doom and decaying hex on despair, also hexblast.
I'm thinking of adding frost mages, putting frost damage on the zombies, and using the support that makes chaos damage add to freeze buildup. Also temporal chains but I don't have it yet. I have just always loved DOT-based builds in many games and it's feeling good finding ways to make it effective.
@@jackvancekirkland persistence on contagion sounds great actually. I have magnified effect (+40% AOE so it spreads to anyone even close) and Unleash on my contagion. Unleash makes it so it gets casts 2-3 times per use so it infects multiple mobs per cast so I can be sure that my essence drain hits someone with it and my minions are guaranteed to kill a mob that's infected. I also use decaying hex on my despair but my other support is expanse (+50% AOE but +6 second cool down because I don't use it unless necessary)
I actually had a hard time picking an ascendency as I feel the unreleased 1 for witch will be the minion version. All the other passives in the 2 ascendencys didn't look like they'd help a chaos/minion build and at level 22-24 I didn't use enfeeble much and didn't have despair so I must've overlooked that node for blood mage as that sounds great now but sadly I went infernalist and went with the hell hound. I still have my archers which combo with the hell hound blowing up their gas arrows which do decent damage but as I get stronger I feel my multiple chaos dot's are starting to do more damage.
Which support are you talking about that turns chaos damage to freeze build up? I'm only level 40 am I not there yet?

Blood mage clearly needs a lot of work because the central node is such a huge debuff. But thematically I liked it the best even if it doesn't have much synergy with chaos beyond that one curse node. It would be nice if the 3rd ascendancy was chaos!
Chaotic Freezing or something similar. It's a level 3 support. It makes Chaos hits against a target afflicted by supported DOT count towards freeze so I think contagion would be the way to go. Could be really strong combo with giving minions cold damage and the node that also turns a % of their damage to chaos... Seems like that would build freeze very fast. I have swift affliction on essence drain. Also envenom with corrosion on chaos bolt. Bossing is definitely my biggest struggle because I don't have access to corpses. Level 55. I wonder if there are tools in the unreleased skills and supports that will help with corpses/power charges during boss fights or if they intentionally balance boss fights around not being able to use those.
I'm level 60 now with ranger, probably wont start another character until full release.... Really want to delve into the endgame

After about 30 levels I recently replaced my crossbow. It came from that orb that turns a normal item to a rare with 4 modifiers and I got crit damage, base physical damage, lightening damage, and one other good one I forgot exactly. But I couldn't believe the luck. Now I just need to get Iron runes in it and some additional modifiers and I'm golden.
Merc combos don’t feel worth it lol… I just shotgun bosses to death. Combos are too slow. Occasionally I do gas grenade to break armor and high velocity but… that’s just because gas grenade is fire and forget. Armor piercing rounds is too slow… you lose dps if feels swapping between two things and reloading all the time.
Prolly why people play grenadier. Again I can just circle around the boss and rapid shotgun and melt the boss though.
So any fire and forget + a primary fire. The specific combo stuff feels weak is what I mean. I haven’t tried rapid fire combos yet though. Detonator combos are slow but probably fine with grenades. Slow with the electric stakes.
They buffed shield skills, it's hilarious to charge bash into bosses and each charge chunks like 10% of their hp if you got the beefiest armor only shield.
And it scales off melee % dmg, the CHOO-CHOO build now is my main damage build lol.

You probably won't see this but you really need to add BLINK to your build because your movement speed is brutal
it's kind of annoying and also boring to watch someone sit there and play probably the easiest build in the game currently, then sit there and kill a boss in 3 seconds and then pretend to complain that there should be more boss fights or that you like boss fights. I mean he's probably never learned a single boss mechanic but acts like he's good at the game. I made a build similar and got too bored to keep playing it past act 3. I probably also died less than he did somehow.
Relax man. Not everyone plays games the same way. If something like that annoys you, maybe just find another video to watch instead of taking the time to complain about it. Life would he less stressful.

i dont get where is the satisfaction of copying a streamer meta build. you did none of the work you are just on autopilot. im on t8 maps with my glass merc galvanic shards build that i came up with having only some previous experience from POE 1. its been really fun. way more fun than i thought thinking about stuff and trying if it works and then it actually does. that's like 80% of the fun. the loot only boosts what you made

I have the damage but I'm glass canon and I have friends that are following builds and they melt and a friend who's playing like me. To each their own and play how you want.

Yeah I never even passed level 50 or so in D4. The endgame was TRASH and the builds barely scaled into it.

When you find, craft or trade for a new upgrade you really feel it straight away. I'm tired of dunking on D4 but I think it's fair to say that it's a feeling that was alarmingly missing from that game with their level scaling system.
I just vaaled an amazing ring and lost my +10 all res 😂 it feels equally bad to ruin something. I'm never vaaling again. Its not worth it

It wasnt the latest patch for me lol, have had crashes since the beginning. If youre playing on windows11 24h2, limit the cpu usage of poe with arround 10% less. This windows version is so full of data stealing bloat, it crashes if youre playing cpu heavy games

Is there a list of the possible mods for each type of gear? As a new player, I'm always concerned to apply augmentation orbs on itens that can not have the mods I'm looking for.

Probably ping spikes. There is an issue for some players, same for me, very annoying bug and it's seems comes from poe1, didn't play it a lot. Only way to fix ping is respawn if you doing campaign, you can check ping graph pressing F1 two times. If it spiky restart zone.
GGG will never fix performance. For the last 2 years they have destroyed PoE1s performance because of engine changes to bring PoE1 in line for PoE2.
Back then they wanted to turn PoE1 into PoE2. These changes fked up the games performance. They also made it so the game uses more PC resources but in reality it just doubled the GPU / CPU usage (in towns), but also halved the FPS for some reason (uncapped ~220 fps down to 95).
Ever since Kalandra League the game has become extremly worse. Exploding 3 white packs with RF in Blood Aqueducts results in worse FPS drops than playing juiced red maps with old conqueror influence, which was know for causing performance problems. The shader-pre-caching (green bar) causes huge performance drops and no matter how much you play the green bar will still pop up. Towns have become Lava, the performance in them is a nightmare. The game can't handle other players and effects anymore, especially wth MTX. We see that again with PoE2 especially in Act2 town. I get like 35-40 frames there and remind you that most MTX is still not in PoE2.
Good luck with expecting GGG to fix things when the only thing they have done in PoE1 is make the game unplayable.
I have a GTX 1070 and i7 6700-K. I could play PoE1 with capped frames at 100 with no dipps. In endgame it might dip to 80 fps in somecases and this was without resolution upscaling and frame generation. Now i have fps drops down to 40-50 when i explode 3 white packs in Blood Aqueducts... Ever since Kalandra league i have done a couple of acts, logged into my RF character and shield-charge through Blood Aqueducts and see how the performance is. Every time it's awful and i stop because i don't want to know how bad it now is when doing fully juiced content... That's also the reason i have barely played PoE2 so far. I can only imagine how bad it will get later on when you explode entire screens. I don't need to imagine it i already see it in alot of streams and these people have monster PCs. Seeing dips down to 50 fps even on those systems...
Chaos orbs are totally useless now. Youll never chaos an item with 1 or 2 good mods for the chance to be worth it, and you definitely wont chaos an item with 1 bad mod at 20% chance
By the time I hit 70 ive found a few good cases for using chaos orbs. Sometimes i end up with gear that is soo close to being better than my current but need one stat difference so ill take the chance on bricking the item. That being said, ive bricked 4/4 great items trying to do so. Doesnt matter much when what im wearing is already marginally better tho.
Chaos orb should let you choose which stat to replace

The problem is the chances of it being useful to use far under weight the value of just using it as trading currency on the website. I'm sure some crafters will use them but most will just be traded to bots for exalts or alchs. Or gear. It's just such a small chance rng orb, they used to be good when they fully rerolled a rare item.
@@dominiksafranek853 I know certain omens will make it so a chaos orb will only affect a prefix or a suffix, but those will be a higher investment craft with still a 33% chance of a good outcome... less then that really, 33% chance you roll off the right stat, you have to roll a good stat after that so it's really like a 5%

In PoE you can trade 5 of the same base item to a vendor to get a reroll. (5 rare gold amulets would yield a single unidentified rare gold amulet). Reforging bench is the same thing but only requires 3.
How? On the bench you get some scraps to improve your armor a bit

Upgrading equipment is an extremely rare occurrence on poe2. I'm still using my lvl5 gloves at lvl48 because nothing better has dropped.

No way...Check Vendors and craft. Many skip vendors but really good upgrades from there
That's unlucky in terms of sheer drops, sure, but you could have had upgrades many times times over through vendors and crafting and the game expects you to interact with those mechanics.
If you ever have equipment that has a modifier that says you’ll find more loot with rarity wear it or keep it in your inventory you’ll find better loot

Ive been having the most fun playing 3 classes at once. I have them all at Act 2/3Cruel, but its made finding gear more enjoyable. If I'm not finding anything good for my Ranger, I swap back to catch up my Sorc and *BAM* a huge Crossbow upgrade dropped!

He is literally brain dead. Within the first 3 minutes of the video he just stands there, doesn't move around ground affects (poison, fire, etc)
He says, "I just take so much damage." while he just stands in one spot or walks up to mobs hitting him.
I just got PoE2 largely due to your hype but also because I've never quite found a game to fill the void left by D2. So far so good! Jumped right in and am having a blast. Probably a ton of stuff I don't understand yet but doesn't seem as complex as I worried about. Highly recommend giving it a shot if your an old school D2 fan.
i have 100 hours in the game and i dint get any good item at all the only one good item i got was from act 1 from the trader it was a wand with speel and chaos dmg .. i dont like the fact that after 100 hours you dont get even one good peac of item its ridiculouse the game is about grinding the currency so you basically can buy youreslf trough the game and i have to say i dont find that funn ... i would rather find a useful item once in a while than buy myself trough the game

Complete opposite from me. I the have 3 stash's full of gear that has +50% or more. Course most of that gear ain't for my class, but I've been hoarding. The gear I'm currently wearing is crafted. Though what people consider "good" is subjective

This is my favorite ARPG I have ever played, and this isn't even the final product. I can't wait to see what each league brings and how it evolves. GGG really knocked it out of the park with this one.
i mean whats the deal, the endgame is practicaly non existent, game starts great, slow paced, but like from second or third act of normal u basically start killing everything easily, endgame is just maping again and again, gear is pretty random and boring, in the end u just killing whole screen and 1 shoting bosses same like in d4..whats so possitive about the game?
ARPG genre has some serious problems and devs just dont know how to make endgame meaningful..
Thats the problem with all those people like Asmon. They should borrow a 80+ character and see what true endgame looks like. Just spend 1 hour on trade, buy MID gear for cheap, and you start rushing maps and oneshotting bosses. If a unique or rare boss lives for more than 5 seconds I have failed. The game is only "souls like" if you're under geared or lack skill

Using reforge bench from the start is huge for making you stronger. It’s like finding 1/3 more items. I use mainly on weapons so I always have the highest tier weapons equipped. Also good with other slots

Same, I love the ascendency's design. I was playing rapid shot dakadaka through the campaign but it started falling off hard in tier 4 maps, just respecced to galvanic + shockburst with herald of thunder and it feels so damn strong now.
Free to play should be the new standard for (most) games. It's the only monetization strategy that makes insane money for developers while also not scamming their audience.
It implies the developers have a level of confidence in their product.

I have limited time for my games, so I'll refrain from playing any ARPGs without free respecs... Especially in a game like PoE, with hundreds if not thousands of builds. I love to theorycraft in such games, but not being able to freely respec and experiment is just a baffling design choice. I really wish more players pushed for free (not cheap! FREE) respecs, maybe then the devs would implement them...
Just don't make so many mistakes then. Respec is not designed for you to go respec your entire tree, it's for backing out of node clusters every now and then. The game still expects you to make informed choices based on your tree progression and it's really not that hard to wing it as you go.
I think that's what the leagues are for. You basically get a full respec every 13 weeks. But yes, free respecs like in borderlands games would be cool, but i can also see why they don't add it to the game though.

Playing my first character ( 2h warrior) the clear and AOE is actually pretty massive. You can proc enemies to explode overkill damage on death and ignite everything, then boost your ignite and they burn away in seconds
D4 is better till Poe is fully launched not gonna play it

POE1 was released Oct 2013 - I started in December 2013
I was playing in October. One of my best friends made me check it out, same month I met my future wife. I didn't play PoE1 much because life got busy. Now over a decade later I'm a gamer dad and PoE2 is perfect. Life is good.

The campaign, even unfinished, blew me away with what we do have. I did feel some of the same gripes others did, like back tracking and map size, but this is a good first edition! To help with back tracking they did add inter-map teleporting between checkpoints, such a quality of life change when full clearing maps for the first time!

I think a lot of the problems with melee is lack of abilities / ascensions. I wanted to make a DoT / chaos on my witch but the ascendencies would not help that build at all and it was struggling (no issue living just low dps). So I made a new witch and went into a pepega half chaos dot half minion build and while its not as efficient as the meta build its super fun to play for me. In act 3 normal, but cannot wait until I get the ability that lets me eat my own minions for profane ritual then use the charges to summon a horde of empowered zombies
Do you have to set the number of flaming skulls that come out?I cannot get my flaming skulls to spawn. I throw the firewall down.

Make sure you have the Raging Spirit Spirit gem, not the regular skill gem. After that, you have to activate in setting the minion count menu

But there's no plus or minus to add minions/ how many. I'll look at it again when I get home tonight . I'm sure it's one.

The craziest thing for me about POE2 is that I’m almost through the second run through of the campaign on my monk. And I still get to play it through at least another 11 times (with the new classes included). And that’s without taking into consideration the ascendancies.
Resistances for Nekro Minions are crucial, I used to die too till I got all my resistances to about 70% or higher, of course I had to spend around 20-30ex, but it really changes your gameplay, also you need the passives that make MOM work, like all the energy as Mana, and all the Mana regeneration you can, I have like 100Mana/sec and I never run out of it, not even when being attacked.
I’ve been enjoying galvanic mercenary a ton. Melts pack and bosses and I love the look of lighting in this game. We’ll see how it feels on higher tier maps
The boss he starts at about 27:05 is quite literally the best boss in the game, in every single aspect.

Even aliens came to America just to have better bandwith to play POE2 better.

Omg, POE2 just feels so good in terms of art style. It brings such a nostalgic vibe.
I hope they tweak the item drops a tiny bit more and make more skills viable. I have the feeling no matter the class, lightning is always the strongest or something that goes big boom.
On that note, they need to optimize the mercs grenade effects. It kills my Steam Deck when playing without streaming from PC when the bombs go off. If my base fps is 40-50 I get like 20 or worse when they go off

Doing an int cross using contagion and withering presense with my poison nades applying armor reduct/plague explosion and spread with contagions 300 percent explosion and spread.
Crossboe shot can consume the broken armor stacks on elites/bosses and increased stagger with stun nade. What a class.
I started playing my Warrior yesterday and it wasn't that bad. I expected worse. Just about to finish Act 2 on it now. It certainly helps knowing mechanics though.

I play a minion build as well but I have a hard time looting shit because my cursor wants to highlight corpses... Anyone found a fix for that yet?
I never played POE, but after watching POE 2 launch I jumped in 1, and like why have I never played this.. For a top down game the graphics are very nice, exploring and destroying is a great time, and the building of your character is extensive and fun.. I don't need 2 yet... I'll be in 1 for a bit. It gets a pretty high rating on my list

I've been loving my Stormweaver build. Constant Crit. Running with a single scepter w/ the focus that gives +% per 10 spirit. Knocking on almost 300 spirit and roughly 300% increased spell damage from that alone
sadly without +skill from main/off hand weapon you lose too much dps to make up for it. Skill scale insanely later on.
Played POE2 for the first time ever 5 days ago and hadn't played POE ever and it might just be the most addicting game i've ever played. Feels like there is 0 downtime and constant action and the dopamine is on another level. This game will ruin ur life and I love it. Currently lvl 79 working my way up on maps

I think my issue is the speed and the feeling of boredness during maps. Few friends quit and could be cause of POE 1. Hope to see more and more changes that can provide more and return players who aren't satisfied.
If you dont have it should run grimfeast for energy shield orbs makes you alot tankier it also lets you overfill your energy shield by 2x
