I got tired of waiting on my husband to put up the drywall. I found this video and put up 5 sheets of drywall, alone before my husband got home. Very easy to understand.
fantastic, way to go, Robin!
Hey if he said he was gonna do it, he’s gonna do it, there’s no need to pester him about it every 6 months! 😉😄 (Seriously though, good for you getting your independence on!)
Looks like you have a wife not a husband.
Lol
Did you make him dinner too and tell him you hired someone else and then use the money for the pro for new shoes? ;)
Good Golly. You explain things so patiently and clearly. Inspiring confidence.
Can you come to my house and help me remodel my bathroom?
I want to knock down walls and tackle plumbing.
You should have your own tv show.
I just got a job today hanging drywall with a buddy of mine, i was really worried that when i start tomorrow i wasnt going to be up to speed with the rest of the crew, but dude this video just boosted my confidence tremendously, i feel that if im asked questions tomorrow ill have a better answere than "i dont know".thanks for the videos leah.
Good luck on the job!
1 year later... how did everything go?
@@mattwohler7916 Well, I can tell you that on day 1 he probably wasn't doing ANY of this. The term for guys on day 1 is "screw bitch", because all you do is run a screw gun to screw off the sheets the journeyman is cutting.

I’m dyslexic and I really appreciate how often you stress directionality and sides, etc. 🤗 and drywall t’s are a must!
Leah Leah Leah!!!! That was by far the most clear, unassuming explanation of drywall hanging ever! Most excellent! Liked and subscribed!
+Donal Romano thank you, Donal, glad you liked it!
YOU are a good teacher! Thank you.
Thank you for this tutorial! My husband and I appreciate it. With your help and simple instructions, we are able to do this correctly.
Thank you so much, Leah! Your videos (and a few others like them) empowered me to start my own home improvement project. I'm happy to report that my first project is done! I turned a totally unused space behind closed walls into an open half-closet in my little old cape house. We had almost no closet space before this, so it's a huge improvement. I got some help from my husband in hanging the new drywall (two people make it a little easier).
Now we're working together on creating closets in two other similar spaces.
I had never done anything like this before, and it was such a thrill to realize that even if I don't have the money to hire somebody to help improve my house, I can make some improvements on my own.
I love your teaching style and your expertise. Thank you thank you thank you for taking the time to teach the world these skills.
+Kate C That is fantastic, Kate! Way to go!! I appreciate you sharing your success, and I'm glad to be of help!
Leah, your tutorials are great for beginners, my suggestion is that you should title them as such. I have watched over 30 videos on drywall install/taping just to watch the technique of pros, but they don't explain the detailed steps that beginners need, like you do. (I have dry walled several times before, but am far from a pro)
People who have done drywall know how to cut dry wall or stagger joints, but beginners usually don't. If your title included for 'beginners', maybe it would be easier to find for that group of people, because this is the first time I found your videos and like I said I've watch many.....
Also at the big box stores, you can buy a drywall screw tip that sets the screw in a dimple, for a few bucks, so its easier to screw without puncturing the paper.
Keep up the good work!
It’s crazy how helpful your videos are. Thank you for taking the time to share your tips and techniques with us!
This is probably the easiest to understand video for DIYers for cutting and hanging drywall. Thank you for making this!
I love how you explain things so easy to understand. Definitely gives me a little more confidence to do these type of jobs.
really great instructional video. very well done and easy to understand. thank you. great job!
CZeroMedia You're welcome, and thank you for commenting! :)
Tip # 2 Place your blade IN the mark you made, then slide the "T-Square" to the blade…now you know you're accurate.
I absolutely LOVE how you enforce your important points by pointing to the camera!!!!! I found my instructor for life!!!
Mike Regan Wow, that's very nice of you to say that...thanks! :)
I haven't built anything in my entire life, but I will use these ideas when I finally do. Great job being direct, well spoken and thorough.
+Steven Francis thanks, Steven!
The way you explain, it makes it really easy, top of that tips, tool, and very clear video.
Thank you for helpful video.
Thank you for you comment!
Thank you renovating my garage and decided to do it myself.
Leah I hung a homemade outside door with your help and can't thank you enough. I really thought this hateful job would be difficult and it went right up no trouble at all.
I just bought my house today(!) and this is my first DIY video I watched b/c I have -NO- home improvement experience but this video makes doing house stuff super easy, now I'm stoked to go put up some real walls in my garage.
You taught me more than a Journeyman would. You explained everything so well. Thank you.
Fantastic Leah! Thank you for this wonderfully succinct and masterfully executed How To video. You didn't waste a word or gesture! You've given me the confidence I need. Thanks! Very much appreciated!
you're very welcome, and thanks!
Halfway done, started Friday. Watched your video again just to make sure I had it. Once again, thank you! I'm Canadian, so I'm either sorry or thanking someone.
Highly Recommend this video if your a beginner! Very simply explained from what to purchase, how to cut and hang it. I did my little project and it came out great! Thanks for taking the time to explain it all Jane!
+Errol Chance You're very welcome, Errol!
I really enjoy all of your videos . You have helped me become better at what I do .
God bless !
Excellent video and narrating, thanks seejane.
I am definitely going to do this myself now :) thank you so much
I'm fixing up my in-laws house and I have worked in construction for a good portion of my life but by using your techniques I have improved my drywall cuts ten fold thank you so much you are amazing
+MrSkinnyTie Thank you! I'm glad it was helpful!
This is my first time leaving a message for anyone within UA-cam. Just want to say that you are very thorough and I will be watching more of your how to videos. THANK YOU!!

seejanedrill Thank you! I went out and bought a drywall T today and will attempt hanging the drywall thanks to your vid!
Excellent presentation Leah!
:)
You're amazing! What an incredible teacher! My dad never taught me anything about this stuff and I look to you for these things.
this how to video is soooo perfect. its broken down to an elementary level which is great for people that have no clue whats going on. great job!
NIFTYDRIFTYPROD Thanks, Nifty, I'm glad you liked it! :)
You should teach Algebra - so thorough!

Why would 219 people give a thumbs down? She is informative, pleasant and nice enough to make this video. I appreciate it. Thank you!
I'm hanging drywall. This is my first time. I knew there was a trick to snapping it, though wasn't sure what it was. Your "how to" video on the matter was the first to pop up on You-tube. No need to watch any others. Thank You Very Much.
you're very welcome, Rickey! Glad you found us...welcome to the channel!
20+ different videos and you are the first to make it clear the front of the drywall. The rest of the videos may use the front, but assume the viewer knows this rule already. News Flash, we don't. Thank you very much for establishing this.
Personally, your videos are the most helpful because you have a natural talent to teach. Your videos are very informative and very pleasant. You take the time to teach the audience and you make it easy for anyone to follow. Thank you for your videos. They're all great!
+Louis Flores You're welcome, Louis, and thanks very much for your kind comments!
I am very glad I found your video! Just yesterday my husband and I hung a couple sheets of drywall in our kitchen...we are in the process of remodeling our entire living space (kitchen, dining and living). We couldn't stagger for what we put in yesterday and it won't matter because the cabinets will be covering most as will backsplash.
I have to say that just from my experience yesterday with working with drywall I was ready to give up on doing anymore....but after seeing this video I see some techniques that we can implement to make it easier. You have given me a new outlook on this project! Thanks Leah!
***** That's great, Cindy, I'm glad I was able to provide some tips that were helpful to you. Sounds like you have a big project going, I wish you good luck with it! :)
Just taped my drywall....first time ever and because of your help I believe I did well :-)
I am looking to "redo" some closets in my homes that were not insulated when constructed. Due to a small budget, I would like to the work on my own. I just wanted to say thank you for this video! I feel much more confident!
One and only person I am subscribed to for home repairs. Awesome video, shows all steps in detail, volume is perfect, and always has my answers I'm looking for. Thank you a billion
I appreciated you showing how to put the screw in to the proper depth. I just bought a brand-new house, and there are drywall poppers EVERYWHERE, so I needed to see how to properly screw in a drywall screw!! Thank you!!
Best how-to video I've seen in a long while. Professional, informative, and clear.
TheMCRstudios Thanks! :)
Great video. Grew up with my dad doing this, and you sound a lot like him. Like a pro. Enjoyed the video and since it’s been quite a while it caught me back up before this new project. Thank you and God Bless.
your videos make it so much easier for a beginner to do the job right the first tie and all the little hints made me feel like a pro.
fantastic! 👍
I appreciate your teaching technic. The hows & whys really make it easier to learn than just watching someone show how it's done.
I have been wanting to finish a spare room that I started a few years back but got scared when it came to actually putting the drywall back up. After watching your videos I am ready to tackle it. wish I had found your videos sooner. They are clear, easy to follow, and informative. You need your own show.
Thanks, and good luck with your project!
Thank you Leah, what a wonderful tutorial. After watching this I feel more confident in assisting my husband in hanging the drywall in our basement. I think I'll watch all of your videos! 😊😎
You're welcome, Andrea. I wish you and your husband the best with your drywalling project!
I have never done any drywall before, but I have to tackle some soon. I will be using your videos. These are the most informative I have seen. Not everyone's a professional! Thanks so much for posting!
Lorne Hemmerling You're welcome and thank you, Lorne!! I appreciate your comments. :)
Hey! It worked! I have never in my life cut and hang sheet rock before until today. Came across your video because I didn't have a clue how to do it right. Thank you! Keep up the good work!
you're welcome, glad to be of help!
I love when it gets to the end and I think to myself "But what if I need to make a cut in the center of the dry wall" and then I hear "and sometimes you have to make..."
Leah is the best
Leah, I have watched a number of your videos and I have learned something or a number of things from each one. I especially like your drywall videos. You have answered many questions that will now force me to get busy on my own drywall project---- or rather finish a project that has been stalled for many months.
Ronald, Glad to help and good luck on your project.
I just took on a drywall job and needed to brush up on my basic drywall skills and found this video. Thank you for these awesome tips, now my cuts will be much more cleaner and less stagger joints!
Thank you so much. I was kindof worried about doing the drywall in my house but you made it look like a breeze
Thank you Leah! You give me confidence to try these things by explaining them in an approachable sort of way.
She is great!!! She should have her own DIY show. We would watch for sure.
Thank you Leah,. I watched at least five+, how to videos, you are the best nice simple and easy to follow.
WOW....you made getting this soooo easy! Thank you...and such a great voice as well.
You're the best. We're putting our nursery together, and this makes things look a lot easier.
thank you, and good luck with your nursery!
Leah! You are a great teacher! A lot of folks have skill, but not everybody can explain it to others in a gifted way, I am working on a project, was having a few issues with cuts, I don't do it everyday, and was this close to calling someone else in. I learned so much in 9 mins and 23 secs. Superb. - Ken
+Miracle Worx thank you so much, Ken!
You are an amazing instructor. Direct, organized, and to the point. Thank you.
you're very welcome!
Thank you! You are so awesome and I have learned so many skills from you from fixing my car to now hanging drywall. ❤ you are saving me A LOT of money and giving me info I can reteach when I help other ladies. You are THE BEST!! ❤
Love this tutorial! Clear, specific, but to the point! I helped my family do drywall years ago, but now my own family has unfortunately experienced some massive water damage. Our insurance seems to have an unrealistic view of how much it costs to have someone come in to do repairs, but after watching this video as a refresher I feel much more confident in doing it myself! 💪
Thank you for the instructions. Always eager to watch others and see their techniques and skills in addition to being able to explain and teach! Well done and thanks again!
I have never put up dry wall. I found your video and it made things so much easier for me. Thanks for the tips and tricks of the trade.
Hi Charles, Glad to help
One of the better home help videos I have seen
Chanse Frenette Thanks!
I officially feel like I could do this professionally.... Great instruction. The small tips (stagger when hanging) is great. Never would have known to do that.
I have zero experience with home remodeling. Luckily people like you give me hope :)
fantastic! 🙂👍
this was almost ASMR for home improvements!! I was so relaxed watching this and now I am going to go find a wall in my house to hang drywall on!
Ok I was a hanger for 16 years. Im now a new fan!!!
This lady kicks ass. Thanks for the video. It will help me with my new job
you're welcome, Geoff, and good luck with your new job!
Great instructional video!! Your explanation and step by step instructions are top notch! You gave me the confidence that “I can do it” !!!! Thank you!!!!
I took a drywall job as a laborer and to learn the ropes so I can do it on my own I'm 18 and I looked at lotsa videos this was.the best video this far.. excellent job explaining everything it really gives a beginner good insight...
great video thumbs up💪
You're 18....way to go!!!!
this was the most straightforward demonstration ever! I just bought a new home which needs renos and I'm glad I found your channel. Keep up the amazing work :)
thanks, Alison, and congrats on your new home!
Thanks to this video I finally learned how to cut drywall. I'm doing a small project and used the info you showed in the video and was like "Hey, that actually worked!". Before, I was always trying to cut through the drywall. And the drywall T was extremely helpful. Thanks so much. I enjoy your other videos as well. Great work.
You're welcome, and I'm glad my tips worked for you! Thanks so much for commenting.
YOU ARE THE BEST AT EXPLAINING STEP BY STEP KEEP HELPING AND STAY BLESSED 🙏🏿
thank you very much!
Thank you for your step by step instructions. I'm a novice and need all the help I can get with a home I just bought. Thanks again.
Congrats on the new home and good luck with any future projects.
Hi Leah,
I agree with others that your presentation is very effective. I have a comment on cutting holes in DW for utility boxes. Instead of cutting along the rectangle lines with a DW saw try the following. With the desired box rectangle outlined in pencil score the four sides on the front DW side with a utility knife. Then plunge the DW saw at the center of the rectangle and cut along the diagonals to the corners from the center. Go to the back side and score lines connecting the ends of the diagonals on four sides. Popping out the resulting four triangles from the front side will result in perfect sharp edges.
Rumpole Cool idea, thanks for sharing it!
thank you, ma'm! i just started install work and you made me feel less insecure about this
i love teachers who like me. sometimes at work the attitude is more " are you an idiot ? " as opposed to your very humble approach
subscribed!
+j en thanks, Jim!
Thanks so much! I've done plumbing, roofing, brick laying but never dry wall and just got hired to do It and I start next week so I'm trying to learn as much as possible to help me out and ensure I keep the job and your video has given me lot of new tips! Thanks so much!
+XxJustinXx88 you're welcome, Justin, glad to be of help! good luck with your new job!
+seejanedrill Thank you very much Jane!
You did a great job of making this video for sure. Just bought my first house. And with your video and I hope there are more. I believe I will have no problems remodeling. Thank you for the lesions.

Super helpful video, just bought my first house and will be using your channel for pointers. Thanks!
Leah that's the easiest I've ever seen and heard it done, thank you, Net.

Leah, You ROCK! I've been doing all kinds of handy work around my newly bought tax foreclosed house. Thank you for the step by step informative videos that even a girly girl can follow. I can hardly wait to put up my first drywall. I'll send you before and after pics to show "I CAN do this"! Until the next video, keep teaching with patience and accuracy.
This makes me want to tackle my sunroom - ripping out the paneling and putting up drywall. Thanks for this great tutorial!
+Deb Neufell (Neuf) you're welcome, Deb!
Leah, GREAT video. No BS, right to the point. Easy to understand - very clear. You taught us everything we need to know in 1/3 of time of another video we tried. Thank you.
You motivate me Everytime I see you. Glad to see you. I need to learn this and how to remodel bathroom etc.

I just found this channel and am very happy with the steady speech and clear explanations. This is very beginner friendly ❤new subscriber here
nice simple video without over-explaining everything. looking forward to more vids.
Darwin Rodriguez thanks, glad you liked it! :)
Fantastic video...I appreciated the fact that you took the time to explain every step during your demonstrations and included tips as to why they may be of benefit. Keep up the good work...impressive stuff.
cavinson mugaviri Thanks so much, I appreciate your comments! :)
You gave me the courage to put in a shut off valve for my toilet, Thanks for your great instructions and inspiration, I never have done anything like that before. Now I am learning to do drywall I need to install... love your videos and appreciate you so very much.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video, you're a very good instructor
Great stuff. I live in Japan where sheetrock is 3 X 6 foot. But your explanations are just as pertinent. Thank you so much
+Adam Turnbull you're welcome, Adam, glad to hear it!
To make a break, it's actually easier to have a 4x8 table to work with. Make your cut as instructed, however, when it comes time to break, you align the cut with the edge of the table, lift the drywall 1/2 inch or so, then drop it. The knee-bend technique offered here works well most of the time, but I've gotten bad breaks before. The table technique always works for me.
You have a talent for teaching. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Hey Keila, I DO NOT often make the effort of praising people in videos, but DAMN!!!!!! YOU are ONE HELL of an awesome woman. You make this seem so effortless and easy. You're one hell of a woman. I really don't say that to anyone, but WOW you just make it seem so easy. I'm a computer programmer myself (so that's my excuse as to why I'm so labor-retarded), so I spent about 5 hours hanging up drywall on only one wall that's about 12 feet in width, 10 feet in height. There's NO reason as to why I spent that much time on one wall. You seem like you'd be able to do my entire room in the time it took me to only complete one wall. I just REALLY can't show enough appreciation of your character and video. I am VEEEEERY glad though that you have over 200,000 views on this video, as well as praising comments. You are just BEYOND AN AWESOME WOMAN! :) :) :)
+Some UA-camr wow, thanks very much!!
