This is an old animation I made back in September (you can find it in my tik tok account @niscja32 with a lot more) but I decided to post it also here since this is the first animation ever with a VA and I'm kinda proud of it.
Go and watch/read Houseki no kuni/Land of the lustrous if you have never heard of it.

The voice, the animation, the ost, the emotion... Everything is perfect.
I miss watching the anime, I feel something inside me everytime I hear that ost 😢
This entire build up, the arc, the self loss and “Replacements” led up to this, Phos not able to remember who they truly purely once were, One of the most heart ripping scenes in Manga History, H.N.K is in a Lustrous league of its own.
In the end they found back this innocence and purity they once lost, through losing all the replacements and by extension their new self
absolutely heartbreaking. i wanted to hug phos so much at that moment. it's easy to forget that all these things happened over the course of hundreds, even thousands, of years. so it really was possible through the normal course of his life he forgot what he was like when he first began his long journey. it's easy to forget that this is a human, crystallized. i have honestly been terrified to read the latest book, but i think i have to.

i swear if this manga was written by a dude and it was about a dude with a sword or a gun and not a genderless female-presenting gem person constantly losing their body parts in the service of others only to be repeatedly betrayed, it would be in the same echelon as Blame or Berserk
00:26 its really nice how you animated phos walking, very detailed and the low framerate show how difficult it is for phos to walk. is that the part that took you the most time ?
Well, it took me the most time only because there were a lot of details to animate. Also, this one was an old animation I did back in September, so to tell the truth, the most complicated part was when young Phos stopped to fix his hair😃😃 But yea, I enjoyed a lot animating that part
I'm glad that I made it into 2024 so I can see this masterpiece getting animated

Beautiful animation indeed! But if I HAD to nitpick anything at all, i would say the sound effects. In the anime ehen the gems walk it should sound like rocks clanking on the floor, also Human Phos is now made mostly of metal, it should sound heavy every time they step. Otherwise everything is perfect ❤
Unfortunately at that time I didn't have an editor and I suck at adding sound effects. However recently I found one so my next animation will definitely have sounds effects

feels weird hearing a female voice come out of human phos though, i always imagine he'd have a deeper masculine voice, something similar to kongos (due to the fact kongo and humanphos have the same facial structure, fun fact!)
