- Night Drive & Adaptive LED test with the recent 2015 / 2016 BMW 520d LCI (190hp, 400Nm). Similar to what I did with the Mercedes-Benz CLS Facelift a few weeks ago I wanted to show you how BMW's light system works and maybe you can spot some differences when watching the two clips. Overall BMWs system seems more mechanical as the lights are "moving" around a lot more, very effective by the way. The Mercs LEDs seem to be more variable in turning on an of just a few of them. Overall LEDs really make driving at night a lot safer, both for you and the person thats driving in front of you or is coming your way. das system an sich ist ja echt toll, nur würde mich stören, dass ,wie im Video gesehen, erst das Fernlicht komplett ausgeht, um dann wieder anzugehen&das Fahrzeug voraus auszusparen

Let's see...I haven't driven the Astra and the Audi Matrix LED at night yet. Lust drove the new Merc GLS with the LED system, that's amazing!
+Automann-TV Im looking forward to see somewhere review of this four systems (but not expecting differences), but after all, in Your opinion- are they worth it? My Leons LED are quite nice in daily use- do I have to be jealous about not having advanced lights like new Astra...? ;)
Mastertoon Haven't driven the new Astra yet, but Matrix LEDs are clrearly superior to the normal ones that you have in your Leon and I have in my Audi S3.

That is why I stand with F11, looks like a 5er feels like a 5er in the g series I would choose the 3 series.

my uncle still has this car I have a golf 8 with the most powerful headlights of the iq light range there are no big differences for me the eco led headlights of the golf in 2023 are worse than these Xenon for the time they were really headlights with the counter assholes

The problem is if you set the light in Auto mode and when you drive at night time, the light will be on and off all the time. Does it wear the light sensor soon? My Jeep has the same function, I set a Auto Mode which the high beam will be on automatically, unfortunately, it only last 2 years and and the sensor failed. I hope BMW will invent much better quality.
Sorry, I did not get what you meant about driving on the autobahn. Which adaptive lights are blinding the other cars while on the autobahn?
I'm a bit surprised that the car doesn't adapt its high beam pattern when encountering oncoming traffic, it just turns the high beams off. I have the perception that Audi's matrix leds adapt in all circumstances like the BMW in the case of catching up with a car.
What about a comparison with an Opel Astra K with Intellilux LED lights? :)

Ist das System das gleiche / ähnliche wie im neuen Astra? Hast du den schon gefahren? Schönes Vid! :)
+3rexcit Bin den neuen Astra noch nicht gefahren, aber der hat meines Wissens nach ein Matrix-LED Licht welches eher dem Mercedes CLS oder Audi TT ähnelt als dem BMW. Matrix bedeutet, dass statische LEDs an und abgeschaltet werden, hier wird mechanisch bewegt.
+Automann-TV Ich habe gehört, dass bei den normalen Xenonscheinwerfern des LCI ebenfalls ein mech. System zum Einsatz kommt, kannst du dazu was sagen?
Bei meinem Non-LCI mit Kurvenlicht wird leider nur automatisch auf- und abgeblendet.
***** Das bezieht sich meiner Meinung nach nur auf das Kurvenlicht. Einzeln- auf und abblenden geht meines Erachtens nicht bei den serienmäßigen Xenon-Scheinwerfern.
