This video is very helpful, thank you! I have questions about cotton batting with scrim. Does scrim make much difference about how a quilt feels as far as drape, softness, warmth and breathability?

I learned quilting from an 82 year old lady in Virginia 50 or so years ago. We used a blanket for batting. We used yarn and “tied” the quilt

Hi again Leah. What batting would you recommend for a table cloth? I am finishing the top of my tabecloth for a friend and I want the quilt to drape nicely over the table and not be too bulky, but I would also like some thickness for the applique that I have done on it. Thanks for your help.

I used a wool batting on my last quilt, the fibres came through into my material and I had a terrible time brushing them out. I am now going to try a bamboo and cotton mix batting. I have used bamboo before I find it it good on a home sewing machine.
