i typically love the editing but feel like in this scenery theres so much color and life and the overexposed style is taking that away, overall though i love the video
Lauren Solo everyone captures California the same. this is his interpretation. I'm glad he didn't show overly orange/warm images. I see that shit all day
I mostly shoot skateboarding and I feel the same. action photos are spectacular and stuff but I find it more interesting to shoot what is going on when no one is skateboarding. it's about having fun and hanging around with your friends.
Really enjoyed this vid George 👌 agree with some of the other comments that no music was nice. Having the near constant background noise of the skateboards really captures the ambiance 👌👌
George, team, You cats are killing this. the show is evolving and I love the new feel. Excellent camera work, great narative. GOOD Work, you guys are doing something new.
Hands down THE BEST ep of Negative Feedback. I guess being a portrait photographer myself, I just appreciate the portraits you shoot (and especially THESE) more than the regular stuff you normally shoot on NF eps. MORE. OF. THIS. PLEASE. ❤️
I really appreciate the fact of being able to see the lighthing condition in the video camera and compare it to the results on a medium format film, specially at this time of day that is the late afternoon That is some great content here
Love Venice Beach and love spending time at the skate park just to watch the guys and spectators. You captured the feel of the spot perfectly George! Great job. I'm gonna be in Los Angeles next week and my Rolleiflex is definitely coming with me!
Your channel..... I love every video you put out! I teach a photo class in a high school in Canada and I show the students to our videos all the time. You've inspired more than a few of them to try shooting real film- keep up the amazing work!
probably one of my favourite videos you guys have put out! so good. loved the premise and the photos are impeccable. also lol @ "can I check em out?" "well it's a film camera so"
You are such an inspiration man. Your portraits are out of this world! I've been dreaming of getting a P67 for years but never had the money. I'm being one this week even if I have to eat boiled potatoes for a month ☺️
Love this video, George! The portraits were awesome! I wish I had the courage to walk up to someone and ask them if I could take their picture. I'm sure I would get some good shots!
Been watching your videos for a couple months now, i really enjoy your content and style. Can't wait to see the rest from your LA trip. If you're ever in the San Francisco Bay area for shooting, i've got some great spots for ya. Keep it up!
I very much like the exposures on this set. It would be nice to see some good videos about metering. Here you are achieving great shots both backlit and sunlit :)
Hi George. I love your channel and your photos. As I'm sure you already know, a good alternative way to have a "preview" look at what you shot before you bring all the rolls to the lab is to use polaroïd backs... on the Hasselblad 500 or 503 series or the Mamiya RZ67 for instance. Both these types of camera accept different backs (film 120 and 220, polaroïd, digital ;) Keep up the great work. Thanx
"Can I check them out?"
"It's a film camera"
"Ohhhh no shit!! That's tight as fuck dude, that's the real deal camera right there"
Hahaha
hahaha, he was such a Los Angeles stereotype
best fucking reaction lol
those dudes were cool as fuck! Hopefully I can come across people like that when I'm shooting in LA
george: it's a film camera
skater : ooohhh no shit thats tight af dude"
such a great californian moment
Colin get the 405 back to Simi Valley 😂😅
that made me so happy
I liked it how you didn't use music this time. I thought I could feel the air as if I am there watching you shoot the pictures
Exactly what I thought!!!
So fucking true
just right
Such ambiènce, much gold.
Tim Palman "ambiance", mon cher ami. 🙂
Boy that cinematographer is good
Haha yep
Louis Bryant I agree!! Good job!
Louis Bryant what do you mean? Which cinematographer?
maybe
Hey Louis! you should try and record the cinematography for a video on 8mm! that would be soo cool!!!!
god that guy in the blue shirt from the skate park made me laugh so hard he is SUCH a quintessential venice kid
*"Cool"*
- George
Great video as always. Loved the instant respect you got when the skater realised you were shooting film. Well done.
This week's video is my favourite; I like seeing how you asked people for pictures, love the spontaneity of it :D
i typically love the editing but feel like in this scenery theres so much color and life and the overexposed style is taking that away, overall though i love the video
Lauren Solo everyone captures California the same. this is his interpretation. I'm glad he didn't show overly orange/warm images. I see that shit all day
Love the highkey/overexposed feel of the photos. So much light.
the low contrast is what makes them so milky lol
Moritz.ltr to get that less agitation right?
do you know if he retouches his photos or are they straight out of camera?
@@saive_music p sure he does retouch a little he said in a past video
They just look overexposed to me
The sound of that Pentax's shutter is so pleasurable.
I mostly shoot skateboarding and I feel the same. action photos are spectacular and stuff but I find it more interesting to shoot what is going on when no one is skateboarding. it's about having fun and hanging around with your friends.
Me too, i also enjoy taking push photos
Los Angeles really does have a way about it. Great work. You can really feel the California even without seeing the ocean.
This is probably one of my favorite Negative Feedback videos!
This is probably the best episode yet.
i love how everyone is appreciating the sounds going on because they are definitely pleasing to hear
Really enjoyed this vid George 👌 agree with some of the other comments that no music was nice. Having the near constant background noise of the skateboards really captures the ambiance 👌👌
Liking this one being without music. Really elevates the feeling of being with you in the park.
Cant wait to see the rest of the trip!!! This has slowly become the only photography channel I watch anymore
I just recently used Richard Lab for the first time for two rolls of 35mm. Very pleased with the quality and the customer service
George, team, You cats are killing this. the show is evolving and I love the new feel. Excellent camera work, great narative. GOOD Work, you guys are doing something new.

I love your vibe. You're always so calm and respectful. Very kind and thoughtful. It's amazing to see.
This one of the best photography videos I have ever seen. Everything about it felt very raw and genuine. Great work.
I adore the brightness of these photos!
At 3:29 of video I see some rad shadows and light in the ramp. Great video. Making me crave that Pentax and wanting to travel
This was really fun! I'm excited for the next part :) I loved the concept behind getting the audience clear but the skaters all blurred and ghostly.
That Pentax 67 shutter sound, so meaty ! Loved the shots ! : )
The Pentax is a monster.
Nice portraits. It's such a nice experience to photograph "strangers".
Love how you included the interactions between you and the subjects. It was a great view into the creative process.
I could watch your videos all day long !!
So much quality!
I dig the grading for the video contrasting against the actual exposure. Sorta the opposite of what you normally find with photo videos.
I really appreciate the fact of being able to see the lighthing condition in the video camera and compare it to the results on a medium format film, specially at this time of day that is the late afternoon
That is some great content here
Your shots are actually gold.
Really like the crowd shots, for me and my work that's where the interesting moments are.
interesting to see how neutral the warm light is - adds to the documentary feel
this video got that documentary feel. i like it. it fits well with the subject.
Loved every single picture from this. Great job George! Lou's cinematography is always on point too.
These are huge, love that you zoomed the pictures to appreciate the quality of 6x7 negs.
Its refreshing to see a change of atmosphere with this photoshoot. I admire seeing you challenge this scene on your visit. Nice job(:
Everything about this video was absolutely wonderful. Thank you for this George and Louis!
Love Venice Beach and love spending time at the skate park just to watch the guys and spectators. You captured the feel of the spot perfectly George! Great job. I'm gonna be in Los Angeles next week and my Rolleiflex is definitely coming with me!
Damn, this may be one of my favourite videos from you guys so far! Keep it up.
Keep up the great work, George! You're definitely my favorite photographer in this UA-cam world!
Your channel..... I love every video you put out! I teach a photo class in a high school in Canada and I show the students to our videos all the time. You've inspired more than a few of them to try shooting real film- keep up the amazing work!

Didn't need any damn notifications cause I've just been refreshing my sub feed over and over again until I see a new NegativeFeedback Video.
the feeling of satisfaction one must get when they asks "can i see the photo"?, and you answer "its film" ahhhh
Wow George you're really into super low contrast. That's cool :)
Been watching your videos for a couple months now, i really enjoy your content and style.
Can't wait to see the rest from your LA trip. If you're ever in the San Francisco Bay area for shooting,

Been waiting for this for so long
THIS WAS JUST GREAT
In preparation, I stacked several ND filters on my prescription glasses so I could view your captures. I had been pre-warned they were "bright".
