Pink Floyd's Pulse High Hopes and Comfortably Numb performance, and Led Zep's Celebration Day live performance of Kashmir are all live perfection...incredible, historic live performances! Must hear before you leave planet Earth.
No one can make a guitar sing like gilmore he is unique, the whole band is amazing, musical story tellers I've never got tired of listening to them over nearly 50 years
You had the same kind of reaction that I get every time I listen to this song, and I've probably heard it at least 500 times. It gets me every time. The second solo brings forth all the pain and angst inside, and at least for me that makes it cathartic because it lets it out and washes it away, so I feel like I've been washed clean every time I hear it. Thanks for a great reaction video =D
Thank you so much for reacting to this. I was in high school when this song first came out in 1979. I remember it well. My girlfriend at the time and I loved attending concerts. It was one of the things we loved doing together. There were a huge number of wonderful groups at the time and concerts were not very expensive to attend. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Triumph, 38 Special, Foreigner, and many others. I cannot describe to you what a wonderful time it was to be young then. We were happier, relationships were closer, life was more carefree, and the music was spectacular. Our 4 adult children (28-33) love 70’s/80’s music just as we do. My heart just aches that young people will not get to experience life as we did as teenagers in the 70’s/80’s. Again, thank you so much for posting this video. It was a wonderful treat.
Harri, if you want to TRULY experience Floyd as it was meant to be, it is REQUIRED that you listen to Dark Side Of The Moon from start to finish. It cant be fully appreciated without this. If you could do a reaction to the entire Dark Side album, it would be amazing for us, and it will change your life, like it does for most people. There are very few musical experiences like Dark Side in its entirety. Close To The Edge by Yes is another example of this (another masterpiece of 20th Century music). Great reaction!
Pink Floyd and their music is truly life changing! Really listening to the lyrics of so many of their songs and they'll open your eyes, your heart, and your mind, which leads you to see the world in a whole new way for the rest of your life!!
I saw this concert live with my best friend and it was such an emotional night, im now 58 and dont mind admitting i cried on the night I saw them and ever time i watch this concert it always brings tears to my eyes, such was the experience of watching Floyd live. FYI, I was sitting upstairs on the right of the stage right at the back and I have to say that even thought the video is a wonderful sight it doesnt do the concert justice.
Can't believe you interpreted the song right. Syd Barrett (original Pink Floyd member) lost his mind early on to drugs. I would have never guessed the meaning myself -- I 've read about it. You're amazing Harri - woah!
I know this song since '79 - I was 20 at this time - I always feel the same emotion when listening to it ! Tears are never far, I am so much touched by this guitar solo... That PULSE live version is even better with a very long 2nd solo, David Gilmour took the time to buid it, and your emotion goes higher and higher... as he plugs his guitar directly to your soul.... And i always loved David's warm voice ! Dom, a 62 years old fan from France
Rohnny Jotten I totally respect your point of view but there is someone who gets near to Gilmours emotion through 6 strings. Please watch Stevie Ray Vaughan playing Texas Flood (live at El Mocambo). I think and hope you will enjoy it. It's such a privilege to see masters like these displaying their craft. This Gilmour performance is among the best I have ever seen. Happy listening 🎸
When you were talking about your friend I was thinking about the pressure placed on those who seem to have the world at their feet as children. I think one of the most difficult words for kids to live up to is "potential".
Your reaction to this epic performance was one of the best I’ve ever seen. I could really tell how much you appreciated the greatness of what you had just experienced and hell yes, anything that awesome will bring tears to your eyes.
What I think about the 2nd solo is, it takes all your pain, everyone's pain, and just fucks it off into the sky for a few minutes. It's still there, but for a few minutes it's gone :)
Watched a lot of these reaction videos on this song and Harri you really nailed this one. Your perspective on this song was so spot on, I am so impressed. I cried with you my friend!!!
Harri, I've now watched several of your 'Reaction' videos (mostly the Pink Floyd ones). I just want to say that I'm impressed. I'm impressed by your honesty and humility in the face of wondrous music and the emotions that it can sometimes engender. I appreciate your intelligence, your humour, your self-deprecation and the respect that you show to genius. Well done. Good stuff, fellow human.
David Gilmour is the best to me. And Comfortably Numb is my favorite song. For many years it was a state of mind for my life that was really messed up for a long time. Much better in my 60's now. But this performance was phenomenal. And your reaction was palpable. I understood you, my brother. I enjoyed your video.
Wow dude this is probably one of the best reactions that I watched You literally dissected that song into various parts and how it affected you I'll be straight with you I'm 54 and I've been listening that song since I was 16 years old saw them in concert live three times and put it this way The only thing that I ask everybody when I die play that song. Great job I hope you'll listen to that song a lot more in the future very very nice to watch. Have a good one kind of makes you look at life a little bit differently through eyes of many. ...
I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap froged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION… I have seen Pink Floyd 4 times. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all.
Helene here.... Considered as one of the best guitar solos in history...universally....if not the very best. Next up...do Sorrow from the same concert. You are the second reactor in as many days to cry when listening to this. Most guitarists do long guitar solos live, but all the do is shred it. David Gilmour makes every note count and it touches you deep down every time you hear it.

This solo stands out because it conveys such powerful emotion, as it so obviously did for you. I was fortunate enough to experience this tour in Vancouver BC.
Really touched by what you had to say, keep the positive going, and nurture your dreams, it's never too late to get back on track, I think your friend was definitely telling you something. Caught this live many years ago with Roger Waters being very much part of the group, quite an experience.
Well put man... I really relate to the way you described this song. This is by far the best and more expressive guitar solo of all time for me. Cheers!
Back in 1988 i saw Pink floyd perform home here in Denmark, I didnt exatly knew what to expect. But when David Gilmore played this number and "Shine on your crazy diamond" my jaw felt to the floor.(and stayed there) The sound was crystal clear, and in surround. The light show was amazing. Some of the famous guitarist's you mentioned may be technically better the Mr Gilmor but none of them can get the same level of pure emotion from the guitar. Really glad you have discovered probably the best band ever👍❤🏴
Anyone who witnesses this concert, witnesses greatness, unlike they will probably ever see anywhere. It is a very special thing and you can feel it in your soul. One of the greatest guitar solos and songs ever played anywhere ever
After they experienced the video, all the reactors I've seen are amazed about the spectacular lights show but not you. Maybe you're created to have a brilliant hearing more than seeing and that's why you can't stop thinking and feels the song more. I think this is a perfect balance in our life.
My God, I Love your reaction to this. This song, done this way, always seems to Overload my Emotions and like you, I get tears even though my heart and mind are Soaring somewhere out in a space that is reserved for out of body experiences and trips to Heaven. This guitar solo is second to none, for me. That guitar makes itself into a Magic Carpet and is just slow enough so that I don't fall off... until I want to. Harri, all is well. Always has been and always will be, so long as we're able to keep our side of the street clean and do our best to let go of the reigns and not fight to Control things. I wish that I knew what it was that you're toiling over, but only so that I might be able to help you in some way. So, until our paths cross again, I hope that You remain Well & reasonably Happy too. I saw pink floyd at the lyric theater live in the early seventies. Simply the best concert I ever attended, and it has a lot of competition. I'll never forget it.
I've seen this concert in France, I totally understand what you mean... I had the chance to see my favorite band, to me, the best moment of my life... Thanks for your beautiful reaction, respect 😘
I totally agree, but I feel that way about pretty much all music. David, in the Bible, was a musician so it is meant for us to enjoy music. I've read that music actually has a very positive effect on the brain. As a Christian I tend to stay away from inappropriate lyrics, but I'm a classic rock buff. :-)
@@infinityandbeyond9179 Meh. Classic rock is iconoclastic, not usually "fitting" for those restrictive rules of yours. Glad you are able to enjoy "some" music, but let down the guardrails - you'll find a lot more to enjoy. Peace.
@@donthomasdunigan7004 I have no restrictive rules my friend. I was probably around long before you heard Comfortably Numb or any of the classics for that matter!!!!
Yes Harri, definitely worth a stand up. One of the greatest guitar solos of all time. In actual fact, when it comes to this style of rock, it may well be number one.
Headphones are definitely better to listen to Pink Floyd, but when you are listening to any album versions of their songs, you'll notice why they're essential more than you will when listening to any live versions.
Nah, listen to Delicate Sound of Thunder on Blu Ray in DTS Master Audio 5.1 on a really good 5.1 system, lossless audio, like being at the concert. Don’t forget PF used quadraphonic systems when they played live, give it a listen👍
You win my vote for best reaction to this song my man. For me this is the only guitar piece that makes me cry, I think it's because somewhere in your subconcious it registers that you know you will never here anything better than this.
I was working as assistant sound tech at the BBC at the time, we recorded the full show, thankfully for me, my job was virtually irrelevant, real pros were doing all the twiddly stuff, so I could just enjoy the show, I hope you can get the sense of how huge the place is, and the sound was mind blowing, never seen or heard anything like it before or since...
Great reaction Harry. Nice on the earbuds. Continue to follow your PF discovery...looking forward to you coming out of the rabbit hole...wondering what's next on the journey? Maybe something off the Animals album?
@@HarriBestReactions The Animals album has just 3 songs: "Dogs", "Pigs" & "Sheep". As with all PF albums during Roger Waters' time, all songs have a connected "concept". Start with "Sheep". To think about it in human terms... imagine what you would think about if someone was described as "sheepish"...that's kind of the gist of the song. "Dogs" is by far my favorite...often considered epic by PF fans...but it plays out on an entire album side, so would make for a very long reaction video. As a side note, Pigs On the Wing is a very short song that the album starts and ends with. I would strongly suggest that you do a UA-cam search for Pigs On The Wing (Parts 1 & 2)...this version includes an amazing Gilmour lead that was left on the cutting room floor...do yourself a favor & check it out since you have been reveling in Gilmour's lead work as you go down the "rabbit hole". Next up might be "On the Turning Away" Remastered 2019...you will continue to be amazed my friend. I am following your PF journey and absolutely appreciate your reactions! Peace Harri.
Pink Floyd are I think are a band that can reach into your soul and connect with you like no other band can they instinctively know how your mind will react to their music and that’s a fantastic thing to be able to do on both an Emotional and physical level you can feel your blood pressure drop as you relax into the music, A great reaction I watched the music take you to places in your head like it did me when I first heard them, Stay safe. 👍🏻
I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know
Simply the greatest guitar solo of all time by the best guitarist and the best group of musicians EVER to take a stage.

Loving this presenter. He is articulate and gets the point with Floyd.More of him please
Keep Smiling... Cheers my Friend...
Great reaction - mind blown.
The best seat in the house is All the other band members as they watch and listen in awe!
laugh cry same time u said it!...I did,... we that grew up with 'em, laughed criedand then, and still do now 35+ yrs ago!!!. They are that special!! So out of this world, transportation man! they let us forget our problems for a while and float!!🌌✨🌠🌈🍃
I saw pink floyd at the lyric theater live in the early seventies. Simply the best concert I ever attended, and it has a lot of competition. I'll never forget it.
People who react to this song with emotion, like you did, are wereing there soul on the out side, I could see yours! Very bright, Blinding!❣
I've seen this concert in France, I totally understand what you mean... I had the chance to see my favorite band, to me, the best moment of my life... Thanks for your beautiful reaction, respect 😘
Oh wow!..Peace Isabelle
Fantastic reaction! We all felt the same way. Wish I'd been there in 1994
Never, ever, watch a live Pink Floyd video and close your eyes - you are depriving yourself of an important sensual input.
This.
Your reaction was almost exactly the same as mine was 20 years ago when my dad played it for me for the first time. 😊
Headphones are definitely better to listen to Pink Floyd, but when you are listening to any album versions of their songs, you'll notice why they're essential more than you will when listening to any live versions.
↑ This!
Nah, listen to Delicate Sound of Thunder on Blu Ray in DTS Master Audio 5.1 on a really good 5.1 system, lossless audio, like being at the concert. Don’t forget PF used quadraphonic systems when they played live, give it a listen👍
LOL I always have my headphones or ear buds in. I'm probably going to blast my hearing out because I only have one personal setting...LOUD! LOL
Sorrow is another epic song from this concert of epic songs.
Definitely my favorite Pink Floyd song!
You win my vote for best reaction to this song my man. For me this is the only guitar piece that makes me cry, I think it's because somewhere in your subconcious it registers that you know you will never here anything better than this.
Thank you Phil
Great reaction dud .. best thing about PF that they are an experience .. no doubt after 40 years living on their music ✌🏻
IT"S THE VISUALLY AS WELL AS THE MUSIC WHEN YOU WATCH PINK FLOYD LIVE!! You can't close your eyes for you miss so much!
Great reaction Harri. Thank you 😊
My pleasure 😊
Great explanation of that first solo 👍
Loved your reaction ❤
Perfect reaction.
I was working as assistant sound tech at the BBC at the time, we recorded the full show, thankfully for me, my job was virtually irrelevant, real pros were doing all the twiddly stuff, so I could just enjoy the show, I hope you can get the sense of how huge the place is, and the sound was mind blowing, never seen or heard anything like it before or since...
wow James
Great reaction Harry. Nice on the earbuds. Continue to follow your PF discovery...looking forward to you coming out of the rabbit hole...wondering what's next on the journey? Maybe something off the Animals album?
Thank you! Will do! I dont even know their albums 😀😃But i will scroll through the fans requests..do you have a request Lynn?
I was there live. Pontiac Silverdome. Best concert & one of the greatest experiences of my life.
H-man ... I've seen/heard that solo hundreds of times, it still makes my eyes 'leak'
You definitely add happy to my day!!
I'm so glad! Thanx Lauren
That guitar solo is pure cosmic energy, sent from the distant edge of the universe to heal our souls...
Nothing compares to Floyd and yes that guitar solo makes me cry too every time
Just think had you been in that hall with the music so loud but clean, you couldn't even think.
Makes you very emotional 😢 you just feel it and float!
Good reaction. Layers upon layers of meaning, best guitar solo that I have ever seen, the Pulse concert in 94 version!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wow, thanks!..guitar was out of this world
LOVE THE REACTION !
Awesome song it is
Fantastic review.. everything you say just resonates w/ me 100%.
Thanx Pras
I have to say probably the most spendid guitar solo filled with emotion and a journey into the amazing Pink Floyd
I saw them on this tour at Yankee Stadium in NYC. It was amazing.
Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know
love from Portugal. This touches us all
Gracias Andre!
@@HarriBestReactions I got the idea but in Portuguese its "Obrigado". "Gracias" is in Spanish but its ok. I got the point mate
Hello my friend..yes .. Pink Floyd forever and ever.. Thanksgiving..
