The long awaited unofficial sequel to that riff on Disneyland's opening day special!
I just rewatched that, and they make a reference to this short in it! It's all come full circle!
A riff of Steamboat Willie, YOU FOOL THAT’LL NEVER WORK!!!!
Will Irene Dunne’s bustle FINALLY GET ADJUSTED?
It’s so great to watch Tony, Dave, and Charlie join together to riff on any random piece of content, let alone from Disney!
So animal torture was not only Mickey's first wacky third act shenanigan, it was also Mickey and Minnie's FIRST DATE!
"Get to work making Potatoland before Goofy gets here."
"But Goofy won't be born for another 4 years."
In the words of a different cartoon: I AM SOO --ing READY!
My great grandfather always talked about seeing a young Walt Disney spinning out of control on a steamboat
Speaking of Oswald, Disney SERIOUSLY needs to do more with his character.
One of the greatest comedic trios together again.... What a joyous day.
Meanwhile, Sora, Donald, and Goofy are chasing Future Pete.
Other Public Domain Disney shorts (according to Disney Wiki, anyway):
-The Mad Doctor
-The Gallopin Gaucho
-Hooked Bear
-Donald Gets Drafted
-The Cookie Carnival
-Susie the Little Blue Coupe
-Planning for Good Eating
-The Winged Scourge, a wartime short guest starring the Seven Dwarves
"before I came along, all cartoon animals did was play the ukulele"
- Chester J. Lampwick
The Mystery Science Theater 3000 inspiration is so strong in this!!!
If Mickey is Mr. Fantasmic, does that mean he’s played by Pedro Pascal now?
I actually made a drawing of Mickey as Reed, Minnie as Sue, Donald as Johnny, and Goofy as Ben Grimm.
Mickey: Hey, what are you doing with that golf club?
More of these please
I remember watching Steamboat Willie with my family at Disneyland, one of my fondest memories of the parks.
Cue the obligatory "uh huh uh huh uh huh"'s.... Those who know know.
" You see, zee ping pong balls..."
riff Plane Crazy and Gallopin’ Gaucho too since they are also public domain now too
The silent versions, Yes.
The audio versions, I can wait until next year for Plane Crazy and whenever the dispute ends for Gallopin' Gaucho.
@@MARIO1UP2000 there’s a dispute already
Oh my gosh! This is literally the same channel that has the "Florida Theme Park BLITZSTRAVAGANZA".
I remembered watching the Day in the Park with Barney episode before the attraction closed.
I don't know how i managed to come back here...but i'd say that's a good thing for me to return. Subscribed!
This is the movie the Mouse fought tooth and nail to retain ownership for decades, huh?
Technically, this _wasn't_ Mickey's first short, that title belongs to _Plane Crazy._ It's just that this short is the more well-known, like how Bela Lugosi's portrayal of Dracula isn't the first portrayal of Dracula on film, but it is the most iconic.
Oh sweet Mortimer mouse yes!
Because now it's public domain and Disney can't say anything
3:29 When are they gonna pass by Ronald Reegan talking while not facing the camera?
"Art Linkletter is looking for a microphone...he looks all confused"
Honestly, this is better than any of Doug’s riffs.
It's been a while since you did a riff with the boys!
This is fun
I LOVE YOU GUYS
You can tell how badly this short aged, at least from a narrative standpoint (aka it doesn't have a narrative), when I'm watching it again and am beginning to make comparisons to fucking Freddy Got Fingered.
Surprised you know Mr. Cotton's name
If you don't want to wait for the premiere, you can watch the riff RIGHT NOW for a $2+ pledge! www.patreon.com/posts/patreon-first-98504504
Was Plane Crazy allowed into public domain?
Sort of. The original silent version of the short is in the public domain, however, it is currently lost media. The sound version is still under copyright, as it was originally released in 1929.
Gallopin' Gaucho, the second Mickey Mouse cartoon, both in production and in release, is a slightly different beast entirely. Like Plane Crazy, the silent version is public domain. As for the sound version, it has a copyright notice of 1929, but was released to theatres in late December of 1928, putting its copyright status in a grey area.

HA!!
Hey, this is a total ripoff of Oswald.
"Tell me about the rabbits, Walt" " Universal stole them from me, so I created you. The End"
