The "President of the Government" is named Sorrel Booker, wears a white suit, with a white bowtie. In the early 80's TV show, "The Dukes of Hazzard", the corrupt man that runs Hazzard County, is Boss Hogg. He wears a white suit, with a white bowtie. The name of the actor, that plays Boss Hogg, is Sorrell Booke. I caught this, because I'm a old fart.
It's cool how the show does these one-offs with notable veteran actors, at least one per episode. Gives everyone from all generations that "Hey, I know that guy!" nostalgia.
So yes! As noted before, gulpers are already a thing in Fallout, but the gulpers here look like axolotls (that have been hybridized with humans). Axolotl are known for their regenerative abilities, so of course the scientists would choose them for radiation survival experimentation. The gulpers that exist naturally in the world are just mutated salamanders. I find it interesting/cool that the axolotl-human ones are also called gulpers, like it’s a blanket term for huge-mouthed salamander creatures.
It only occurs to me now (after watching many reactions obsessively) that Cooper actually protected Lucy by not mentioning her to the ‘president.’ He could have been entirely truthful, told the guy who she was. I mean, maybe the truth wouldn’t be believed, but he could have tried. But instead he focused all the attention on himself.
You're very right! I feel at this point, ESPECIALLY after the Super-Duper Mart with the "Golden rule, Motherf-er" was what really instilled a turning point in The Ghoul to bridge the gap between him and Cooper Howard. That, pogniated by Coop seeing himself sell out in that movie where he shot the guy. He also was protecting her, in his own way, during Episode 4, too, when he is taunting her with the water he is drinking. He poors it out in front of her when she asks for a drink, seemingly petulantly and cruely. But the way he scoops the "probably animal pee" water and drinks it before she finally gives in, shows he doesn't care about irradiated water, and wanted her to see that "he is right" and that she should become hardened like him. Plus, spoiler-side, he knows Lucy and has investment in her family in a way already, as she is techinally a tie to the old world via her Father. The way he just wholeheartedly took the blame shows just what you said, he was protecting her. At the lowest end of caring, he is just paying her back --- she saved him, and he owes her. But, I feel this was an illustration of him getting back to who he used to be. When he flips out and empties the clips in the guys, I think that not only was him retaliating at their disrespect and letting out his anger of being toyed with about his search for his family, I think he also was re-asserting his dominant and violent self TO himself, as he did just like literally altruistically essentially help Lucy. This show is amazing!
He didnt do it to protect her. He did it ut if arrogance and wasnt scared of the punks threatening him. He literally sold her into capitivity after he had already known who she was. He doesnt care about her. He cares about himself and finding out what happened to his family. That's it. The Ghoul is evil. He's no longer Cooper from pre war. He might get there eventually.
21:02 Oh that poor sweet Summer Child ❤ They showcase a "Low Intelligence" character off very well in this. Also, Maximus is still essentially a child in a man's body; he's been stunted since he was saved by the BoS; there wasn't a proper life or child-raising there. Of course that poor boy would latch on to the comfort, safety, and seeming altruism from these people. His entire life cries out for a semblance of what he can only scarecly remember that is now scarred by the Bombs Dropping in Shady Sands.
So if you actually call the REAL LIFE NUMBER from the Vault add in the beginning you will get an terrifying yet hilarious peak behind the curtain of what Vault Tec is really about.🤣🤣🤣
With al the Gulper things in this episode, you have to wonder where they got the caviar. Her reaction as the theme played was sooo satisfying. This show just keeps throwing you in one direction, then changes it when you think you understand.
lol To be fair though, in their world it would be wasteful to not use it if they produce eggs anyway. And honestly, is that really that much worse than actual fish eggs? Reminds me about the cow vs human milk debates & reactions.
Sonny, kudos for noticing there not being any children! I watched the show a couple of times and didn't notice that. I'm thinking it was probably due to more logistical reasons than anything plot-wise because there were kids in the classroom during Lucy's intro scene in episode 1 and there was a classroom in vault 4 that was definitely being used. You've probably already watched it, there are a couple of older children in a later episode. Kat, you always come come up with great theories! They are always grounded on what you've seen in the show to date. It's all the more impressive because you're coming up with them immediately after watching the episode! I see a lot of reactors come up with some wacky theories that have no basis to what they just watched. I can neither confirm nor deny your theories at this time. 😊 don't want to spoil anything!
It was a great joke! if I was around, he'd not have had as much of a fallout for laughs with that great bomb of a joke! (yes, adding to the puns on purpose LOL)
Hey guys, I'm new to your channel, & I am liking your reactions to this show. Kat this is the most animated I have seen u.😄 One thing I would like to mention. When Lucy was speaking w/the Overseer for Vault 4, he complained about the surface people. Lucy said something like "If u don't care for them, why do u keep taking them in?" The Overseer's response "Have to, it's in our policy which was written long before me.", or something like that. My theory is that they trapped surface people that wandered into the clinic much like Lucy & Max, & ran experiments on them. The reason I say this is Vault 4 was inhabited mainly by scientists & their families. They needed to get their test subjects from somewhere. Anyway, that's all I had to say.
Every thing in this episode is explained if you listen carefully to the advertisement at the beginning. The family is named Hawthorne just like the R&D lab above vault four. Moldaver IMO 100% cryo.
2nd nose on the forehead makes sense since it needs to connect to sinuses. Nice to see Dallas Goldtooth getting mainstream parts. His comedic roles are fantastic, like in "Reservation Dogs" (not Resevoir dogs).
It's insane to tell a reaction channel that they're spoiling a show they haven't finished watching. That means the person who said that watched the show and basically just commented saying that you figured it out, which is actually more of a spoiler than any passing remark K&S might have made, again, not actually knowing the ending.(for the record, I have no idea what the commenter was even referencing) Also, I like reaction channels a lot but I don't make them my first experience with a piece of media, and if I did, it would be exclusively for stuff I would not care enough to watch on my own.(but that's me and I understand people consume stuff differently)
You just know millions of Fall Out and New Vegas fans all Squee'd in unison with delight when Lucy revealed the NCR flag and the Fall Out music played.
Fiduciary Reponsibility is actually a legal requirement for joint stock companies - LLCs, PLCs, Societe Anonymes etc. They have to provide their shareholders with a return on their investment, which means always prioritising profit maximisation over all other considerations, subject only to laws compelling them to ensure employee safety and not poison customers etc., and then only as far as those laws are enforced. It's a function of private property law in general, and has been the case since joint stock companies were invented in the 17th century, starting with famously evil corporations that pioneered colonial conquest like the Dutch East India Company. Since they are owned by shareholders, their only true loyalty and obedience is towards those shareholders and creditors; not God, not morality, not common sense, nor patriotism nor justice. My guess about Moldaver had to do with President Tandi of the NCR, just because she was famously long-lived in the lore, and was re-elected for 11 terms without much apparent aging. But yeah, otherwise getting cryo-frozen like in FO4 is an option.
19:38 - Fallout players, is it just me or does the guy next to Lucy look like some character in one of the game? Not one of the main companions, but I keep getting a weird feeling it's supposed to look some character...not Gary. Kinda like the woman on the bridge looked & dressed like Cricket from F4.
Idk what they meant by "spoiling" lol! I mean you make guesses and put forward theories. With a good understanding of the game world, your insights have good foundation to them, but that's about it. I don't think you've spoiled anything. Part of the fun for me watching reactions, knowing the content already, is getting to know when your deductions are right and when they spin out into tin foil land.
I had a nightmare about the self-styled President's cyst can - spitting those out of his dinner. So disgusting. Thanks for fun reactions from too sunny California!
There are callbacks to the original 2 but also some major retcons as well, specifically the location of Shady Sands. But having it in the middle of nowhere wouldn't have been as effective story-wise I guess.
I wouldn't say there are major retcons. Sure, Shady Sands moved, but Fallout 1's map was notoriously terrible for the actual locations of places, and things changed from 1 to 2 also. Everything, event-wise, is still the same with just new stuff added. But yeah, I agree that they probably movved it for the sake of verisimilitude
Retcons are a staple of the series. Fallout 2 was notorious at the time for retconning several things from Fallout 1. One being the location of Vault 13, which is in a wildly different location between the two games.
@@TattleDelta They just shifted the map north in 2. Whereas the military base, Vault 13, Shady Sands, and Vault 15 were at the very north end of the map in 1, they're at the very south in 2 but their positions on the "earth" are the same. 1 and 2 used a 1:1 map of the real region
@@TattleDelta Yep. All those armchair "canon purists" dropping comments everywhere on YT when the show came out were hilarious. Let's see how those NV ultrafangirl purists try and chew their way around that one lol.
So this one of the few reaction channels that actually played the game and not just implying that they played it. Just expect more spoilers because they get it.
@@MontgomeryWenisYou can definitely tell she's manipulating him from the start. I wouldn't surprised if her 'love' for him was in the same mentality of Hank's "protection" of Lucy from her Mother; Barb just cared about getting with the biggest movie star in Fallout-America and have the poster boy to spread her propaganda. You can tell she was more than happy lying to him about the Jumpsuit giving protection from Rads.
@@MontgomeryWenis Why is being told to be grateful for what you have gaslighting or a red flag? Someone had to work for all of it. Someone had to make it. Someone has to maintain all the infrastructure that supports it. All so it could be handed to you for free as a child. You SHOULD be grateful you have even the basics, considering the hundreds of millions of people who don't.
@@rmartinson19 That was a lot of assuming on your part. The commenter isn't required to tell us their life story, and I can tell you from experience that the kind of thing they are talking about has more to do with "Don't ask me for anything more, I don't care that much about you" than it does with teaching a child to be grateful.
@@leeneufeld4140 They may not need to tell us their life story, but they shouldn't be surprised when they throw something vague and not bad-sounding in the slightest out there, that some people are going to scratch their heads and ask what they're talking about. Combine that with the fact that there are literally millions of people out there who are spoiled, narcissistic and entitled enough to genuinely think being told to be grateful is a form of abuse from parents who may simply not be able to afford to give them more, I think it's a very legitimate line of questioning. If you're not willing to give the kind of context to make your meaning clear, then you should have enough sense to either not post in the first place, or to expect some questions and assumptions from the people you are being unclear with.
Pointing out a "spoiler" -- whether it was intentional or simply speculation -- is, itself, a "spoiler". There is so much passion put into the making of this show. I love when movies and TV shows stay true to the source material and pay tribute to it rather than simply "milk" it for some easy money -- which is why so many game adaptations are an insult to people who actually play(ed) the games. Thank you both so much for sharing your own passion in your reactions! 🤗 😁👍
The cock explode thing is a reference to Maximus being a "Low INT" character. Fallout is replete with "Low INT" runs where the dialogue options are just ludicrous and hilarious. But in a more in-show reason, Maximus is shown to us through Thaddeus as being the *newest* member of the Brotherhood, who was being beaten and hazed by Thaddeus, the previous low end on the totem pole. He was saved when he was but a child, and the Knights are meant to be chaste. We know guys pleasure themselves in the barracks, so it's not like EVERYONE in the brotherhood views ejaculation the same as Maximus. But it's easy to see that people he would look up to, given their authority in the BoS, would be able to lie to him and get him to believe silly things about sex.
@@charlesmiv3842 the are a lot of low INT gameplays, is just for fun. but yeah, it's hard, i saw part of one low INT gameplay from FO1 and the player couldn't even access to missions because the character just replied with "wwwruuuu?" or "aaaurrrrgggg" or stuff like that and the NPCs mocked them xd
@@charlesmiv3842Hehehe indeed! The extra stats from dumping INT can get ya three other high stats, though, instead of 2, which is enticing hahaha. But yeah, I've done very few low INT runs
@@felipeaquitralHahaha They aren't great for a 'proper' playthrough, but are very fun to mess with! What I love is how what people will say will change for you being dumb. Like, they'll explain a whole quest and stuff (more in 3 and up) but like in a super childish way to accommodate you hahahaha. The best is the few times they give you a character who speaks with you in high English, and you also get competent lines, because you're both stupid and can communciate adroitly with each other LOL
Given that the series was filmed in Africa, and the cast and crew were at risk of being attacked by hyenas, I'll assume that showrunners chose to not bring child actors to this set. Come to think of it, the other two shows I know of them, Person of Interest and Westworld, were very child light too.
About Moldaver, my money is on cloning. And don't sweat too much on the spoiler police, guys. There're always a few people that'll give you grief for saying that the sky is blue, claiming you just spoiled the show for somebody. Now I'm getting very interested on your recations to episode 7.
Cloning would be interesting, but I believe they give away what the real method is during the outro credits scene on Episode 8; she was in a Cryo Chamber within the Lucky Tops Casino I think it is called. They show a broken billboard showing the advertisement for the cryo pods, and this was not in the games but is new lore. So I'm pretty sure that's the case. Maybe she worked with Mr. House against Vault-Tec, or just found her way into the pods in New Vegas around when things went down etc.
@@BigCowProductions I'll admit that I didn't watch the end credits, so I can''t really comment on that. I'll say that, based on my - faulty - knowledge, cloning is simpler, as it doesn't need to address why Moldave chose that eaxt era to thaw out of the freeze tube, or how she still has followers. But again, theory must give way to data, and you have better information than me.
These people in 4 are the good guys, the scientist's ran the vault originally until their test subjects revolted and overthrew them, they then took over the running of the vault using it for good despite there own man made deformities', taking in people from Shady Sands for example, level 12 is a closed off area where they seem to be preserving the remaining subjects rather than doing further experiments.
@@KatSonny OK, I'll be patient, just working off Fallout lore from the game about the different vaults, waiting to watch 7-8 with my son who is overseas at the moment, we enjoyed the game together so will watch the show together possibly over the weekend, always love your reactions.
One thing to point out is that vaults didnt use fusion cores like those used in power armour, they had huge reactors. So thats a mistake between the show and the games.
I considered it to be a hybrid of the OG Vault reactor and how in Fallout 4 theres the Fusion Generators you find but a lot of Vaults could've been made differently especially since they were built at different times bu different companies sometimes over the 10 years before the war
@@rubenlopez3364 You couldnt possibly run an entire vault on a single fusion core. They just arent that powerful. The US army used to go through tons of them for each t45 power armour during operation anchorage. If a power armour goes through that many then you could run something as big as a vault on a single fusion core even with a huge supply of them they would be replaced every hour assuming they could output enough power to even work at all. Also as i said it simply doesnt exist that way in the games. They screwed up the writing there.
Is there a terminal or something about the cores running empty at anchoring for each individual set of power armour? I thought it was pretty obvious that the drain rate in 4 was purely for gameplay purposes and they could last centuries.
This whole episode felt like a fever dream, it was so insanely weird and to this day I'm not entirely sure if I enjoyed it or not 😅 leaning more towards the latter ^^

@@MontgomeryWenisI feel you -- the same red flags popped up for me as well. I'm glad I'm not the only one!
Hello Kat. Your sweater is beautiful. The whole look is stunning and fabulous. Sonny, nice t-shirt. Thanks for the great reactions.
That IS an awesome sweater
Pointing out a "spoiler" -- whether it was intentional or simply speculation -- is, itself, a "spoiler".
There is so much passion put into the making of this show. I love when movies and TV shows stay true to the source material and pay tribute to it rather than simply "milk" it for some easy money -- which is why so many game adaptations are an insult to people who actually play(ed) the games.
Thank you both so much for sharing your own passion in your reactions! 🤗
😁👍
Came for 7:40 & 20:37😂😂😂
The cock explode thing is a reference to Maximus being a "Low INT" character.
Imagine playing any Fallout with low INT. INT is how you get XP.
A little to the left...
Always try to do the right thing...
It was a huge bomb...
I like that you recognize that it's Jerry lol😊
By ending I think they meant the last 30 seconds of the show lol you guys didn’t spoil anything you need context anyway
16:15 honestly Kat, same but to an embarrassing level. Watched w my parter and he was like 🤨
"There's gotta be something going on, why would they build a trap to-" Camera pans up to show 'Test Subjects' sign "Oh, there it is."
Its actually kind of weird we dont see kids much in the show when in the games theres loads of them around even a camp of kids you can find
Scientists doing scientific things for 200 years.
lol. I love vault 4.
Gulpers with Fingers for Teeth now you know why .normal gulpers don't have those
Given that the series was filmed in Africa, and the cast and crew were at risk of being attacked by hyenas, I'll assume that showrunners chose to not bring child actors to this set.
Come to think of it, the other two shows I know of them, Person of Interest and Westworld, were very child light too.
Only a few scenes were shot in Africa. I believe the bulk of it was filmed in New York.
How the heck can you spoil a show you yourself haven't scene yet? Some people just need something to complain about.
I have watched the series 4 times and have watched 6 peoples reactions your the 7th XD
me too , cant stop , help
❤
Sonny: she could have told him
Kat: She probably did
Me, a married man: whether she did or not - she did
About Moldaver, my money is on cloning.
And don't sweat too much on the spoiler police, guys. There're always a few people that'll give you grief for saying that the sky is blue, claiming you just spoiled the show for somebody.
Now I'm getting very interested on your recations to episode 7.
I disagree on her being a clone. My money would be on something with the word “cryo” in it.
@@Bishop228 Yeah thats the most likely, but im not counting out some plot twist in the future.
@@BigCowProductions I assume we'll find out in due time. which will take a couple of years, at the very least. Sigh!
👍🐶❤❤❤
42
can i ask you something? why do you always comment the same thing and "42"? what does it mean? is it an inside joke, perhaps? :c
Yes. That is what we learn in *the next episode*
This was probably one of the best epsiodes of the season, and one of the main foundations to every story being told throughout the show
