@@Scyth0r She isn't a Vault Dweller anymore. She is a Wastelander. "Question is, will you still want the same things when you have become a different animal altogether ?"
@@andyb1653 she is definitely disillusioned .. Dictionary Definitions from Oxford Languages disillusioned /ˌdɪsɪˈl(j)uːʒnd/ adjective disappointed in someone or something that one discovers to be less good than one had believed. "the minority groups were completely disillusioned with the party"
Dane is a true-blue friend who, not being privy to the conversation between Maximus and the leader, saw a way to make Maximus a hero in the eyes of the group ensuring Maximus didn't get executed anyway for past actions.
The last part with Dane I see as actually pretty smart. Before they left, Max told Dane he wanted to leave, to which they said there is no leaving. So when they came in at the end there, I interpreted it as them seeing Moldaver dead and seizing the opportunity for Max. As if "You killed her' wasn't a statement...but instead an instruction to take the credit. That way, as a Knight, Max stands a better chance of getting out, or at least holding a position of power by which he can have some control.
@@BxRob927Yeah Knights and other ranks before Paladin are basically the foot soldiers of the Brotherhood while Paladins and above are officers so he wouldn’t have much power
Interesting. It could also be viewed as the opposite. While a lowly squire is easily replaceable a Knight is a symbol and has to be held in high regard, his chances of slipping away as a Knight are much more difficult
I'm in love with he emotion cooper conveys when he says "I guess not." When he realized the flaws in the power armor he knows about still exist. First time he shows like... giddiness. Excitement. I love it.
I dont think his wife and daughter are in vault 31, she is NOT one of buds buds, since he is an underling of her, and he filled vault 31 with junior executives.
I agree with this. I think more info will be revealed next season with whoever is in charge in new Vegas... Mr House? Somebody else? Whoever it is he was watching the corporate meeting from the shadows before the bombs dropped
A lot of people seem to.miss that at first viewing.. Hank, Betty, and the others in 31 are lackies. They're just as manipulated abd brainwashed. I mean Hankloterally drank the corporate juice he was willing to nuke a city knowing it would mean killing the woman he claims to 'love'. And he feels justified for it. I hope they don't kill him off. He needs to come to real terms on what he did.
I had the same thought that at least his wife might be in 31. But when norm looks at the computer in 31 you can pause it and look at the names of the others in cryostasis. His wife’s name isn’t on the list.
Bud Askins never treated Barb Howard as a superior. I have no idea why people think she is... He treated her as a colleague, and she treated him as a colleague. Bud Askins was a Vice-President of Vault Tec. We don't know what Barb Howard's rank was...
@@Debrutsideno There are 25 names on that list, including those that have been released from Cryo. There are at least 56 pods. Of which, at least 34 are still active.
Not even going to lie, after playing years and years of Fallout games, seeing the Cold Fusion work made me tear up. Playing through all those games and seeing how desolate the wastelands are, how broken people are with some fates worse than death befallen them, how hope is so scarce even when you beat the game. With Cold Fusion having been created the survivors now have a chance to revive hope, rebuild the world, and work so civilization can eventually thrive instead of survive. Even if it's not in the right hands as of the finale, the fact Cold Fusion exists means there's more of a chance than ever that humanity can repair themselves.
It will probably get destroyed. And with no one able to replicate it, lost forever. Just as many other tech. It's one of the major issues a lot of people don't realize when they see "thriving" post apocalyptic societies. TLoU Jackson supporters had a similar argument. But you cannot scavenge forever, because eventually all of your shit will break down and you have neither the knowledge nor the logistical capabilities to produce replacements. Humanity will further and further degrade into the stone ages and lose all the technological progression that we have made over the last thousands of years - especially all the complex shit since the industrial revolution, even more so that of the digital age.
Same. Now we just need to find a way to retrieve it from the Brotherhood, to mass produce it and distribute it everywhere. Big challenge but Cold Fusion is a big deal. Heck I hope we can realize it in owr own reality, imagine what we could do.
Cooper's wife originally told him the vault she would be in would 'oversee all the other vaults'. 31, 32, and 33 are the 'Bud's Buds' vault - one of the experiments. It stands to reason that the 'prime' vault overseeing all the others would be Vault 0 or Vault 1. But no matter what, it's certainly not 31. It's something we haven't seen yet, although Siggi knew a *lot* about Lucy's vault, implying he's somewhere that has knowledge of all the vaults. So maybe 'The Enclave' is where that is.
She also said that other vaults would be under complete control of the other corps that bought them... I think she was suppose to be in vault 31, but she won't be there in the end. (your princess is in another castle).
@@Pernicion Out of more than a hundred vaults, she proposed corporations to claim several. Not all of them - and even then, Vault-Tec would be the ultimate authority on said vaults even if they were technically sold as an experiment for another corp. Vault-Tec staff is not authorised to take orders from anyone but their own higher ups.
@@Jhulae What scene or line in the TV show convinced you that Barb was Bud's boss? Was it when Barb got stuck with the wrap party after the Vault 4 commercial was shot? or was it when Bud made her wait for him before going to their meeting? Maybe it was that Barb had to wear a Pip-Boy, when Bud secured the contract from RobCo?
@@Pernicion It was when Barb told Bud to stop talking about Bub's Buds (multiple times) and when Barb, not Bud, received the okay from 'the man upstairs' to tell everyone the overall plan in the meeting showing that she, not Bud, is the person closest to the top. And there is *no* indication that hosting the party wasn't Barb's idea - just that Cooper didn't want to be there.
Fallout: Monkey's Paw Maximus got to be knight like he wanted, Lucy found her dad like she wanted, and Cooper got to be a cowboy like he wanted, and none of them were happy about it by the time they got there.
Hank/Henry was Barb's assistant, I think that Barb is much higher in the Vault-Tec corporation especially when she looked at her pip-boy then up at the shadowy figure behind the glass. She was either a senior executive or the personal executive assistant to the president/CEO of Vault-Tec. Bud's Buds were all junior executive assistants. That last look on Max's face when Dane was holding up his arm was a look of dissolution of how he imagined the brotherhood to be, and the need for revenge on what happened to him as a kid in Shady Sands.
Apparently Barb was Vault-Tec's CMO (chief marketing officer). My theory is that Cooper's marketing campaign was a success and got her a promotion then she discovered Vault-Tec's true intentions and decided to go along with it in order to save her family. I also believe that as soon as the bombs started to drop she sent people looking for them (probably on a vertibird) but they only took the daughter and leaved Cooper behind and that's how he got irradiated. Hopefully we get more answers next season, maybe even a reunion (it would be so sad if they look at Copper's cowboy outfit and think he lost his mind)
@@eduardoarmenta9232 I think we can rule out any rescue services using vertibirds - EMP from the nukes took out every functioning vehicle. Planes and helicopters fell from the sky, vertibirds (which were super rare then) crashed into buildings. All cars fried. I think Cooper got his daughter into a vault, but got denied entry himself, but we'll find out. I honestly don't think Barb ever loved him as much as he did her. Especially once he became a big enough actor that she could use him for her own career. And, well, by now he truly hates her, so I doubt a reunion would be a good one.
@@saltherismsWe can see they had a loving relationship, nothing onscreen disproves that. Their reunion will be complicated because all Cooper knows is what she said, he doesn’t know (unless we get more info next season) who she said it for. Vault Tec exists without her, she’s simply trying to protect her family while riding that wave.
19:54 No, Barbara, Coop's wife, was going to go to an overseeing vault; Bud Askins' personal project was 31, 32, and 33. ---- It's a bit of a side info thing, but they were planning on getting in Vault 0. They reference it in the shorts on Amazon, the cartoons. In the 2nd or 3rd clip. And it's in the Fallout Bible I think. But the Daughter was with Cooper when the bombs fell. I think the daughter is probably a ghoul, or Cooper was able to get her daughter to Barbara at Vault 0 before leaving himself maybe. Lots of options. I'm so excited for season 2!!!
4:10 That's the ghouls Lucy freed btw. 9:54 Dundunduuuuuuuuun. And I think also now we know who the "she" is that the Ghoul is looking for. 12:55 "I buried her myself. Me, and your father." - Betty ... Gets a whole new meaning now, huh? 18:15 Definitely Lucy. 22:54 Dane always looking out for him. Maximus rise in the Brotherhood gives me some Man in the High Castle vibes though. I'm SO stocked and cannot wait for the Ghoul & Lucy teamup! Really loved Ella Purnell's performance as Lucy, already loved her in Arcane. Ironically, both of her characters undergoing kind of a transformation. That okey dokey makes you wonder how dark she gets now. Maybe it's Coop now who helps keeping her in check, since he can probably relate to how her world is crashing down on her at the moment.
Let's not forget that Hank McLean killed approximately 38,000 people when he nuked Shady Sands. Him calling Moldaver a "murderer" and "same as me" are... quite the statements.
Forgive me for getting off topic but has anyone ever told you Sonny that you have a great voice for narration. I could listen to a medieval fantasy book with your voice on it every day of the week. 😎👍
It was so nice to see Kat so excited about a piece of media! 😊 Was a little bummed at the shift to the discussion, but life is more important! Thanks for reacting! Probably my favorite for this series.
Sonny: "Who the fuck are we rooting for?" Welcome to this version of the Fallout universe's conundrum, Sonny. War (Krig) never changes. And fiduciary responsibility made it inevitable. Edit: Kat clapping gleefully on the final reveal was exactly how I felt. I can't wait for season two.
Well, to be honest, I only find this applies to fallout 1 and some factions in fallout 4. In fallout 2 and 3, you're fighting the enclave, which are the bad guys and in new vegas I'll always rather support a corrupted government like the NCR then root for literal slavers and butcherers like Caesar's legion that's my opinion at least 😅
@@SwordoftheMorn I mean, given only the choice between NCR and the Legion I would definitely side with the NCR as well, but you're forgetting that there's an third option that separates New Vegas from either one and makes it completely independent, you still get to kill Caesar and Lanius if you want, and the NCR goes on semi-functioning as they had for over a hundred years, just without the extra territory they so badly crave (but can't control).
Thanks again for a fun reaction. What an amazing season of television. As a guy who just happened to discover Fallout 1 and 2 when they came out, I have been a Fallout fan for quite some time. I was really surprised when Bethesda revived the franchise, and was so impressed with what they did (I never got around to 76 after hearing bad things). Now, Amazon really produced something that feels so true to the games that I am really thankful for this series. I look forward to the next season with great anticipation.
31:20 long comment rant here, you can ignore if you want, because it's prob an unpopular opinion imo Moldaver is definitely a "good person" and Hank a terrible one. this is even more evident because Moldaver, who knew Hank and what he did to Shady Sands in the name of "protecting his children", offered him a similar choice in the first episode: Lucy or the ppl of the Vault. Hank chose Lucy as we know (and at that moment, it was shown as an act any loving father would do, but then we had the 180° showing that Hank has made choices like that before and that he doesn't care to "destroy an entire community"), but something that usually isn't mentioned by viewers is that Moldaver gave time for _everyone_ to escape unharmed. no one was k. because of that, to me it was more like a test to show Lucy and everyone in the Vault what kind of person Hank really was. i love Moldaver, i think she's a rare character in TV, especially rare in American TV. she's kinda shown as this character fighting against oppression, this archetype of a revolutionaire, but imo she's never shown as a mere trope, or like that overused trope of the "freedom fighter" eventually turning a villain and doing awful things gratuitously out-of-character that we see in media all the time... seriously, that trope is _everywhere_ (from Jet in TLA to The Kansas Raiders in TLoU). but Moldaver is shown consistently throughout the series. and i think that's very brave, especially in a world that even now has a lot of ppl with a Cold War mentality. the only "complain" i have with the character is that her ideology and message it's kinda watered down and obscured with the "all factions are bad/the same" and the "i'm not a com, that's just a dirty word". is not necessary (or expected) for Fallout to have a super pro-leftist message, to paint com in a good light for a change. but i think it's pretty cool that it also kinda has? that the show is not "in the middle", it takes a stance, it's just up to the viewer to notice. so yeah, tl;dr more Moldavers, less Hanks.
Glad you two finished the show. Thankfully Fallout like a few others are breaking the trend of horrible video game adaptations to film. If things go well this decade could be the decade of great video game adaptations like how the previous decade was about comic book adaptations.
Too often adaptations try to both retell the existing story AND change everything about it coughhalocough. Either you stay 100% faithful to the characters and events or you create something new in the same setting. This team understood that the universe was the interesting part and you win by just telling a new story in the same world.
@@Vipre- Yeah I think that really is the trick: use an interesting video game setting and tell a new story within it, rather than modifying or corrupting an existing story.
Kat is definitely a diehard Fallout fan, lol. Every one of us who loved Fallout: New Vegas did the exact same thing! I also got misty eyed when they teased NCR stuff with the Fallout game theme during season 1. TY for the reacts guys!
This show has showcased how to properly do storytelling, always leaving us with questions by the end of each episode while also giving us some answers as the season progresses. And by the end of it, a lot of the questions we have are ultimately answered in some way while still leaving us with plenty of unanswered questions to keep us intrigued and interested in seeing how these storylines play out. Like what is going to happen to Norm? If he's gonna be Cryogenically frozen, how and when will he be unfrozen? Especially if Lucy (who I would think would be his best bet of being let out) is planning on following her dad to New Vegas. What are we going to find in New Vegas? Lucy's dad obviously knows something or someone is there that will help him. How is Maximus' storyline going to pan out? Is he still going to try to escape the Brotherhood of Steel or will he be further indoctrinated by them due to becoming an official Knight? I genuinely cannot wait to see what Season 2 has in store for us, if it's anything like this Season, I have high hopes to be just as enthralled by it as I am with Season 1.
If you told me 10 years ago that a show based on Fallout would be created, and it would also be excellent... well, I probably would've just said to you, "okey dokee". That was one of the tightest and leanest and concise season finales that I've ever seen. What a treat! Btw, kudos for not passing out when y'all came back. I'm impressed. GO TO SLEEP next time, lol.
His wife and daughter would be in Vault 0. The Vault-Tec HQ vault. I think Barb had Cooper sent to Vault 12 in Bakersfield which was designed specifically not to seal properly, so I think that's how Coop got Ghoulified. Of course that could all be wrong. So I hope season 2 will give us that particular back story
From that first trailer, when they said "From the company that brought you The Boys and Free 2-Day shipping", I was like, they get it, this could actually be good. And then, it was. As for Vault-Tec starting the war? We still don't know that, we only know that they intended to. But, looking at how it went down, they were caught unaware. Until we see who pushed the button, it is still in question.
Drats, missed the premier! Such an excellence series and it being canonical instead of an adaption is frankly a breath of fresh air in shows/films based on games. I for one welcome our Management Overlords
It's interesting to meet Maximus this early in his arc as a character. He's essentially the child of an abusive family. When he didn't see a chance to be accepted by his family he was willing to leave them, but now that he's being embraced by his family I think he's going to backslide on that. His friend saying there's no leaving and noplace is safe after he's seen the experiments in Vault 4 and learned that a representative of VaultTec destroyed his family and childhood home will make that easier. And, why did he join the Brotherhood? "to hurt the people who hurt me." He could view that narrowly as "Hank MacLane hurt me" or more broadly as "VaultTec hurt me." I think Maximus is going to tend toward the latter, possibly from the beginning or possibly after he learns more about them. I think he'll become an antagonist eventually. And with Hank announcing that they are a generation away from re-colonizing the surface, I suspect there is a VaultTec vs Brotherhood war coming. Maybe in the series, or maybe in future games. And lets face it Maximus is a great name for a major villain if it doesn't seem over the top, and we've met him when he was nobody so it won't seem as jarring if he grows into the name.
Kat is as sharp as a tack as they say in picking through the pieces, great series and loved the show however one question I have is if Cooper knows the suits weakness when he killed them in the end WHY didn't he use that knowledge in fight with Maximus at the beginning if season to kill him ?
it also caught my attention, but i think is a different model. Maximus has a T60, the faulty model is the T45, Coop says this to Bud in the flashbacks. also, Maximus clearly didn't know how to use the armor, he was no threat to the ghoul.
Hey guys, another great reaction. Ok, I say this to every reactor that says Cooper's wife, Barbara, might be in Vault 31. She shouldn't be in that Vault. Bud's Buds were all junior executives & management trainees that are supervised by Bud. Hank, Lucy's father, was Barbara's executive assistant. Barbara was senior management. I think she was downplaying her role @ Vault-Tec to Cooper. Do u remember the episode when Cooper put on the Vault Suit for the commercial & asked if it really blocks radiation? The 2 people his wife introduced him to looked to this wife for how to respond. In the last episode, when the corporate heads begin to argue, u see Barbara glance up @ the 2nd floor observation room, where someone sits in the shadows, before she brings the meeting back on track. I think she could be the right hand woman of the big boss of Vault-Tec. I am curious as to what Norm is gonna do. Is he going to get into his father's Cryopod/ is he going to threaten the other Cryopods in order to escape Vault 31?🤔 I saw an update as for when Season 2 may come out which will be 2026.
I never agreed with the "you can't adapt video games into good movies/shows" camp. I loved The Last of Us show, but Fallout? Episode after episode they always blew through my expectations and the final episode is like a cherry on the cake. The satire might make this show off-putting to some, and maybe it's not for everybody, but it's phenomenal. The one thing I'm scared now, is how TLoU and Fallout might start a trend like Marvel, and in 5 years we'll all get burned out on video game adaptations.
11:24 yeah, she couldn't handle the fear of stepping out in the wilds. That would be terrifying, to leave everything behind that you know and go into unknown danger.
@@greywarden5513Exactly. The camera lingers on the Ghoul loading distinctive armor piercing rounds into his gun before he shoots the first Brotherhood Knight. This is a nod to the armor piercing ammo of Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas. During the Filly fight, the Ghoul was using ammo designed for soft, human targets (e.g., hollow-point and/or explosive rounds). The rounds look and sound very different from the rounds used against the Brotherhood. The Ghoul likely did not expect to be fighting power armor and was unprepared for Maximus (which is why the Ghoul tries to kill Lucy first and failing that shoots the gun from Maximus’s hand). But now that the Brotherhood is involved the Ghoul tracks down some armor piercing ammo before heading to the Observatory.
All the experiment ideas at the meeting exist in the games. The show really captures one key aspect of the Fallout verse, and that's the exploration and mystery (and in many cases, horror) of the vaults. On a side note, Vault 4's twist in the previous episode is pretty neat because of all the setup we've had with how horrible the other vaults were (and it doesn't rely on the viewers to be familiar with the games for this too). The inhabitants ultimately become a not too bad society all things considering.
The suspicion of Hank not seeming like what he is has always been prevalent especially if you're familiar with the protags of some of the games because there's typically always a familial twist to things, but I do really appreciate that even if someone just watches the show, there was already a seed planted in the first episode due to what Moldaver says to Lucy before taking Hank. It ultimately came down to the mystery of why it happened. Now, BARB though... Barb's twist was SO well done. It's great because she DOES do this out of love for her family... it's just such an extremely warped point of view and since she wholeheartedly believes in it, it's way scarier. She (and Hank and even Moldaver to some extent) is capable of monstrous things AND loving their family at the same time, and it just makes them as antagonists all the less one dimensional. If this were any other cheaper show, you can bet they'd do the whole "Cooper doesn't know, but the AUDIENCE knows hehehe" and making the twist not work. I was JUST as heartbroken as Coop when she said that line at the meeting. It's like you knew she could be as cold and calculating as everyone in that room... but to be the one to suggest THE idea in the first place was just... wow. Amazing show! Can't wait for the next season!!!
What has me most excited is the prospect of an Overseer Vault somewhere among the ruins of New Vegas. It's strongly hinted at by Barb and that must be where she and her daughter must be - and where Hank is headed to. The moment that got me was Coop finding out about his wife being the biggest of all corporate monsters and his entire marriage shattering before his eyes. Which also opens up a few more questions: He got divorced before his birthday appearance, because according to the people there, he has to do them to pay alimony. So, what exactly happened to him and his daughter after they escaped the Great War bombing? How did he turn into a ghoul? What happened right after this corporate meeting? I still think his (ex-)wife is ultimately responsible for his ghoulification. Sarita Choudhury (Moldaver) was also approached on wheter or not she will appear in Season 2, because we never found out A. How she survived for over 200 years. and B. why she changed her name from Williams to Moldaver, and she had to play coy, probably because she's under NDA, so that's certainly not the last we've seen of her. Save to say, this finale was so good, I played (and fiinished) Fallout 4 for the first time afterwards - and I usually never play RPGs.
Maximus could also work to make the Brotherhood what he and Lucy always wanted it to be/thought it was. Maximus knows if he wants to be with Lucy he needs to deal with the brotherhood first
If you've seen the Man in the High Castle, that often does not really matter because the thing with those fascist governing bodies is that they're kind of run on their own.
The funny thing about Maximus is that he can bungle some things however he always achieves his short term goal, protect Lucy, could see that being a driving force for him manipulating the BOS (or at least, his followers) to a different path(more heroic) leading to friction with the Cleric for control of the direction of the BOS at large.
I watched and enjoyed all 8 of your YT Fallout reaction videos. One thing I haven't seen anyone mention or comment on is that ghoul Rose is feral, but doesn't seem completely mindless. She definitely reacts to the conversation going on in front of her. The most notable is when Lucy tells Moldaver to give her father back, Rose hisses and growls. She does that a couple of other times and they don't seem completely random. The Ghoul's attitude towards Lucy changed with "Golden Rule, Motherfucker." After that he seems to have been protecting her (consciously or not). He takes the blame for what happened at the Super Duper Mart instead of telling them they should be looking for a vaultie. He shoots Hank so Lucy doesn't have to murder her father. Granted he had the ulterior motive of keeping Hank alive so Hank could lead them to his masters. If Lucy pulled the trigger, she would put the bullet in Hank's brain. He warned her that the BOS would kill her along with everyone else if she stayed. I am very much looking forward to how their relationship develops in season 2 and beyond. And Lucy has never been around dogs before. Canine eXperiment Not Found seems to be comfortable with Lucy around. Vault-Tec and Bud got what they were looking for in their breeding program with both Lucy and Norm. Both are intelligent and inquisitive. Which may turnout to not be a good thing for Vault-Tec. Lucy showed her adventuring chops in the first episode when she and Hank were running to vault 32 and she stopped to get ammo off one of the fallen. It will be interesting to see what Norm decides to do. I don't think he wants to just give up and I wouldn't trust RoomBud not to kill me after I was in the pod. Very much looking forward to Season 2.
Its amazing how they gave us suchs a justified reason to hate Hank after this. . .i mean, aside from what he did to his wife. He destroyed the one faction that every fan of the game could get behind. . . Its truely unforgivable
I honestly feel as bad for Lucy as I do for Cooper/The Ghoul. Both were not only horribly lied to by the person they loved the most, but those people (Barb and Hank) are also responsible for the genocide of countless people. This is one of the best season finales I’ve ever seen! Not only does it unravel most of the mysteries setup throughout the show, it also expands the lore of the entire Fallout franchise in a monumental way.
17:25 Pretty cool. Y’all are the only reactors that I’ve seen that mention cooper wearing the T-45 power armor back in the marines. My personal favorite is the T-51
It really is astonishing how much they resolved in a single episode yet didn't neglect setting up season 2 with new things, not just things they failed to resolve.
This show is a brilliant example of flawed corporate thinking. Vault Tec wanted to eliminate conflict by getting rid of all other factions but then to make money they outsourced their vaults to other corporations with different ideals thereby creating lots of different factions. This is shown by the fact Shady Sands was founded by vault dwellers from Vault 15 but because what they did conflicted with the plans for Vaults 31, 32, & 33 Hank nuked it!
Its a perfect season.Even the "filler" episode with vault 4 was important. It was her first real exposure to the fact that the vaults and vaulttech were not what they seemed. Without that exposure she probably would not have believed moldaver. Almost everything served a purpose, and her and her brother both finding out the truth at the same time (with the flashback to when the ghoul found out layered in there) was perfect. All the storyline converged. Even maximus was important because he was someone she came to care for that was victimized by her dad. I loved the foreshadowing in earlier episodes like when the enclave defector said "will you still want the same things, when you are a different animal altogether". Both Lucy and max got what the originally wanted in the end, and in the end it was no longer what they wanted. Also when max wanted to steal the fusion core and Lucy said "if my dad knew I destroyed a whole community to save him it would break his heart", and then she finds out he destroyed an entire city supposedly for her but more accurately for his misguided ideals. It was all such good storytelling
From what I can gather his wife and daughter might be in Vault 31 but it’s no guarantee. 31 was Bud’s personal project. There’s a high likelihood she’s in a different vault, but we won’t get any answers until season 2
Fallout had good antagonists, none of them were evil for evil sakes. All of them thought they were doing the good/right thing, which makes good for good character development.
@@volourn9764 I mean the Master knows he is commiting Atrocities but does them anyway because he thinks it’s the Best Chance for Mankind to survive and evolve. And as soon as you tell him that it was for nothing he gets appalled by his own Actions and literally murders himself
@John_Raiyder he's evil. All of his garbage giant gobblygook. He doesn't have a change if heart. His plan was a failure. That's why he took the coward's way out while mass murdering his own lackies, innocent prisoners, and the player (well.. attempts too but the player gets to escape).
Any plans to maybe do a full spoilers review? I'd be interested in hearing some of the thoughts you didn't want to share here, which I understand. I'm a big fan of the games and thought this was the best new show in years.
i've watched a bunch of reaction channels for this show and you guys are one of my favorites :) you're the only reactors i've seen catch on to Lucy's ghoul mom, roomba-brain Bud, and flashback Hank before it was revealed, and you're the only new vegas players i've seen get so excited about Mr House in the meeting and seeing the city at the end lol i think my reaction was about the same as yours Kat 😂 also i love the watermelon pin 🍉✌🇵🇸
for those saying dane purposely did it to keep maximus from getting executed should point out that the elder (the leader of this brotherhood chapter) flat out is recruiting maxixmus to dismantle the current brotherhood and rebuild the elder is the emperor to maximus's darth vader essentially no matter what rank this elder is already planning to work with maximus to that end and muldaver stated maybe you can try to change them maybe you can only try. I believe maximus story arc is gonna be working with the elder to wipe the slate clean so to speak and most likely maximus will end up likely also betraying the brotherhood elder in these plans after setting himself up alongside him~~~

Amazon owning these anti-corporation shows like ‘The Boys’ and ‘Fallout’ is peak irony.
it's like an ironic joke out of a Fallout game. it's pretty ironic and cool.
Even funnier is the people who write these anti co-operation stuff yet gladly taking their money, and pushing the company's agenda. Lol

Dane is a true-blue friend who, not being privy to the conversation between Maximus and the leader, saw a way to make Maximus a hero in the eyes of the group ensuring Maximus didn't get executed anyway for past actions.
Maximus is a ride or die type for sure. Glad their relationship was intact at the end.
Dane is a bonified G
The last part with Dane I see as actually pretty smart.
Before they left, Max told Dane he wanted to leave, to which they said there is no leaving. So when they came in at the end there, I interpreted it as them seeing Moldaver dead and seizing the opportunity for Max. As if "You killed her' wasn't a statement...but instead an instruction to take the credit. That way, as a Knight, Max stands a better chance of getting out, or at least holding a position of power by which he can have some control.
For any sort of power, wouldn’t Maximus need to be like a Paladin and not just Knight?
@@BxRob927Yeah Knights and other ranks before Paladin are basically the foot soldiers of the Brotherhood while Paladins and above are officers so he wouldn’t have much power
@@stickler5041 But he'll be closer to that endpoint now that he's a knight
Dunno... Rising the ranks of a faction of which you disapprove of does not always go well. See the Man in the High Castle for example.
Interesting. It could also be viewed as the opposite. While a lowly squire is easily replaceable a Knight is a symbol and has to be held in high regard, his chances of slipping away as a Knight are much more difficult
12:27 that means when Lucy thought the sun was actually touching her skin as a kid, it actually was 😭
I'm in love with he emotion cooper conveys when he says "I guess not." When he realized the flaws in the power armor he knows about still exist. First time he shows like... giddiness. Excitement. I love it.
The code that Hank enters to activate cold fusion - 101097 - is the date of the release of the first Fallout game.

Fun fact Amazon owns roomba 😂
Of course they do 😂
There's generally a lot of irony in Amazon producing Fallout.
@@Pernicion No, Barb was definitely Bud's boss. Bud's Buds were all middle management. There's no way Barb and her family were going into 31.
Fallout: Monkey's Paw
Maximus got to be knight like he wanted, Lucy found her dad like she wanted, and Cooper got to be a cowboy like he wanted, and none of them were happy about it by the time they got there.
The executive meeting room is reminiscent of "the War Room" in the movie, Dr. Strangelove."
Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!
I'd lay money the shadowy figure was from the (pre-war) Enclave.
Bro I loved how when asked what he imagined what the Brotherhood would do with cold fusion.
He had that, "Shit. Think I'm on the wrong team" look.
The cars in the show are practically characters themselves, and all of them from the past are real cars.
And that's how you close off multiple storylines in one episode while opening up a whole bunch of new ones for Season 2!
One of my favourite reactions to this show - the joy, shared by both of you, in all the little things was a pleasure to watch :D
Let's not forget that Hank McLean killed approximately 38,000 people when he nuked Shady Sands. Him calling Moldaver a "murderer" and "same as me" are... quite the statements.
I think Maximus will want to eventually go after Hank for what he did to Shady Sands. So curious to see if Norm ends up in a cryotube.
Sonny: "Who the fuck are we rooting for?"
Welcome to this version of the Fallout universe's conundrum, Sonny.
Krieg*
31:20 long comment rant here, you can ignore if you want, because it's prob an unpopular opinion
imo Moldaver is definitely a "good person" and Hank a terrible one. this is even more evident because Moldaver, who knew Hank and what he did to Shady Sands in the name of "protecting his children", offered him a similar choice in the first episode: Lucy or the ppl of the Vault.
Kat's joy at seeing New Vegas is delightful!
Absolutely loved your reactions to this series, you two. Loved every single minute of it. And yeah, just like you I literally CAN'T WAIT for Season 2!
Kats reaction this episode was so hype! Love that yall loved it
Glad you two finished the show.
So far Sonic, Fallout, and Mortal Kombat have been holding it down.
Haven't seen Mario.

Vault 31 has junior management his wife was senior management
Visiting Copenhagen today (3 June)! Beautiful weather and great city to visit.

The RobCo executive in that board meeting with Vault-Tec and the other big boys was Mr. House from New Vegas 😅
And lets face it Maximus is a great name for a major villain if it doesn't seem over the top, and we've met him when he was nobody so it won't seem as jarring if he grows into the name.
the shady figure in the meeting was likely a member of the Enclave
You guys are great parents and great content creators.

I really hope we get to see Super Mutants in season 2.
Appreciation for you guys soldiering through the tired to get the conversation in! Dedication 🍻

First season of Westworld is in a league of its own. Anthony Hopkins masterclass.
I think the power armor Maximus was wearing was the T60, it didn't have the same flaw as the T45, which is why the Ghoul didn't kill him.
He didn’t have the ammunition to deal with it
@@greywarden5513Exactly.
Loved seeing your reactions to the series, especially Kat's little nerd outs. Was indeed a perfect finale. Hope sleep has been caught up on.... 😬
No barb is in the vault where they oversee all the other vaults.
Maximus could also work to make the Brotherhood what he and Lucy always wanted it to be/thought it was. Maximus knows if he wants to be with Lucy he needs to deal with the brotherhood first
Maximus doesn't want to be a knight, but then again the ones who don't want power are often the ones who can be trusted with it.
Not only does it unravel most of the mysteries setup throughout the show, it also expands the lore of the entire Fallout franchise in a monumental way.
its gonna be funny to see currier 6 waiting for henery with a magnum at the lucky 66
Thank you guys for great reactions! ❤
Yes I'm a geek. I stopped the episode when the brother looked t the roster of vault 31 and his wife and daughter are not on it. probably in New Vegas.
Thanks for a great reaction you two! 😊

Disagree. Most of the villains in the game are flat out evil right from FO1.
'Us' will always become 'Us and Them' over time.
All those Brotherhood Knights forgot their helmets had headlamps.
And waited for the random ghoul to finish his monologue and shoot their own to fight back after the lights went down lol
Welcome to Fabulous New Vegas.
Any plans to maybe do a full spoilers review? I'd be interested in hearing some of the thoughts you didn't want to share here, which I understand. I'm a big fan of the games and thought this was the best new show in years.
WTH......Give the writers and Actors ALL The PRPS and LOVE!!!!
i've watched a bunch of reaction channels for this show and you guys are one of my favorites :) you're the only reactors i've seen catch on to Lucy's ghoul mom, roomba-brain Bud, and flashback Hank before it was revealed, and you're the only new vegas players i've seen get so excited about Mr House in the meeting and seeing the city at the end lol i think my reaction was about the same as yours Kat 😂 also i love the watermelon pin 🍉✌🇵🇸
Kat knows what's up 🍉
for those saying dane purposely did it to keep maximus from getting executed should point out that the elder (the leader of this brotherhood chapter) flat out is recruiting maxixmus to dismantle the current brotherhood and rebuild the elder is the emperor to maximus's darth vader essentially no matter what rank this elder is already planning to work with maximus to that end and muldaver stated maybe you can try to change them maybe you can only try. I believe maximus story arc is gonna be working with the elder to wipe the slate clean so to speak and most likely maximus will end up likely also betraying the brotherhood elder in these plans after setting himself up alongside him~~~
