The father had great timing and delivery, but really how could anyone top a story like his. Don't know if I'll ever get that image out of my mind. And the photographer and the guests were really great too! A real inspirational video. Thanks for posting!

Ha! Fair point, Phil. But looked at a different way, the core of his story was that his future son in law got drunk and walked into their bedroom one night. Good story, but not amazing. In a different kind of speech, it might have been a quick anecdote among others. “And then there was the time he drunkenly walked in on us.” I love the way this guy chose to only tell one story, but really make a meal out of it. He added lots of detail and painted a great picture.
There are lots of ways attack these speeches. No right way or wrong way, as long as it’s from the heart.
Also, I forgot to mention it in the video, but to all the people stressing because they think they need to memorize their speech - this dad didn’t. Did reading it detract at all from his performance? To me - and the other 2.6 million viewers, not in the least!
